The date was October, Friday 13th, 2000.

In Washington DC, United States of America;

In London, England;

In Paris, France;

In Geneva, Switzerland;

In Moscow, Russia;

In Shanghai, China;

In Tokyo, Japan;

In Sydney, Australia;

There was a blast, in each of these major cities. All explosions occurred within 100 seconds of each other, starting in America, and ending in Australia.

Nobody was killed.
Nobody was hurt.
Nothing was damaged.

But our Heroes disappeared.

So did our Villains.

Their bodies were never found.
The explosions were never explained.

Two years after the Explosion, two sibling Heroes resurfaced.
Their names, as everyone knew, were Hera and Percy, twins. They, like all Heroes, had had a secret identity, but their family had given that up to save Chiron, another Super, about three years before the blast.
Hera, Rhea, Horus and Percy were multi-millionaires, through family fortunes and, as Rhea had once put it, 'common sense on the markets'. They could afford to be out in the open. Rhea and Percy announced their retirement, and that their siblings, Hera and Horus, who were also twins, were found dead. They were to be buried in the family crypt, but the City of London, where the siblings were from, all attended the service, or held their own, while millions watched on T.V.

Rhea and Percy locked themselves away, attending to their business. This was the last to be seen of any of the Super Heroes.
