Introduction
Demons: Most demons are humanoid. They are persecuted in many regions because humans blame them for the drought and poisoning of wells. Most demons are simple farmers or traders. Few are warriors. Some are even outlaws. They can be dangerous if they know how to fight since devils and similar demons are stronger than humans.

"Hey boys. Lots like we have some fresh meat and it is a girl!" One bandit said. Then the other laughed: "Haha. Look! She thinks she is a samurai. How cute." "I will warn you humans once. Get out of my way and I will spare you. If someone stands in my way, I will make him my next meal and if you attack me, I will kill you." The young woman named Misaki said. Then a bandit said: "Ha! She thinks she is so tough!" The bandit was about to put his hand on Misakis shoulder when she simple tore the bandits arm off. "Aaaaahhhh!" The bandit screamed. Then Misaki said: "You will be my meal and pulled her katana, dicing him within seconds. "Crap! Its a demon! Get her! If we beat her, we might get a large sum of money!" The bandit leader said and attacked. Misaki pulled out her odachi and swung twice with it before putting it back in its sheath. The mens heads then fell off. "Bandits are dumb fools like always." Misaki sighed, packing the human meat into a back and eating a bit of it as she continued on.

"She probably can't handle all of them at once," Saito thought logically, "There's too many for her."
He drew his large suburito from his back and started running towards where the party was to help her out as soon as he saw one of the bandits put their hand on her shoulder. As he ran, he saw how quick the girl annihilated the bandits.
"Damn..." he thought, "Scary..."
Then he noticed the horns on her head and knew she was a demon. That would explain why she had such humongous strength. But what he did not like about this is that she killed them needlessly. As he got close enough, he asked her loudly so she can hear him.
"Is there a reason why you had to kill them?"
He probably knew the answer, but he wanted to hear hers...

"Is that so?" Saito asked her, "You know... You could have just torn off their arms... That is even worse than death... To live without arms... No, I'm neither a bandit nor a city official. Nor someone who has a beef against demons... Anyhow... Miss... I was going the same direction you are going to... Do you know if there is a nearby city ahead? I'm really hungry..."
Saito's stomach growled as he said this, showing he really is hungry. Besides that, he withdrew the suburito from his hands to his back. He didn't have any reason to attack nor is he ever to... But, he closed off all openings for her to attack him... That is if she knows them... Despite he shows no resistance... It is his zanshin that becomes his sword to ward off her incoming attacks...

First this girl was really defensive when he talked to her, now she was smiling at him? Could it be that she might be a little... Bipolar in that respect? If it is... Saito will definitely have to watch himself in any case. He shrugged at her and followed behind her. As long as she did not attack him, it seems he will not have to fight her....
"Well... I guess... I don't really care as much about trying to get your respect... You know?" Saito told her glumly, "Anyway... You know, you are a little too kind to someone you just met..."
He was being truthful there. No one would usually be this kind to treat anyone to a drink at a first meeting unless it is a professional one between merchants and lords.
"In any case, we might have to be careful," Saito warned her in a droning tone, "I heard that town gets raided a lot by bandits... Which pretty much explains why there are some around here..."
He pointed at the blood and ripped up corpses on the ground.
"It looks like we might be attacked along the way..."
He was right as a group of bandits were running towards them.
"Run or fight?" he asked her.

Then he snapped back into reality and saw the incoming bandits getting closer and closer. They each looked quite pissed off that their fellow bandits were disposed by Misaki.
Saito shrugged and drew the large suburito again, "Well... Call me Sengoku Saito, Misaki-san. I guess I'll have to deal with this bunch..."
He walked calmly towards the bandits who were running.
"Get the hell out of our way!" screamed one bandit.
"Bastard! You wanna get killed!?" screamed another.
Saito walked slowly and didn't answer them. He smiled a little in disdain which pissed them off even more. As the leading bandit was close enough to hit him, Saito disappeared and reappeared to his right and smashed the suburito to the head.
"Abeeh!" cried the bandit.
"Bastard!!!" the rest of the bandits cried.
A flurry of katana slashes and spear stabs could not reach him. He calmly intercepted their attacks and countered with a smashing blow to their temple, solar plexus, and their foreheads. Each of their attacks were making too much wasted movement and too slow. They were never on the same league as him to begin with. Soon after a few minutes, the road was covered with knocked out men lying unconscious....

"Well..." Saito told her, "For starters, we could reel them up and send them into jail for the policemen to take care of them for us... So, in that case... Help me with this."
He took out an extremely long roll of rope from his bag.
"You know hojojutsu?" he asked her as he was already binding one of them, one by one, "We can just tie them up and then send them to the slammer. Besides, I really don't think it is up to us to decide who really dies or not... It's not like we're really Gods or anything... No?"
Saito wanted to make a point and wanted this demon girl to see his. He threw a long cord of rope at her as well.
"Help me out," Saito told her, "We can't just leave them here...."
OOC Notes
She was thrown a rope.
"If you want them alive then do not give me a rope because I might just pull tight enough to make them suffocate or tear in half. Do you want a piece?" Misaki held out a piece of human meat. "Oh yeah. You dont eat your own kind. Nevermind."
OOC Notes
"I suppose this will do," Saito said grimly after tying them up, breaking their legs, and pushing them down the hill, "They won't be able to do anything for several months at least... So, do we keep moving on, Misaki-san?"
He wondered what this girl would do.
"You know, we probably could've gotten some money if we turned them in... But, I guess you're right... Police is pretty much crap these days..."
OOC Notes
Hojo laughed deeply as he poured Mamimi a cup of sake...."First bowl should be coming up in 4 minutes, okay?" he said "Deal" Mamimi responded, as she let her sandals hit the floor.
By her 5th bowl of Yakisoba, and 7th cup of Sake, the shop had become rather full and the atmosphere had grown a bit tense - seeing as how a group of rowdy samurai had entered the place......with little respect of the people around them, and no respect at all for the women who served them. "Ahhh come here baby....let me feel those things jiggle!" one of the men said, as he blatantly stuck his hand down the womans top, groping her for a good minute or so, before pushing her back towards the front counter.........
A man attempted to stand up for the woman, but to no avail, as they also slung him against the counter - this time causing Mamimis bowl of Yakisoba to spill over a bit.
She sighed, and then leaned over the counter to Hojo "Must these men really be aloud to stay? They're ruining my good day...." she complained, as Hojo filled up her bowl once more to make up for the spillage. He then whispered back to her "You know i have no power to ask them to leave - they'd try to kill me if i-" Hojo suddenly stopped, as he noticed one of the samurai getting up and approaching the counter 'You! old man....give me the strongest stuff you got in this shack! sake, vodka, i don't care, fill me up!!" he yelled as he slapped a clay pitcher down on the counter. The man then turned to Mamimi "Heyyy gorgeous!" he said in a weak attempt to flirt. Mamimi - with eyes closed - ignored the man, and continued to eat. "Ohhhhhhhhh we have a wench here who thinks she's too good to talk to us men!" he yelled back towards his friend as Hojo filled up the pitcher. Mamimi was not looking for a fight, but her body tensed as the man said those words.....but luckily for her they called her a few names, and then went on ranting about something else.
But within a few minutes later, the same samurai from before came up to the counter for more alcohol - but this time he threw his arm over Mamimi's shoulders "Sweet stuff, let me feel-" she cut him off by slapping his arm off of her "Do not touch me" she said coldly as she stood up into her getas, thanked Hojo, and turned to leave. But when she did the man grabbed the end of one of her swords, causing her to lash out without thinking "Touch it again, and it'll be at your throat!" she spat, but she quickly calmed herself and attempted to leave the shop. But the man grabbed her arm this time and attempted to pull her towards him.........with no thought at all, Mamimi decked the man directly in his bridge, sending him flying into the counter stools. She grinned widely in satisfaction, but only for a moment - she could hear the men behind her standing up."Big mistake bitch" they barked, as the largest of the bunch stomped over. Mamimi sighed "Now see, i didn't wish to start such a ruckus, why couldn't you just let me leave..." she whispered under her breath as she decked the large man in front of her, and then high-kicked him directly in the torso......sending him flying out the shops front doors. It was only then that the rest of the men perceived her as a true threat, and unsheathed their swords "IT'S A DEMON!" the men shouted to each other, before charging her. She didn't wish to wreck Hojo's shop though, so with ease she kicked each of the men out the front door - except the one who touched her before, she personally dragged him outside - before throwing him into his friends. "Leave me be, and things will end in your benefit" Mamimi warned, not really wishing to fight.....but like most drunk samurai would, they ignored her - charging anyways.
Within a mere second Mamimi unsheathed her swords and sliced the front two mens wrist almost an inch deep, causing them to instantly drop their swords - leading Mamimi to smile, knowing they'd never be able to wield a sword properly again.
As those two men ran off, the other three backed away from her - nearly falling into the pond behind them.....Mamimi re-sheathed her swords, there was no reason to kill these three.....but she couldn't help herself from messing with them a bit.....so she held her arm out and flicked her fingers around - causing a band of water to drag the three of them into the into the pond.
Mamimi stood there and snickered a moment as a crowd formed.....but she quickly turned to walk away, before the crowd grew too large.

"Not so smart knowing they have more physical strength..." Saito thought in disdain at the man as he knew how stupid he was.
"You know," Saito told Misaki, "I don't really see the need for you to punch back at him... Really..."
Then he was interrupted by some random man flying out of the restaurant.
"Wonderful," Saito thought sarcastically, "What now?"
"This looks fun. You coming Saito?" Misaki asked him.
Saito sighed and nodded as an answer. He followed her to the restaurant.
Then the two saw the woman come out. They saw how she dealt with the rowdy idiotic samurais with precision.
Just as Mamimi was leaving, Saito heard Misaki ask her if she was the one causing the fight.
"I highly doubt it, Misaki-san," Saito told her didactically, "She doesn't look like the type of person to start up fights... Anyways, hi there, ma'am. That was some nice sword work there. I don't see that much waste in your movements..."
Saito really meant it. He barely saw any unnecessary movements in her slash and was somewhat impressed by it.

So she turned her head to side to stare at the person who called her out....but before she could respond the man beside the woman came to her defense, and then complimented her swordsmanship.....which of course caused a wide smile to appear on her face, as she then turned and walked towards the two.
As she approached Mamimi stared directly at the man, the two almost at exact eye level. "Why thank you handsome, perhaps we could play together later......in a sword duel of course" Mamimi joked flirtatiously with a wink and a smile. She then turned her head and stared down at the young woman, who was quite clearly a demon. "Now what exactly is a demon girl doing traveling with such a lovely samurai?" Mamimi asked, quickly switching her gaze from the woman back to the young samurai...curiosity was definitely itching her behind the ear. "Oh, i'm Mamimi by the way" she directed towards the samurai, still smiling.
OOC Notes
Keeping calm, Saito answered courteously to the flirtatious demon lady, "I would be honored to have a few minute spar with you, ma'am. We were just travelling together because... Well... We were heading to this town... Ah, I'm sorry for being rude... I'm Sengoku Saito of Tenshin Muto Ryu. Currently menkyo."
Saito scratched the back of his head out of embarrassment.
(menkyo = expert of art, knows all the teachings and secrets of art... usually only conferred at age 30. very close to master (menkyo kaiden))
Then he introduced Misaki, "This is Misaki Ichizumaru, demon lady as you are."
OOC Notes
The Samurai then calmly introduced himself as Sengoku Saito, and said he'd be honored to have a few minute spar with her.....causing Mamimis smile to widen, as she leaned in closer to him. "Well i do hope it would last longer than a few minutes" she said softly, chuckling as she stood straight again.
"Anyways, it's very lovely to meet you Saito-san.....and you're ranked menkyo? Quite impressive, i think i'm even more intrigued now to play around with you for a bit" Mamimi said as her smile relaxed a bit, but still remained.
In all honestly she would enjoy a good spar with a worthy opponent, for it had been a very long time since someone so skilled had crossed her path, but it most surely was the furthest thing on her mind as she stared him up and down - admiring not only his face & physique, but the beautiful Daisho set at his waist..
But her mental drooling was interrupted by Saito introducing the demon girl beside him as: Misaki Ichizumaru.
"Ichizumaru.....now that's a name i beleive i've heard before" Mamimi said casually, as she once again looked towards the woman.
OOC Notes
His eyes were closed, a serene expression on his face. He was at peace here. Here where so many had died. Opening his violet shaded eyes, he looked afore himself--to the seven notched and rusty swords that jutted out of the mounds of earthen clay. Blood had profusely surged up the length of the blades and ran amuck over them. Saturating them with their own former life's blood. He had taken their lives just a little while ago, snatched their breaths away from their chests--robbed them of their souls. They had brought slavery here, to this sacred shrine that was old and dilapidated.
He consciously willed the time to revert, reflect what he had doe, expressly show him his actions that caused grievance to the seven now buried around him. It was earlier that day, when the sky was still a freshly coated sky blue. Not a star in the sky, nor a moon threatening to usurp the mighty king of the celestial bodies. He was knelt, much as he was now. Calm. Peaceful. Until he heard them...
The rattling of chains. The cries of despair. Children. They were but children in their bondage. One of the seven ronin, a balding an perhaps in his late thirties. His hair had separated to either side of his rounded crown but continued on along the back undisturbed. A handsome look for a man of age, and a suiting hairstyle for this time and age. Yet, he held several young women--all interlinked by a solid chain of crude iron. He held the end in a balled fist--wiling them to follow with the threat of a lashing. He wore simple ashigaru armor; karuta armor was a form of portable folding armor known as "tatami". Karuta were small square or rectangle plates of iron usually connected to each other by chain mail with the plates being sewn to a cloth backing. Chest armors were commonly made from karuta "karuta dou". Karuta jackets "karuta katabira" were also made. Various armor parts were also made from karuta including thigh guards "karuta haidate", shoulder guards "karuta sode" and karuta hoods "karuta zukin".
This man was dressed heavily. He was probably at best, a sub-commander beneath a samurai. But his eyes told Genkei everything--he was a cruel, cruel man. The other six ashigaru that had followed him didn't have look of cruelty, but they did hold themselves superior to the meek and feeble. Their dominace having clouded their perception of what was right or wrong--corrupting it, perverting it until they just simply obeyed without question.
"Whhaat? What're ya doin' here?" The captain called out to him.
"Consider that which exists to exist and that which does not exist to not exist, and recognize things just as they are. With such a frame of mind, one will have divine protection even though he does not pray." Genkei responded, making the ashigaru look at each other in confusion.
"?!?..."
Geneki leaned forwards, placing himself in a prone position as he bowed to the statue in silent reverence, concluding his prayers for the time being. He then leaned back into a sitting position. Sliding one foot out from beneath his posterior, he planted it firmly on the ground vertically as he gripped his uchigatana. The sheathed bladed was somewhat smaller than a tachi-style blade, making it quicker to draw and more convenient to carry as it didn't hinder the use of other weapons such as a pole-arm. It was also worn differently--edge up.
Also unlike the Tachi where drawing and striking with the sword were two completely separate actions--with the uchigatana it became one liquid, lightening fast movement. In this, he startled them. Genkei placed the sword at his hip, thrusting through his obi.
"This humble servant has found himself lost." Genkei said with a smile, a kind one at that. His eyes perceiving the situation he was in as he stood facing these men. He noticed the young girls probably around fifteen or so, just becoming women in their own right. They were disheveled, sweaty and dirty from a hard days labor. Probably pulled them right off the rice fields. He clasped his hands lightly together.
"Now, why don't you tell me what you're going to do with those fine young women..."
OOC Notes
"My name is Misaki Ichizumaru, demon samurai lord of the north and guardian of the Hakusan region. I am pleased to meet another demon in these parts. Those here who might have heard my name probably exaggerated with the stories and portrayed me as a blood crazy demon who moves through the lands to kill humans. But my intentions are far from that. I came to this region to liberate the oppressed and enslaved demons." Misaki said holding her sheathed katana in front of her as if it was a walking cane. "So what brings a demon like your to this area?"
OOC Notes
Misaki then asked her what exactly she was doing in this city, causing Mamimi to turn around and looked down upon Itsukisato. "Well i guess you could say i had a job of sorts, on the outskirts of Itsukisato, and when i was done i needed a few, or 5, bowls of noodles!" Mamimi said gleefully, as she thought of having a few more bowls of Yakisoba. She then turned around and faced Misaki again....but her gaze quickly glided back to Saito. "So now that we've established what we're all doing here, i think it's time to relax for the evening......you know, i happened to pass this little inn on the way into town, right beside a hot spring.......i think i'm going to head back there for the night......would you, two, like to follow?" she asked with a friendly smile, and slight ulterior motives. "It'll take an hour or two to reach though....if you're up for that?" she added, as she walked over and stood beside Saito.
OOC Notes
"Sure, I don't mind," Saito answered her promptly, "But, I don't know about Misaki-san..."
Then he suddenly remembered the reasons he was here for.
"Ah... Do you know a sword store on the way there, Mamimi-san?" Saito asked her politely, "Because the blades of my swords are... worn from over-usage..."
He unsheathed his swords to reveal a huge variety of cracks and dents on them. The tsukas seemed to be normal at first glance, but they showed some wear as well... as some parts of it were frayed.
"I..." Saito explained after showing them, "had a big fight a few days ago... So, any stores along the way with some good restaurants as well? I'm a little bit hungry... I only had a bowl of rice for breakfast six hours ago..."
He smiled a little in embarrassment in asking Mamimi so much, but he kept a calm and confident demeanor overall.
(I suppose I can introduce my girl character as we go along the way... Anyone posting now? :o)

Re: [OOC] Hard Times Come
Your post confused me......it made no sense at all to me when i read it the other day...........
You said: "t seemed to take a while for Mamimi to get Sakura. So Misaki went inside to look for Mamimi. After some time, Misaki finally found Mamimi and Mamimi looked like she was in pain. "Mamimi, do not strain yourself too much. You do not look so good. I will see if I find helpful herbs behind the temple."
To me it sounded like you were still talking about last night, and not in the morning...........since "going back to sleep" and morning weren't mentioned in your post - so i just by passed it. But now that i re-read it, i suppose it could of been in the morning??
Even though in my post i didn't make any mention of "taking a while to get Sakura"
o_O
It was just, confusing........
But even so, you said you were going to get herbs, and left.........so what was i suppose to do anyways? Follow you??
I figured Misaki would be back soon with the herbs..........notice in my last post i said "She knew it wouldn't take long for the others to make their way back to the front of the temple" O_O
That obviously shows i read your post about going to the back of the temple, and didn't "ignore" it. o_O
