Description

Artemis Stevenson is a wirey, pale, and somewhat short young woman. Her auburn hair is cut short and unstyled. Her eyes are blue and perpetually squinting. Most of the time you will find her wearing either a very plain synthetic cotton shirt with jeans, or her absurdly frilly red-and-blue work uniform.

Personality

Artemis's upbringing among the colonial peasants has left her a cynical, grim individual. She is very opinionated and intelligent, but rarely speaks about her ideas on account of her knowing full well that she is terribely inarticulate. What may start out in her head as "It is my belief that organized religion in principle promotes the veneration of false idols and is not to be trusted." will come out of her mouth as "I think that like...church and stuff....I mean, like, with the Bible and all that, that uh....yah, uh....you, you know?"

History

Artemis Stevenson was born in a starship en route to Colony 3 from Earth. As such, she is a member of the so-called "Space Baby" generation, who have never been to Earth themselves. She grew up in Colony 3, where her father worked in the mines and her mother on an assembly line. When Artemis was seven Earth-years old, her mother gave birth to a second daughter, named Stella. A year afterward, Mrs. Stevenson was killed by one of the Lord's attacks. With her father still spending twelve out of twenty-four hours in the mines, it fell primarily to Artemis to raise Stella--and at the same time get a job to help support the household financially. She had to drop out of school, but it was not much of a school anyway.

Now nineteen Earth-years old, Artemis works as a waitress (and does other trivial chores when needed) at Jeydon's Joint, a restaraunt/casino in the Commercial Complex of Colony 3.
