A small girl with blood red eyes, porecelain skin and a disenchanted countenance. She takes the roll of an indifferent vigilante, though is constantly wondering if life is just one big equation or if there is something more.
Rochelle is a small girl, standing just about five-foot five-inches, with her platform boots on. Her skin looks of porcelain, almost as though she was carved from the stone itself, and is complimented by long, light blond hair that flows down to her waist. Her hair is adorned in two very long pigtails, tied up with two large, pointed black bows that look reminiscent of rabbit ears. Her eyes are large and crimson in color, though almost always carry a look of boredom or tiredness, causing her eyes to look half-closed at all times. Her face is full, though her cheekbones are high, giving her a certain womanly look and her eyes are close-set, with the bridge of her small, pinched nose residing in between. Just below her nose is her small mouth, which has seemingly no lips to speak of, as they are just like the rest of her features and very small. Her neck is short, and is often covered by her large collar if she is 'in-uniform', which leads down to her small shoulders. Her womanly features are never exaggerated nor shown off, though her attire is very elegant and ladylike, reminiscent of older, Victorian times. Her thin, athletic body is hidden under her black bodice, which is then covered by a large-collared black button-down vest. The collar of this vest is popped up at all times, covering the majority of her head and parting in the front-middle as to show her face, and is always tied with a large, crimson bow tie that compliments her eyes and is about as large as her chest. The bodice is also adorned with large, round, flat shoulder pads that adorn two large crimson crosses with thick white outlines. The sleeves of the bodice are large adorned with a white lace on the insides; the sleeves also show off Rochelle's arms, though tucked high up in the shoulder pads are small mechanical devices, which on the right side hold various knives and the left hold various small pistols. These devices are designed to allow Rochelle a weapon at any time with a tightening of her shoulder muscles, which causes a weapon to drop down into her hand.
Her waist is met with a high-set large, black dress skirt. The skirt is multi-layered with two black cloths draping down from the left and right, adorning two crimson-colored inverted crosses with a thick black outline, darker than the neutral black of the rest of her outfit. The black skirt surrounding her lower half underneath the two excess pieces of fabric is actually made of a light kevlar-esque material, making it nearly bulletproof due to the excess of white frills and lacing underneath, which peek out from underneath the dress and provide extra cushioning as to further block the impact from getting to her body. Her stockings, while barely visible underneath all the white frill, go thigh-high and are a solid, elegant black. She wears jet-black boots with large metal platforms, which allow her to appear taller than she actually is. Rochelle also carries a rather large, black umbrella in her smal hands, which she rests on her right shoulder at nearly all times. At times, she can use the tall umbrella as a weapon to devastating effect.
Rochelle is very cool, calculating, and quiet. She sees nearly everything as a problem, searching for a final result. She believes that she is the solution to all problems, and that everything is the solution to hers, allowing her a very bored outlook on life. Usually, she carries a look of pure boredom and disenchantment wherever she goes, and constantly wonders if things like 'heroes', 'villains', 'good' and 'evil' are more complex than they seem or just parts of one huge equation. She often dreams of one day finding that life is more than just this, though has yet to find that it is. Though this sort of demeanor allows her to do her job, vigilantism, very well as she is often indifferent about what she must do to get the job done, even if it means killing another being. Her weaknesses lie in her inability to understand strong emotion, as she seldom feels them, and her inability to truly understand what is right and what is wrong.
Having a cool head, she has no real physical 'ticks' or habits that she does on a normal basis, other than tapping her foot when impatient, though when alone she is often lost in thought and is constantly daydreaming. Though this quickly changes around other beings, as she becomes incredibly focused and cautious around them. She is inherently distrusting of all things that have otherwise earned her hard-earned trust, and even around those she can trust she never lets her guard down and is always ready for nearly anything. It is not often you see Rochelle, often called by her last name Blood, wear any sort of emotion on her face and it is more seldom you see her care about anything, though when she does feel strongly she most definitely shows it. When truly angered, she will wear a countenance of tired rage, in which a fire seems to have sparked in her eyes. When happy or amused, she will wear a slight grin on her face, her eyes usually showing a sense of alleviation. When annoyed, she will raise a brow and usually attempt to vacate the area. When she speaks it is usually in a soft monotone, even when she is feeling a strong emotion; which makes the surefire way to find out how strongly she feels about something the tone of her voice.
Rochelle is often considered by many to be a technological genius, creating machinery, tools, and machinations of all varieties and as such has many tools at her disposal. Her most used tools are her portable weapon dispensers, which she calls DROP-ARMs, that are hidden underneath her shoulder pads. The DROP-ARM unit on the left side of her body allows her access to various pistols, four in total, each loaded with a different caliber of bullet, while the right unit gives her access to five different kinds of tactical combat knives, varying in length and utility. The umbrella that she carries around is made of steel, and is spiked at the very top, and is longer than she is tall. When closed, it can serve as a great makeshift weapon, sort of like a bo staff. She is currently attempting to work on a sort of "magic dampening" device, as her body is still human despite having a power that is magic-based, thus making her VERY vulnerable to these types of attacks. Her Umbrella is the first step of this, as it is made out of a fire-retardant leather material, able to shield her from flame-based attacks for a long period of time when opened..
Born Rochelle DeLyria, she was the youngest of three of mother Beatrice Granada and father Allastor DeLyria, and was the 5th 'blood child' of the DeLyria family. To be born a DeLyrian 'Blood Child' means to be born with red eyes and the unusual power called the 'Phantom Pain' that only women of the DeLyrian family could inherit and, according to the family history was a sign of ill omen. This 'Phantom Pain' was a power of darkness that traced back to the first DeLyrian man, the only man to have ever known the 'Phantom Pain', and soon found that the power would be passed on to future generations. No one knows why the DeLyrians have such a power, nor why it is so rare to be born with it, nor why it only affects females while the first one to obtain it was a man, though it did not matter. The omen was here, and it was ill, and as such Rochelle was always watched over with a sense of caution and fear. Rochelle proved to share no resemblance to either parent, but to the man that had first inherited this dreadful power, and as she grew older this power began to surface in her, and attempt to control her. The very essence of the Phantom Pain is one of vampiric origins, as it is the power to drain the victim's life force and feed it to the user, revitalizing them without the use of actually draining the blood of the victim, but making them grow weaker instead. The power is one that is very hard to maintain and control, and when Rochelle was just ten years old, she lost all control over this dreadful power as it turned on her parents. Seeming to have a mind of it's own, the visible red-and-black power signatures of the Phantom Pain took Rochelle's parents and drained the life out of her mother, feeding it to the helpless child. Miraculously, her father survived the brutal attack from the dark force, and as the power was drawn back into Rochelle, she broke down and began to cry. Attempting to comfort her more than anything else, her father Allastor offered to help in any way he could to aid her in the control of this dreadful power. Not knowing what to do, Rochelle accepted, and so they researched.
The two researched for a total of five years, Rochelle attempting to use technology and her father attempting to use magic and witchcraft that he had began reading about, though together they found that there could be no way to control it outside of discipline in oneself and so the two began to practice right away. Rochelle found that harnessing this terrible power wasn't as hard as she thought it to be, and the more and more she began to understand and control it, the more cold she became to everything, and everyone, else. Continuing to pursue technology in it's fullest, she had been renowned as a prodigy at the age of seventeen, and soon began to create and sell new inventions and blueprints to inventions for large sums of money, allowing her and her father to live in comfort. During the years she spent inventing, she also found ways to manipulate her Phantom Pain, such as concentrating to the point where her weaponry and projectiles would be covered in the red-and-black aura of the Phantom Pain and still deliver the same result as if it was simply unleashed in it's raw form. Three years later, her father died in his sleep and the autopsy proved inconclusive, it seems as though he lost all strength in his body. Rochelle's siblings blame her for what happened to her father and mother and hate their younger sister, though Rochelle believes that if they were as strong as she was they would have lived and not folded under the crushing might of the Phantom Pain. Disgusted, siblings Ezekiel and Josephine DeLyria refused to see Rochelle as their sister any longer and stopped all contact with their little sister. Rochelle, however, felt this to be a blessing in disguise, as she wanted no part in any family who she deemed to be so weak, uninteresting, and above all, stupid. She changed her name to Rochelle Blood, in homage to her vampiric powers, and continued to invent new things and sell them off to the highest bidder.
Soon, though, Rochelle grew bored with tinkering and inventing and pondered what she could do to make up for all the last time she had spent simply making trivial little gizmos and gadgets that people would ultimately find obsolete anyway? She then took up vigilantism as her new 'profession', simply going by the name of 'Blood' and decided this was the way she was meant to live life. Soon, though even being a vigilante seemed boring, as the use of her Phantom Pain and technological advances (the ones she kept to herself) proved to be near-unstoppable. Though, she also realizes that she has to do something for a living, so inventing gadgets and doing her little vigilante odd jobs would have to do for now. To break this overbearing monotony, she travels and takes jobs from anyone, anywhere in an attempt to make something that is now not interesting into something that can still yield a decent amount of intrigue.
