Name:Cassandia Elusa Velusena-- Dia, for short
Age17
RoleExplorer
Appearance:Personality:Dia is very intelligent, though has the tendency to grow impatient with people slower than her, or talk down to those she deems less clever. She's generally very nice, willing to sacrifice most everything for those she respects or is close to, though she sometimes judges at face value and takes immediate dislike for no obvious reason. She's a little awkward, socially, tending to be the observer rather than a direct participant even with very good friends.
Equipment:A simple dagger and bow, with a few arrows (though not many, and no quiver); a book with lots of empty parchment, ink and quills; an atlas, compass, astrolabe, quadrant, and cross-staff; a book of rumours about the unknown, and a harp.
Skills:Reading, writing, mathematics, harp, cartography and navigation. Dia is fit and fast, though not strong, and can't lift or move very much.
History:Born to a middle-class merchant in a city in Lirgo, Dia began playing harp early, in hopes of becoming a harpist. However, she was only six or seven when she began skipping practice time to visit the scholars in the libraries. At fifteen, she became the tutor and nanny for a local noble family. She met, by chance, an important wayfarer and at sixteen, left her city for a port, where she entered a university wit the money she had saved. Soon, she heard talk of an exploration voyage. This would be the perfect opportunity to put her knowledge to the test and to escape a world she already knew so much about.
