What's your name: Sylar Hart. Call it girly and I will destroy you.

How old are you?: Seventeen.

Tell me about yourself: I don't like people. They're stupid, destructive, and they talk too much. People at this school are an exception - at least mostly. They're special, like I am. Some of them are still fools, but not all. I can talk to them. Befriend them. They still mistrust me, but that's alright. I probably deserve it. I know I'm not normal, even by their standards. I hold the gaze too long, remain silent when others would speak, enjoy the pain of the people around me. I think some of them suspect what I've been doing with my powers, but that doesn't matter. There's no way to prove that I manipulate people. A thought leaves no traces, no evidence. Perhaps that is why they don't like me - I mess things up, and I get away with it.
I don't work the way most boys my age work. I am spiteful and vindictive, cruel, jealous, bitter, and more than a little arrogant. That sort of thing happens when you spend most of your childhood dying - when you know you're never going to have the physical strength that the boys all around you have. Weak lungs prevent me from running, playing, being normal. I traded my body for my mind. I enjoy doing what I do, being able to make my little "suggestions". I enjoy having control over others, knowing things they don't want me to know. Someday, I will have the power to make others do as I wish them to do. This is all practice for that day. I know that isn't an admirable thought, but I do not really care. I am tired of being pitied, of watching others being pitied all around me. I refuse to be weak any longer. I will be strong, and I will fight for those who do not have the chance that I have. The small, the insignificant, the weak... I will be their dark knight.

So what are your abilities: I am a mind-bender - most would call me a telepath, but I am not limited simply to reading the minds of others. I can reach into their heads, implant thoughts, make "suggestions". I can nudge the people around me into doing things out of their character. Get them into trouble. I do it for fun, mostly, sometimes for revenge. I can pick people's secrets out of their heads, if I try hard enough. Sometimes, when I'm angry, I can cause them pain. Paralyzing pain. I hope that someday I will be able to do it by choice. I am not all powerful - I have not mastered my abilities yet. It still takes too much energy, taxes my weak body too much. I have to see their eyes to do it - once I've made eye-contact I can pick out their thoughts. The power is even stronger if I'm touching someone. Unfortunately, I have not learned to turn if off yet, either. The stray meeting of eyes, the brush of skin on skin - the slightest contact and I know exactly what the other person is thinking. Perhaps that is why I dislike being near to people. It's far, far too noisy in other peoples' heads.

How did you come to the academy?: I grew up with a family that had no clue what I could do. My parents, my older brother, all assumed that because I was sick all the time, couldn't breath right, couldn't run, I was defective. They thought me weak. They had no idea that I could hear these thoughts, that I knew how they pitied me. I hated it. I did not live on the run, I did not have to flee. My family never even knew what I could do. I left, came here, by choice, because I hated them, even as I loved them. My dear brother... sometimes I wonder how he is doing. He was quite attached to me. I know he must miss me, but that is not nearly enough to make me want to go back there. I don't want to be pitied, and I have grown strong enough that I no longer even care whether or not I am loved. So long as I am respected, feared, nothing else matters.

So begins...

Jenny followed Aurora closely to the extent she was practically mounting the girls back. Ignoring the offered hand her greens eyes took in the blue haired boy who introduced himself as 'Yuki'. He seemed strange to her from the word go so when he started flicking snowflakes about and creating animated snow sculptures Jenny shit herself.
The red head was absolutely horror struck by the display and shared a desperate, wide eyed glance with Aurora.

What was going on here. Either she just witnessed the impossible for the second time this week or there was some crazy optical illusions going down. Jenny felt the temptation to feel her forehead and walk away from the scene purely to wash her hands of the past week's sheer madness but moving away would mean severing her contact with her grounded root- Aurora.

So instead she tagged along behind her friend clenching and unclenching her fists hoping to release some of her anxiety.
Yuki led the two or them through the front entrance of the Academy gesturing to various areas of the building as well as mentioning who they were roomed nearby. The reminder made her realise the idea of staying here had become the least appealing thing she'd even been confronted with.
Fortunately Aurora was remaining a cool cucumber and so when Yuki asked their names she replied for the both of them. Jenny could barely get a splutter out. She was still shell shocked by the performance outside. She barely smiled at her name and whatever remnant of a smile there was faded when another blue haired individual sailed down the stairs.

Great another human slushy maker.

The girl seemed to have a bright personality and apparently she was the one they were supposedly roomed nearby. Sparky or Amber. Jenny managed to squeeze out a slightly more convincing smile when the girl didn't spring a heart attack on her with some insane trick. She couldn't say the same for the next girl to appear.
She came bulldozing down the stairs shouting out greetings and something about breakfast. That wasn't what snared Jenny's heart in her throat though...it was the WINGS. She had wings. Huge...feather soft looking wings. Jenny went as stiff as a bored when the sweet smelling girl whisked past bird limbs and all.

Her eyes burnt into the back of Aurora's head with ill-mannered intent. What had this girl gotten her into!! She'd only just been coming to terms with what she'd seen back at school and now this? Surely she wasn't the...only normal one here.

But what if she was.

She'd have to blend in. If this school was for people like Aurora she couldn't reveal that she was...normal. She just couldn't. She'd play it cool until she found a teacher or someone of high authority then after explaining the facts they'd remove her from this house of horrors and pop her right back where she should be...in reality.

"Hey sylar-"

Jenny's eyes darted to yet another new comer. Another boy...he seemed more reserved than the others judging from his approach.

"Hang on one of you isn't normal. Sylar wouldn't have tensed up there otherwise. Ah I see it."

Jenny's eyes shot to Yuki at his remark. How could either of them know. Was this Sylar psychic. Was Yuki a psychic of psychic. No maybe he just presumed one of them was different from this Sylar's reactions, but she hadn't noticed any tenses. Her eyes met with Yuki and in response she tilted her chin up in defence. She wouldn't let on she was normal but if there was a psychic in this bunch it was game over rather soon.

Yuki turned his attention rather quickly to Aurora and asked what she was capable of doing. Jenny was perfectly capable of accounting for that one.
Clearing her throat rather timidly she smiled faintly. "You should see her...she's amazing" she croaked sharing a glance with her special friend.
There was no doubt even though Aurora had been hiding something big (and apparently like changing) from her...she'd stood up for her when it mattered most. Like a true friend.

When Yuki mentioned about liars and landed his gaze on her Jenny looked back with hard eyes. "I'm sure there's a few people round here who can see right through others...y'know psychics and all that" she responded evenly. The game wasn't up yet.

Yuki laughed slightly. "Indeed, Jenny. Although, some are better at this game than others." He grinned, shoving Sylar affectionately. "So.. Yeah. Sparky can take care of you. Hmmph." He grunted, his eyes turning into their blue and he pulled his hood up. "Sparky, Sylar, i'm off to my.. Area, we'll call it. You know where to find me."

Yuki smiled as snowflakes appeared from nowhere and coverged on him. He disppeared with them, and reappeared in a small cave with a white shrine in the center, and white scrolls all over. All of them had different Kanji on them. He sat down and opened one that had the Kanji for Heaven on it. The walls suddenly lit up, and the parchment was transferred from the scroll to the Wall.

He sat back and started making different handsigns.
"Bird (ι…‰, Tori)
Boar (δΊ₯, I)
Dog (戌, Inu)
Dragon (θΎ°, Tatsu)
Ox (δΈ‘, Ushi)
Tiger (ε―…, Tora)
Snake (ε·³, Mi)
Rat (子, Ne)
Horse (午, Uma)
Monkey (η”³, Saru)
Hare (卯, U)
Ram (ζœͺ, Hitsuji)" He muttered, afterwards placing his hands on the scroll, and snow and ice flying throughout the cavern. "See, this is why i don't get out much."

Aurora could feel Jenny behind her, clinging to her like glue. She was now so close behind her, one could maybe assume there really was some super glue incident. This made her want nothing more than to just drag her away from everyone, if there was another display of powers, another look what I can do - it probably wouldn't sit well with Jenny. And why would it? This kind of stuff was only seen in movies, she was only used to it for the obvious reasons. Another person seemed to have approached, they were extremely soft spoken, but in this moment, they weren't the person that interested her.

"Hey, Sylar. These are the newbies, as you have guessed." As you have guessed? She thought to herself.

Everyone seemed to be sizing them up, bombarding them, behind the friendly faces - if they could be called that, they had to know everything about them. Human nature was so nosy sometimes, a person had to know everything, had to judge a book by its cover. And if they didn't figure something out right away, they would create their own little story and label a person with it. But her, it had to do with abilities, she glanced behind her a bit at Jenny, whom shouldn't be here at all. There was an eeriness that came from the boy next to her, people were so deceiving - sometimes. The boy knew one of them was normal and one of them wasn't, what the hell is normal anyways. He also claimed to know which person that was - and he did. She watched his eyes change colors, and his aura seemed to change with it. She heard Jenny comment on her, and her expression went cold. She went from light hearted to this, in probably a span of thirty seconds.

"Nothing interesting." she said, grinning. She didn't care to elaborate on Jenny's comment, maybe the all seer here could see her powers. It didn't really mattered, they were stuck here it seemed. That was unless, they should plan some escape for themselves. Doubtful, however, they would be all over that shit. However, she did take this as a personal challenge for sometime in the future. She was right about the school, it was centered around the students training their abilities, which technically could do several things, birth super heroes, birth super villains, create power hunger psychos - if they weren't already - the list then continued to grow in her head and she decided not to think about it anymore. "You don't like liars? Well I'm glad you can see through all the bullshit then." Aurora was practically in the boy's face, but stepped away, her interest was now the other boy, who was now made out to be some kind of psychic, or someone who could see people. Aurora never liked when people bothered her about her history, about herself. She seemed to step into the inevitable. One of two things could be done, she could try and avoid this boy forever, or even both of the boys, or....

"So you like to pry your nose in where it doesn't belong? And you enjoy yourself am I right?" She looked at the boy then, walking up to him - hoping that Jenny wasn't behind her. "Well come on, I guess if this was my ability that would be all I do with my life too." she walked closer to him. "Pry into other people's business, I'm such an exciting person." She sounded sarcastic and vindictive all at once. A pink chain appeared between her and the boy, it was only fair, she could share this all seeing bullshit. She wanted Jenny to run, she wanted her to get out of here, but in the least, she wanted her to hide. Perhaps he was capable of more, so much more, the tone Snowy had took with him before he walked away made her think that there was some kind of negative use behind those powers, and there was nothing she hated more. Rainbows, sunshine, and butterflies. Poptarts, pistachios, and peanut butter crackers. She thought in a singsong voice, she then started thinking of music. I like big butts and I cannot lie! Them other brothers can't deny! And the song went on and on. She imagined herself dancing to it - doing the chicken dance for some reason.

Mel woke up unusually early. She lay in bed trying to determine what exactly had woken her, but there wasn't really anything happening. She tried to fall back asleep for a while before giving up and slipping out of bed. She quickly dressed and slipped out of her room, looking up and down the hall to see if anyone else was up. Since all was still, she quickly and silently walked around to the library. Maybe she could get a good start on that book she was looking at the other day. Mel soon came to the door and pushed it open with a small creak, letting it close behind her as she breathed in the dusty smell of the still, dark, medium sized library.

"Now where was it?" Mel said softly to herself, walking further in until she found the correct aisle. She then grabbed the book and sat down in a small windowsill that couldn't be seen from the door and that had a view over the front drive of the school. She had spent many hours there. She quickly began reading and was soon immersed in the tale of a princess who ended up having to save her knight in shining armor instead of him saving her. Mel was enjoying the princess's sarcastic and outspoken point of view. What if I was like that, she thought, closing the book slowly with her thumb saving her place. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a car coming up the drive. She glanced over to see the sun already up. It was already much later in the morning. It was almost time for breakfast. She looked down, watching as Yuki got up to greet the people getting out of the car. It was two girls. They were probably new students.

I wonder what their stories are, she shook her head. Some of those who ended up here had sad, and even tragic stories. Mel had ended up hearing many of them though she wouldn't be the one to ask about that kind of thing. It was probably because people tended to forget she was in the room at all. She had heard many interesting stories that way, not always just about student's previous lives either. Her attention turned back to the newcomers as she watched them walk in, Yuki trailing behind them. One of the girls had red hair and the other had blond hair. They both looked around Yuki's age. Now Mel would have to get used even more people. She sighed. She would have to meet them eventually. Maybe at breakfast. She still had time though. She read another couple pages before she stopped. She found a piece of paper to use as a bookmark, put the book down on the windowsill, and left the library.

As Mel walked downstairs, she noticed Yuki, Amber, and Sylar standing around talking to the new girls. The atmosphere seemed unusually tense as Yuki walked away. She stood where she was, peering around the corner, waiting for the group to leave the hallway before she went to breakfast.

Mel watched the group, especially the two new girls, while still mostly hidden from view. There was something about the red head that seemed odd. Mel guessed it was the fact that she stuck so close to the blonde and seemed nearly terrified. She didn't seem to say much and was unsure when she did say something. Most of the time when there was a new arrival, they might be surprised that there were so many others like them, and were usually still tired and sad from the life they left behind, but Mel had never seen someone so frightened by all of this.

The blonde on the other hand seemed confident in herself. She also seemed quite concerned and protective over the other girl. Before Yuki had left, she had seemed to act almost threatening towards him, and now her manner seemed to imply that she was taunting Sylar as well. Maybe she felt either she or her friend was threatened and she was simply defending herself. It was either that or she was naturally confrontational. Mel knew she would just have to keep an eye on her to find that one out.

Soon after Yuki left, Amber left as well. Those three seem to be moving off, Mel thought with a small sigh of relief. She was starting to get hungry and could just barely smell the sent of breakfast cooking. She was about to leave her spot, when someone touched her, sending a painful, but thankfully small static shock through her shoulder.

"Ouch!" she said, jumping and quickly turning around to see who it was, though she already had a good guess.

"Hey Mel-Mel" said Amber. Mel smiled as she said, "Hello, Amber." She glanced back toward the dining area. It would be rude to just walk away without saying anything or at least inviting her along. "Want some breakfast?" she asked simply, pointing a thumb in the general direction of the dining room.
