Cody was near the point of drooling when he saw the half-prepared plates of food. The pancakes looked heavenly, and bacon was one of Cody's favorite foods. "That looks delicious," he said with a smile. He walked around the counter into the kitchen, picking up a spatula. He flipped the scrambling eggs around while she worked on the bacon, anxious to help her get this meal done faster. "Turtle. That's a cute name," he admitted. A cute name for a cute girl, he thought. "I'm Cody. I don't think we've met before," he noted, though it was obvious.
While he waited for an answer, he decided he couldn't help himself anymore. He went on to say, "I'm starving. I hope you don't mind if I get a head start on everyone." With that, he picked up a plate and fork. Leaning against the counter and practically diving into his food, he watched her continue to cook while she answered.
Still though, he made a mental note to get him to meet his mom at some point; she had helped him so much in the fallout of him coming out to his family.
He honestly had no idea what else to say. He wasn't used to dealing with parents, just with random strangers who decide to invade his privacy and speak for him. Kind of ironic, really. He looked at Gale for a long time, then sighed. "What disease is he talking about...if you don't mind me asking..?"
He was pretty sure his face was going to be permanently tinted pink by now; it was the first time he had ever really spoken about it. His mother had been there, after all, and his sister could just ask her if she had any questions.
He looked around the place while enjoying his meal, and found that the building was very nice. There was a lot he had missed in his bee-line for the food. Fuzzy rugs made of fur, a fireplace with coals still hot from a fire that had burned the night before, leather couches... He already couldn't wait to walk in and crash on the couch after a long day of hardcore snowboarding. He wondered how many here would like snowboarding. Then he wondered, "How many people are here? It's awfully quiet for a senior get-away."
This reminded Sonny of other people who have said the exact same thing to him. Whatever religious friends he had made quickly vanished when they found out the 'way he swings'. And he was sick of hearing the comments about going to hell and being saved. This is why he didn't pay much attention to religion anymore, let alone the people who followed it. He then looked at Gale again, and gently laid his hand on his shoulder. "As you told me, just ignore it. You can't change people."
Now that his mind was on the subject, he really hoped his father wouldn't turn to religion; the last thing he needed was the next time his father decided on a pilgrimage up here was an attempted exorcism.
"Your turn to ask me something," he said softly.
Who asks for a kiss while playing 20 questions.
(This shall be my last post for the night! Talk to you tomorrow, everyone!)
Sonny looked a bit pensive for a few moments, but while a bit curious, Gale didn't really react, focusing instead on coming up with another question. Thankfully, he seemed to be getting better at it. "Siblings?"
((Yeah, I'm gonna head to bed too~))
But Sonny never grew out of the 'clutz' stage. In fact, it got worse over the years, from dropping his laptop down the stairs to dropping his iPhone in the toilet God knows how many times. He was on his 7th one, after all. Snapping out of his memories, he then looked at Gale, and smirked. "What is the stupidest thing you have ever done? If stupider is even a word...yeah, whatever, its a word." he waved himself off, stopping his babbling.
"Longest you've spent doing one thing?" he asked, recalling the several time while younger he had decided he liked something, be it a book or an animal, and focused on it with a one-minded determination.
Cody nodded as Turtle listed off names, happy to hear that he recognized a few of them. He ate in silence, half of his food nearly gone already, when she asked how the food was. "Oh," he piped up, excited, "absolutely fantastic. Best breakfast I've eaten in a long time." He winked and gave a smile. Another girl entered the room, giving a quiet sentence he assumed to be "good morning". Jay looked tired, but Cody didn't say anything about it. He was sure he still looked as though he'd just woken up. The food was taking away his grogginess, though. He opened his arms wide and took Jay in for a hug, then released her. He picked up his food and began to finish it off. "Wassup, Jay? It's been a while! Do you know Turtle?"
"Is it bad I'm still hungry?" She asked herself, aloud.
Cody collected his luggage and began walking down the hallway. He found the last door cracked and barged in, assuming if it was open it must be free. He found two men sitting on the beds, and he immediately felt like he had interrupted something. "Err, I guess the room next door is mine then," he laughed softly. "Me and the girls are eating in the kitchen if you two are hungry," he pointed a thumb back in the direction of the kitchen, then entered the room next door. It had two beds in it as well, but it seemed like Cody was the only one who would be in the room. He tossed his luggage onto the floor near the left bed, fixed his hair in the mirror so that his bright red bangs wouldn't be so mixed in with the blond, and then returned to the kitchen. He looked in the fridge and smiled when he found what he was looking for: "Anyone want some OJ?" He offered.
(Sorry, I'm using OOC a lot lol. Just so everyone knows, I'm babysitting tonight and have to leave in about an hour... It'll be until around 9 or so and then I'll be back and will check in again. :))
"Does a relationship count...? My longest time in one was for 7 months..." he said, then swallowed down a feeling of nostalgia and brief sadness. Emily had been his first and only girlfriend, a girl who he thought would be in his life forever. He recalled the times that they would go down to the library together and run through the bookshelves, making noises and knocking Dictionaries over, then sneaking off to make out somewhere where no one could find them.
He would never forget the day she left him. The way her chestnut-colored hair had been braided back past her shoulders, the blue sundress she wore, her big, hazel eyes unforgiving and quite frankly, bored. The silver locket which he had given her was still hugging her neck, slightly raised on her fragile collar bones. 4 simple words, 'I'm sorry, we're done," were enough to make his whole life spiral under control. The 4 words were his downfall. And thats when the rumors started.
"Yeah...it shouldn't count for shit. Anyways, my turn to ask you. What do you look for in a relationship."
