Sara graduated as valedictorian at age sixteen, having aced all of her exams. [citation needed] She was accepted among the early admissions of Harvard University with a large scholarship. She found it to be a freeing experience because she felt she was finally among her equals. She graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Physics from Harvard. Sara decided to pursue an advanced degree from University of California, Berkeley. She graduated with Master's degree. While in graduate school, she started a Work-study position at the San Francisco Coroner's office. She chose to stay on and worked her way up to a CSI Level 2. In order to keep up with new developments, she audited lectures and seminars with local universities.

Hobbies:
At first, Sara's work was her life, and she had no outside interests or hobbies. Her hobbies were all work related, like listening to her police scanner and reading forensic journals. AS time passed, Sara started having a life outside of work.

Sara admits to listening to Black Sabbath in the past, and often sings at work.

Personality:
Sara's mother murdered her father in 1984, and Sara was subsequently taken into foster care. Sara was in the system "for a while" and became familiar with the feelings of helplessness foster children feel. She is passionate about her cases and often lets her emotions get ahead of her, especially in cases that involve violence against women. This can be both a benefit and a difficulty when working a case. Her passion moves her to go beyond the call of duty (but can also cause her to be inappropriate with suspects and insubordinate with her superiors. She has a problem with authority, and was almost fired when she argued with Catherine Willows and Conrad Ecklie. Sara's forthright attitude often rub people the wrong way.
Sara has demonstrated compassion and empathy for victims of domestic violence and fury against their abusers. When a rapist was on the loose, selecting victims much like herself, she went as far as to offer herself as bait. Her temper flared up when she felt justice was not being served to those women. After seeing Grissom conduct an experiment using a pig, she became a vegetarian. A few years ago, Sara seemed to be on a downward spiral as her memories of her childhood surfaced. Cases became more difficult for her emotionally and once she was caught driving under the influence of alcohol and Grissom was called in. When there was talk of her being dismissed, he stepped in and went to Sara to find the real reasons for her behavior. She admitted she had a problem with authority, chose men who are emotionally unavailable and had a self destructive streak. His further probing revealed that her mother killed her father. Sara grew up believing that violent behavior and subsequent trips to the emergency room to have injuries treated was normal. She didn't find out otherwise until she was taken into foster care. She has moved on past her problems recently.

Sara is trained in weaponless defense. She was also a former smoker, but later quit. She still carries a lighter though. She can deal with nearly everything involved with being a CSI without flinching, but spit makes her nauseous, and she hates bees.

Morgan is about 5"9 in height, and is of a slim, graceful build, with long, slender limbs. She is quite attractive, something which has made her life more difficult as a CSI, as she has to deal with sexist, chauvinistic remarks, and the affect she has on men unfamiliar to her. Despite living in California for a great part of her life, she has never tanned that well. In fact, she burns rather easily, and is famed for wearing sunscreen to crime scenes. Her hair is a soft brown, and generally falls in curls past her shoulders. It is straightened only on occasion.

Hobbies:
Morgan enjoys swimming, and gets into the pool as often as she can, claiming 'it's good for my stress levels'. As a result, she is physically quite fit. Her friend, and fellow CSI, Lana Paige, playfully claimed that it was only an excuse to be in a swimsuit. She plays guitar but strangely enough, can't read sheet music. Morgan also has a little bit of experience modeling, but has often claimed that she'd rather do something that involves more than counting calories and looking pretty for the camera. She enjoys reading as well.

Most kinds of music, except country. She is a big fan of Green Day, and admitted to having a crush on Billy Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt as a teenager.

Other:
Morgan was born in Ireland, but her family moved to California when she was a few months old. They returned home when Morgan was five, and they stayed for another nine years before moving again. Morgan's parents were murdered shortly after her sixteenth birthday, and it was by chance that she and her sister survived--her sister was at a sleepover party, and Morgan had stormed out to a friend's house only an hour before her parents were killed.
Morgan still has nightmares about the trial, when the killer laughed as his sentence--a prison sentence--was handed down, and as he left, promised that he'd finish the job.
