God Name: The Dark Emperor Erebuz

Title: God of Rage, Hate, Suffering, and the Inner Darkness within all hearts

Gender:Male

Alignment: Neutral Evil with Chaotic and Lawful tendencies.

God Appearance: Erebuz appears in many forms... He can emerge as a formless cloud of ash, smoke, and darkness that consumes everything in its path, a four-armed winged Dark Serpent with a stinging tail, a living shadow with dark feathered wings and featureless face, or even a fair prince with angelic wings and a warm kind smile...

Personality: Erebuz considers himself the incarnation of the darker emotions within the hearts of mortals. As long as there is hate, rage, or sorrow within the darkest corners of hearts, there is Erebuz, for that is where his power comes from. Even if his Dark Legion is vanquished and his lands cleansed, he will simply go into a dormant state. He is sadistic, malicious, tyrannical, and probably insane. However, by no means is he reckless. Erebuz is also calculating, a master tactician, and a master deceiver. His ultimate goal is to consume the world in shadow, choke out the life, level the civilizations with his dark armies and brimstone from the heavens, and rule the remains with an iron fist.

Opinion of mortals: "They are nothing but a blight upon this world, and should be cleansed through fire and shadow. They live to serve; they live to fight; they live to die. They are but expendable pawns in the Grand Design. Their hearts and souls were born in darkness, and to darkness they shall return!"

Image
Godā€™s Domain: The domain of the Erebuz is a dark one... A massive gothic fortress, built into an active volcano, marks the center. The land is covered by a barren wasteland of ash, poisonous fumes, and the tortured wandering souls of his enemies. There is no light there, for black thunderous clouds have blotted out the sun and stars. Lightning illuminates the horrifying landscape while acid rain continues in an eternal downpour. Within the obsidian walls of the fortress resides an endless dark legion of the Eribim, creatures born from the will of Erebuz, who await only the word of their master to pillage the world and set it ablaze. This is where the darkness within the hearts of mortals returns to after death.

Avatar Name: Narkaloxan

Avatar Appearance: Clad in the blackest armor, Narkaloxan stands as the second in command of the Dark Emperor. The image of a skull is formed on his shoulder plates and boots. Dark runes of death, darkness, and hate cover his armor while a black helmet shrouds his face in complete darkness. His left hand clenches an enormous broadsword with a jagged, stone-like blade decorated with runes. A dark flame consumes the blade.
Narkaloxan rides upon a winged serpent-like creature. Its armored scales are black as night and emit a dark aura similar to its rider. The eyes of the beast betray a remarkable intelligence and awareness. Little is known about this steed, but it is speculated that is a being created by Erebuz to serve as the mount, bodyguard, and companion of Narkaloxan. [More will be revealed about the relationship between them as the RP progresses]

Personality: Narkaloxan, like his master, is a sadistic tyrant. He is loyal only to Erebuz, and cares nothing for the wellbeing of mortals. Chosen as the Captain of the Erebim, he stands as the highest ranking officer in the Dark Legion. The dark warrior constantly hears the whispers of his master, and obeys his word without question.
Being the head of the Erebim, he has mastered the art of ā€œThe Suffererā€™s Wrath.ā€ His blade constantly hungers for the souls of the innocent, and thus he hungers as well. The unending hunger and suffering transforms into dark hatred and fiery rage which he uses as a powerful weapon against his enemies in battle. Narkaloxan is also a master at strategizing and is fairly level-headed. He is patient and is usually the voice of reason and the mind that guides the blade of Gotā€™mog, his top general.

Magic Abilities:

The Lightslayer: Whenever Narkaloxanā€™s dark blade, Lightslayer, cleaves into flesh, its victim is teleported into the Realm of the Emperor, where the light within their soul is torn away and, depending on the strength of their light, is consumed. The darkness within them is separated and sent to the deepest dungeons of the Black Citadel, where its fate is yet to be known by mortals.

Shadow Strike: Narkaloxan has the ability to pass through the Shadow Realm in the midst of combat and appear in any location within a certain distance. Any further than a hundred feet than the outcome becomes virtually unpredictable. Using this teleportation, he is able to easily skirmish behind the front line and decimate it.

Dark Guardian: When Narkaloxan is severely injured or exhausted, he has the ability to summon a manifestation of Erebuz to defend him while he recovers. However, he is only able to use this once per battle.

Armageddon: If Narkaloxan feels significantly threatened, he is able to go into a ā€œberserk mode.ā€ Filled with the powers of darkness, he strikes down his enemies with dark flames from the Underworld, sending agony, terror, and panic throughout their ranks. Pools of darkness form at his feet and pour out strange shadowy creatures from the deep. The sky goes dark as he reveals the incredible power of The All Consuming Darknessā€¦ If you value your life and the sanctity of your soul, you should flee from his rampage. However, when his frenzy ends, Narkaloxan is left weak and exhausted and must be allowed to rest before returning to combat.

Hero(es): Gotā€™mog is a creature of both fire and shadow. He stands about twice the height of a human. His skin is a dark red with several small flames burning, igniting, and dissipating all across his body. Long, black, curled horns jut out from his forehead while a mane of fire flowed down his shoulders, chest and back. Glowing red steel plates protect his, arms, legs chest, and back while leaving his joints free. A long, lizard-like, spined tail drags along the ground behind him while a massive flaming sword is clenched in his clawed hands. By his enemies and underlings he is called the ā€œFiery General.ā€

The General is frequently reckless and is famous for his temper. He will charge straight into battle even if his forces are outnumbered fifty to one. However, he is adept at focusing his rage into his enemies. Gotā€™mog is also renowned for his incredible strength and swordsmanship with his ability to cleave straight through most lines of steel and plate. In addition to swordplay, Gotā€™mog also utilizes a fair amount of fire and shadow magic.

Rank/Reason: Gotā€™mog commands the mortal armies of the Shadow Lands. He strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies, courage and zeal in the hearts of his soldiers, and fills them with an unnatural thirst for carnage.

Personality: He is called the ā€œFiery Generalā€ for good reason. Gotā€™mog is incredibly hotheaded, temperamental, and is legendary for his temper. There was one instance where one of his assistants did not fully polish his armor, and then Gotā€™mog hung him on a flag pole by his entrails.

Image

Hero: Zalā€™hagun the Damned

Rank/Reason: High Priest of the Temple of Erebuz. He is highly renowned by the Cultists for being the only one who was able to cheat death and achieve immortality through his dark magics.

Personality: Zalā€™hagun can be described as incredibly intelligent, cruel, sadistic, and even a bit arrogant. Being immortal, he often sees himself higher than most others. He is also very ritualistic when it comes to performing religious sacraments. The lich shows little if any emotion except when someone undermines his authority or mocks his power.

Image

Hero: Jhag the Strong

Rank/Reason: Foreman of Ulā€™thazal and leader of the Rock Trolls. He oversees the mining operations and production of armor and weapons.

Personality: Jhag is often hot-headed. He is a firm believer in manual labor and does not tolerate laziness or anything less than sweat, tear, and blood filled labor.

Image
Hero: Zulhag the Cruel
Rank/Reason: Foreman of Kulā€™tal Ashwheat fields and Overseer of slave farms.
Personality: As his name suggests, he is cruel and cold-hearted to the thousands of slaves he oversees, and is not above harsh sadistic torture on those who attempt to sow seeds of rebellion and discord, cutting it off at the bud.

Image
Terrain Preference: Mountainous volcanic wastelands and vast underground caverns. The Shadow Lands are surrounded by a massive mountain range with only a single pass giving entrance. This pass is guarded by a wall of black steel twenty feet thick and constantly watched by archers, catapults, andā€¦ other beings.

Name of Kingdom/Empire: The Shadow Lands

Capital: Tartaraz, the City of the Damned. This city houses a massive fortress, the main training grounds for the mortal armies of the Dark Legion, and the portal leading to the Realm of Erebuz

Major Cities:
Maw of Erebuz: Main defense city that guards the mountain pass into the Shadow Lands, ruled by Gotā€™mog
Ulā€™thazal: Mining and smithing city built into a massive cave network under the Mountains of Ulā€™thanak. This is where most of the armor and weapons are made.
Kulā€™tal: Possesses the only fertile fields in the Shadow Lands, and produces the food needed to feed the population.
Alā€™athan: Religious city, home of the Temple of the Erebuz, where daily blood sacrifices are made and Cultists are trained in dark magics.
Arena of Inferno: It is a large volcanic arena for gladiatorial combat and is the only ā€œneutralā€ zone within the Shadow Lands. All nations are welcome to participate in the games by invitation. Participants are provided an escort between the arena and the gate. Those who accept the challenge are given the opportunity to battle powerful and mysterious creatures from the far corners of the world and other participants.

Society:

[People]
The largest part of the populace is made up of what appears to be humans, or at least used to be humans. Living for eons in these unforgiving lands and the deep caverns below the Mountains of Ulā€™thanak and under the dictatorship of their god, the tribes of humans have devolved into cannibalistic, pale skinned, ghoul-like creatures that are virtually blind in direct sunlight. Their skin burns easily from the sunā€™s harmful rays, and thus they have become nocturnal creatures residing in a world without light.

Slaves, captured during wars with other nations and raids on unorganized tribes, make up the second largest part of the population. They labor day and night in the mines and smiths of Ulā€™thazal, toil in the barren, volcanic fields of Kulā€™tal, and also serve as expendable cannon fodder in the military, receiving little if any armor or training. These war captives are even corralled into massive farms like cattle, and then are forced to breed and multiple for the sake of their overlordsā€™ cannibalistic appetite.

The third and smallest part of the population consists of the Erebim, creatures born from the dark will of Erebuz who have ascended from his realm to the physical plane. These beings act as the enforcers of his law and the officers in the Dark Legion. They take the form of massive, bipedal, humanoid hyenas or jackals with a black flame wrapping around their mangy flesh, skin, and fur. Black plate covers them from paw to neck while they carry their large scimitars, shields, and spears.

[Economy]
There is no true ā€œeconomyā€ within the Shadow Lands. Each citizen works toward the common goal of all, and for the glory of Erebuz. However, it is known that they tend to trade things like weapons, armor, food, and slaves.

[Politics]
ā€œWe live to serve. We live to fight. We live to dieā€¦ That is our purpose. We serve the dark will of Erebuz. He teaches us that sorrow and suffering are a natural part of life, and that we should use it to our advantage. We are taught to focus our pain and agony upon the ones who caused it ā€“ the other nations who have condemned us to live in these dark caverns and ash-filled wastelands ā€“ into dark hatred against them. Then we unleash that hatred upon them as a fiery rage on the battle field. However, we should not let the rage rule and consume us, for that will degrade us to nothing more than savage barbarians and animals. Instead, we should master it, focus it, control it, and channel it. Our passion and hate are our weapons, not our masters. This is the Suffererā€™s Wrath. We obey the will of the Dark Emperor. Here, in the Shadow Lands, he is the Alpha, he is the Omega, hereā€¦ his willā€¦ isā€¦ LAW! With the power of the All Consuming Darkness at our side, we shall slaughter all who oppose us! All hail the Emperor! All hail Erebuz!ā€
- Sample of a sermon by an Erebari Cultist

Other:

Elite Soldiers

The Erebim: The Erebim are the ā€œdark angelsā€ of Erebuz. They are made purely from dark energy and cannot feel pain or fear. When they are in battle, they are consumed by a focused bloodlust and wreak havoc upon the ranks of the enemy. There are many different types and species of the Erebim, ranging from the simple Spawn, living shadows that multiply and swarm over the enemy, to the monstrous Dark Titan that hurls boulders and black lightning bolts at the enemy while crushing them with massive broadswords and maces. The most common are the ā€œjackal-menā€, who act as commanding officers in the armies of the mortals, line holders, and bodyguards for Narkaloxan and Gotā€™mog, and the Rak, who are falcon- and vulture-like humanoids adept at archery and javelin throwing.

Image
Muhari: The Muhari are the remnants of an ancient desert warrior people that were assimilated into the Dark Legion. They are legendary for their unnatural agility, strength, stealth, and ability to disappear into the desert. There is a widely believed myth of a small band of these desert warriors that slaughtered an entire army while they slept. It is for these reasons that the Muhari are used as highly skilled elite assassins, bodyguards, skirmishers, and scouts. It should be warned that one should never attempt to combat one of the Muhari alone, in the desert, or at night.
