These poor, unfortunate souls were once a part of this great world, but have been abandoned. Why don't you consider viewing their profiles and making a decision on whether or not you can roleplay them accurately?
A half-shrug was his response; it hadn't been what he had been thinking of, per se, but now that he considered it it made sense. Noticing something off in Sonny's expression though, he pushed himself back into a more upright position to lean over and gently bump his shoulder against the other boy's. Hopefully he hadn't asked the wrong thing.
His head tilted slightly again as he thought over the next question. Never having had much of a chance to date- this was really the first time he had socialized since moving to Alaska- he hadn't ever truly mulled it over. "Honesty, trust, understanding, friendship," he offered after a few moments with a slight nod.
He had actually opened his mouth to speak again when Jay's voice sounded, startling him into a small jump again, before he blushed slightly. Sonny must be thinking he was so twitchy.
He took a breath, not quite willing to get up before Sonny did, and commented quietly "Apparently not eating isn't an option," with a faint sense of amusement.
He heard Jay's voice calling them out for breakfast, so he slowly got up and walked over to the mirror quickly to check his hair again, then looked at Gale. "I guess we can continue this after breakfast," he said, then walked out of their room and to the kitchen, greeting Jay and the boy who walked into their room. Opening the fridge, he found just what he needed at the moment, Java Monster. Getting one and popping it open, he sat at the kitchen table, and took a sip, already feeling better.
The window in the kitchen revealed his expectations, the snow was still falling from the somber, gray sky, high as ever. Pretty soon, someone was going to have to get out there and clear a path just to allow people to walk through the front door. It certainly couldn't be him, he would make an even bigger mess than there was to begin with. In a way, he thanked the weather for being so bad. This way he can talk to Gale in the comfort of their warm room.
Swallowing the last bite, he set the bowl aside to finish his milk, before rising to take both over to the sink, rinsing them out of habit. That done, he headed back towards the room, pausing briefly in case Sonny wanted to walk with him. He had forgotten to put in his earring before, and he made a mental note to do so once they got back.
"Ask me something else!" he said casually, gnawing on the cap of his empty can.
"Hm," his lower lip was drawn into his mouth again to be gnawed on while he thought "Any pets?"
"I had a dog for about 2 days. My dad absolutely hated it, so he took it to the shelter. Not that I cared, that little beast chewed up everything in sight." He then thought carefully about his question for Gale. "If you were any alcoholic beverage, which one would you be?"
"Favorite time of day?"
"Definetely night..." he leaned in so that he was inches away from Gale's cheek and continued, "thats when the freaks come out."
"Depends on your definition of freaks," he replied softly, gaze seeking out to hold Sonny's for a few moments before shyly dropping.
"I know I'm a freak..I'm probably making you feel completely weird right about now," he said, gesturing to himself sitting on Gale's bed. The dark clouds outside made everything in the room dim, and it didn't help that none of the lights were turned on. But Sonny could still make out Gale's face perfectly clear, even in the horrible lighting. "Sorry if I am, for the win.."
He wasn't sorry.
He took another breath, drawing up his courage before replying "You're the first person I've really had a conversation with in...a long time, besides my mom and sister," he admitted, feeling his face heat up a bit more. He really wasn't used to this.
Why did he just say that?! Why do it, do you want to creep him out even more, he thought to himself, then told the voice to shut up. He was saying this because it was true. He really did want to be here for Gale, no doubt about it. And if that meant making Gale feel weird or awkward, so be it. He scooted himself farther on Gale's bed, and leaned against the wall, bringing his knees to his chest.
He flopped backwards onto the bed, peering up at Sonny. The position he had fallen into was actually rather comfortable, even if his shirt had bunched slightly around his neck, pressing down just enough to get his subconscious attention. He had a feeling about where his roommate was going but a mixture of anxiety and his general quiet nature kept his mouth shut. Damn all the 'what if's flowing through his head, most planted by the callous parting words of his father.
"Do you think I spend too much time on my hair?" he scrunched his face as he asked the question, trying to bundle up all the minutes that he spent washing, straightening, styling, and reapeating the same processes on his hair all in one week. It was impossible to settle on even an estimate of how much time he put into his looks. But then again, he just wouldn't look right with short hair. As he was thinking all of this, he realized his hand was back up in his jet-black strands. "Maybe I should put some more blonde in it. Hmm."
Way to sound like a man, Sonny, he thought to himself.
Watching him on the other hand...but that sounded really creepy. Gale fought the urge to roll over and bury his heated face in the blankets.
His gaze tracked Sonny's hand to his hair, remaining there as he tried to picture it with more blond as his head tilted back slightly against the bed to afford him a better view.
Hell, he still didn't know what he wanted to do with his life in college, let alone 2 days from now. Dropping the topic from his mind seeing as it always made him nauseated just thinking about more school after High School, he looked at Gale, and a smile rose on his lips. "I shall do the blonde thing, man. Emily always said it made me look like a poser, but its whatever."
DAMN! Why did he have to mention her?! That blasted bitch who always managed to creep back into his memory, make a mockery of everything. He pushed the name in the back of his mind again, wishing that he could take it back.
What to say, rhetoric wasn't really his forte. Thinking for a few moments, he decided on "You are you, blond or not." He didn't seem to happy about this Emily girl, so he ignored it, that said, he rolled over onto his stomach to push himself up, tangling his legs in the rumpled blankets as he moved. Letting out a huff of breath at the predicament he almost always managed to get himself into, he reached back to tug at the blankets wrapping around his legs. One tug too many though, and his precarious balance was tipped, and he toppled forward. Eyes closing instinctively, he expected to slam into the wall, a flare of confusion sparking through him as his fall was much shorter and softer than he'd expected. Feeling his blush return full-force, he peered up at Sonny, whom he had fallen against, and got out a "Sorry,"
And his legs were still tangled.
