Synopsis
The world Of Novus-Terra, is a world in the sky. The people of the world escaped a deadly and corrosive air that began to cover the world by fleeing to the sky. After learning that they might never get to return home the ship inhabitants reformed their thoughts. They recovered scraps and debris, that floated up to the sky due to a strange magnetic force that was caused by the miasma. The additions to the ships became so large that multiple ships came together and became cities.
The world exist purely in the sky, no land except for the floating islands where most of the resources that created the sky-cities came from. Now the world faces a time period filled with struggle. Governments have become monarchies, and have strong segregation of the classes. The resources that they relied on are becoming scarce and conflict is beginning between sky-cities.
Pirates are attacking merchant ships and supply frigates, taking whatever they can to ensure their own survival. The population of the cities has become very high, and living conditions have become very poor. A few cities have fallen below the clouds, and an influx of wanderer's, people with no permanent residence in one city, has created crime within the cities.
The last thing, is that one of the two original races that came to the skies is dying out. Elves, who faces extreme prejudice and are often traded as slaves, are becoming few and far between.
The Daedalus's purpose is still shrouded in mystery. They are being tasked missions from an unknown source in the military. You are part of this rag tag crew of adventurers and you might one day uncover the truth below the miasma.
The Sky Cities
Many sky cities have become corrupt favoring the strong and leaving little to the weak. The cities have been separated into three districts.
The Noble district is populated by High ranking military officer's political leaders, Highly regarded scholars and the wealthiest of businessmen. It is by far the smallest district and usually exists at the very top of the sky cities. They have the purest and cleanest water, the cleanest air and the most living space, but few people ever get to see this district.
The Central district is the largest of the three and is composed of many parts, the most important being the docks where ships come and go, large trading centers and housing quarters, hospitals, schools, military barracks, and recreational facilities. Mostly though this areas focus is that of commerce.
The Lower district is the second largest but nowhere near as big as the central district. Because of the shape of sky cities the lower district receives less light than the others, creating a dark and gloomy appearance. This section is mostly populated by the poor, and the people who run maintenance of the city. The living conditions are severely affected by all the machineries in which weapons and ships are built, the high crime rates, and risk of pirate attacks. being the lowest level all the water they get has already been recycled from the above districts and is rarely clean.
The Winds
The Winds are the names of the continents and countries of the Cloudsea. They refer to the large group of Sky-Cities that travel together on the same wind current. The four Main continents are;
The Northern Wind- The largest and most militarized continent. A few decades ago the Norther Winds tried to take over the other winds. They launched a war campaign that lasted over twenty years. Their incredibly advanced technology forced the other winds to fight together to ward off the attackers. They are now isolated from the other continents and live a secret life of seclusion, hidden behind their constantly patrolled borders.
The Southern Wind- Is the most agriculturally developed wind. They also hold the smallest population and army, but are a major trading superpower.
The Eastern Wind- Holds the largest population of citizens. They are the most culturally diverse nation and are the second strongest military power besides the north. They also have the most well kept sky cities, and a large water supply.
The Western Wind- They are the most ravaged by pirate attacks. The people of the western wind have a strong sense of unity. This continent is home to many floating islands, which is why the Western wind has the most scholars.
The Elves
As stated before the elves are a scarce and dying race. Their history is lined with prejudice and discrimination. Treated as inferior to humans they have been the victims of many crimes and cruel punishment. Many of them are slaves, fated to work in servitude for the rest of their life. Elves that want to avoid being enslaved must apply and pay for Freedom Checks, which are documents that state that they are free citizens and are allowed the rights of any human, although discrimination usually prevents them from being able to have the same accommodations as a human. Many Elves use their fabled intellect to work in the fields of science and machinery. Some even becoming wealthy inventors and highly regarded scholars, although the chances of that are very, very slim.
Human relationships with elves are looked down upon so cross species partnerships are rare. Halfbloods can find it even harder to live than elves, because of their human blood they cannot be enslaved but it is hard for them to find any social acceptance.

About three thousand years ago a cataclysmic event caused the destruction of the world. The earth became coated in a thick miasma, a poisonous and corrosive air that brought death to anything that was exposed to it. Out of nowhere the poison had begun to seep from deep inside the planet, causing destruction with earthquakes as the air pushed it's way into the surface. Frightened of their impending doom the people of the earth looked to their greatest minds for salvation.
A year later a professor named Alexander Belmont, brought forward blue prints for massive ships that would carry the people to safety. The ships would float to the sky above the reach of the deadly poison. There they would wait out the suffering, wait for the earth to become pure again so that they could return to their beloved homeland. At first people were skeptical, and rejected his idea. After many trial and error experiments he finally succeeded in creating a functioning model. He took the model to his country leaders who provided funding for the project and allowed for him to build a fully functional life size ship. People were amazed by his scientific genius and adopted his idea as their best chance of survival.
The ships were built and took in as many people as they could before lifting up into the sky. Many people were left behind, many of which were Elves because they were not seen as equals to the Humans. As the ships rose one by one they watched as the miasma created thick clouds, covering the atmosphere and blocking their view of their previous home. The clouds grew on top of each other, creating a thick shield that prevented the miasma from reaching the ships.
After a while the ships prepared to sail back down, but were greeted by a strange sign. Floating rock islands that carried parts of cities and towns, or parts of forest or mountains. The captains and political leader's from all the ships held a meeting to discuss the meaning. Scientists figured the miasma had broken up the earth and disrupted its magnetic poles, and a certain ore within the rock caused the islands to lift up into the sky due to impossibly strong magnetic forces. They believed that there would be no return to their previous home. They then discussed what their future plans would be.
After the meeting people began to gather what they could from these rising islands, that would sometimes disappear below the cloud cover. They added to the ships combining them together, creating cities carriers of civilization which hovered above the surface of the adequately named Cloudsea. The cities took on specific roles, whether they were farming colonies that grew food for the cities, housing and urban cities meant to house as many people as possible, or military colonies to train the protective forces of the sky cities. They became a new people, created allegiances, new governments, a new world. Novus-Terra.
For many year's the cities grew, created new inventions like robots meant to serve many purposes, as well as building many smaller sky-ships resembling the size and shape of their previous boats. The world went on a steady climb of prosperity for a while, but the longer things dragged on the worse things became.
Thieves known as sky pirates began to show up, they harassed the military by attacking their ship from below the cloud cover. As well as the occasional commandeering of ships simply to take their supplies. The pirates became a bigger presence in the world and helped inspire a sense of exploration amongst many of the people. After a much longer time, the supplies that the sky-cities provided were no longer able to keep up with the demands of ever-growing populations.
Now cities are covered in grime, populations so high that resources are a major issue, and crime is becoming rampant and common.
The cities are experiencing many problems, and have no solution for how to solve them. The prosperity age of the sky-cities is faded.
What will become of the world?
A ship know as the Daedalus has appeared looking for adventurer's who are willing to go on a great expedition into the Cloudsea and look for ways to solve the problems of today.
The Daedalus has finished its first journey into the fabled Gulf of Storms. A part of the Cloudsea from where no man has ever returned alive. They were tasked with testing out experimental technology created to harvest lightning as a power source. Inside they encountered a mysterious band of pirates with technology many years ahead of their time. After a long battle the crew of the Daedalus came out victorious, although they did not escape unscathed. They are now headed to the nearest Sky-city. Tirwelld, also know as "The city of Liars" is home to one of the largest prisons on the Southern Wind(The winds are the current names for the countries.).
What kinds of adventures does The city of Liars hold in store for our adventurers?

OOC Notes
"So there you have it lass, the crew met up and had their first adventure."
"Captain. Who exactly were those pirates then? The ones inside the Gulf of Storms." The girl asked him. The captain stroked his beard and his face changed expression to one of deep thought. It took a few moments before he found the words he was looking for.
"Ah yes. The Ancient Order. You see, when the entire world decided to escape from the Miasma by floating above the clouds and building the sky cities, one group stayed behind. They were know by another name then, but that was so long ago that nobody remembers what it was. One day, almost a couple thousand years after the ascension, the first war of the republic broke out. If you know your history you should know all about that."
"Yeah school taught us all about it, thats when the sky cities separated into four kingdoms each riding on a different wind current."
"Good lass, at least you learned something."
"Yeah, but they never talked about any Ancient anything."
"But they did talk about how it ended right? The Northern Wind Republic, or the NWR, began to develop strangely powerful weapons and easily over powered the other three. Eventually the East, South and West Winds had to join forces. After fighting for a few years with no apparent victor the four nations declared a stalemate and returned to neutrality. Although now the northern Wind has cut off contact with the other three Republics. The Ancient Order was the one responsible for giving the North Wind the weapons it had."
"How?! I mean could the Ancient Order really have survived all that time in the miasma?"
"I suppose they could. Judging by the level of technology the NWR possessed during the war I wouldn't be surprised."
"Wow..."The girl took a moment to think about the new stuff the captain had told her. Never in her wildest dreams did she believe anyone could survive in the miasma. She hugged her pillow tightly and fell back onto her bed. She looked at the captain and asked, "Well, what happens now?"
"Hahaha, still haven't had enough? Alright I'll keep going." The captain took a swig of rum he held below his chair. He cleared his throat and then continued. "After the attack the crew was devastated, but they were still intact. They took what they could from the enemy ship and repaired their own. They lost a lot of valuables but gained some interesting technology. Once the ship had been repaired they set out to the closest port. Navigation out of the storm was much easier than getting in, the charts the captain found proved to be very useful.
The crew charted a course for the the nearest Sky-city, Tirwelld. This city was one of the largest in the Southern Wind, and also one of the most infamous. You see this Sky-city was created to hold the most dangerous criminals from all the different countries. A large number of criminals stayed on the city after they were released. After a few years the city started turning into a dangerous haven for criminal and scum alike. The only law that exists is within the prison walls, which exists in what would normally be considered the lower district. The central district, is composed of brothels and pubs. The living conditions are equal to those of the lower levels in any other city, filthy."
"What about the Noble district Captain?"
"Girl, this city possesses none. After years of bad reputation, Tirwelld became known as The City Of Liars."
Edwin got up in his bed, groaning and holding his side. It had been almost a week now and his wounds were healing well. Though the pain was still very bothersome, Edwin was satisfied with how he had turned out. He pulled the sheets off of himself and put his feet to the cold wooden floor of the ship. A small breeze made it's way into the room. Although the ship had been repaired there were still a few holes and the wind leaked into the living quarters. He got up slowly and put on a clean shirt and the uniform coat of the Daedalus.
Edwin limped out of the stairs and onto the deck of the ship. The day was very nice. There were few clouds in the sky above them and the sun shone brightly. They had headed south from the Gulf of Storms, and had entered the Southern Wind Empire. The day's were short but beautiful because the sun was alway's in a setting or rising position so the sky was alway's lit with a warm orange glow during the days. The weather was nice down here, they often got warm rain which provided them with plenty of crops and water. Though sometimes the rain and winds were extremely violent and dangerous as well. Not many Floating Islands existed in the Southern Wind, so their technology and resources were somewhat limited. Edwin wondered what every one was doing right now. He had apparently been the last one to wake up today. He limped towards the edge of the ship and leaned over the railing, taking in the scenery. In the distance he could see they were approaching a new Sky-city.
About an hour later they had arrived at Tirwelld. The air was damp, musty, and smelled of rot and alcohol. He waited on board the ship while most everyone got off to look for parts to repair their battered ship. He knew he would have his work cut out for him once the crew came back. As the only mechanic he had been in charge of keeping the engine running all alone. It wore him down simply being near it now. He had hoped that he could leave the hot cramped spaces behind when he joined the Daedalus. Even more so taking a look at Tirdwell brought back a lot of memories, and not very good ones. This place was in bad shape and it was easy to see. Nothing was kept well, he could spot many ventilation shafts spewing out black smoke instead of the cool air they normally should. The streets were covered in grime and trash, not to mention populated by derelicts and scoundrels.
He sat patiently and waited for her to arrive. His heart had been feeling heavy for the past hour now. To think that he would come to be attached to the half-blood, well it wasn't unbelievable. She had kept him company through most of the trip, and he came to see her as a friend. He remembered back to when he first found her aboard the Daedalus. He made a promise to keep her hidden from the captain and the other crew, at least until they made anchor again. This place though, could he really let her get off at such a dark place?
-------------------------------------------------
He tried to remember how long he had been there. Five days, two years, seven? Time moved so slowly in complete darkness. His breathing was quiet and steady, just like his eyes. Staring forward at nothing, entirely devoted to finding something within the blackness. The cell was cold and damp. Drop of water could be heard falling into a puddle somewhere in the corner. Outside the door quiet mumbles tempted the imagination. Will today be the day? He kept his head staring at the floor like he always did. He sat cross legged, his back against the wall, and his arms tied tightly around his body by a straight jacket. It was an old friend to him, it embraced him with familiar warmth at all times of the day. He sat patiently.
The door opened slowly. Letting in a small ray of light which grew larger and larger, enveloping the room in brightness as the door opened further.
"Hello doc. What did you bring me today?"
"Captain. Who exactly were those pirates then? The ones inside the Gulf of Storms." The girl asked him. The captain stroked his beard and his face changed expression to one of deep thought. It took a few moments before he found the words he was looking for.

Rikki awoke when the ship touched down on the docks of Tirwelld, rubbing her head gingerly. The headaches still wouldn't go away, and she hated every minute of it.
Three days ago, she woke up in her bed, screaming an estranged battle cry and instinctively pulling a knife. After she realised she was safe in her bed with no battle going on around her, she subsequently retched up anything and everything that was in her stomach, which is to say not much. Being the ship's doctor, her quarters were right in the back end of the sick bay, so as to service her patients more readily. One of the wounded sailors had told her that crewmen had found her comatose in the galley, with an enemy pirate at her feet with several of her knives in his belly and chest. It was apparent she had received a blow to the head and was knocked out. She still had the symptoms of a concussion.
Eh, but past was past, she needed to get up and do her job. Most of the wounded from the battle were already discharged and otherwise taken care of by the time she finally had awakened, cared for by the strange mercenary woman from the Eastern Winds, Mistress Shi. Despite having some disagreements before the battle, Rikki gained a new respect for the woman, for she managed to take care of a lot of things without access to Rikki's expertise nor her medical supplies. As a rule of thumb, Rikki made sure to leave a spare key to her enormous medical chest with the captain of the Deadalus, just in case something put her out of commission again.
There weren't many sailors in the sick bay, and they were all stable enough not to need her immediate attention, so Rikki handed out their medications and went above deck. Finding most of the crew gone, she was surprised to see the Elven mechanic, Edwin, still loitering about the deck. It was a bit of a shock for her, since she thought the mechanic would be one of the first ones off the ship after slaving days on end over the engines. But, it didn't stop her from walking up and greeting him with a smile.
"Hey there, Ed, surprised to see you still here. I would t'ink you'd be already in the city, after all you've done these past few days, especially with your injury," Rikki said brightly as she got close enough, leaning against the rail and taking in the sun. "You better not tell me you en't been takin' your antibiotics, little boy."
With a small, peculiar laugh, Rikki winked and stared out over the city. It was indeed just as bad as the stories said it would be. Alas, she needed to get more medications, regardless. Not that she was very afraid, she knew she could handle herself well enough alone. "The City of Liars, 'tis a fittin' name..."

Tirwelld the city of liars... Red or Red-037 had just been sold to a mechant by his last owner a fat man named Mavus Roadmir he had served on the ship well in his position killing the pirates and cutthrouts who tried to attack the vessal. He had been bought and sold by many and the main selling point was always the sniper rifle he carried when it was fired it made a very loud sound he chuckled when he had heard one of his owners one time say it sounded like a god coughing.
But here he was again being auctioned off at the market like a slave but he didin't mind it at all in fact it was one of his guidelines his master had given him. "You will go down with the ship." If that didn't make him a slave then he didn't know what did. instead of listening to the auctioner sell off other robots he simply watched the clouds and ships come into dock often he wished he had a ship of his own and that he could just sail away... But he also wished that someone would fix that lose bolt in his leg it made him practically a cripple and that made his hand-to-hand combat more of a joke then it already was.
He then had to abandon his thoughts for a moment because it was his turn to be auctioned off the auctioner would yell about his good and bad points for over an hour. And then people in the crowd would bid ether placing one or taking it away and if people took too long the auctioner would send him to the back of the line and force him to wait again it was a terriable cycle.

Victoria looked around and hated what she saw,she viewed the selling of any intelligent being as slavery. She saw men with silk vests, gold or silver pocket watches, and fashionable hats. She saw women of all ages in fine dresses and pearls,it all made her sick. This really is the City of Liars, where pigs dress up like kings and queens, she thought angrily,In the new world we discover in this expedition, this better not happen!
She saw another one being sold, and people shouted out amounts to purchase the robot's will and life. She looked to the robot's face,he didn't look as humanoid her,but he seemed to be in thought.Somehow he seemed to be more...self-aware than the others she saw,she didn't know how,but she knew he was.The voices and prices raised, and she knew what she had to do."500,if you free him!" The auctioneer laughed,"So the property wants its own property, ain't gonna happen!" She was about to open her mouth again when somebody said,"Hey bolty, where's your owner, maybe you should be up there!" as laughter echoed. She put her hand to her gun, just in case,"Hey moron, where's your behind? Oh,right you got confused and picked up a hole in the ground instead!"
Well, that wasn't a very good comeback, she admitted to herself. She then felt a man pulling her in the direction of the stand, before she knew it,the auctioneer grabbed her hand."How much for...",he was cut short by Lady Diplomacy,Victoria's trusted elven pistol pressing on to the skin of his neck."First,I'm not an 'it',I'm a she, second,I don't have a master, and third, here's the part I think you'll find interesting, you won't be selling anyone today." "I don't want to kill you, well at least I don't want blood on my hands so let me and them go!" He whispered to her,"I'll call for help, unless you consider my counter-offer,you go free and so does he,final offer" "I don't recall an initial one, deal!"

((Is it okay if Rose is the one to buy Red?))
Rose sat up from her bed, stretching and yawning as she felt the ship shudder, signaling that they had docked somewhere. She hopped out of her bed, bathed, and the dressed herself. She felt in a relatively good mood today, for several reasons. She still felt the giddy feelings of triumph from her fight with the pirates, and some of the crew would be departing from the ship today. Yes, she was happy.
She walked outside to see the sky-city stretch before her. It didn't look like much, but anything was better than sitting on a ship all day. She had yet to completely get rid of that stupid air-sickness. She departed from the ship, silently thanking the gods for land as she took in the city. It looked even worse close up, filled with rift raft and shady looking people, with poorly cared for buildings and street to match. Before she had left she had stuck a good amount of coins from the pillaging of pirates ship in her pocket, and was setting out to look for a new sword. She still kept her father's beat up sword on her belt, but the thing was ancient and she was in need of an upgrade if she were to do her crew any good.
So she wondered th streets, looking a little lost as she searched for a weapon shop. It didn't take long for the shouting to catch her attention. As she drew closer she came to see that an auction was being held. Perhaps she could buy a weapon there? She quietly joined the crowd, pushing her way through to get closer to the merchandise. As she made her way, she saw that it was a robot that was being auctioned off. She had no intention of buying it, but as she squeezed past someone she raised her arm in the air to get it out of the way. The gesture earned her a finger being jabbed at her from the auctioneer, and him announcing that she had just added 80 coins to the bid. She yelled out a protest, but it was eaten away by the noise of the crowd.
Before someone could make another bid, a woman with a mechanical arm started a ruckus. Rose headed over to where the woman yelled at the crowd, shouting things about how discrimination was wrong, and the retrieving shouts of discrimination back at her. This enraged Rose, as she went to stand next to the woman. "Oh looky here! Now we've got an elf!" Someone shouted from the crowd. Rose's brow furrowed, as she was getting more pissed by the second. She could kill them all and get away with it, couldn't she? After all, the Deadelus made a great escape vessel.

Victoria saw that a Half-Elven woman had joined her,I guess there's good everywhere, even in the inhabited toilets in the world. As she looked at her,she realized she didn't look like a local.Tory responded to the slur with an Yo' Mama joke."Funny thing about that, last time anyone took a 'lookie' at your mother, they gorged their own eyes out",she gave an obvious look of confusion,"Orrrr...I guess I could be wrong about that, considering they turned to dust two minutes afterwards." She saw that the auctioneer had used her distracted moment to pull out two guns of his own."Put the gun away",he barked. She looked to the gun and then to him and then the gun,and so on.
Finally, she put gun back in its holster."You know what they say,A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, you stupid tin can." In her mind she added a Fourth Law of Robotics,Robots will help Natural Selection eliminate whatever ninnies recite that myth. She looked at him angrily."Machines must do as they are told",he told her snidely,"got a come back for that?" "Kind of hard to think clearly with two guns pointing at my head."
He gave her a sharp look and she looked away. She suddenly felt a yank and realized her arms were being held back by one of the very robots being sold."See,they're not with you,it's not on your side." She felt metal press against her skin, and saw the barrel of one of the guns between her eyes,"Let's see how brave you really are",the auctioneer said.Momma,I guess I may be seeing you soon, she thought to herself. She felt something wet and sticky develop under her eyes,I won't cry,I won't cry She closed her eyes, she heard the gun click in place, and despite her best efforts, oil flowed out of her."Not so tough after all",he said, noticing the tears."Let this be an example to all you would be revolutionaries, keep to your places!"

Red was truely stunned not only had someone bid on him but two people first another being like him asking for him to be let free and then an elf she looked like she was in trouble with the crowd and now the female andriod was here on the stand with a gun held up to the auctioner's neck threating him. "Question: Why do you do this mad'am? I have done nothing to earn this... And we have not even been introduced your methods are questionable but..."
He pulled out his sniper rifle. "Statement: It is obvious that you and the elf lady are the innocents here and my guidelines state that i must protect the innocent." he raised up his rifle to the auctioner's head. "Threat: This is a S4-2 anti-matieral rifle it is enough to pierce ship hulls it will not have any trouble with your cranium human." He looked across the crowd. "Hypothisis: Your brain matter will most likely rain upon the bystanders."
He cocked the rifle preparing to fire he knew them getting out of this situation was not probable. The auctioner would most likely call his forces whatever they where they could be random street thugs to milita for all Red knew and the crowd would not be any help that much he could tell.

It's funny what a horrific storm and a pirate attack can do for a person's situation. For one thing, there was the physical aspect of her healing injury; her limp had faded to a bearable twinge every now and then, though the scar still remained. She quite liked it, though; every sailor worth their salt had at least one scar with a good story behind it, and now she had hers. After all, how many teenaged girls could say they'd gone into the Gulf of Storms and lived?
More than that, though was her growing relationship with the crew. Needless to say, she and the captain were still at odds, though most hostility was admittedly on her own part. Jones simply either ignored her or treated her like a child, which Angel was certain he was doing just to piss her off. As far as the rest of the crew went, though, she actually found them...likable. Sure, there were times when they got on her nerves (more often than not, in fact), but all in all, they were a good group. She'd even grown quite fond of having Rikki scold her for not being careful about her leg, or listening to Sierus' harmonica as she drifted off to sleep. Nonetheless, he mostly just kept to herself, watching intently from the sidelines and trying not to draw much attention to herself.
Well, usually that was the case. The one person she'd actually chatted with on a daily basis was, shockingly, a certain elven mechanic. Ever since the events that had taken place in the Gulf, things had changed between her and Edwin, albeit in small ways. It wasn't as if they were joined at the hip, but they would talk every now and then, and Angel found that he was actually a pretty nice guy. To be true, he was nothing like the elves her father had often warned her about. What was it about his that made him so different from the others of his kind? Whatever the reason, she was fairly certain he wasn't interested in charming her, else he'd have done it by now.
Yes, she'd really started growing attached to the lot of them.
Which meant it was about time for her to be moving on, didn't it?
*****
The half-blood yelp as a bit of turbulence jolted her awake, sending her to the floor in a heap. Growling, Angel slowly pulled herself off the ground and back onto her bed, scowling as she rubbed her leg. The wound had healed up nicely, and the limp was almost gone, but landing on it wasn't any less painful. Satisfied she wouldn't have to see Rikki again, the girl flopped back across her mattress. Gods above, she was not a morning person, despite being dragged out of bed at practically the break of dawn for the past six years.
It'd be useless trying to get back to sleep, though, and she bloody well knew it. So, sluggishly, she slid out of bed, yanked on her bandana, and headed up to the deck, pocketing a small, intricate cube on the was up. She'd found the puzzle box amongst the other treasure Jones had procured from the pirates a week before. Whatever was inside must've been valuable, otherwise it would've been so damned hard to open. She'd never been one to shy from a challenge, though, and she wasn't going to start now.
Any traces of sleep faded instantly as she stepped out into the most beautiful sunrise she'd ever seen. Face splitting into an awed grin, she wandered over to the rail of the ship, taking in the sheer beauty of it all. 'So, this is the Southern Wind,' she thought to herself, noting how even the air smelled different somehow. After living in one city your entire life, every new place is somehow exciting, even in the smallest ways.
The deck was almost abandoned, save for a few cabin boys carrying out simple tasks and the night watch just finishing up. And Edwin, of course. There was no doubt in Angel's mind that the elf was a morning person, even if she wasn't. With a smirk, she sauntered over to where he stood and gave him a light punch in the shoulder. "Morning, Elf," she greeted, looking out at the skyline instead of at him. It still amazed her that was was on civil terms with an elf, even disgusted her a little. But as long as she was careful to keep her heart, it should be fine...right? "How's the side doing?" It was a bit surprising to see how far he'd come from death's door in a week's time. Either they had one hell of a doctor, or elves were just exceptionally good at getting better.
The half-blood peered out to the city before them, far smaller than the one she's grown up on and not nearly as nice. "That's our next stop, huh?" For all its faults, it seemed as good a place as any to start a new life. Never a dull moment, that was or sure. And if this city got old, she could always just hop a ship to the next one. "Until we reached the next port," she quoted, giving Edwin a sidelong glance. "That's what you'd promised, wasn't it?" They'd both kept their ends of the bargain; all that remained was for Angel to be on her way.
If only she could silence the part of her that was begging her to stay...

" Hey you sure about this?" It was Kahna, Allen's life long friend and training partner. They were in the gym of the University, the most prestigeous university. Allens parents always told him that, never letting go the fact that Allen knew his scholarship was becuase of kahna and his connections. "Yeah I'm sure." It felt like forever since the last time Allen had done something Free, and without constatnt supervison from a Teacher. And now was his chance to escape*. Life had been good to him, but it had treated him like a toy on a conveyer belt, controlling where he goes. Allen was born, even to his surprise, in the central district. He grew up there untill he was 15, then the recuirters from the university came for him. He mother and father was estatic, but Allen felt otherwise, he was leaving his home, family to live fullfil his dream. Hey Allen, whooohooo you there?
Huh what oh sorry, just thinking. Something he loved to do.
Thats fine, well you should get packed, you want out before night time trust me. This trip was something Kahna did nearly every weak to get supplies otherwise not for purchase in the Uni.
Yea im going now. Allen got up, and started for the door. When he walked out of the Gym he felt the wind and the sunlight hit him, ooh how he loved his afternoon's. He arrived at his doorm, the tallest tower on campus, but he was on the first floor. Allen walked into his room, It was a big room compared to his childhood room, there was a living room, kitchen (his fraivote part of the room), and his bedroom. Allen already had all his stuff packed, just needed to find his calculating device. "I know i put it here somewhere." He found it under the couch, it was a small device. About the size of your hand, it was the thickness of a small phrase book. and it could calculate complex mathematics (very complex), wind speed, what type of rock allen was looking at. And more. But it was time to go and he hoped to only come back when he discovered something really big.
Allens walk to the front gate was a long and tedious one, he wished he could have brought his prototype hover board (but he knew he could easily replicate it with the right reasources). He reached the front gate and signaled to the guard. "Hey allen where you going?" The guard was a good friend, one of the only people he knew from the Central district. "Out." He said simply, it was best no one knew. "cool, i'll see you later then"
"much later." Allen breathed under his breath. After a while he arrived at the docks, where his vessel should have been! "Where"s the Altom reasearch ship?!?"
"you missed it by 5 minutes." Great allen thought. He was going to have to wait for another suitable ship.
"there a boat going to tirwelled which meats with the Deaderlus." Yes that sounded good ,even if he had to go to the city of lies. The Deaderlus was famous and he intended to do something big and this was his chance.
*well he wasn't really going to escape, he was just going to leave without anyone else knowing it.

Sierus sighed heavily as he felt the familiar feeling of...well, the ship stopping. The one-armed ex-pirate would look around the cabin, his lone hand on his head, leather fingers dug harshly into the red-haired covered scalp. His foot tapped the ground anxiously, frustratedly. Water filled his lone eye... He felt overwhelming grief welling in his chest, making his heart feel cold, and far from his body. His body trembled. He just couldn't believe it. It was impossible.
They had lost his son.
His whereabouts unknown, Reuben was now left without his son - the only one he'd probably ever have. It was a harsh toll on his mind. It was something he couldn't shrug off and say 'Oh well' like he normally did. It felt like a big part of him was missing... and it felt so much harder to stand up without that part of him. Tears freely ran down his palid cheek, his breathing ragged....He looked utterly pathetic, even for a pirate. But he didn't care. A part of him was assumedly dead. There was no trace of the fellow on their ship. And with them just now docking, that meant one of two things... He was on the other pirate's ship, or he was amongst the dead....
It would be a while before he could face the world again....
He would press his depressed, sulking body up off of his cot, and move towards the door, using the Daedalus's halls was like a maze to him. He felt lost. It was like his next footstep, there wouldn't be anything else for him to step on...and he'd be falling. He tried to push himself up... but he simply couldn't. He opened the hatch to the deck, climbing the ladder with a slow gait as he reached the deck. He walked over to the edge, and viewed their destination.... He'd been here before. Of course, there were few places he hadn't ever visited... He looked for the unloading plank, before locating it, and walking down it. He put his first foot out on the deck, and felt cautious. For once, he felt uncertain about, not only the world around him... but himself. Could he defend himself? What if he was robbed? All these questions of depression poisoned his mind. He had to get away. He had to find an escape. Happy thoughts, he told himself in his head.
While it was no swift recovery, Sierus felt the little raincloud above his head dissapate a little.... Maybe he was focused too much on his son. There were other things in the world. Besides... if his son really was dead, would he want his father to stay in the shade of death? No, no...But the fangs of dispair would not make him relinquish his mind so quickly. He had to be strong. He now had to fight for two, on the Daedalus. As he finally brought his eye to take in the town he knew where his first stop was: The market-place.
Sierus moved with little haste towards the market place. While he was not very rich, he could at least buy some kind of alcohol to remove his dwelling. Brandy sounded wonderful at this moment. But of course, he would pass an open-air auction of course. While he was no gambler, he always felt like he got good deals from an auction.... He crossed his arm over his chest, and stood in the back, happily watching... untill of course he realized what they were bidding on: A robot. And not only that, it seemed his crewmate, Rose was here too. He was about to call out to her when another wave of sadness hit him. Reuben always hit on Rose....
He shook it off. Happy thoughts.
"Rose!" He cried over the commotion, waving his arm in the air, before moving towards her. While his outside appearance was clearly shaken, he didn't look a total wreck. Plus, he seemed fine... he was keeping his sorrow out of his voice for now. "Deary me, Rose! We've quite a crowd gathered. But tell me, Miss Rose, what are we bidding on?"

Edwin winced at the doctor's remark. Edwin was never too fond of medicine and hadn't taken his medications since two days ago. He felt fine though so he figured that the wound must have healed without infection. Still though, Rikki didn't need to know that.
"Everyday miss, before breakfast, lunch, and dinner." He said with a smile on his face and a slight chuckle at the end of the sentence. He peered into the city like she did. On any other day he would have easily been one of the first ones of the boat. Even this filthy city looked more appealing than the hot cramped spaces of the engine room. The steam made the air way too hot and humid, it was like spending a third of your day in a sauna, continuously, for weeks. He pushed the damned mechanism out of his mind, he had started to think about the pressure levels of the water and if he needed to exchange one of the pipes. His mind focused too much on work.
Other than that though his heart was held by a tight grip. He couldn't seem to bring his spirits up no matter what he did. Today he was saying goodbye to his closest friend on the Daedalus.
After a few minutes of quiet contemplating Angel approached Ed and Rikki. She stood next to him and softly punched him on the shoulder. Edwin smiled when he saw her, he didn't want her to know how sad he was.
"Well, Rikki here is a mighty fine doctor if I say so myself. If it wasn't for Shi's first aid and Rikki's medicine I probably wouldn't be alive. Us elves tend to heal quicker than humans, so that was also quite helpful."
His expression changed when he heard her next words.
"Yeah, a promise is a promise. If it were up to me the Sky-city wouldn't have been such a dump. At least a live wire like you wont be bored here."
He took a few moments and decided he should try and stretch his legs.
"Doc ain't there something you need to get from town? I could accompany you while you get your supplies, Angel can come too since this is the last time we might see her. Whaddaya say?"

It happened quickly. Their deaths although brutal were very much painless. His eyes shone bright red with blood lust, it had been a long time since he felt the thrill of the slaughter. Soon enough an alarm was rung, a single whistle that echoed through the prison hallways leaving behind an eerie silence. The quiet was broken by the loud sounds of marching security officers. He took off running in the opposite direction, leaving behind bloody red footsteps.

Lyle was not currently doing anything useful. He leaned on the railing, watching the ship draw closer to port. It seemed the only person that could make Lyle do anything was the mercenary Shi, and even then, there were times that she wasn’t there to keep him out of trouble. At the moment, though, he had temporarily slipped from her to eavesdrop on people who knew what they were doing. Most people didn’t bother to tell him things (thanks to his belligerent stubbornness), so any information he got was from overhearing others.
Lyle grinned, completely oblivious of the ominous mood that hung around the crew members. He was hearing some very good news. They were soon going to be docking at the City of Liars. His old pirate friends had docked here often to resupply and do some deals. It was one of few places that a pirate ship could dock openly without fear of being apprehended. Lyle knew the city, and its criminal ethos was one that he was familiar with.
Unlike this ship. The crewmembers on the ship prided themselves on being “honest” people, whatever the hell that was supposed to mean. As a ex-pirate (t’hell with that! Damn pirates never let him on the fun. Ever!), he was estranged from these people. They didn’t trust him or like him. And why should they? Lyle had never given them reason to think otherwise. A shiver ran through the ship as it touched the port. He perked up. Lyle wanted to go out. He was still a little afraid of being left alone and lost, without a ship to take him away. Better go find Missus Shi. They wouldn’t abandon her, and she was one of the only people on the Daedalus that tolerated Lyle hanging around.
He ran off toward the direction of her berth. “Missus Shi?” he called out, a little cautiously. Hopefully, she hadn’t left yet.

(Fabuous. Ark's invited a murderous psychopath to the party. XD That ought to be interesting.)
Angel chuckled, unable to keep the smile off her face. "Do I detect a hint of concern? Relax, Ed, I'm a big, tough girl. These guys would be crazy to mess with me." True, this lot was a bit more deadly than the type of people she was used to, but being scared would help her. She had to get off of this ship now before she got roped in and didn't want to leave. The teen shot a smile at Rikki, having been in too much of a slump to notice her before. Man, her departure was really getting to her. Why was that? "Morning, Doc." She patted her leg, right where the scar lay under her pant leg. "I'm doing fine, too. Guess you were right about it needing time to heal," she grudgingly admitted. The half-blood was starting to regret coming over here in the first place. Probably wouldn't just been easier to grab the pack she'd prepared from the cargo hold and slip off while no one was looking. That's what Reuben had done, apparently.
Reuben...The little idiot. No one had see hide or hair of him lately. It was surprising they hadn't noticed his absence sooner, seeing as they'd all grown used to his constant chatter. It was too quiet now, like someone had gone and sucked all the light and laughter from the Daedalus. And of course, Sierus was an utter wreck. Why wouldn't he be? His only son, one he'd only known existed for the past week, had vanished right under his nose. That would break any father's heart. Admittedly, even she missed the little red headache to some extent, but she wasn't too worried about him. The boy had been raised by pirates, for pity's sake, and he'd proven more than capable of taking care of himself. Besides, something in he gut told her he couldn't stay away from the Daedalus--or his "future self"--for long. Sure as the day, he'd find his way back.
Almost a shame she wouldn't be there to see it.
Angel blinked in surprise at the mechanic's suggestion, opening her mouth to protest before closing it with a snap. No point in arguing, really. In fact, this could work to her advantage. It'd be far easier to break away in the crowd and avoid any long goodbyes. Those would surely be her undoing. "I don't see why not. Just hang on a moment." With a parting smile she turned away, letting her expression fall to one of confused sorrow. 'Since this is the last time we might see her.' Now, why did he have to go and say something like that? It was likely to make her think she might actually be missed around here, despite her valiant efforts to stay out of the picture. She shoved the words to the back of her mind as she headed into the cargo hold, pushing around some crates until she found the pack she'd stowed there. Inside was the money she'd swindled from those pilots back in Illeria (seemed like a lifetime ago), some food, a map, and a few other essentials. The half-blood added her puzzle box, the laser knife, and the pistol Edwin had never asked her to return before tying off the bag and slinging it over her shoulder. With a sigh, she glanced around, almost nostalgic. She could almost picture second for second her "fight" with Edwin, if it could even have been called that. The whole week since had been one of the most eventful...and enjoyable she could remember.
Sighing, she raked a had through her bangs. "Just a chapter in the past now," she reminded herself. "Time to move on." With her pack in tow, she headed back up to the deck, expression unreadable as she approached the medic and mechanic. "Ready when you lot are."

At first, Rose simply stared at the auctioneer. He had only restrained the robot girl, as if Rose herself wasn't even there. "Prick," She mumbled as she thought about how to take advantage of the situation. Or at least she tried to think. The giant robot with the scary threats, the scary gun, and the strange way of talking was a little distracting. She didn't even get who it was he was pointing the gun at. Her, or them? Deciding it was them, she drew her sword, showing that she was ready to fight.
And then Sierus yelled out her name, and she wanted to crawl back to the ship and hide under covers, just to cry. She'd never let anyone know how much the disappearance of Reuben actually got to her, or how every time she saw Sierus it brought everything back. She truly missed him, even the random hugs, or how he called her Rosie, and how he followed her around. It felt like she had lost a pet that she had for years. If they ever found him, she'd be the first to kill him.
...if he wasn't dead in the first place.
What made it worse was that she felt a guilt about what had happened, it could have been her fault. Reuben had been stuck in the crow's nest, fighting his heart out with that crossbow of his. When he made the stupid mistake of knocking the ladder down, Rose refused to let him down and just left him there. She assumed someone would have helped him, eventually. Yet the next time she glanced up at him, he was gone, as she hasn't seen him since.
She ignored the rest of the people and lowered her sword. "Hello Sierus. It seems I've bid on a robot." With that, the auctioneer shoved a piece of paper in her face. "That's right, and now you've bought him! So get your robot, your little half mech friend here, and your buddy over there, and get out of my auction!" Rose just stared at him, what did he mean by half mech friend? Even worse, what did he mean by buying the robot? As she stared at him in disbelief, he stuck out his hand. "After you pay for him of course." Rose sighed, there went her new sword, and dug in her pocket, digging out the coins he desired and forfeiting them over. After he took the coins and gave her the paper, he pointed for them all to leave his auction. As she headed out, she glanced at Red. "You better be one hell of a robot. I'm not going to get in trouble for bringing some junk on board of the Daedelus!"

Red watched the proceedings and lowered his gun after the exchange between the auctioneer and his new owner and master as his interface now registered her, He started to follow the group asuming that they where her friends stepping off the stand his huge bulk making the ground shake as he stepped. He then responded to what his new master said. "Answer: Yes master I am known as Red-037 I am programed with advanced tactics of ship protection and gunmanship, I am also the only being alive that carries the technology of anti-material penatration." He said hefting his rifle. "Inquiry: Is there anything you would like to know? Past owners? Problems with this unit?" He said as he followed being sure not to step on a cat as he walked.
He glanced ahead at the ship she had refered to. "Injured answer: And i know that i have a rusted apperance but that is due to miscare on the part of my previous owners part, but i assure you i am not "Some junk" and will preform to the opptimum standards." If he could he would be smiling to himself. "I used to be golden like the sun once upon a time my original owner and creator made sure of that."

Meanwhile,Victoria was walking with them, happy to be alive. One could tell from her dance,"Happy Dance Happy Happy Dance!",she sang as she had been doing ever since they got a way from the auctioneer."I'm still alive and doin' my happy dance,Dance Dance Dance Dance!" she was a bit relieved to have not been shot,to say the least. She moved her legs and hips back and forth, whist putting her hands to her head and opening and closing them, and then closed her eyes...and nearly fell on her face.
Finally she came back to her senses,"Sorry about that,I am just glad to be alive, especially since I'm about to go on a great adventure." She then turned to the robot and said,"Junk couldn't willing choose to save someone,Mr.Red-037." She suddenly recalled what the young woman just said. The Daedalus!,she thought with a shock."Apparently,I'm the new captain,or at least pilot of The Daedalus, and I have a paper to prove it.She dug through her bag of belongings,Money,Oil,here it is! She triumphantly pulled out an old, plastic, rat. She looked some more, being sure not without looking this time,Okay here it is,she thought, looking at it before pulling it out triumphantly. "This is what I meant to grab,it's the letter I got after Mama died."

Rikki knew that Ed was lying through his teeth about taking his antibiotics, for the simple fact that he forgot that she told him he needed to only take them once a day in the morning. It didn't bother her as much as one would think; she knew the Elven healing process was a tad faster than a human's, and, as long as he kept himself clean, he needn't worry about further infection. Smiling at Ed, she continued looking out over the city and running through a mental checklist of everything she needed in town. It would be hard to find even the basic stuff, but Rikki was confident that she would find what she needed.
Her first patient ever as ship's doctor on the Deadalus, Angel, appeared and playfully punched Ed. Rikki smiled as she watched the two banter and flirt. She knew there was something going on between them, but couldn't tell if they knew it themselves. They were almost... coy, with each other. It was almost painful to watch them go through motions they thought the other wouldn't even notice. Ed mentioned something about Angel leaving, which caught Rikki off guard.
"Wait... You're leavin', girl?" Rikki said, astonished. "You are a part of this crew now, you can't leave! I won't allow it! Who made sure you could walk again when everybody swore up an' down that you'd be losing that foot, huh?"
Rikki would have continued ranting if Ed didn't remind her that she did indeed need to head into the city for more medical supplies. She calmed down considerably after taking a few breaths, telling herself that Angel wouldn't really leave. She could tell the girl was already attached to the crew, and especially Ed, even if the girl didn't know it herself yet.
"Aye, I do need to head into town," Rikki murmured. "Angel, why don't you join Ed an' I for a drink 'fore you decide after I'm done getting what I need?"

Sierus smiled, running his hand through his hair as he stood next to Rose and her new friend... of course, Sierus was a tad nervous around the mechanical fellow... not that he was racist against those of mechanical nature.... but it just so happened that the cannon-operator of the notorious weapon that removed Sierus's arm was a robot. No matter how hard he tried, he was contstantly reminded by the lack of an arm on his side. Rose was signing for the rather... used looking mech... whom at this point was armed with a gigantic bored rifle. If Sierus had to guess, it was maybe 20mm, which was used on the newest of the new ships for ship-to-ship combat. Quite the weapon. Amilea had always wanted one.... He sighed again.
The robot replied when Rose acused it of being some hunk of junk, rather snappily he noted. Most mechs he encountered were lacking in emotions... just stayed monotone the entire time. Granted, this one was armed with the latest in firearms... maybe he was the lastest tech too? He would just have to see.
He turned to view 'Miss Rose', and offered her a smile. He was not a face reader, by any means...but Reuben's disapearance had taken a toll on her as well... and he felt the urge to comfort her; to tell her that it was okay, and that Reuben was safe... but he would have been lying through his teeth if he had done so. He had his own emotions to battle right now. And currently, he was winning. He didn't want to bring up any more painful memories for her, or his, battle for control over their wounded hearts. He would offer a gentle smile against his roughed-up appearance, although to anyone, it would've been obvious that tears had been in his eyes recently. But nonetheless, he would speak again, in his regulated, happy voice. "Deary me, Miss Rose! Seems you've gained us an ally. One made out of synthetic materials...alas, one is better than none, I say!" He smiled, offering a hand to the robot, whom apperently was named 'Red'. "Why hello, Red!" Sierus said cheerfully. "It's nice to meet you! I'm Sierus. It'll be nice to have anothe-... Someone with your skills on our ship!" He said, stopping of course, because he didn't want to mention that Reuben was their primary marksman...
The auction owner stabbed his finger in the direction of the door, indicating for the group to get you. The man looked rather disgruntled, eyebrows furrowed. As Red and Rose.. (Nyehehe! Red Rose...) began to make their way out, Sierus shot a rather nasty glare at the man, his eye twiching, yet his pearly whites still beared friendily. His lone arm jolted out on its own, grabbing the man's wrist, digging his thumb into the soft, vieny section of the arm, and twisting it skyward. It wasn't actually ment to hurt, but it sure as hell wasn't pleasant. Sierus leant down to the man's face. "I'm sorry, Sir!" He said politely - but anyone who knew Sierus knew that when a sentence didn't start with 'deary me', it was more serious than playful. "We've had a rough time aboard our ship. I would very much like to ask that you quit being rude to my friends." He said, while smiling the entire time his vice-like pinching hold on the man. "You may have sent us that way...." Sierus said, twisting the man's arm down to face door. "But if you do not stop, I'll send you that way." He added, twisting the man's arm painfully up towards the sky. His eyebrow droped, and his look gained a tad bit of sinister-shadow. He released the man, whom instantly gripped his pained wrist, as Sierus turned on his heels, and began to walk towards the door, following Red and Rose, leaving the auctioneer-owner-fellow scowling and mumbling foul curses, which Sierus turned deaf ear to.
Catching up with his new partners, he smiled brightly. "So! Where might you two be headed? Because I don't think I'm ready to head back to the Daedalus yet..... Wish to visit one of this town's thrriiiilling taverns?" He asked, smirking.

Red took the hand offered to him. "Statement: It is a pleasure to meet you mister Sierus I am very excited to meet the crew members, the captain and the mechanic especially you see... there is a defect in this unit, i have this lose bolt you see and it has giving me trouble these past years all of my owners have told me and i quote." He said as a live recording of a gruff sounding man came on. "Do yer job you rusty tin walker!" Red shrugged his shoulders. "Sad Statement" Alias i am truly a creature of woe... Oh! And i almost forgot." he said as he turned to Rose. "Statement: Master you now have control of every internal aspect of this unit meaning you can change anything you dislike about me besides the basic systems: Combat systems, Motor skills, My name etc. But more to the point you can change my voice, my armor and every other cosmetic detail you can think of, i can even clean myself and change color." He said as he turned around and a control panel shot out of his back. "Statement: This panel is my editor here you can make the changes to me, you can pick anything you like from the pitch of my voice to the very pigment of my armor just... I just ask you leave me at least some dignity if you decide to make the changes and remember I am a Male robot."

She was just about to leave the ship and head towards the nearest smithy when she heard the boy calling her as if she were his mother. The unusual thought made her eyes soften unnoticeably.
“Missus Shi?” She could even her the thumping patter of his feet on the deck as he looked for her, sighing good-naturedly (not that she would let anyone know) she turned and called out in her monotonous voice.
"Over here boy, I am about to leave. If you wish to come with me know that I will not be buying you anything. Besides, you should be near me most of the time so you are not lost. I plan to come back to the ship to-night." Her voice grew quieter by turns as she sensed Lyle coming closer. Deciding he could catch up, feeling particularly impatient to-day, she turned and began walking again towards the sky-pier so that she might leave the ship. Turning the last corner she came upon the Rose-girl and the one-armed Red-man.
Her face gained a frown and she nearly stopped walking, but she continued nonetheless. The boy was lost, and even she was saddened by it, though most wouldn't be able to tell. She could sympathize now, imagining Lyle lost and most likely dead. That little makeshift pirate-whelp who she had gotten much too attached to much too fast.
Stopping next to the Red-man she placed her hand on his shoulder. Never looking at him, but offering her silent condolences before she began walking again. Lyle, you better not die on me. You hear me boy...

Allen had just arrived in Trywelled, and he wasn't really liking what he was seeing. He was touring the around the dock looking for the Deardelus and he wasn't having any luck. So he decieded to have a rest at one of the safer-looking pubs close to the dock for any info of where it could be. He walked into one, it was called the "Dropped rock" and there seemed to be no shouting coming from it which was a good sign. He walked through the doors, interesting he thought, they were made of ebony (not a wood he would expect to see here). The tavern was quiet, other than a piano solo, it was classical. He sat at the bar "What will it be boy?"
"A shot of black rum please."
"Black rum? you're not from these parts eh?" Allen raised his eyebrows interesting.
"What gave it away?" Many things he thought, his shoes his t-shirt, the fact that he's carrying his bag around in the lower districts.
"your choice of drink, you here for somethin boy?"
"Yes in fact I am. I need to find the Deardelus." The piano solo stopped, it was silent. was it something i said? " Is there something wrong."
"No nothing, the Deardelus? you don't seem the type to join that kind of voyage." He was whispering now.
"well do you know where it is?" Allen intended to be on that ship, no one was going to stop him.
"Yes in fact i do. Dock 17 slot 4, you can't miss it."
"well statically it seems like i could, but thank you for the information." He set down his bill and a generous tip. accurate information was hard to come by and this man didn't seem like a very good liar. He walked out and headed for the docks once again, he quickened his pace. He found dock 17 and instantly he could see the Deardelus, the man didn't lie, you couldn't miss it. As he neared the ship he passe a few people "So! Where might you two be headed? Because I don't think I'm ready to head back to the Daedalus yet..... Wish to visit one of this town's thrriiiilling taverns? He turned, and inspected the people walking down the jetty, interesting he thought, those are the people whom i'll be traveling with? hmm. Allen walked up to the ship and stood in front of it. He didn't see anyone around, so he called out " EH! Anyone there?!?" lets hope someone who could help him was on it at-least.

Victoria then realized she was laying it on a bit thick,"Just don't get anything too expensive",she giggled. She saw a young man with a mechanical hand, she waved her technically mechanical hand back(technically, giggle!)."The crew of the mighty Daedalus is here, are you a member? "I am,and I have a paper that says I'm Captain!",she ended the last word in a rather bubbly way.She brought out her paper again. She saw a young brown haired boy,Well this is awkward.. "Sounds like a mighty fine idea. Finding a bar shouldn't be too difficult here." Edwin pushed himself off the railing he had been leaning on. He stretched his arms and walked to the boarding plank motioning to the girls to follow him. His stomach churned at the thought of consuming an alcoholic beverage, he didn't mind that people drank but the though of drinking such a vile substance made him feel sick. Edwin finally set foot on the docks, which were bustling with what looked like a wide array of pirates and smugglers. No wonder there were so many sailors still on board the Daedalus if they left it unprotected they would lose half their supplies. Edwin pressed on moving carefully between people making sure he wasn't going to be pick pocketed. His entire life was spent in the lower levels of his Sky-city, so he learneed a good amount about thieves and what not.
"Ahoy dere friends!Wealcome do de Drunken Ratflail!" said a lively young waitress to Edwin and the girls. She spoke with a strange sort of accent Edwin had never heard some one speak like her before. She had oily and ebony skin, due to her ethnicity as well as the dirt on her. Se was pretty but the whole cleanliness deficiency made her a whole lot unattractive. It seemed like a few of the other crew mates had already made it to the bar, although there were some new faces thrown in with the lot. He stopped to think once the name of the bar truly sank in.
"Um, what in Altarias name is a Ratflail miss?" Edwin asked completely at a loss.
"My, my, seems you avent heard de tale o' de ol wild, marauding pirate known as Elco. E' wus a mighty dangerus pirate back in de day. Boot twel yeahs ago, he go an get catured an brught in to da prison. People say, dat when de army ambushd him, he gone and picked himself up a neah by rat and usd it like a flail. Took down boot ten o them befo dey finally cought de man. Ownah loh de story so much, ho gone and nemed da whole bar after it. I'll be bringin yall you drinks soon."
Edwin's face was one of total confusion. Was there really a pirate like that? Edwin was never very skeptical, he wasn't gullible but he's believed his fair share of tall tales. The girl left them to fetch the drinks they ordered. Edwin only asked for milk and he remembered the strange stare he got from a few people in the bar when he did so. He hated the taste of alcohol, and he refused to believe the water they had here would be of any quality, besides poor. Edwin fiddled with his rifle openly. It was a tactic he learned back in his home city. People are less likely to pick a fight or try to steal from you when they know you are armed. He made sure that his gun would work at peak capacity. Gunbead was an invention Edwin was quite proud of, it is the result of eight years of weapons maintenance and smithing. A visiting Noble once offered a large sum of doubloons for it but Ed turned down the offer.
He put the rifle down in his lap so that he would have ease of access, and focused more on his company. Edwin avoided the topic of leaving as much as possible. He wanted to avoid talking about Reuben, it seemed like a lot of the crew took it pretty badly when they figured out he disappeared. Also Their previous pilot decided it would be best to return home, and that the Daedalus was too much for him. Poor guy, the Gulf of storms experience must have left him in pretty bad shape.
"So tell me Rikki, we haven't had many chances to talk, well, at least not about anything besides my wound I mean. Tell me what inspired you to get that tattoo on your eye? Are you a fan of 'stargazing'?" He smiled coyly at his own pun. Edwin was a fan of tattoo, or more so the stories behind them. They told a lot about a person. He glanced to Angel who seemed a little uncomfortable. He was a little oblivious to certain things but he could tell she felt sad about having to leave. Maybe Rikki and him could still talk her into staying with the crew.

The captain stood up abruptly. Throwing a platter of food off his bed as he jumped out of the king sized mattress in his room. Jack, his trusty robot companion came running through the door worried that his master was in danger.
"By the god it is true! Haha Jack my friend we've made port in Tirdwell!"
"Forgive me sir but one does not find such a dirty and disreputable place as appealing as you."
"Jack ol' friend you'll love it! The dirty streets, the hot air, oh the beer my friend the BEER!"
The captain dressed himself and bolted out the door.
"Ah yes, one is ever so proud to call him our captain."
Flintlock Jones walked proudly through the streets, unafraid and completely at home. It was strange to see such a man be so comfortable in a place like this, though to the crew it would be easy to understand. For a man of high rank in the military and a beautiful reputation of good deeds, he was still somewhat of slob.
"Scoundrels, thieves, murderers, and whores. Ah, Tirdwell how I've missed you so."
The captain jolly as ever made his way to his favorite drinking spot. The Drunken Ratflail.

Lyle’s face lit up. He ran toward Missus Shi. How she always managed to make herself practically invisible with her layers of flowy clothes was always a mystery to Lyle. He was always impressed.
As he trailed behind Missus Shi like a ghost puppy, Lyle didn’t even mind that he hadn’t had time to grab his shoes. They were too big for him anyways, and he’d probably end up tripping and falling ungracefully as he tried to keep up.
He blinked up at Sierus as Missus Shi stopped to put a hand on his shoulder. From what he had heard, the he had lost his kid. The same kid that had foiled Lyle’s nefarious plans and got him captured. He didn’t have any particular fondness for the red-haired kid, and his memories of Sierus’s killing prowess still gave him shivers. (Not that he would ever admit it.) He scanned his face. The one-eyed guy seemed to be perfectly fine. He had a big smile on. Lyle couldn’t understand what everyone on deck was making a big fuss about. People died all the time. He didn’t know the pain of losing family, since he had technically never had one. Ok, it had been pretty bad when the pirates had been eliminated, but the crew of the Daedalus had pretty much replaced them almost immediately. He realized that he had been pretty much left behind by Missus Shi, so he started after her again. His plans were foiled by a friendly (overly so!) call out for drinks. He licked his lips and turned to regard the girl curiously.
“I'll pay for yours too, but no alcohol, period.”
He shot her a righteous Lyle glare. “Eh, wot makes y’think I kent take o’ good drink? S’not like I ent e’er drank rum.”

OOC Notes
Aw,[fill in the blank],he's mouthy! Victoria then remembered what her mother told her about kids,When a man and a woman... Well, that was unhelpful, she tried to remember what else she knew about kids,Mr.Till told her mother how grateful she was that she did a world a favor and didn't plague there small town with little brats. He wasn't racist, just anti-child of any kind, and now she understood why.An old crazy man on the street once told her that you don't look down to a weasel person even if they are short, or they'd hunt you down and kill you.She then realized this was the most relative advice she had heard for this situation,I need to get out more, she decided.
She then began, not looking down at the kid,"I heard if you start drinking before you're eighteen, your brain doesn't develop and you end up living in a sewer, babbling about rat people because you're a crazed alcoholic." She realized how she could have edited a lot of what she heard out to not sound completely ridiculous."Okay,I grew up in a small town,Momma told me that stuff, except the part about rat people,I once saw a man in a sewer talking about them and I was pretty sure he was drunk, but the brain development part is true, because my mother was a scientist and knew what she was talking about."
She also remembered that back home, there were two big camps fighting to control the sewers, the naturally mentally ill and those who drank to much and did other things in excess also. She once asked her mother about it,and she responded that it was some sort of cultist holy war,the drunks Weasel god vs. the mentally ill's Rat Goddess and to stay away from both factions. There are somethings I will never miss about home!

Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
I'm back, guys! For real this time. Sorry for the wait, I was out of town and didn't have access to internet connection on my computer. Thanks for not getting too far ahead without me. I'll read up on what I've missed and post ASAP.
Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Hey guys I'm back...but things still seem to be going slowly.
So Ark if its not to much trouble i'll be moving my character up to the bomb site and i'll wait for you their (i'll say he's got no experience with bombs whatsoever so he needs you to diffuse it).

Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Sorry Uta. I didn't check this site for a while.
Sure. I think it would be great for Victoria to meet up with Lyle. I didn't know she was underground haha.

Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Hey ark I just wan't to tell you that i'm not going to be able to get propa internet for a week or so. so if you need to just make my character a npc go ahead.
Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
like i said before, if some one doesn;t show up for a while and leaves you kind of stuck, it's ok to skip their post and just do something else. I'm sure river won't mind if you just move her character.
Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
I'm still here! But I am completely hung up waiting on River. She has disappeared again. XD I have no idea what to do now, as Lyle is awaiting Rikki's reply. :/ And just having him wander off without her is a little weird, considering that she's unable to walk and Lyle's supposed to help her. Even so, I have no idea what they're supposed to be doing in the lower levels. XD;
I could just pretend that Lyle has started to help Rikki walk, but she went unconscious (again), but I don't want to do it without River's permission. :/

Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Sounds like a plan Vio, I'll see to it that Shi knocks some sense back into that red head of his ;D
Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Ok @ Angel
Since the last time you posted, Edwin talked to the General.
-There is one final part to the attack, an ex-prisoner and terrorist named Harris is behind the whole thing, he demanded that all the prisoner's go free or else he would blow up the city. Edwin and Allen decided to go help the people escape, when the general decided not to tallow the prisoner's to escape. Ed is waiting for angel to reply, so they can go to the docks and search for the bombs that threaten to kill the civilians if the prisoners don;t go free.
-Sierus has woken up from a delusional nightmare about his son, and is resting on shi's lap. Things in the Central district have calmed down now, and all the people seem to be united through their losses.
-The rest of the crew in the low disctrict, have not relied or responded in a while. So i;m not really sure what they're doing.
@Vio

Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Seriously, guys. I'm almost afraid to look at the thread and see how much I've missed. It sucks being gone for a few days; you never know how far everyone's gotten and you have to find some way to jump back in. SO HELP!!
Re: [OOC] Gunship: True Beginnings
Of course! Of course! He sure does. And he would be delighted if she would partake with social interest in him... of course, right now he is delusionally looking for his son. Hit him, or something.
