Synopsis
2050. Scientists discover small cultures of Oracle Cells - sentient, single-celled omnivores that devour everything on sight. These cells multiply and evolve at a breakneck pace, clustering together to form the first Aragami; beasts capable of immense destruction, impervious to all known firepower.

The year is now 2071.
70% of all life has been devoured by the Aragami.

Mankind has retreated behind the walls and technology of the Fenrir Corporation - the last bastion of humankind. Under their command stand the God Eaters, a group of enhanced humans capable of wielding the God Arcs; weapons developed from the Aragami themselves, and the only thing capable of destroying them.
They have protected you restlessly for years, and now you are part of their ranks. You have been called forward to be tested for God Arc compatability.

But all is not well within the walls of the Fenrir North America branch. Rumours of Aragami far more powerful than any encountered before have reached the ears of Fenrir. Strange sightings, and stranger destruction, is threatening the fragile peace of the surrounding Ghetto...

Player Introduction
Welcome to God Eater: Fenrir's Howl! This is a spin-off RPG taking place around the same time of the game God Eater Burst, in the region once called North America. You will play a God Eater - either a new recruit or an previously employed - dispatched to uncover the truth surrounding the murky rumours that are spreading through the Ghetto like wildfire.

In between missions, you will be able to socialise in the Fenrir North America Branch, otherwise known as 'The Hub'. During missions, you will be dispatched to fight the Aragami or investigate these rumours - sometimes both!
Teamwork is vital for survival as a God Eater, so be sure to get to know your comrades!

God Eaters and God Arcs
A God Eater is an enhanced human being, simply put. During the aptitude test, they are infused with Oracle Cells and Bias Factor, a chemical that stops the Oracle Cells devouring their host. A bracelet is fused to their dominant wrist, depended on handedness, and regularly injects this Bia Factor into the body to prevent further infection by the cells.

There are two types of God Eater:
-Old-Type (Wields either a Blade, or a Gun type God Arc.)
-New-Type (A new breed of God Eater that wields a God Arc capable of switching between the two.)

The Oracle Cells are bound to a God Arc, which is a gargatuan weapon linked to the God Eater by those same Oracle Cells. Each is unique to their leader - anyone who wields a God Arc not bound to them risks being devoured or, worse, turning into an Aragami themselves. Attached to thie core is either a Blade, a Gun, or in the case of New-Types, both. It is these weapons that make a God Eater so powerful.

There are three types of Blade, and Gun:
Blade
-Short Blade (Fast weapons capable of swift piercing attacks.)
-Long Sword (Average weapons used like a traditional sword.)
-Buster Blade (Huge broadswords useful for their crushing strength.)

Gun
-Sniper (The longest range Gun type, employing powerful piercing Laser shots.)
-Assault (Rapid-fire Guns that lack special properties, but are great all-purpose weapons.)
-Blast (Heavy cannons that deliver decimating explosive shots.)

Also available to God Eaters that use Blade type Arcs is the ability to cause their weapon to grow a pair of organic, Oracle Cell jaws from the hilt. This is the Devour function, and its primary purpose is to obtain the cores of Aragami, which can then be used as materials in God Arc development.

Fenrir's Structure

God Eaters in the North American Branch are divided into three units. However, due to the small numbers of God Eaters, they are frequently lumped together in teams. The three units are the Suppresion Unit, the Defence Unit, and the Medical Unit. The Suppression Unit deals with most requests from the Fenrir Corporation, such as eliminating threatening Aragami activity. The Defence Unit is responsible for the protection of the Outer Ghetto. The Medical Unit works alongside both, dealing with immediate first aid and more serious rescue operations.

Please fill in the following character skeleton when applying. You may choose to be a new recruit, or a previously established God Eater. Please specify which you wish to be. There will be spaces available for the Leaders of each Unit, and will be reviewed based on your application should you wish to be one.

Locations
As the roleplay progresses, more areas will be added. For now, these will do.
The Hub
During downtime, God Eaters live in The Hub. It is a large complex, self-sustaining and housing all the amenities necessary for everyday life. This includes a small gym, rooms for each God Eater, leisure centres, sick bays, and a mess hall.

Broken Meadow
Formerly Central Park, in New York. The area is now comparable to a deciduous woodland, teeming with Aragami both small and large. In several locations are groups of impenetrable, massive pods, which are apparently harmless.

Babel's Nest
The immediate outskirts of the Outer Ghetto. Beyond the Anti-Aragami Wall lies a ruined city, decimated by the Aragami. Small bands of survivors eke out an existence in these areas, but they are few and far between.

General Flow
This RPG will be roughly divided into the following steps.

1. DOWNTIME: During this time, players will be able to socialise and relax.
2. MISSION/BRIEFING: Players will be called together to take part in a mission. Not all players will take part in the mission - generally speaking, between one and four will undertake it. If it is a BRIEFING, then all players will attend a general meeting that advances the plot.
3. AFTERMATH: The plot will advance, and the players will return to The Hub for DOWNTIME.

If you have read all this (and I agree, it's a lot) then please put "I'm ready for the Aptitude Test!" at the top of your submission, followed by the position you'd like to take as a Recruit, or as Leader, if you so wish. If you choose neither, please specify what kind of role you would like within the Unit you have chosen.

I hope to see you soon. Welcome to Fenrir.

Rules

1. No God-Modding, Auto-Hitting, etc. Follow the flow of the combat during missions, and respond accordingly.
2. Do not kill other players without their permission, or mine. Similarly, don't kill off the NPC's.
3. Keep the romance and violence at a PG-17 level.
4. As GM I have final say, and all that jazz.
5. The usual rules of RPGateway.

Re: [OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

Yeah, I got that reply.
Eh... If it gets to Sunday and no-one's joined, I'm calling this a dead roleplay. Should've done an interest check beforehand, really.

Re: [OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

I did send you a reply to your PM stating that I've been on hiatus for so long that I don't have any connections to pull. I'm not sure if I can double now either. I'm in two other threads, along with some other things I'm working on. I'm sorry I can't help. ><

Re: [OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

Uh... Are people checking this thread, at all? I'm not getting a lot of communication or confirmation that I've been heard.

Re: [OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

Hm... We need one more God Eater, preferably from another unit. I'm gonna give the recruiting thread a little more time, but can you guys try and find some people, too? Try contacts and message people who're looking for roleplays.

Thanks,
WW.

Re: [OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

Howdy, Korrye. I said this in the PM, but welcome to the team!
If you have any ideas, too, feel free to discuss them.

Re: [OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

Hey all, I'm Korrye. I'm excited to get the ball rolling on this one! I'm playing a new type god eater, Amber. If you have any relationship or plot ideas for her and your characters let me know.

[OOC] God Eater: Fenrir's Howl

Hello, everybody! Welcome to the OOC thread for God Eater: Fenrir's Howl!
Access the IC area here.

Express your interest for reserving slots here, and all that. I'll keep you posted on the progression of the roleplay as we go along, as well as when it'll actually start. We'll need a fair bit of interest to get this thing going - at least four God Eaters. Including mine, that means I need three other people to get the ball rolling.

Enjoy! Let's make this a good one.
