Introduction

On the continent of Sophes in the world of Tyld, there have always been two dominating countries, and two dominating religions. In the east there is the Kingdom of Erubra, a staunchly Catholic land that that is one of the two powerhouses of Sophes. To the was there lies the Tesr Republic, the bastion of the Anglican powers, and the other superpower on the continent. They take up almost 85% of all the land on Sophes, with the rest of the counties laying between them as buffers. There have been wars between the two nations and beliefs for time out of mind, with neither side ever really having a decisive victory. The poor countries caught in the crossfire have become so accustom to wars between the two powers that they have built their policies around appeasing both sides. The only nation that has broken from this pattern is Britania, the only nation that has started to make a vie for the title of the third superpower on Sophes. It has stayed officially neutral in the debate of religion, having about equal parts of both. Up until a month ago, Britania was trying to convince Tesr and Erubra to sign an official peace treaty to prevent another major war for some time to come. Of course, this plan fell to peaces when Erubra suddenly declared war on Tesr and invaded Britania to use as a stepping stone.

This is the general gist of what is going on in the world. But that doesn't tell much about the world itself. Magic is what helps much of the world run. In fact, magic is almost treated as the science of this world. Many mages and magicians work to find advancements in magic to help fix the problems in the world. There are a few places to learn magic, but the main ways are from either learning from another mage as an apprentice or attending the Magic Academies in Tesr, Erubra, or Britania. Mages are also used as part of most armies, but it takes a special kind of mage to do that. Most mages are more adept at non-combat magic or are too weak to do much to a large mass of people. Each mage has one element that they specialize in, and only some of the most powerful (or most curious). Of course, magic isn't nearly infallible. A special alloy of metal, called Ferrus, is able to easily deflect and nullify most magical attacks. Magic also takes energy, and most mages don't have very high natural reserves. That means that a normal soldier isn't just cannon fodder to throw at the mages.

Speaking of soldiers, let me get into the level of advancement in Tyld. The technology they have is equivalent to the late Medieval period, before the onset of gunpowder. The strongest fortresses are massive stone castles, but there are few of those outside of the major cities and capitals in the world. Swords and lances are the main weapons of the era, and catapults and other siege weapons are their mighty war machines.

Countries:
Tesr (Anglican)- One of the main powerhouses on Sophes, and the home of the Anglican church. The White City of Leor is the mighty capital of the Republic, and home to both the Senate and the Tower of Faith, the "Vatican" of the Anglicans. The most faithful of the Anglicans make pilgrimages to see the great Tower which seemingly reaches to the sky with no end. They are currently at war with Erubra once again. The climate varies depending on the area of the country, the north being cold and the south being hot. There is a desert in the south that extends all the way into Erubra. There are also mountains and forests all across the country, along with lakes and fertile land.
Erubra (Catholic)- One of the main powerhouses on Sophes, and the home of the Catholic church. Its capital is the Grand city of Vesik, the largest city in the world. When compared to Leor, it is just barely larger, but its level of sanitation is less. Vesik is dirtier and dingier for the common man, but things improve as they approach the Catholic Canton. In the Catholic Canton live the highest clergy and the Pope himself. They are once again at war with Tesr. The climate varies depending on the area of the country, the north being cold and the south being hot. There is a desert in the south that extends all the way into Tesr.
Britania (Neutral)- One of the numerous buffer states between Tesr and Erubra, but one of the few with access to the sea. This has given them some of the best trade outside of the two powers-that-be, and that had let them become the most powerful of the buffer states. In fact, its power has begun to approach that of Tesr and Erubra. Or at least, it was before the newest war started. It is currently occupied by Erubra, and all the royalty has gone missing, leaving a Erubran puppet reagent in place. Its climate is mild to cold, with snow being common in the winter and often in the late fall or early spring. Being a buffer states, it is in between the Tesr Mountains and the Erubra Mountains, two ranges that make a valley between the two nations.
Baastia (Anglican)- (TBA)
Terust (Neutral)- One of the few countries that isn't nestled between Tesr and Erubra. It is actually an island nation off the south of Sophes. It is ruled by money. The entire country is built off trade, theft, gambling, and anything else that makes the cash flow. It also is a nation in which the normally illegal slave trade is legal, which has kept the dirty business alive both there and across Sophes, if illegally.
Dudth (Catholic)- (TBA)

Rules

Before I get to the actual rules, let me list a few notes first.

-The religions are not the same as the once that we all know. I borrowed the names and the monotheism, but not much else. This is the disclaimer that says that all things that happen in here do not reflect my or anyone's personal beliefs. Alright?

-If you want to make your own buffer nation, make sure to tell me. I open to suggestions. Also, if you ask nicely, you can have royalty, even from Erubra or Tesr.

-Neither side in this is the "good guys" so feel free to chose whichever side you wish. I will be pretty neutral in all this, but it is up to you to choose a side. I don't want everyone be on one side.

Now for the boring stuff.

1) No Godmodding. I don't want you to try to bend the RP to your own whims and wants. I'm open to suggestions, but I won't be told to let something happen.

2) No Mary Sues. Mages are not and will not be all powerful (although pretty powerful is alright). Neither will swordsmen or lancers. Also, some originality helps in character bios, but I won't flip at some cliches. Some times your best ideas have already been done, so don't worry about it too much.

3) When it comes to literacy, just be understandable. I'd like a minimum of 100 words, which isn't all that much. More is fine, and I won't go checking to make sure you have exactly 100, so a little less is okay. I just don't want only one sentence.

4) Romance is fine, if not recommended, but be sure to remember the limits I sure you all know.

Black. That was it. That was all the girl saw. That was all the girl knew.

Well, maybe not all she knew. She knew how to talk, she knew how to read. She could add, she could subtract. She could do everything needed to function as a living being. What she couldn't do was remember. Her past, her parents, her name; all were lost in the sheer blackness within. The only thing she could remember is what happened mere seconds ago, and that was her working her way up into a sitting position with her ankles and wrists bound and blindfold placed over her face. She could here people breathing around her, almost greedily, and she instantly wished she was unbound. An oily voice penetrated her black world.

"Oi, chief, do you think it worked?"

A raspy, evil sounding voice responded. "I think so, Tarle, I think so. She ain't thrashin' about no more, leastwise. Oi, girly, can you hear me?"

The girl nodded quickly. She was terrified of these people. Just how had she ever gotten herself into this mess?

"Well, listen good. We's gonna sell you as a slave out in Terust. Don't you go gettin' any bright ideas about runnin' away. That collar around your neck is a Collar of Command, so you has to do whatever me 'n' Tarle tell you. In fact, I order you not to run away. So now you can't. Don't worry your pretty little head to much, though. We'll treat you right until we can sell you. Can't sell damaged goods too well, if'n you catch my drift. Tarle, I'm gonna go tell Vuys to go speed up. If we hurry, we can get to the capital fast enough to catch the last boat."

There was the rustling of cloth moving as the "chief" moved out of the wagon. The girl's head buzzed with thoughts in the absence of memories. Slave? Why? What had she done to deserve that? What was "Terust?" What was a "Collar of Command?" Try as she might now, she couldn't move an inch if she thought about running away. Did it really have the power to control her? Was there really no way out of this?

Caught in this spiral of sadness and despair, she didn't notice the sound of horse hooves approaching the right side of the wagon, right behind her. Tarle jumped to his feet, then she heard the twang of a bowstring from both inside and outside the wagon. Something "thumped" to the floor, then she felt herself dragged from her position, through the canvas covering the wagon's top, then pulled onto horseback. More twangs came from back at the wagon, and she could hear arrows whizzing by them and shouting echoing in the distance. Slowly, all that noise disappeared into just the rhythmic clacks of a galloping horse. Still she could see nothing, nor move her arms and legs. In fact, she didn't know how she was staying on. Just as she began to seriously worry about falling off, the horse came to a stop. Someone lifted her down off the horse and placed her gently on the ground. In a few moments, the bindings that had held her tight were cut loose along with the blindfold that had made her world black. White suddenly flooded her vision, and the pain of the searing light after god-knows how much darkness made her clamp her eyes shut tight. When she opened them, she could still only see rough outlines of the world. She looked up at the shape who had saved her, and simply said, "Thank you."

The shape shifted, and the voice of a young man said back, "No problem. We've been after those dirty thieves for awhile. It's just too bad that I could get Seasil while I was at it. Can you tell me your name?"

The girl blinked. "I don't know. I don't know anything before waking up a few minutes ago."

The girl heard a sigh she assumed had escaped from the shape. Then came his reply, "Alrighty then. From now on, you'll be called Lysa. That was my sister's name, so bear it well. And my name is Astald Rynus, but my friends just call me Ry. Sorry I can't help you more, but I'm on a schedule that really can't be changed. You are just outside of Taris, capital of Britania. I'm afraid the only way to remove that collar is a powerful spell, so you'll probably have to go to one of the magic colleges to get it taken off. Don't worry about it too much; only the person who first gave you a command keep giving you commands without him passing ownership on, which someone like him probably wouldn't do. Anyway, good luck, and I hope you get your memories back!" The shape bolted out of her vision and then onto an even bigger shape. She realized that her vision must have been clearing up, because she could make out the larger shape as a horse just before it galloped away. She just laid back onto the ground for a few seconds. She knew she couldn't stay there forever, but for now... Lysa, huh? She'd try not to do anything that disgraced the name.

Delryn moved down the road that led to Taris, it was definitely a pilgrimage he hadn't intended on making at least on his own like this but it was time to start looking for answers. He had sulked long enough it was time for him to get back up and find a new reason to push forward , but talk is cheap and he had no direction except to possibly determine where to go. after all Erubra had just invaded Britania again. Perhaps he could start to right the wrongs starting there. he glared up at the sky as the light shined brightly down on the former paladin, as he made his way down the path. He needed to find something to perhaps conceal his armor from public eye, after all attention could be a good thing but it also could be a bad thing if his intentions were mistaken. the last year had been hard for him to swallow. leaving the church, denouncing the country he so long fought for and fleeing to Britania needless to say it was a little bit of an upset in the church with such an upcoming paladin so easily denouncing the country he serves and walking away, but it was never that easy.

No there had been blood shed to ensure his freedom, the fights for a long time seemed like they would never end at a point Delryn had to wounder if it was divine retribution for his actions, but he still stands and he still was an warrior for god and the people which meant he must have been doing something right after all. But none of that mattered at the moment Britania held the answers he was sure of it and if it didn't it would be the start of something big he had no choice but to push onward. it would be indeed interesting to see what challenges would lie in front of him this time.

after walking a bit further a man on a horse galloped past him the looks exchanged were brief at best but the man was to say at least a skilled fighter. then just around the bend in the road sat a stationary wagon. Delryn's curiosity peeked perhaps this would be the reason he came. he cautiously aproched the wagon on hand resting on the hilt of his sword ready to spring into action if need be.

Elayne travelled southward in Britania, toward Taris. She should reach it that day if unforseen circumstances didn't pop up. Although, around her, circumstances had a tendency to do that. It's not that she was recless or anything but.... You see, like this war. There hadn't even been grumblings about this war against Tesr through Britania. It was odd though, normally even lesser noble households would be able to see this coming a mile away, but it was strange that she had not. Odness seemed to be another one of her companions. She giggled to herself with that. Perhaps she should find better company to be around after all, even when she would make it to Taris, it would be dreadfully boring sitting in an inn all day long. Elayne switched the reigns to her left hand as her right hand busied itself wrapping her cloak tigher around her. She had bought the cloak further north in Britania due to the cold. It seemed even colder than usual up north nowadays. But at the same time she was thankful for it because at least she didn't attract too many looks from passerbys than from before. There was no doubt that those people would get news of her flight to Britania into the noble's houses but by then it would be too late. It already was too late. They could not interfere with Britania, it was as simple as that.

Elayne looked back up at the skyline and pressed the pace of her horse a little faster. She could see it! She was almost there, Taris! She let out another soft giggle, mentally repramanding herself for being so childish.

The girl, who I should call Lysa, I suppose, slowly rose from her bed on the ground and looked around. She had regained all of her vision at last, and it was time for her to be moving on. It was cold, and from the leaves on the trees she would have to guess it was fall. Guess because she didn't know. It was terrible, having no memories. She didn't know where she was, where anything was. "Britania" and "Teris" were just names to her, not places. And now she had to go there. Wherever there was. She got up slowly, muscle aching from being bound for... well, for a good time, probably. She couldn't know exactly how long.

After awhile, she came across a wagon just left in the middle of the road. From what she could tell from what she had heard and felt, it was similar, if not identical to the one she had been confined in. There was a man outside of it with a hand on his sword hilt, ready to do... something. She approached and called out, "Hello!"

In the halls of the Britanian Magical University, a red-headed man walked the corridors quickly. Some of the people he passed called out greetings or asked him questions about the most recent lecture, but Ensyn Maclura waved them off. For once, he didn't have time for to discuss the newest magical innovation or scientific breakthrough. There was a letter from one of his sisters waiting for him in his room, and he had to read it fast, before his brother arrived.

While some mages and magicians were part of the military, many were completely aloof from the realities of war and the world. This war had been so sudden that Britania had not even had time to muster an army. This was a mixed blessing for Britania, but a true blessing for Erubra, the country he had been born in, and a country he still had some care for. From what he had learned here, the Erubran war mages would have had lots of trouble with their Britanian counterparts. They were far more advanced than the Erubrans, in his opinion, in pretty much ever field could think of. The Britanians were happy to show Ensyn, who was an academic over an Erubran. Which was one of the few blessings for the Britanians. If Britania had been able to muster an army, they would have given the Erubrans a run for their money, but there was no doubt they would have lost eventually. And then Erubra would not have been kind to either the citizens or the mages. The country would have been reduced to a mere shadow of its former self. And that wouldn't have been good for anyone.

The reason his brother was coming her was to try and extort knowledge from the Britanian Mages. After that failed, Ensyn had no doubt that he would be next on his brother's list. He wanted to be gone by then, and not show up anywhere Erubra could touch him, especially his brothers or his mother. They would use whatever they could to make him tell them what they wanted to know. Luckily, all his sisters had left the house, so they had no leverage over him. But that was only true because it had been his father's last act to get his youngest sister to safety. And Ensyn would not squander that. He wouldn't let the Maclura House entrap him again. After all, he was ready this time, with more contacts and allies than they could ever dream of. And his were loyal. He made friends, they made servants.

Delryn observed the scene it looked at first glance that it had been ambushed. But what more would be expected in times like this, Delryn carefully scanned around him as a soft voice reached his ears.

"Hello"

Delryn's head moved in the direction of the sound to see a girl standing to the side, Delryns amber eyes looked for a weapon then adjusted and softened as he spoke.

"Hello, what is someone like you doing out here on the road all by yourself? its dangerous on roads like these."

Delryn's eyes moved back to the wagon this scene didn't fit right a girl, a wagon that seemed to be abandoned and some signs of a struggle. Delryn's attention moved back to the girl as he spotted the collar on her neck. thoughts rushed through his mind, had she escaped was she in trouble or was this a trap. there was only one way to find out, Delryn smiled softly as he spoke.

"My name is Delryn Revlis, i insist you let me escort you to your destination especially in times like this you never know who might be on these roads."

Delryn took his hand off the hilt of the sword and offered it out to the girl.

Elayne entered Taris in a slight state of wonder. This was different than Eruban cities, she couldn't explain how, but it had a different... air about it. As she guided her horse down the main road that you came upon when you entered the city she took a moment to examine the people surrounding her. Good, she wasn't getting any hard looks that she could see, so the news of her flight must not have reached here. She had no doubt it would eventually, but as of right now she had nothing to fear from some of those radical Anglicains. Slowly she made her way toward the center of the city where she found a nice inn. Tipping the boy who took her horse from her she entered the inn.

It was a lively but classy place. There were few people drinking on the main floor and there were a few games of dice and cards going around the room, all amongst lively banter. She walked up to the desk and arranged for a room and for her bags to be brought up to her room and paid out of one of her wallets. That was one of the tricks se had learned. If you carried around many wallets instead of one that was stuffed so it could hardly hold any more coin, then you were far less likely to get it cut or forpeople to try to cheat you as much. Of course, if people didn't try to cheat you, it wouldn't be business would it? Stuffing the purse back with it's leftover coin back into it's location in the left sleeve of her dress she turned to the inkeeper who had busied themselves pouring some beverage.

"Excuse me, I'm not from around here. Is there anywhere around that would be a good place to stop?" The innkeeper was slightly puzzled but then spoke up. "Euh... Shure. Yeah. I know the place. I've been hearing around from people who come a visiting our fine city that the Magical University is the best in the world. No lie! We get a lot of people that visit here just to visit people who are studying." The Magical University? she always enjoyed watching magic. It was so surreal and it was so nice to see these people's dedication pay off with these complex arrays of incantations and such. She smiled and slipped a tip to the innkeeper mouthing "Thank you" on her way out.

So just like that, she was on her way to the Magic University. It took her a short while to find it but soon she was standing in the front lobby of the school. But at the same time it was a problem. While the inkeeper had suggested this place it WAS a school, not a library. Well, still, she didn't come here for nothing. Perhaps she could take a look around.

And so started her exploration of the school starting with whichever direction she happened to choose.

Antony sat in the biggest inn in Taris, staring at the people on the main floor. There was nothing interesting going on, but it was better if he wasn't seen around here. Causing a commotion wouldn't be worth it, especially since what was once their safe haven was now enemy territory. The Legion met around Britiania, since no one could hurt them there, and they were close to enemy territory. Now they had to meet on the border of Tesr. Today they were passing through, and Antony was known as John Funteyn.

One of his fellow Legion members stepped into the bar. He only knew him by his alias, Edmond Brook. Legion members were only supposed to be seen with each other when delivering a message, or on a mission, so this had to be important. Edmond took a seat next to Antony very casually, and began to speak.

"E.R fled into Britiania," said Edmond. "The Legion is to watch her every move, bosses orders."

"Watch E.R?" asked Antony. The Legion's members were already thinning, we didn't need to put more units on a petty noble like her. "What could we use with her? What could she know?"

"We don't the whole situation yet," said Edmond. "We don't know why she left, all we can do is watch."

Antony sighed. "So are we searching Britiania until we find her?"

"We already have agents all over, she's bound to come to us first," said Edmond with a laugh.

Antony grunted, and looked over to the inn desk. "Speak of the devil..."

Edmond followed Antony's eyes, and smiled when he saw what Antony was seeing. Elayne Rembrant, E.R, had entered the inn, with a mesmerized look on her face. "What did I tell ya?" said Edmond.

"Go over there," said Antony quietly, making a hand gesture toward the noble. Edmond quickly got up, and stood behind her as if he was waiting in line. When the noble finally walked out, Edmond asked a quick question, and then walked back to Antony.

"She's going to the Magical Institution?" he said.

Antony thought for a second. "Alright, tell the Legion that I'm following a lead. I'm going to follow her. Feel free to take my room."

"Gotcha, be careful," said Edmond with a nod. Antony quickly left the inn, and found his horse Bree. He tended to her for a few minutes, wanting to give E.R a head start. When Bree started to get angsty, Antony got on her, and began to ride to The Magic Institution. At some points, when the road got flat, he could barely see her horse in the distance. Luckily Bree was bred to be quieter than other horses, but it's not like E.R would be able to hear Bree anyway.

He was shortly at The Magic Institution, the noble's horse already there. She couldn't' have gone that far. He walked into The Magic Institution, and found an open door. Antony went through it, and there she was, E.R.

"Excuse me!" he shouted, pulling down the hood on his robes. "I think I've seen you before," said Antony as he got closer to her. "Have we met before?"

The first thing that she noticed about the man was his amber eyes. The second was the amount of armor he was wearing. What kind of man would wear so much armor? He must have been a warrior of some sort, if not a knight. Why would a knight be wandering about? But any thoughts on why he was there were swept aside when she saw his eyes sweep over her, searching for something. Whatever it was, he didn't seem to find it, and his tense body relaxed slightly. And so did her's. Then he spoke.

"Hello, what is someone like you doing out here on the road all by yourself? It's dangerous on roads like these."

Good question. What was she doing here? He deserved some sort of response, so she muttered, "I... don't know..."

After she had muttered her response, somewhat lamely, she noticed the knight's eyes dart from the wagon and then to her neck. She subconsciously put her hand to the collar that somehow felt like it belonged there. Focused on the collar, she jumped when when he heard his next line.

"My name is Delryn Revlis, I insist you let me escort you to your destination, especially in times like this; you never know who might be on these roads."

Well, that was kind of him. She bowed slightly, and said, "If you insist, Sir. If you could lead the way to town, I would be most appreciative."

Ensyn had packed as much as he could in his pack. He couldn't tell when he would be back, and there was no doubt they would search his residence. Everything of any importance was either with him or had been thrown in the fire, except for some misleading articles that would make them think he knew nothing. Of course, that was true, in a way. He had no idea what the were looking for. He just knew some of the people who wanted to find out things. And that wasn't a good thing either.

As he started his flight, he saw someone, or maybe someones in front of the school. Normally that would have given him pause, but there was something about one of them that made him pause. Even as it hit him, he hid before they saw him. That women had been a noble back in Erubra! The name escaped him at the moment, but she had been. And she had been competent, from all he recalled. But who was that she was talking to? He crept closer. It might be adventitious to know.

Delryn smiled as the two set off, he had slowed his pace for the girl, she seemed some what lost, or confused. Perhaps this was the starting point only time would find out from here.

"So.....Do you have a name or am i to call you as mi lady?"

He asked calmly and casually, he was never one to care for the titles that was why perhaps he was wear he was now a paladin of the people instead of the state or church. he glanced around he could recall more peaceful visits in his youth while learning the ways of faith and war. but with this latest spree it was times like this perhaps he would be needed the most. as would any others willing to stand up for the people. she seemed to be a quite girl which wasn't a problem but it was unusual circumstances still and something was telling him that this was just the beginning

"you said before you didnt know, what you were doing out here? why is that, by all means if im being to intrusive feel free to tell me, just seems strange to find you all alone and you not knowing how you got there."

Delryn said cooly as he reached into a little bag and pulled out a little dried meat and offered it to the girl,

"its not much but its better than nothing till we get to the city. and somewhear whear we can get you a warm meal."

Elayne was wandering around a lecture hall as her first stop. How do they teach magic here? She walked down to the front of the room and under the central desk she found a few books. Sitting down in the deceptively comfy chair she flipped one open to the first page. Of course she couldn't understand half of it, but it still seemed interesting nonetheless. How could these people understand all of this? It was quite amazing really, and it really showed why it took a full lifetime devoted to Mgic to learn even the most basic of thigs. Still, there were people her age that were reading this and learning about this. It has to make you wonder about what those people could possibly do in the future.

Hwever she only started fantasizing about that when she was inturrupted. A man came towards her and asked if they'd met. Well, perhaps they had, she'd met a lot of people, but best to go on her first instinct. "I'm sorry, no, I don't think we've met. You see, I'm from up west of here. I'm visiting Tesr for some time, and I only just got here." All words were true, but at the same time, all of them were misleading. suddenly she remembered she was sitting in the teacher's chair and she calmly put the book back and exited the seat. So instead she walked to the front of the desk and sat on the wood surface she had just circled. "What's your name?" she began to the stranger. Perhaps he went to this school.

Antony smiled. He realized that talking to E.R was a bad idea, but it was too late now.He might be able to find out information about why she left for The Legion, but she was lying through her teeth, so that might not be possible.

"I'm John Funteyn, I'm a travelling pianist of sorts," said Antony. "I wanted to find out if there was any need for entertainment here, but after some surveying, I don't think they would need me here," he said. Walking up to the desk, Antony said, "You look a lot like one of those nobles from Erubra. What was her name...Elayne Rembrant?" Antony smiled, he wanted to see what she would have to say.

Gillian had set off from the town that cared for him for the past few months. They said he’d always be welcome and he liked that the idea of settling down some were with people you know and like, feeling safe and secure and having some where to return to every night he smiled as he walked along the dirt path thinking about how nice it would be to settle down some where. He had been on the road so long that he’d forgotten how nice the comforts of home could be and was looking forward to returning to Britania but he knew he couldn’t settle down just jet he knew that he couldn’t live with himself if he let his fathers killer live he needed revenge and with that he quickened his pace slightly determined to serve Britania like his father taught him. The town he had been staying at was quite close to the border of Tesr but he knew it was still going to be a long journey but he could half the time it would take if he could get a horse as he turned a corner on the dirt track he came to a cobble road and could see that in the distance the cobble road came to a town. He could see the sun was starting to set so he decided to go to the town and seek an inn. In the morning he could stock up on items he needed mainly food and hopefully buy a horse. He knew that by horse he could make it out of Tesr and make good progress on his goal of Britania. Entering the town he initially didn’t see an inn but after a couple of minutes of wondering found one it didn’t look like the friendliest place but it would have to do Gillian walked in and could see a couple of heads turn as he walked to the bar he knew he was being watched but paid no attention to it as he reached the bar a drunk man fell from his stool and slumped onto the floor the man didn’t move but it was obvious he was drunk Gillian lent against the bar and within seconds the bartender approached him “what yah buyin” the bartender said loudly making sure he was heard over the noise of the inn Gillian replied “a room” a smile came across the bartenders face “your look like your from outa town mister” Gillian quickly butted in “just the room please” the bartender surprised stepped back slightly “ok buddy just tryin to make small talk” the bartender stepped forward again restraining from showing his anger the bartender gritted his teeth and said “5 silver a night” Gillian handed over the money “stairs to your right five door down” the bartender snarled Gillian moved towards the stairs and in the corner of his eye noticed the bartender move down the bar and talk to two unsavoury looking characters sat in the shadows Gillian continued up the stars and moved down to the fifth door, as he reached for the handle he noticed the two men the bartender talked to had just reached the top of the stairs Gillian turned the door handle but it was locked, looking back down the corridor the two men were getting rather close one was a small skinny man with a knife in his belt his skin was pale and dirty and his cloths were damaged and worn the other man was a tale dark skinned man the same size as Gilliam he wore dark trousers and had bandages strapped around his knuckles and wrist he had damaged and no shirt. Gilliam looked at the door once again then turned back to the two men and they stopped about a meter away from him. Gilliam stared at the two men for a few seconds then the skinny one started to laugh “there’s no need to be scared mate, your going to a better place ….. Probably” the skinny man said then continued to laugh the tale man smiled and said “hurry it up already, im gettin bored” the skinny man stopped laughing and took a small step forward “don’t worry this aint because you pissed of the bartender we’ve been doing this for ages now killin outa towners and taken there money it’s a good business ya know” and with that the skinny man lunged forward pulling his knife and went for Gillian’s face, Gillian quickly stepped backwards making the skinny miss and stumble, and as the skinny man stumbled Gillian landed a powerful knee in the centre of his chest braking a few of his ribs and badly winding him. The skinny man went flying back past the tall man and landed on the ground writhing for air the tall man stepped forward and said “you think your pretty good don’t you, then try this on for size” the tall man stepped forward and unleashed a high kick but as he brought his leg round he realised the corridor was to small and he banged his leg on the wall, Gillian smirked at the mans stupidity and landed an easy punch to his gut making the man stagger back The skinny man had now caught his breath and stood up again as the tall man staggered back towards him, the skinny man step past the tall man as the staged back and fell on his ass “ you ass hole the skinny man said” while pulling out a short sword “I wanted to do this nice clean and quick but you went and broke my ribs, now im gonna make your death painful and slow” Gillian just stared at him again “you stupid basterd, you cant use that big sword in a narrow corridor like this it’ll hit the walls or ceiling, so how you gonna block this” the skinny man started to charge and as he did Gillian pulled his claymore from his back And swung it horizontally down and sure enough it did hit the ceiling but Gillian’s immense strength coupled with the sharpness of the and blade its weight just made his claymore tear through the ceiling and smash down onto the skinny mans head, splitting his head in two and killing him instantly. The tall man stood up brandishing a long knife raising it above his head he charged forward at Gillian, as the tall man reached him Gillian through a quick left punch with his ferrus gauntlet into the blade the man was swinging down onto him the blade struck the gauntlet but did no damage instead the knife just bounced off it and out of the tall mans hand the tall man staggered back a step then bulled another smaller knife from the back of his trousers, he swung it up trying to catch Gilliam under the chin but Gillian stepped back quickly and grabbed the mans arm as it went passed his face. Gillian twisted harm slightly making him drop his second knife, then he dropped his claymore and grabbed the falling knife with his right hand and brought it up into the bottom of the tall mans chin killing him. Gillian let go of the man and let his body drop to the ground, it landed with a heavy thud but no one downstairs at the bar heard any thing probably because its to loud down there or there all to drunk to notice Gillian picked up his claymore and turned back to the door he tried he handle again just encase but it was still locked so he slammed his hand down hard on the old rusted handle hand lock breaking them off and allowing him access to the room he stepped in and saw a room with nothing in it but a bed it was old and mouldy and in certain areas the roof was leaking Gillian sat down on the bed cleaned his clay more and put it back in its sheath. He then moved the bed so that the foot of it blocked the door then went to sleep in it. Gillian woke up early the next morning he looked out the window and most of the town seemed to be still asleep, he then moved the bed and left the room the two bodies were still there so no one must have come into this corridor last night which was pretty lucky. Gillian then walked down the corridor then down the stairs he saw the bartender cleaning glasses but the bartender didn’t see him, Gillian walked up to the bar and stood there the bartender was concentrating on getting the glass he was cleaning spotless so he didn’t look up and all he said was “what ya havin then” Gillian didn’t reply and just stood there for a few seconds “the bartender became angry and shouted “WHAT YOU BUYIN” looking up the bartender went pale like he’d seen a ghost “but your supposed to be dead “ he stammered. Gilliam threw a powerful right punch in to the bartenders face throwing his head back and smashing it into the bottles and glasses behind him he then slumped down unconscious bleeding out the front and back of his head, Gillian then leaned over the bar and took back his 5 silver with compensation of another 10 silver, he slipped the money into his money pouch and turned round to see what the people in the inn thought of these actions but to Gillian’s luck there was no one any were the place was completely cleared out. Gillian walked out of the inn feeling happy about how fortunate and lucky he’s just been he looked dup and down the street for somewhere to buy a horse when at that moment a man riding a horse leading two other horses came round the corner, Gilliam whistled to get the mans attention and it succeeded the man turned to Gillian asking what he wanted “what do you want and don’t whistle so loud you’ll wake people up” Gillian stepped closer “I need a horse you selling either of them” the man looked at the two horses and replied “yeah 90 silver each” Gillian thought about it for a second then said “wait right there” Gillian then returned to the inn entering he walked straight to the bar and was about to lean over when the bartender started to pull him self up using the bar as a support. Once again Gillian harshly punched him in the face knocking him out once again, Gillian then reached over the bar and took another 90 silver and returned to the horse sales man Gillian exchanged the 90 silver for the horse and thought it would be best if he left town straight away, so he did riding out into the wilderness once again. After siding foe a lengthy period of time he crossed the border out of Tesr and was now much closer to Britania feeling proud of the distance he had achieved he stopped by a river to let his horse have a drink and rest he lay in the shade under a big oak tree and thought about Britania and how it could have changed since he left.

"Do you have a name or am I to call you as 'My Lady?'"

The name took the girl by surprise. Well, she had a name of sorts, she supposed, but that wasn't really her true name. It was the name that the man who has saved her had given. It wasn't her name, so she wasn't sure she should be using it, but.. He ahd told her to bare it well. She said, "My name is Lysa, I suppose, or at least that is the closest thing I have to a name." She didn't know why, but she didn't want to reveal the fact that she had lost her memories. She would try and fake it as well as she could for now.

Then he asked another question. "You said before you didn't know what you were doing out here. Why is that? By all means if I'm being too intrusive feel free to tell me, just it seems strange to find you all alone and you not knowing how you got there."

Hmm... She didn't want to say that she felt the question was a little intrusive, and he was being really kind, so she wanted to answer him. The only problem was that she really had no idea. She thought for a second, then said, "Well, I was riding around on a horse when I was suddenly let off out here." That wasn't a lie, really. It had all happened, and that was why she was there. The next thing he said made her much happier. He offered her a piece of meat and said, "It's not much, but it's better than nothing 'til we get to the city, and somewhere where we can get you a warm meal."

That was kind. She muttered, "Thank you very much," and started gnawing on the dried meat. The loss of memories must have made her hungry.

her answers seemed somewhat fabricated, but that was ultimately her business. the two continued walking as the approached the capital the city was in view now and probley less than a mile away as they exited the forest trail He wasnt sure how hard it would be to enter the capital he had never done it as a commoner before but there was only one way to find out. Delryn looked at his companion and smiled softly as the aproced the main gate to the city.

"are you ready?"

He asked softly as he gazed upon the city

A flash of surprise lit her face. So he did know who she was! That made things more difficult. She had hoped along with her escape from Eruba she might make it away from the barbs and the daggers of simple words. But alas, it seemed not so now. She was forced to reassess this man.

And do so with extreme caution.

The surprise faded from her face in the blink of an eye and instead a playful smile replaced it. "Ah, there is a good reason for that. For one looks like themselves, no? A pianist you say? Perhaps we may have met before. I'm tremendously sorry, but I am not very good with names. I meet a lot of different people. I'm sorry if I forgot you, deepest apologies." She gave a quick half bow to that, emphasizing her point. What did this man want? HE obvioulsy had business with her, he could have been more discreet about that. But WHAT? She had only left Eruba and no nobles from there would be willing to hire an assasin without time to plan out a story. However it would be easy to alibi if somebody else sent somebody seeking her life.

So with her fears for her life put away for now she started to assess the man more. But overall he seemed... unremarkable. Nothing extremely momorable or distinguishing about him. But if so, why did he say a pianist? Mastering the art of a piano took much time and nobles only sought out the creme de la creme. So a boy his age claiming not only to be a pianist, but one to have met her? Quite... intreguing.

"I was on my way around the university. I heard it was a wonderful place to visit. Care to join me?" She asked as she slid off the desk and moved closer to him, still with her court smile on her face. It wasn't that she particularly wanted his company, but in her presence he wouldn't have the time to think about her, as strange as that seened. She would be playing head games with him as much as she could, trying to riddle him out if he accepted. But of course, if he declined then she would also know that he knew enough about the court to stay out of their business. Either way, she would learn something about him.

"Are you ready?"

Lysa nodded. Why wouldn't she be? Between standing here and freezing and going into the city, it was pretty obvious which was a good choice. She took a step forward, then suddenly, everything around her disappeared. Then something appeared.

She saw herself and Derlyn walking down the road into the Tasir. Suddenly, a group of four men came out of the bushes and attacked the pair. As Delryn was distracted by three men who had gone for him, she saw herself get dragged away by the one who had not. The men led her to a group of tents, tied her hands behind her back, and blindfolded her. They then presented her to a man decorated with medals and honors. Then he presented her to a man with white hair and eyes as red as the sun. He smiled, threw her on a horse, and started to gallop away with her. Snow fell from black clouds above as her sight went dim again.
With a start, she gasped. What had that been? She was standing stock still, and everything looked the same as it had before she had seen... Whatever that had been. Looking up, she saw dark clouds were indeed starting to gather. Besides them were some bushes. The gate was there too. Her blood went cold. She yelled, "Look out!" As she did, four men appeared from the bushes.

Ensyn was still covertly spying on what the pair at the entrance of the University were saying, and he had to say, he didn't like where it was going. That girl was definitely a noble from Erubra, there was no doubt in his mind. He had no idea who the man was, but he had the feeling he wasn't who he said he was. He had used a spell that let him detect lies, and these two were bathing in the red light that appeared to alert him when falsehood was told. Whatever they were saying, he the feeling that lies and half-truths were flying hard and heavy. And yet, he didn't have too much time left. His brother and the army were to come at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and by his best judgment, it was maybe 11 and a half. Sure, there was plenty of time, but the earlier he left, the less it looked like he was fleeing his brother. Still, he did have time to inquire what was going on with those two.

He briskly walked out his hiding as if he had only been passing through. As neither had seen him, it would look like he really had just arrived. He approached them and said, "Hello, gentleman and lady, and welcome to the Britanian Magic University. Might I suggest you come inside before you freeze to death out here?. It has gotten cold of late, and I would hate to see two such mine visitors freeze upon our doorstep, especially on the very day the honorable Erubran Royal Army has deigned to visit us."

"Look out!"

Delryns training immediately kicked in as he put himself between the men and Lysa. Delryn's sword was already unsheathed as the attackers approached. Delryns amber eyes seemed to light up as the runes glowed dimly on the blade he drew. the first thug came in from the front drawing a short sword. Delryn swung his blade diagonally towards the ground the thug went to block the obvious strike, and as the two blades meshed there was a small burst of light as the thugs weapon shattered delryns weapon digging into the assailants shoulder. as the the thug from the rear came in as well to make a grab for the girl Delryn with drew his weapon from the shoulder of his first advisary and put the hilt into the mans face coming from behind. as they stagerd away Delryn pulled his shield off his back and spoke in a dangerous low tone.

"My name is Delryn Revlis, the wayward leave now and you may be spared."

Delryn assumed a defensive stance puting himself betweeen as many of the thugs as possible and Lysa. He wouldn't fail her

Antony was surprised. He didn't expect E.R to give herself away like that. Maybe she wasn't fleeing after all - visiting perhaps? The Legion had gotten false calls before, and they had put them in more trouble than this ever could. Her offer was a tempting one, as he could learn a lot more about the situation before the slow intelligence could build up. This girl was smart, smarter than Antony had thought anyway. She definitely wasn't telling the entire truth, no matter what she was doing.

From behind him, Antony heard a voice. "Hello, gentleman and lady, and welcome to the Britanian Magic University. Might I suggest you come inside before you freeze to death out here?. It has gotten cold of late, and I would hate to see two such mine visitors freeze upon our doorstep, especially on the very day the honorable Erubran Royal Army has deigned to visit us."

The Eruban Army? Antony turned around, and saw what might have been a greeter? Or a student? He wasn't sure. But if Eruban's army was coming around, this was not a place where any Legion members wanted to be.

Antony turned back to E.R, not acknowledging the newcomer. "It's a lovely offer, madame," he said with a bow, "but I don't think I have the time right now - places to be." As he got himself back up, he said, "I'm sorry for not recognizing you at first, it has been an honor to be in your presence. I do hope we get to meet again." And with that, Antony walked out of the school, and got on Bree. He needed to get back to the inn, and get Edmond out of there. The Legion needed to steer clear of this place for the time being.

With the weather being cold as it was Athkin pulled his red scarf up over his nose, snugged his gantlents and pulled his cloak tighter around himself. Looking ahead he could now see the main gates to Tasir and the people passing through them. Continuing to walk onward to the city he spotted an odd pair along the road ahead of him what looked like a small child and a large warrior or sorts. Pondering for a moment as to why they may be traveling together his gaze starting to wonder around falling back on the city’s gates. The size and scale of them had Athkin staring in a bit of awe of how large Britania’s capital city was compared to the small village area he had been studying in the last couple years. All of a sudden hearing a shout to "look out" his attention was drawn back to the people ahead of him.

The warrior was working to defend the child from four attackers and seemingly doing a good job. Having injured one on the shoulder and hit another in the face with the hilt of his sword the odds seemed fair. Not wanting to get into too much trouble but not wanting to risk their safety on possible odds. Athkin quickly patted himself to make sure all the hidden daggers were where they should be, tighten his grip on his staff and started to run toward the fight. Wanting to avoid any fighting himself Athkin ran up to and past the fight but scooped the child up under his arm while going by. His plan was to leave her with any guards he could find at the gates and come back to help the warrior. In a vain attempt to avoid a misunderstanding he yelled over his shoulder to the warrior,

"I'll be back shortly I promise."

Trust..... thats all he could do at the moment. Delryn's stance qucikly shifted into an offensive stance as he shield bashed the one infront of him with the bad shoulder and spun around putting himself between the gates and the attackers. He quickly yelled back. "Keep the Girl safe. Lysa I will Find you again I promise!" that was his sole mission now as he stared the attackers down occasionally the runes on his sword lighting up as his energy travled through it this was one of the many secrets of the paladin that had carried him so far and made him deadly in battle.

Elayne ran a hand through her hair as she watched the man walk away. Well, that told her nothing. Oh, well. He might stay away from her for a while now, which she sincerely hoped he did. She didn't want to get more mixed up with politics here. Although it seemed politics tended to folow her around. The Eruban Royal Army was visiting. Well, that simply made this trip into the Acadamy more enticing. She turned to the man around her age that had appeared in the doorway and smiled. "Why thank you, I think I will. Although the Eruban Royal Army? That certainly is a surprise. I hadn't heard about that."

After talking she quickly shut her mouth. Had she already said too much? At least she knew why she was rambling. His face seemed farmiliar somehow. She could have sworn she'd seen it before, but she was unsure as to of where. It certainly was a connundrum. She HAD met this man before, but where? Well, the quickest way to find out wasto ask.

"Pardon me, but may I ask for your name?"

Re: [OOC] Gears of Time

Well, no one moved, but snake's character did come over to the group. Everyone is still in the same place, so you can post an answer if you want. I still intend to move everyone over to the cuprum facility.

Re: [OOC] Gears of Time

Chari I did get your pm but now that I'm not able to send any pm's anymore so I'll have to reply here. Thanks for letting me know my character had been addressed directly the only reason why I hadn't posted a response to it was that in Snakeey's post it (was edited?) seems to have moved four character including Ensyn to the next location and then addresses Ensyn. All in all I figured I would just wait to see how you answered then post accordingly.

Re: [OOC] Gears of Time

Wheee, still the only person to post in this. Just to put this down in a place where it won't get buried, I will be gone from Sunday to Saturday.

Re: [OOC] Gears of Time

I will be leaving tomorrow until Sunday, just a heads up ^^
