Description

Name: Patrick Miller
Image
General information:

Age: 29
Power: Super speed, with a little more details he can run faster than the human eye can follow this means while he's running he is completely invisible, but only while he's running, he can also run on water, and with enough momentum run up the sides of buildings.
Status: Hero trainer
Face claim: Sean Patrick Flanery
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Image
Physical Appearance:

Patrick is 6' 1" and is lean and muscular, though not body builder, but still has the hard muscles of someone who works out. He has tan and clear skin apart from a couple tattoos and bullet scars. While out on missions (training or otherwise) his body language is strong and tall, every movement is intentional and yet still fluid and holds his easy-going attitude. During normal days, or while back at the base, his body language is much calmer and more relaxed. He walks with a bit of a strut, though not necessarily a "I'm better than you strut" and more of a "I'm so happy, I'm high" kind of strut. He's always looking up, always looking into people's faces and eyes directly, usually while he walks his arms are in the pockets of his jacket. Whenever he sits his feet always have to be up, in a very relaxed position, this means that if he's on a couch and there's no foot stool that whoever is sitting next to him will become the foot stool.

He has spiky, short, brown hair and a the shadow of a mustache and beard. He has ice blue eyes that are usually crinkled with a joke inside them. He is usually always smiling and when he laughs his whole face becomes crinkled with the laughter. However when his face is serious, he thins his lips, suddenly there is no more laughter, his eyes will harden, and what's left is just a very stoic and still face. When sad his whole face becomes red, a vein pops out in his head; he doesn't really do a silent sad, when he's sad he's probably yelling and crying at the same time. There is also no anger, just that stoic look that means he means business and everything he does he is in control of.
Marks: He has a tattoo of the virgin Mary on the left side of his neck and three white bullet scars in his right shoulder that he connected with with the three-fold Celtic knot though it isn't a perfect triangle shape.
General clothing: He typically wears a dark colored t-shirt, a black coat, and jeans, with hiking boots, but on his days off from training the heroes or if he

Personality:

Patrick is the "funny man", he loved a good joke, he loves to make people laugh, and to laugh himself. He usually always has a smile on his face and a laugh in his throat; he prefers to see the world through rose-colored glasses, the glass half full, and see the best of everyone even if he has just met them and doesn't know them. He gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, even villains, often times giving them a second chance to do the right thing. It isn't hard to get him to like you, just by talking to him and opening up a little he will act like your best friend, which for some people this is kind of weird. He has an almost constant energy, he can't sit still or do steak outs very well, if he does happen to be still for too long (with the added bonus of having to be quiet) he'll start whistling/humming/etc. or he'll just jump right out.

However, he isn't without his flaws. Patrick is on the verge of becoming an alcoholic. This isn't because he is overly depressed and is trying to drown his sorrows, he just likes the certain euphoric mindset it comes with it. While he's drunk, he isn't mean, angry, or violent; he's more of what you would call the giggly drunk, when he drinks suddenly everything becomes funny, this can also mean that when people are sad or serious about something and are trying to confide in him he will most likely laugh like a school girl about it. In the past he has tried a couple times to stop drinking, but alcohol (especially whiskey) is a great weakness to him and one that he can't say no to. He also isn't the type of person you would take home to meet your family, his sense of humor can be rather crude, on the boarder line of offensive. Such as "Don't be such a girl about it" when he's talking to a girl, the thing people have to remember is that when he says stuff like this he doesn't mean to be offensive and you can call him out on it if it bothers you enough.

When he's working, as a hero trainer, and out on missions his whole personality seems to quiet. He's still the same old care-free, joker he always has been, but it seems to almost hide behind a more serious exterior. When it comes down to it, he may joke and laugh all the time, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know a serious situation, at least when he's sober. He knows his job and is completely determined to get to his initial goal almost at any costs. Patrick has, what people might say, as a hero complex, he has always felt he was the one responsible if a criminal went unpunished and it was his responsibility to save absolutely everyone. If he sees someone being bullied or pushed around on the street it will suddenly become his responsibility to make sure no one gets hurt, often times he usually doesn't get thanked or quite the opposite, but he will always save everyone whether it's asked for or not, whether that puts himself in a more dangerous position or not; he feels that that is his purpose in life.

Likes: whiskey, meat, skydiving and other such activities, cooking (loves cooking French food the most), dancing around like a fool, and singing/whistling/humming
Dislikes: too much silence, heat waves/Summer, the mornings, seeing others in pain (and nobody doing anything about that), caves/being underground, and having nothing to do/sitting still
Fears: that "bad guys" will go unpunished (i.e. rapists, mobsters, murders, etc.), having someone die on his account, and being buried alive
Weaknesses: If he runs too long he can spontaneously com-bust, he likes to take risks (even just for fun) and often times forgets about consequences, he's on the edge of becoming an alcoholic (he isn't yet, but his drinking is getting worse), he has a problem of not sitting still and gets antsy (when he gets antsy he'll either start whistling or will run and save the day waiting be damned), and he isn't a planner more of a think on your feet kind of person (makes it even worse that "thinking on his feet" isn't really thinking because he's run by his emotions)
Strengths: He will never leave someone behind (even a villain), he has faith that everyone has a little good in them, he has vigorously trained his body so that not only can he run farther and longer than when he was younger but he can also rely on his (normal human) strength in a fight, when he sets his mind to something he will do almost anything till he gets it, and people trust him easily not because of a silver tongue or anything but just because he doesn't hide any part of himself (except his powers during everyday life) and this gets noticed

History:

Patrick was born in Boston, in the "slums" section. He grew up without ever knowing his dad, so it was just him, his mum, and little brother. His mum worked as a waitress for two different places; a cafe during the day and pub during evening and night. They never had a lot of money to go on, but enough to live well enough. Patrick went to public school and was the class clown of every class. There were a couple classes in which the teacher loved him and loved how happy and energetic he was, but otherwise he had gotten detention more often than not for disrupting the class. In high school is when his powers showed up, he was walking home when he got jumped near an alley; he had to go pick up his little brother from home so he was making a run for it rather than fighting, the next thing he knew he felt a little winded, his hair was sticking up, and he was at his brothers school.

However running away like that had marked him to the thugs. It hadn't taken the thugs that long to find out where he lived. His mum was at work, so only he and his brother were at home. Patrick had gotten pretty badly beaten, but his brother had been killed after getting in the way. The thugs had run off before they could finish Patrick off because they heard sirens getting closer. They had never been caught and for the rest of high school that had killed Patrick every single day. Since his powers had emerged Patrick would spend more time running around the city rather than on his homework. He had just barely gotten his GED and for him that was a great accomplishment. His mum, after his brother's death, had become very depressed and turned to alcohol. After Patrick had gotten his GED he had sent his mum to rehab to get better because he didn't want to lose her as well. Only once she was gone did Patrick realize that there was nothing for him in Boston anymore. He had done some digging for information about others with powers such as himself because he refused to believe he was the only one. That's when he heard of a group in New York City.

He traveled over there, only taking a little under a day to get there. When he arrived he got himself an apartment and a job in a meat factory to stay while he did more digging on this group. He actually found out there were two; heroes and villains. The villains concerned him because of what happened to his brother he had become very protective of everybody, and is actually when he had developed his hero complex. So he until he was certain of where to find the heroes he had started fighting the villains on his own, sort of becoming a local hero on his block. This is when another man had arrived, his name was Gregor, who had invited him to join the heroes. Patrick, to say the least, was ecstatic and agreed immediately. He moved out of his apartment and into the heroes base, though he kept his job at the meat factory because over the years the workers actually became his family; they would pull jokes on one another all the time. Patrick trained with mostly Gregor, as he had a similar power to Patrick's. Gregor showed him how he had to maintain weight lifting and working out in order to stay in shape enough to expand his power. When Gregor became too old, he retired and put Patrick in his place. It had taken a couple years to get used to training others while keeping up with his own training he had learned from Gregor, but he has finally got a hold of it. Sufficed to say, Patrick is proud of the fact that since he was put in charge he had never had a trainee die, go missing, quit, or maimed while he was on watch.
Significant events: His brother dying which made him develop his hero complex, sending his mom to rehab which is what made him leave Boston for New York City, and becoming Gregor's apprentice because this has made him want to become the best hero/trainer he can be and why he keeps up with his own training instead of becoming lazy.
Joining the group: He joined because he wanted to stop the evil in the world; he wanted to punish any people who pulled something morally wrong (i.e. child molesters, rapist, mafioso, murders) and also to finally meet others like himself

The Beginning of Something new
Patrick Miller

Patrick had just returned from his daily run around the Manhattan island. Even though he has superhuman speed, on these runs he often times practices self-restraint and runs at a more human speed, so the run usually lasts about a couple hours or so. On his run everything had been fairly quiet, crime-wise, except that Patrick had heard on the news while running through the downtown area that the government was going to be shipping some important merchandise that day. The news hadn't said what, probably hoping to keep it secret so anyone thinking of stealing wouldn't get any ideas, but Patrick knew that the villains in the city wouldn't care what they were stealing. With this bit of information his hear started to weigh a bit heavier the rest of the run.

Patrick came into the house, it was small, but then again most places were rather small in New York City, it was also the best that everyone could afford with their day jobs. Patrick went to his room, passing by the kitchen, and got some fresh clothes, heading to the bathroom to clean up. It seemed there were a few others up, but he figured the rest were still in bed. It had become a habit for him to wake up at about five in the morning to go for his run, this way he could easily return by eight or nine.

"Morning all," Patrick greeted those who were in the kitchen getting ready for the day, "You might want to get dressed here pretty soon, I may have a training mission for you that we'll need to go to soon." He then left the kitchen, walking up the narrow staircase. The hallway was practically dead with silence, he started walking down the hall and knocking on all the doors as he passed, a bit of an over-kill as there were already some people up, but he didn't really have his thoughts in the area to think about who he had seen in the kitchen and where their rooms were. Patrick didn't even have to raise his arms too far in order to knock on the doors considering how narrow the hallway was.

At the end of the hallway he turned around and called, "Meeting in the kitchen, get dressed and get ready, we may have a mission already for you today!" And with that he headed back down the hallway, knocking on all the doors again, just to annoy the late sleepers enough to get their butts out of bed.

Back in the kitchen Patrick put together his breakfast of cereal and sat down at the bar area. The nice thing about having such a small space, with three rooms acting as one, was that there was enough chairs for everyone to sit on and it would still be in his direct line of sight. He ate while he waited, it was always good for him to have something to do while he waited because that would curb his impatience enough for those who move at normal human speed to catch up. Though that didn't stop him from bouncing his leg and quietly humming to himself. He looked around the kitchen at the face of those who were already up and taking their seats for the meeting, Chris seemed to not be one of them.

"Where's Chris?" Patrick asked his fellow heroes, "She needs to be here for this."

Chris was always one to wake up earlier that most people. Sleep had never really been an issue for her, so she'd often be sitting in her bed reading in the wee hours of the morning, or on some occasions would be in the kitchen cooking breakfast for the others in the house. Sometimes she'd wake up early enough to catch Patrick before he went for his morning run, and they'd greet each other before going their separate ways for the time being.

This particular morning was no different. She woke up early, around 5 or so, and spent a few minutes catching up on the book she was currently reading. Once getting bored with that, she wandered the house for a bit. It was still dark out, but Chris didn't mind that as she enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning when she woke up in time to watch it happen. The cold morning air felt good on her skin when she would walk outside, the fresh spring earth, cool and damp by the morning dew, was soft on her bare feet as she often walked out in her pyjamas. Birds sang as they danced around each other in the sky, causing the smallest of smiles to come to Chrises face, and a small chuckle to escape as two birds spun around a tree, then stumbled in the air as if it were dizzy.

Chris went inside after about thirty minutes, and chose that time to prepare for the day. Few people were awake, and those who were were probably in their rooms doing whatever they did in their free time.

After taking a quick shower, she heard Patrick call a meeting in the kitchen. She had quickly gotten dressed, an elegant black blouse with black dress pants, and made her way into the kitchen to meet the others. She still had a towel in hand, drying her dripping wet blond hair.

Right when she was about to enter the room, Patrick had asked the others where she was.

"I'm here" she answered while taking a seat next to him. "What's up?"

Last night Scott was up late, on the roof of the building doing his usual stargazing. Amazingly this time he hadn't fell asleep outside but barely made it to his bed. There was a knock on the door followed by Patrick speaking "Meeting in the kitchen, get dressed and get ready, we may have a mission already for you today!" The knock was enough for Scott to open his eyes with a groan as he sat up in his messy bed "Ugh...". Silence filled the room as Scott's eyes adjusted to the light but then there was another knock at the door which made him grown in annoyance and get up from bed.

The young man rubbed the back of his head before he stretched out and yawned. He was still tired but he knew he had to get up or he was gonna hear it from Patrick. Shuffling over to his nightstand, Scott grabbed his toothbrush and headed out his bedroom door yawning again. He wandered down the hall towards the bathroom in his camo pj's and a black tanktop. When he saw that the door was closed he knock lightly waiting for a reply, when non was given though he opened the door and proceeded to do with morning hygiene.

After Scott finished in the bathroom he went back to his room and changed into his outfit for the day before making his way downstairs. He passed right by Chris as he noticed she just came down also and headed towards the fridge pulling out a bottle of root beer. Scott knew that it wasn't the most healthy breakfast but it did it's job and got him up in the mornings. " Morning " he greeted everyone as he pulled up a chair, spinning it around so he sat backwards on it t the table sipping his root beer. " So what's the mission?"

Daniel rolled over in his bed when he heard the knock on his door, not being a morning person he was not too happy in being woken up so abruptly and pulled the covers over his head rolling over with every intention of falling back asleep, the nightmares were becoming more rare and he was finally getting to enjoy his sleep instead of waking up in the middle of the night from visions of people he knew being ripped apart because of what he could do, jolting upright in bed in a cold sweat and sometimes screaming out names in the night. But when he heard the second knock he whipped around tossing his pillow at the door and groaning, but it was too late he was already awake and there was no helping it now he had no choice but to get up. He grabbed the dagger in it's holder at his nightstand wrapping it around his waist, he had begged the trainers to allow him to keep a weapon for missions in place of depending on his powers which he didn't much like to use in the first place, after a few weeks he was allowed to have a dagger and was trained to use it everyday in hopes that he would become skilled enough so that he might be able to use his "gift" as less as possible. He threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt zipping up his favorite hoodie before opening his door and giving his head a quick shake trying to tame his messy hair to no avail. He looked both ways before wandering down the hall and towards the dining room taking a seat near the back. He wondered what the big deal was calling a meeting so early and thought it might just be some kinds of petty theft a mission he was all too familiar in dealing with, he had been in training for several months and had gone out on a few missions but they were only a few drug store robberies and one bank heist, he hadn't done much during these missions but he was learning a lot from them and he had only used his powers very sparingly during training, he was still a bit nervous about using them and didn't like how exhausted he felt afterward. He leaned back in the chair he was sitting in crossing his arms over his chest defensively not saying a word but looking around at everyone else in the room waiting for the meeting to start.

Jay glanced up as she watched Patrick approach the house. She sat up on the roof and had been up around the same time the main left, simply watching the sun rise and listening to the world wake up. It was a simple routine that she did everyday, partly because she always drew comfort from the sun rising, bringing an end to the dark night. She woke up the same time as Patrick did, being a light sleeper is wasn't hard to be awoken by the mistaken bangs and soft footsteps. She would then wait until her returned before entering the house and returning to her room to change out of her PJs.

Pulling herself up, she began to make her way cross the roof top towards her window. Dropping herself down so that she was hanging off the ledge, she rested her feet upon her window pane and swinging herself into the dark room she called her own. Landing easily, Jay made her way towards her wardrobe and pulled on her outfit for the day. Once she was dressed, she exited the room, both handguns slipped into her holster as she made her way done the hallway towards the kitchen.

She didn't bother stopping at the bathroom, she had done everything she needed when she first woke up and knowing Patrick, he had probably called everyone to a meeting in the kitchen if the sudden flurry of life was anything to go by. Entering the kitchen, Jay made her way towards the cupboards, snatching the root beer out of Scott's hand and taking a sip before handing it back with a playful grin, pulling out the lucky charms cereal and making herself up a bowl which she set down next to Daniel. "Sup Danny Boy, give me a smile", she commented with amusement, looking over at the silent kid.

"So Patty, whats the mission ya got for us??", she asked with curiousity, though he probably wouldn't tell until everyone was here but blugh, who cares, she was curious.

Evelyn opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling of her room. She had dreamed again of her little sister, who she hadn't seen for years and years. Tears pricked her eyes as she thought of how much Paisley must have grown up. She wiped the spots of water from her eyes and sat up slowly.

The sun was just peaking over the horizon, from the looks of the light that shone through her window. She sat there, looking out the window, wondering what today would bring, and quickly brushed white-blonde hair from her face, trying to wake herself up. Then came a knock at the door, and Evie's head snapped towards the door. Oh, there was a meeting in the kitchen. Already. At this time of morning. Great!

Evelyn dragged herself out from under the covers of her embroidered duvet, and shuffled along the floorboards to the bathroom. There, she washed her face and applied just a small amount of eyeliner, before smudging it. Then she pulled on a pair of skinny jeans (which weren't so tight that she couldn't move in them) and a loose t-shirt with some sort of band on it that Evelyn couldn't care about enough to remember. She pulled on a pair of black and white converse and headed to the kitchen, running her fingers through her hair as she did so.

"Morning." She muttered as she wandered into the kitchen, yawning. She made her way over to the kettle and quickly made herself a mocha, and sipped at the chocolate-y coffee slowly. The warm feeling traveled down into her stomach and woke her up almost immediately. She quickly found an empty seat and slid into it, placing the mug of the warm brown liquid onto the table in front of her. "So what's up?" She asked in a quiet voice. Her eyes darted down to the table after she asked it. It wasn't her most confident of days. She twiddled her thumbs on her lap, trying to avoid everyone's eyes, and just wanted to head back to her room before anything could happen. But, of course, she would sit and listen. It was the polite thing to do.

Genevieve carefully hung up the phone and leaned back in her office chair sighing deeply and relishing the moment, she had just been informed of some particularly interesting information about mysterious goods. Having several information resources throughout the city news traveled fast and when she got it she would act immediately, leaning over to press a button on her desk she spoke into the intercom system that had been set up in almost every room of the rather large house. She spoke smoothly into the microphone, "There will be a meeting in the dining room in ten minutes, if you're not present you won't get to eat." Genevieve put emphasis on the last word knowing that if nothing else went through that the promise of food certainly would, she lifted her finger off the button and sat back. She knew that this was a perfect incentive for most of the people in the house were rather big eaters and that going without food was not an option. Genevieve placed her elbows on the arms of the chair she was sitting in forming a plan in her head, a plan that would get whatever 'they' had and didn't want her to know about and get it in her possession. She wanted exactly what she couldn't have.

The woman knew that she would have to send out different groups and she was already having to make decisions in her mind about how she was going to separate her team into sections, this was no easy task since some members did not get along so well with others. No quarrels, just conflicting personality types that had to be moved around, when she made her final decisions she closed the open notebook on her desk picking it up and carrying it with her to the dining room where she sat at the head on the rather long table awaiting the arrival of her team who would be arriving any minute. She did all this with the utmost grace and elegance in her satin black dress that fell to her knees and hug her curves making her look utterly flawless. Everything was set in motion all she needed to do was relay the information to the others living in the house and they would head out immediately.

James was in his room, lying on the large king sized bed. Holding above his head was a book, a book on earthquakes and other disasters caused by vibrations. He was simply studying more of what his power is capable of, Vibration Generation can be very dangerous if used at the right time and place after all. It is best to learn about everything that can be done with vibrations, and there was a lot.

Suddenly, the intercom started up, booming a very familiar and kind-ish voice. "There will be a meeting in the dining room in ten minutes, if you're not present you won't get to eat." Ah yes, it was the trainer who is very kind to James. It wasn't long since he joined this organisation, and this woman had already gotten very friendly and gave great kindness to him. Because of joining not long ago, James hadn't really met the other people except for the recruiter, which was the trainer.

And so, James closed his book and gave a small sigh. Hoisting himself onto his feet, James redid his clothing. Straightening them out and sorting his hair to slick back, his usual look.
As he walked to the door, James lit a cigarette and began smoking as he left the room.

Once he arrived at the dining room, James noticed that he was the second person to arrive. The kind trainer was already present, sitting at the head of the large table. "I see I'm the first to arrive, Ms. LeBlanc." James spoke as he grabbed an ashtray and took his seat -two seats away from the trainer-. His voice was monotoned and seemingly bored, but also showed a small hint of relief after seeing the trainer.

James flicked the ash of his cigarette into the ashtray and continued smoking, waiting for the trainer to reply.

Lara McIntosh

Lara had already been up for a while, curled up on a nice comfy chair that was next to one of the windows while she read from her Edgar A. Poe collection. She had kept her lights off, only reading by sun, it's warmth holding her. She was a quick reader and had already gotten through some of Poe's short stories when she heard Genevieve call for everyone to come to a meeting. She had lived with the villains for three years now and knew that typically if Genevieve called for a meeting they were going to go out on a mission.

She sighed and pulled on some clothes, grudgingly taking off her giant sweater and trading it in with a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved black shirt. As for getting ready the rest of the way she just combed her hair, brushed her teeth, and pulled long red hair into a ponytail. She could hear some talking going on downstairs already and figured she would be the last, or at least one of the last, people to show up in the dining room. Of course she did stop by the kitchen and got a bagel and a cup of apple cider. It seemed odd for the morning she knew, but it reminded her of Autumn and so it couldn't be helped. Lara arrived in the dining room and sat next to the seat that was across from Genevieve, her usual seat by that was typically by the other trainer, Jack.

It seemed that everyone was here except for Paisley and the man who had recruited her to the villains in the first place. As Lara wasn't much of a talker she just sat and ate her breakfast, waiting for the last two to come to the meeting, while continuing to read her collection of Edgar A. Poe's stories. That was the thing about the villains is, especially in the morning, they were a quiet bunch. Lara was certain that the other's had greeted everyone as they came in, or something to that effect, but since Lara came later the greetings had stopped for the time. Everyone just kind of did their own thing while they all waited patiently for the meeting to start.

Patrick Miller

Patrick smiled at everyone as they all filed in and sat down at random chairs in the room.

"Just wanted to alert everyone that the government will be transferring some papers through the city today. Now the broadcast I saw didn't say anything past that which tells me that these papers are important and something that the villains will most likely be going after," Patrick said, taking a bite of his breakfast. He had complete faith that this was definitely something that the villains would be going after; mysterious papers that the government is hiding from the public and transferring through "their" area, it was undoubted in his mind that this would happen today. However, while he was talking, he was also planning on what their move would be in order to counter the villains plan, which they had no clue what that was. He figured it would be best for them to split up, that way they would be able to cover better ground and plus he wanted to keep the new recruits away from the villains' trainers. He had run into them many times and both of them were nasty pieces of work, Patrick also knew that the recruits under his supervision were not ready to go up against them.

"My thought is that we should split up into groups. Now the truck that is taking the papers will most likely be taking this road," Patrick said, setting down his cereal and pointing at a map they had hung behind the bar and to Madison street that's parallel with Central park, "The government will have their own security following the truck, but we should split up into groups to stop the villains from getting close to the truck. Now Chris and I will keep close to the truck as it travels through the city, Scott and Jay you two will keep an eye on this street," he pointed to Park Avenue, the street just right of Madison street, "Daniel and Evie I want you to search through Central Park and best keep it close to edge. If you encounter a villain remember you aren't fighting to kill, just disable them long enough for the government's truck to get through the city. Everybody know the plan then?" Patrick walked back to his cereal and started eating again a smile on his lips, he was sure that this plan was going to work. Since Daniel was the newest in the group, Patrick figured it was best to not put him with one of the others who had a louder personality and both Scott and Jay were fighters.

As Patrick explained the plan, Chris got up from the chair and opened the cabinet, taking out a box of pancake mix, hidden far behind there collection of bread (there was a disagreement between white and wheat). Then took the milk, which only half a gallon remained;she had to remember to buy some more later. Pouring the batter into a large bowl and mixing in an appropriate amount of milk, she began stirring vigorously.

She listened to Patrick explained the current situation. She agreed that the villains would be going after these important government papers, those thieves would steal anything they could get their hands on. She'd seen the villains many times before (though recently she heard they gained a new recruit) and knew they were a force to be reckoned with. Though Chris couldn't help but wonder what important subjects could be on those papers.

Patrick explained the groups. She had remembered seeing the government security travel down that road and she'd often keep a close eye out for anything out of the ordinary whenever said truck should pass. She'd studied that road closely, and knew it well.

She nodded when asked if they knew the plan, though her back was turned so she doubted anyone saw. She poured the batter on the preheated oven, and waited a few minutes before flipping it. Chris prided herself on being an excellent pancake chief. After two pancakes had been flipped, she sat back down at the table, pouring a bit of syrup on her tiny pancake stack.

"I think it would be a good idea that we have a way to contact each other" she suggested in a low and seemingly emotionless voice. "In case something we're to happen to one of us."

The feeling of Scotts rootbeer leaving his hand caused him to look up only to catch Jace already taking a sip of it. He returned her grin with a smile of his before he continued to sip at his soda. Once he finished the soda, Scott stood up from his chair walking over to the trash and tossed it in but on his way back to his seat he quickly stole some of the colorful marshmallows from Jaces bowl of cereal. Once seat he munched on them as Patrik now began to speak. He listened to the plan and when his name was said, Scott looked up and nodded then glanced over to Jay and sent her a wink, a small grin playing at his lips.

The kitchen was suddenly filled with the smell of pancakes and Scott lifted his head up more enough to see the back of Chris. His attention was quickly pulled away from the smell as he reached over and grabbed the box of lucky charms and poured some in his hand only eating the small marshmallows first. "I think it would be a good idea that we have a way to contact each other, In case something we're to happen to one of us." After eating the small colorful sugar shapes, Scott began to eat the cereal itself. He had eaten about two pieces of the cereal before he suggested something. " Walkie Talkies maybe? I got only 2 of them though. "

Daniel shifted uncomfortably in his seat when Jace came over to sit next to him, she made him feel a bit off balance whenever she was around like a tight rope walker feeling a gust of wind blow by, not afraid but a bit unsettled. This made him shift uncomfortably in his seat replying to her words with a half smile that didn't meet his eyes which in turn did not meet hers. Instead he looked at everyone else in the room from the trainers to each of his fellow teammates finally settling on Evelyn, who was sitting in front of him and three chairs to the left. She reminded him of his family that he had left behind and had to constantly remind himself that he had to stay away from them, that was the thing that was keeping him there at the heroes hideout it was the whole reason that he went with them in the first place, it was to make sure that he could get control of himself after discovering his extraordinary abilities he had to make sure to keep the people he loved safe and this meant he could not be allowed to see them until he was one hundred and ten percent in control.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Daniel was not paying attention to what was being said in the meeting there was something about papers and patrolling the park. but most of it was lost on his ears. At the mention of villains Daniel was deep in thought he had never met this particular group there was plenty of files on each of them, he didn't go over them with the utmost detail but he knew names and faces but that was as far and his knowledge went. He leaned over in his seat to grab a banana off a nearby counter pealing back to enjoy the fruit inside in place of a small breakfast, he was a bit nervous going out on such a serious mission, and he didn't like the idea of not having the whole team by his side.

Jace listened to the mission plan with rapid attention, though she did playfully swat at Scott's hand when he stole some of her marshmallows. She couldn't help the curiosity that bubbled through her at the though of mysterious, obviously important, documents being transported by the government before she had to remind herself that she was a good guy now, that meant no 'petty' theft to please her own whims.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the smell of pancakes as chris came to sit down at the table. Then there was talk about communication between the three groups. She defiantly agreed as if you hadn't been connected then often it caused lots of problems in any plans... Actually, thinking about it, she probably still had her old earpiece which she had used to stay connected back then, though she only had two which was a bit of a bust. Her and Coco's. After the girl had left she all by threw the stuff that connected the group as friend into Jays lap before storming out.

She glanced up at the talk of walkie talkies before a grin took over her face. That would work. Her ear pieces were just smaller radios though she would have to check they all ran on the same frequency. "I have a set of radio headpieces. I would just have to check they ran on the same frequency as the walkie talkies.", she put in before finishing up her cereal and returning it to the sink where she proceeded to rinse and stack the dirty dish. Old habits die hard.

Paisley had already been awake for hours. Most of the night, in fact. She just hadn't slept because she found a much better way of resting her mind.

Paisley sat on her bed, but in front of her eyes she saw a forest that stretched for miles. Wind rustled through the green, summery leaves, and sunlight streamed through the canopy above her. Birds chirped and talked high above her, and a deer moved through the brush somewhere to her left.

Paisley's main aim was to block out all sound and view of her room, and to relax. It had worked a little too well, as Genevieve's voice over the intercom was almost dream-like in quality, so much that Paisley almost disregarded it. Then it came to her, little by little, that she was required. And now late.

Paisley blinked several times in succession, coming back to reality. She quickly changed out of her pajamas and washed her face, and brushed her hair a little before running downstairs and sliding into the last empty seat. "Sorry." She muttered. She didn't often apologize, and if she did, it was always under her breath. She choked on the smoke from one of the older recruits, at which she made a face and muttered; "Ugh, that's disgusting."

Paisley grabbed a red apple and bit into it. The crunchy flesh of the fruit ran into her mouth and exploded on her tongue, and Paisley finished it off in a few seconds. She was hungrier than she had originally thought. She sat there, seemingly patiently, and waited, tapping her index finger on the table rather impatiently. She raised a solitary eyebrow at Jack, who was going around tapping a couple of others on the shoulder while he walked past, holding a poptart. She pinched a corner between her fingers and tore off a small piece, before popping into her own mouth with a small smirk. She waited again for the plan to be spilled, and when it was, she was a little disappointed. No mention of her anywhere in the plan. At that, she cleared her throat slightly, still waiting to be told what she was going to do.

Evelyn listened carefully as Patrick explained the plan. She was with Daniel, who was pretty cool. He was shy, though, of using his power, but Evelyn didn't really mind that. She could disable them... Probably. Her eyes darted over to the boy, who looked rather uncomfortable in his seat, before looking down and away, with only a slight smile. He obviously wasn't listening, which amused her for some reason.

Evie looked up as her name was called, and nodded enthusiastically. Daniel was the newest in the group, and Jay and Scott were more suited to up close combat, seeing as they both had destructive abilities and weren't afraid to use them, from what Evie had observed. She quickly drained the last of the coffee and helped herself to a fruit bar, picking at the food with long fingers.

Evelyn then listened to Christ's view - communication would be very helpful to communicate where everyone was, if somebody was in trouble, and who was against who. Evie looked up and smiled at Christ, and agreed with her. She didn't say anything, just made eye contact and smiled at her, hopefully communicating that she agreed. Scott suggested walkie talkies, and Jace the earpiece. "Seems like a good idea." She finally mustered up the courage to say. "I might even have a spare, but I'll have to check. It's probably broken, anyway, last I remember it was." She shrugged a little.

"Come on, Daniel, let's go get ready, yeah?" She suggested quickly, suddenly wanting to get out of the room. She felt paranoid suddenly, and nervous. She'd done enough of these sorts of missions before, but she was always on her own, especially when she was in the military. She felt strange that she now had Daniel with her, but she tried to suppress the feeling of the knots and butterflies, and go up, put the wrapper of the fruit bar in the bin and walked over to the door frame, leaning on it slightly. All she knew is she needed to get out.

James listened closely to the plan, the news was actually quite interesting. Except that the target seemed boring, just some stupid papers? What's so important about papers?
He took another drag on his cigarette and flicked the ash into the glass circular ashtray, giving off a small sigh as he exhaled at the mention of the trainers doing the fun stuff. But there was more, James was going to be paired with that girl who seems to avoid him. But, it would be nice to make Ms. LeBlanc proud, so it would be best to put up with it.

"Yes, Ma'am." James muttered towards Ms. LeBlanc before she continued the briefing. He didn't pay much attention after that, he had to come up with ways to make everyone proud. Maybe an earthquake?

Suddenly, the doors opened and the last member walked in, muttering her apologies before finding a seat. Coughing and spluttering, the woman muttered some more words; "Ugh, that's disgusting.". Well, if she doesn't like it then she better put up with it. Little bitch. James simply replied with a small glare before it changed back to a smirk, he had thought of something quite funny.

Maybe it's best to let the woman he was being paired with to lead on. He can't waste brain power on leadng.

Chris had begun to zone out when a silence took over the room. She noticed Evie had smiled at her, in which she returned, though her's was small, barely noticeable by anyone else at the table, but she knew Evie would know.

She was brought back into reality by Scott, who had suggested walkie taklies, which would work fine for communication, as would the ear pieces that Jace suggested a few minutes later. She ate the last bit of her pancake, setting her fork down and wiping her mouth with a napkin before speaking again. "That should work, each group should have either a walkie talkie or earpiece."

She stood from the table, setting her plate into sink and nodding at Jace, as a way to say 'thank you for washing the dishes.' Then she took her seat at the table once more, placing her hands in front of her on the table, waiting to for further instructions, or to be dismissed so she could start preparing for the mission.

Eiko smiled at Jack as he tapped her on the shoulder, then leaned back in the seat, crossing her arms over her chest in a lazy way as she crossed her leg over her knee. She listened as Genevieve explained matter at hand, perking up at the mention of government papers. No doubt that they were important, anything being kept from public eye was bond to be important, though she honestly didn't care about the importance of the papers, so long as something got stolen. The fact that those government idiots would be losing their heads in confusion was satisfactory enough for her.

Genevieve explained the groups, pairing her up with the newbie, James. She grinned, adjusting her gaze to the man in question, who sat quietly smoking a cigarette. Eiko giggled softly to herself as Genevieve told her to 'show James a good time.'

'Oh trust me, I will' she thought to herself. Her hazel eyes brightly lit up with deviousness, a mischievous smirk plastered over her face as she fought the urge to chuckle once more. Since James was new, he didn't know about her mischievous nature. Oh, she was going to have fun with this. Had you been paying attention, you'd see the evil twinkle in her eye. She was pondering something in that sly little mind of hers.

"This Is going to be fun"

Lara McIntosh

Lara swatted at Jack's arm as he passed after he tapped her on the shoulder. This wasn't some new trick that fooled her, he would do this sort of thing constantly and it became Lara's thing to hit him afterwards. She set her book down as he sat down knowing that the meeting would probably be starting soon. She listened to the plan, staring at the cover of her book the entire time Genevieve was talking, but she was indeed listening. It seemed that she would be paired up with Eris and the two of them would be placed in Central park, though Lara had a feeling that her skills would be used for something different for this mission.

After the meeting, everyone got up to leave. Eris seemed to pick up something in the new guy, Jame's, head because she went over and seemed to be trying to scare him. Lara just sort of rolled her eyes at this. Then Eris, however, looked to Lara and said, "I'll be in the living area at 3 ready to brainstorm a plan." With that she left. Lara sighed and gave a rather sarcastic salute in Eris's direction. It wasn't that the two didn't get along well enough, but they only got along to a certain point. They were colleagues at best and Lara had found that Eris liked to be in charge just as much as her. However with a mission hanging over her head, Lara knew she would have to get along with Eris enough so that they could work together.

With a little bit of time to kill before heading to the living room and talking with Eris, Lara finished her breakfast and looked towards Jack, the closest person she has had to a father figure in years and the man who had took her away from that broken house at the end of the broken road. "How was last night?" she asked, taking a bite of her bagel. Though she wasn't entirely sure he actually did anything last night, it was just a normal question that she asked him, to get a conversation going.

Patrick Miller

Patrick smiled and set his empty bowl on the counter with a rather large clatter. "Well then, why don't you guys go get those devices and then we can figure out how to get them on the same frequency. We should hurry, I think it would be best to get to our spots before the villains head out. This way it'll be easier for us to find them and stop them before they get too close. Chop, chop!" Patrick said. He got up and put his dishes in the sink, thinking that after the mission he could clean them.

Patrick, however, turned to Chris as the others began to leave the room and in a low, hushed voice asked, "Do you think they'll be ready for this? I know Jay and Scott are fighters, but Daniel. Are we pushing him a bit too much?" He asked. Normally Patrick wouldn't be second guessing his own decisions and plans like this, but since Daniel was particularly new he just didn't want to accidentally push him too far and get the boy hurt on his account. It was something that would always be on his mind, not second guessing his plans, but rather that one of the recruits that were supposed to be under his protection would get hurt or worse. He always tried his best to keep everyone safe, with plans of keeping them at least in pairs and having a way to get out of trouble if something were to happen, but it was always a constant thought of, 'Will that be enough?'

"Am I just being stupid?" Patrick then laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. His whole face crinkling into one very amused look. Though to others it might seem that this face belonged to someone who was laughing so hard they were crying, in all honesty this was just Patrick's normal face when he laughed; his eyes would crinkle up and squint, his smile would spread widely on his cheeks so that wrinkles would surround his whole face, and of course his head would bow and bob up and down a little.

Eiko had zoned out so much, she hadn't noticed everyone starting to leave the room. She was brought back into reality by the room starting to shake. To most people, they'd be ducking under tables covering their heads in an earthquake, but Eiko just started to laugh, as the shaking of the room was fun to her. Once the vibration stopped, she saw how everyone was leaving. Not wanting to be left in the dust, she jumped from her chair and was about to bolt out of the room, but not before running Jack.

"Eiko, use your best judgement." he said to her.

She smiled, knowing he didn't want anything to interfere with the mission. She had no intention of putting them risk, and was usually very careful not to. She may not act like it, but she was serious about things like this. "Don't I always?" She laughed and nudged his shoulder playfully before happily running back up to her bedroom to prepare.

She stopped at the doorway, hazel eyes looking around the room till she spotted one of her many jackets laying on the side of the black and purple couch in the corner. She grabbed it randomly and put it on. Then running over to her nightstand to get her IPod. Placing her earbuds securely in her ears, then scrolling though her playlist, she selected something by Three Days Grace, and put the device in her pocket.

Now ready (to her standards anyway) she ran out of her room. Eiko always seemed to be running somewhere, even though she's often told to slow down. She passed a few people in the hallway, though if they said anything to her she couldn't hear over her music.

After sliding down the banister (her favourite part of living in a two story house), she sat in the chair in the kitchen, waiting for the others to prepare while she snooped around looking for something sweet to eat.

Chris turned her attention to Patrick as he asked her a question. "Do you think they'll be ready for this? I know Jay and Scott are fighters, but Daniel. Are we pushing him a bit too much?" She opened her mouth answer, but he continued before she could. "Am I just being stupid?" . He laughed, his normal laugh yet it was so energetic and full of life. It was enough to brighten up any room.

Before Chris could react, she had giggled just the slightest. She couldn't help herself, his laugh was just too infectious.

"Don't worry" she reassured, in a slightly happier tone than she usually spoke, and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Have faith in him, we did train him for specific situations like this. I'm confident we did well, and you should too."

She let go of his shoulder and walked passed him, though stopping a few feet away from him, turning her head back to look over her shoulder. "And as for your second question," she said, "Your concerned about your student, as a true leader should." And with that, she returned to her bedroom, grabbing the wooden katana by her bedside and stepped out again, waiting for the others to finish preparing.

Daniel stood up to follow Evelyn out of the room and when he got to the doorway he stopped hearing his name, "...but Daniel. Are we pushing him a bit too much?" was all he heard before he left. He frowned, not because his trainer was doubting him but that he was having those same thoughts, but he didn't want to be weak and fragile like he used to be. This wasn't high school and there weren't any bullies here, and then Daniel came to a realization, that there were bullies here only they were much bigger with superhuman abilities like his own. His heart stopped for a moment then another, it only started again when he was in his own room his back pressed against the door ears ringing and face pail as the ghost of Christmas past.

He slunk down to the floor where comic books were strewn across it like leaves in autumn. he sat on his floor for a long while replacing his converse with sneakers but overall not doing much but thinking all the while. He was beginning to get nervous and nerves led to fear which was the one thing that made him lose control. His left arm was beginning to shake but he quickly grabbed it with the other forcing himself to breathe and calm down telling himself that he was ready for this he had all the training that he needed and damn it if he wasn't going to do a good job. He decided on treating this like any old mission and not get so worked up about it, Daniel stood up letting out a deep sigh before walking out the door. Now mentally prepared for the mission he was ready to go.

Paisley grinned and reached up to hug Eris as she kissed her cheek. She was close to Eris, for they had similar powers and even though that was, Eris was there for her in the big-sister sort of way. She scowled at the newcomer, and as Eris went over to him the floor began to vibrate, and Paisley began to snicker slightly. Was it in excitement or fear that he made everything tremble?

Paisley sat there, bored, as everyone left, without a mention of her. Looked like she was on house arrest... For what reason this time? Paisley couldn't put a finger on it. She cracked her knuckles and rocked back in her chair, trying to seem not bothered. Then Jack spoke. Although she didn't find his jokes all that funny, he was a good guy, and understood what she wanted overall. She smiled at him, and agreed hastily. She wanted to be involved, even if it meant West Side with the trainers. Her eyes darted away from eye contact as she smirked to herself. She found it amusing that they thought she was 'too young', even though she could handle herself.

"Yeah, sure. Does it mean I'm stuck with you losers though?" She asked with a joking smile on her face. She was learning that the best way to get in with Jack was to laugh and joke, and Paisley was in a very jokey and attitude-y mood. She pulled a piece of chewing gum from her pocket, and put it in her mouth, before snapping a bubble. She knew that she would have to get herself into the very childish 'state of mind' she assumed when she went out, though. She only really got moody and joked around with Jack, even though she doesn't find most of his jokes very funny.

With that, she got up and snapped the gum again, before walking out. "I'll see what I can do!" Was yelled down the hall at Jack as she wandered upstairs to her room to get ready. She closed the door (A little too hard - she was still in a bit of a bad mood) and searched around for supportive yet comfortable shoes. She found her pair of white converse, and paired with white leggings and a floaty white top, Paisley deemed herself ready for going out. She looked her part - or at least how she liked to look while using her powers - smiled to herself and walked out of the room, snapping the gum as she went.

Evelyn was grateful when Daniel walked out with her. She breathed a sigh of relief, and uttered a quick; "Thank you." to him before moving on. She walked out with him, but heard the words that the trainer's spoke. She bit her lip and looked over towards Daniel, wondering if she should offer him comfort or not.

Too soon, though, did they arrive at his room, and Evie lingered there before she left again, silently. She had seen his arm trembling before she left, and she hoped he was okay, before selfishly hoping he didn't lose control, which she then felt immediately bad about. She shook her head and slipped a pen knife into her pocket - for safety purposes only. She didn't plan on using it at all, her powers were much better at immobilising villains than her pen knife would ever be. She sat there, on her bed, and just waited for everyone else to get ready. She stared intently at the lamp that stood on the bedside table, and continued staring with a calm look on her face, until it rose up into the air as if it was being pulled there by gravity. She smiled, and held it there, before carefully switching the gravitational ties until it landed safely on the table once again.

She got up, and decided she'd go check on Daniel. She wanted to make sure he was okay, it must have been a little upsetting to hear what he did earlier. She walked down the hall and was about to knock, before her hand stopped just millimetres from the door. Her hand held there for a second, before she dropped it down to her side with a sigh. No, she... she couldn't. Silently, and with regret in her heart, she walked down to meet the others without a word.
