Introduction
Well, then. Sorry for that length of Series, but I wanted to add some variation, so.. I hope you don't mind :D I like to make things attractive, and neat. But anyway, it's going to go like this - when all of the places are assigned, we will start on the same island, and no one will have met eachother, apart from, of course, the twins. Each and every one of them recieve a letter eventually, stating that they have been invited to come and train in the Stallchester school for magic, over in Series Twelve. Yes, they pack up, go, and arrive at Stallchester. After spending not that long there, and not being particularily experienced yet, the students of Stallchester are informed that a bit of a rivalry is being brought up between the Great Mages, and the students of Stallchester have been sent out to assist in the protection of several Series. The group of people from Series Five disagree, and decide to run away, to do what they wish. And what they will do then? That's up to you. So then, let's go!
Bear in mind that everyone will either be a half bred, or a human.. PLEASE have read at least the Series description for Five, to give you an outlay, and what the half breds can do, and how they differ..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are twelve of the Related Worlds. Each of the twelve is actually a set, or "series", of nine worlds, all different, but all the same in their geography, and the language they have come to speak.
It is the history that makes each world in a series different, because there are always times when there is a battle or a catastrophe that can go one of two ways. In example, Napoleon could have won the Battle of Waterloo, or he could have lost it. In one world, the battle was lost, while in the other, it was won, resulting in an entirely different history, and chain of events shaping the world.
Series One
A bleak, flat but very magical Series, thought by some people to be the very first set of worlds that came into being after The Great Split. It was the Great Mages, who rule these worlds, who first discovered the other Series, and numbered. Their worlds are governed strictly, and many of the Mages are hated for their ruthlessness, and the way they rule their particular patches. The Mages are very powerful and very arrogant, and look down on all the other worlds as being pathetic newcomers. They tend to stick to their own area, and forbid most people from leaving their own world. The single magical feature in all of the nine of Series one worlds is the enchantment of the ring trains, which hurtle around their "tracks" 100 feet in the air.
Series Two
Here the flatness of the worlds is more filled with small hills with little sea, so that the land is divided by a multitude of rivers crossed by high, similar looking bridges cast over the lands by each of the individual monarchies running each world. In the bare land, there are various wild animals roaming, native to the Series. Some agressive, some domesticated, they have grown used to the fairly flat area of the Series, and some have adapted to live in water and land, such as the land eels whom tend to live in the rivers, but are fairly intelligent, and can grow aggressive.
Series Three
This Series is fairly flat again, and consists almost entirely of marshland. The weather is fairly warm all around, and the nine worlds of the Series all have large companies, exporting various goods to the other Series by Ne'quidem, a large vessel that holds the ability to sail between the worlds, powered by an unknown magic that no one has been able to track, though it is rumoured that the Great Mages are the ones keeping the boats "afloat". The people of this Series have erected their villages on stilts, having boardwalk type walkways between the places, and none other ways of transports are used apart from foot. the building are always circular, and never too large. These lands are governed by no one, but the communities are very tight nit.
Series Four
In these worlds the marshes evaporated, leaving vast deserts, and many salty seas. The tribes here are always at war with eachother for possession of the little amount of oases there are. Each world has 3 main communities, all erected on a single oasis. Most of the men there are trained into soldiers, eventually sent out to fight in the battles. There is one world different from the rest, this one being the eighth world. it holds many more oases, and there is one large settlement placed out around the more inhabitable area. This place tends to be a major hotspot, attracting many different tourists for it's exotic foods and exquisite materials, said to be handwoven from the sands.
Series Five - Where this RP is set
A strikingly beautiful set of worlds that are all a mass of islands surrounded by clear, calm blue waters. The humans here share these worlds with tribes of sea people. They work together in their communities, producing a clear relationship, some even becoming couples, having thriving lives, with homes and children. The islands are not too much bigger than your average farm, and some are uninhabited, while the largest ones are bubbling with people, homes and shops. [b]These sea people have the ability to breathe underwater, and, with some willpower, form a tail in water. Some can cultivate their power to be able to control water, using it to their advantage. They are always more comfortable in water, usually spending as much time as possible in it. A half bred/full bred can be determined because they will have a tattoo of a trident on their left shoulderblade, about as big as a playing card.The worlds of Series Five are governed by the Lord of the Sea, Marinus. he rarely comes out of the waters, but when he steps on land, he changes from his glorious self into your average 35 year old man, though he is certainly quite a bit older than that. Sometimes he will emerge to see his lands, or to speak to some people, if needs must. All of the inhabitants of Series Five are skilled when it comes to water, being renowned fishermen and athletic swimmers throughout all the series.
Series Six
A mysterious set of world, largely unexplored because of the overall tough landscape, and partly out of fear. There are thought to be volcanoes which fuel the magics of some of the tribes that have made their home there, but no proof has been given, and it is sometimes hard to track down the people of these tribes as they are largely secretive, not travelling away from their world much, and not having much contact with other Series. This sometimes makes people think that they are like wildmen, but their magic level is much equal to that of Series One, and they are fairly well developed in the scientific front, they just tend to keep low, having moving settlements around each of the nine worlds.
Series Seven
The main feature of this set of worlds it that it has entirely left out the British Isles. The European Landmass stretches from China to the Atlantic without a break, but with many more mountains than most of the other worlds have. A lot of the settlements on these wrolds are set in the mountains, littering the lands with small villages. The people who live there are typically more hard-wearing than any other world's humans, having bred through, and adapted to their slightly more difficult climate, and way of living. They are typically very welcoming and friendly, and tend to go visiting other worlds quite a lot via the Ne'quidem system. Ne'quidems are also created there, chipped away to artistic perfection in large "garages" designed to hold them inside. The Ne'quidems are then transported across the terrain to the more major towns, then to be shipped off to where they are needed. This little "business" keeps the people of the Seventh Series fairly well-off, as most families participate in one way or other. This has brought true equality across the people, and everyone is at the same level, no matter what they own.
Series Eight
The series where the stereotypical "Mythical Creatures" are said to live. Of course, many have been glimpsed at times, photographed, written about.. And they have become quite an important part in life for the people of Series Eight. Capturing the creatures has become a bit of a sport, and there are also things such as "Gryphon Riding", occuring once a year in the Series Competition. Sometimes riots may be caused, as of course there are many people who believe this is maltreatment of the animals, and there should be a stop put to it, but no one has even looked at it yet, infuriating the more passionate of supporters. A fairly recent happening is that troops of these supporters have been venturing out of towns and cities, camping out in the wilderness. Before they left, they swore they would return with proof that you can bond with these animals, not hurt them for entertainment because they are apparently too dangerous. This caused a little rivalry in the worlds, and it didn't help too much that the people there are naturally not too friendly, and it is now very rare in this series that you will find a town which isn't split in half over the leaving of the supporters. the main difference between the worlds here is that some worlds are fuller of people the others, but the reason is unknown.
Series Nine
This is a tropical series, almost entirely covered by jungle and rainforest. The villagers reside in the trees, on large platforms so as to keep off the ground, as there are many savage animals, and poisonous insects lurking underneath. The people are arranged into tribes, having different markings for each one. They are highly religious, and every tribe will have a designated chief, who will conduct services in order to please their goddess, Auradatia, the Goddess who apparently blessed the people with these jungles, and the various animals, many unrecorded. It is commonplace for aspiring explorers to come to the jungles of Series Nine, searching for new species to name, or to research the culture of the tribes, but an insane amount of protective clothing is required to protect them against the wrath of the forests, putting many off.
Series Ten
This is another fairly hot Series, where lands and mountains are arranged in such a way we would not recognise. The worlds here are fairly mixed, as some are full of heavy industry, while others seem fairly primitive. These worlds all know about one another, and trade between worlds, despite their differences since they have learnt to work together to thrive better, and develop faster using the knowledge of the two types of worlds. There are a couple of strange traditions that these people hold, from piercings to birth rituals, making them seem fairly superstitious.
Series Eleven
This Series is home to bands of Forest Elves, all governed by a great man called Dright. His signature weapon is a simple iron rod, passed down through thousands of generations through his family. The Elves are fairly protective of their lands, and don't trust outsiders very often. They ahve tight nit communities, and rarely share their talents with other worlds, although secret trading is not unheard of. The lands are covered in grass and meadows, the Elves residing in these meadows, moving about roughly every six months after they have exhausted the resources of that area. They care for their land greatly, and are heard to break out in a blind rage if a tree is cut down before their eyes, albeit the fact that they know it is happening all the time.
Series Twelve
Series Twelve consists of pure British. There are many main towns and cities, consisting of Village Shops, Churches, And, of course, houses. The way of living there is relatively old fashioned, but the people know fully well about the wonders of Moder technology, but they choose to live a "Pure" Lifestyle, saying they wish to carry on traditions that have been coming on for many, many tens of years. A major difference between some of the worlds in Twelve is that some have lots of magic, but little science, and some have a lot of science, but little magic. Then there are some of the smaller worlds which are fairly badly organized, so it is very difficult to tell quite how much magic they have. All the worlds have renowned magic schools, making the series fairly popular for adolescents of all ages wishing to learn the wonders of enchantment and casting.
But they were silenced as an electrical hum drowned them out, a small blue ball of electrical energy appearing out of nowhere. The hum grew louder and louder, continuing to drown out the screeches of disapproval. The ball then suddenly expanded, scortching anything that was in the way. The ground was blackened, trees dissolved into nothingness. As the ball stayed up, humans walked out. Ten of them. They made haste as soon as they passed out of the blue confines to cock back their guns, covering all sides of the ball, four large German Shepards posted at the corners, growling. An eleventh man stepped out, then began to shout orders as the ball disappeared.
"Bedecken Sie die Flanken!" The man looked around, his blue eyes scanning the surroundings with a look of mixed amazement and caution. "Wir wissen nicht, dass was heraus dort ist, seien Sie zu allem bereit, aber feuern Sie NICHT ab, es sei denn ich es bestelle!" The man then pulled out a rifle, loading a feathered dart. His mission was not to kill; it was to collect. "Vorwort!"
OOC Notes
Eloise whirled her head left and right, though she didn't expect there to be very much traffic in the morning. She crossed, marching briskly, to the other side, eventually reaching the opposite pavement. She slowed once again, now turning left towards one of the coasts of the island. She took in her surroundings, looking at all the pale-colored buildings, and the tall palm trees circling the town, signaling the border between nature and human creation. She had arranged to meet with one of the fishermen from this part of the island for some lessons. She had always been put into the fishing lifestyle, and she had been in a rather elated mood yesterday, as she had just discovered she was able to shift some liquid from one place to another, something she had been trying to do for years, never succeeding. But apparently that kind of pattern ran throughout her family, always being fairly late comers to the talents of the Half Bred.
She eventually reached the border, and stepped through a gap in the line of trees, her sneakers sinking slightly into the soft, heated sand of South Beach. She carried on walking, until she was nearer to the middle of the beach, before turning, and walking along the length. Old Man Fredrickson would inevitably be sat in his hut, fixing up his fishing rod or inventing some new wacky thing to attach to the things. Sometimes you would see him travelling along the beach, from his home in the center of the town down to his cabin in the dunes. He wasn't strange, obsessed, or anything. In fact, he was quite the opposite, and Eloise had grown to like him very much, having known him for a long time, and spent a lot of time with him through her life. She had a lot of respect for him, and at times would come to him for consolation. Her grandparents resided on another of the worlds in this Series, and they would come over to visit once or twice a year, in which time they would be constantly setting out rules for Eloise, telling her how to go through with her life, what to do for jobs, and whatever else they could try to control about her life. And quite frankly, she hated it. Now, she would usually go out, and spend the whole day away when they came, sometimes going out onto the beach, painting, helping out in various places, and return late in the evening, usually only receiving at most 10 minutes of lectures from them. It all worked perfectly, in her opinion and it gave her a lot of time to dedicate herself to what she liked doing most. Not that she didn't have a good relationship with her parents, she just liked to be outdoors, exploring, training, and whatever else she could muster up the energy for. her father would usually be working, while her mother either stayed at home doing housework, or she would be bustling about the market, selling items of trivial worth, or helping others set up their stalls, giving advice out by the handful.
After a while of strolling along the sand, the wind whistling gently through her hair, the sun beating down upon the land, and the water washing against the shore, Eloise reached the bumpiest bit of the beach, dotted with large dunes, and with various dips and flat areas imbetween. She walked the path she had memorized perfectly, slipping and sliding down the side of a dune, until she reached a fairly well centered area in the dunes, where a medium-sized shack resided, with many windows, and various decorations along the wooden walls, overall presenting a rather homely residence. She leaped down the last bit of sand, and walked up to the door, letting out a little knock on the door to the hut.
OOC Notes
Her Name was Neni Niwa, she was a 14 and a half year old girl, with short silky black hair and large blue eyes. She blinked and looked back at the cave almost speaking but she closed her mouth without a word. She wondered vaguely where he had gotten off to, Her brother Eien Niwa, was her twin and in all her likeness. They had always been together, were always together and would forever be together. Just like they were named to be.
Series five hadn't prevented that no one would. She glanced towards the cave again, moving her arms as the water sloshed around in the pail. She could hear footsteps. She closed her eyes listening closely wondering where they were coming from, she smiled for a second turning to the cave. To greet the newcomer.
OOC Notes
He hadn't meant to be in the cave so long, he had just stopped by to explore leaving his sister safely outside promising to be back within a few minutes....but time had passed and it become more than a few minutes, But something about this cave made him want to explore he hadn't meant to leave her behind this long, usually she wouldn't be out of his sight for a second. Series five was a dangerous horrible place.
He hated it, it wasn't right for his sister, it beauty was a lie, He wanted to go somewhere where just the two of them would live.Someplace outside of series five....that's why he explored, of course the idea of them living in this cave was monstrous...for one thing they'd still be in Series five. He sighed finding nothing and turned back. And automatically had no idea where he was, the twists and turns in the winding cave he had taken without noticing now was a labyrinth how ever was he going to get back to his sister.
OOC Notes
But it was a little more complicated then that, he was a master fisherman, and could catch the best of fish in no time, but that's not what he stayed out all day for....his true occupation, fishing for treasures
Treasures that littered the oceans, were buried deep in the sea of series five. His home. He didn't particularly love or hate the place, really it was more he tolerated it. there was one thing he couldn't stand Humans.....
He was a half bred one of many sea people who had the ability to breathe underwater. Born in Series five. He believed his race superior to any other, to him
"If you're not me ...then you don't belong"
But he blended with the humans occasionally keeping his tattoo of a trident on his left shoulder blade, hidden. Today he was treasure searching when he hared a noise the sloshing of water, his senses were very in tune when it came to water, he rose from his search and left the water miraculously dry and followed the sound.
A girl with black hair stood by a cave with a pail of his precious water, he wondered who she was one of him ....or a human....he approached her quietly from behind...
"Sie dort! Erklären Sie mir, was ist dieser Platz? Ist er für dreizehn Reisende freundlich, oder erwartet ein Kampf uns hier?" As they approached, he saw her look of confusion, at which he sighed. He then proceeded to try different languages to speak to her. "Parlate italiano? Parlez-vous français? Shuo bu shuo Zhongwen? ¿Usted habla español? Do you speak English?"
OOC Notes
"Parlate italiano? Parlez-vous français? Shuo bu shuo Zhongwen? ¿Usted habla español? Do you speak English?"
She frowned, then slowly replied
"I... Speak English? Not German. Or whatever else that could've been."
She frowned, giving a little shrug. Hopefully his English would be fluent, otherwise there would be a little difficulty.. Reasoning with these guys. maybe they were just.. Some very protective tourists? She sighed, then spoke again
"Have I done something wrong? Do you.. Need directions? Because you can always ask me."
She gave a bit of an awkward chuckle, shrugging again. She didn't wuite know what to say. Well, a guy not that much older than her was suddenly shooting commands at her in a foreign language. He had now come right up to her, and it turned out he could speak English. And he had a rather firm air of authority about him. But of course, that could always just be a bit of a cover-up. Mind you, they had drooling dogs, muzzled and on leashes. And guns. Lovely big ones. What were they doing in Series Five, anyway? She squeezed her eyes shut when a large gust of wind came across, making her loose hair fly in all directions. She frowned prominently again, not particularily enjoying this start to the day. But then, she had grown to expect whatever, as everything had happened in her life. Come to think of it, this actually wasn't the strangest. But it was still pretty odd.
Eloise dropped her hands down, clutching the bottom of her shirt and stretching it down a little, before looking up to face the foreigner, fairly unsure what to expect.
OOC Notes
After her answer he turned swiftly to a man who shifted nervously. "Was?" He barked to the man. "Warum verschieben Sie sich? Würden Sie eher wir in einem Platz ohne die Leute sein, zum wir zu helfen?"
"Nicht geehrter Herr, sehr bin ich einfach heiß." The man shifted again, sweat on his brow. "Die Dünen sind heiß und unsere Uniformen werden nicht für diese Bedingungen bedeutet."
The man sighed. The dunes were quite hot, and their uniforms did not help the heat. "Fein. Aus Kampfuniform heraus! Weg gesetzt Ihren Mänteln." The soldiers gave a collective unspoken sigh, taking off their packs and and uniform jackets. Only the four with dogs did not, giving more of a collective scowl to the man, who looked back to the girl. "I am Captain Viener Zulig of the Nationalist Party Army."
OOC Notes
"Oh, ok, then. You have.. traveled.. Germanishly.. To Series Five."
There was a short period of time, in which a lot of barking conversation was exchanged between the leader man and one of the others. After a bit, various coats and bags were slipped off shoulders onto the light, yellow sand. The guy turned back towards Eloise, before saying
"I am Captain Viener Zulig of the Nationalist Party Army."
"I'm Eloise Tesdinic of the... Tesdinic family?"
She gave a little smile, before continuing
"Which Series have you come from? And how? And do you need assistance with anything? Because.."
She gave a small laugh, looking along the group of males
"I'd be happy to assist you band of.. Soldiers."
She gave a little smile, nodding her head a little.
