Introduction
Life is fleeting. That is how the saying goes. The life of a human is short, and sometimes tragic. Seconds, minutes, days, years, all jumbled up into what we call the human life, all ending in the grave. Death finds them, no matter where they go, what they do, they can’t escape it. Yet some spend their entire lives searching for a way to reach immortality, the permanent escape from death. Recorded history tells us they all failed. Most of them did, and met their untimely deaths.
Yet others, so few others, succeeded.
...What they fail to realize is....
...Such a thing comes with a price....
Dr. Evangeline Balentyne, a young, talented, and well-respected doctor, is mere days away from meeting the end of her life. After the many years of work to become what she is, after the many people her research has saved, the world has saw fit to reward her with an untimely death. Evangeline, or “Eve”, suffers from a fatal case of lung cancer and is urgently searching to find a cure. Days from death, she was about ready to give up. During her last night, as she was writing her last will, she was visited by a mysterious man in a black suit. He offered her the answer to her problems, a cure for her disease. Not only did he offer a cure, he offered her immortality. He presented her with a single vial filled with a crimson liquid. With nothing left to lose, she took it without hesitation. As she drank the “cure” the man faded from existence, leaving only the image of a fanged smile in his place.
Three months later, in New York City, strange happenings have been going on. Men and women disappear at random, the people gone missing during the late hours of the night. Strange murders have been reported, all of the victims found with wounds like those left by a rabid animal, all drained entirely of their blood. The humans write these things off as a the usual odd occurrence, but these events have attracted the attention of other beings…Creatures above humanity, who have operated under the cover of darkness for far too long…
Events beyond the comprehension of humanity move beneath their comfortable, sheltered lives....
...A new fight for their survival has begun...

Tell me, why does your blood run cold at the sight of me? Is it because you know death is staring you in the face? Or is it because you finally understand that you are nothing but cattle, and I've come to lead you to slaughter?
Cye Kione (The Silver Pierrot) played by Sage Akia
Tell me, what is it you see in the moonlight? I see the world as it once was; pure, free of vermin like you.

OOC Notes
Night...It was Eve's favorite part of a 24 hour day. It was the best time that she could come out and lock Evangeline away and give herself time to play. And that's exactly what she was doing, playing. Her black heels clicked on the sidewalk as she made her way towards The Metro Club, it had become her favorite feeding ground, with a few alternatives here and there. Reaching the club she entered to the loud bass of the music as a multitude of colored lights danced around the room. The scents of sweat and alcohol lingered in the air as men and women alike danced to the beat of the music. In another part which was her favorite section were the drunken oafs who sank their sorrows in a large amount of shots. Her footsteps carried her towards his location, the gentle sway of her hips and the exotic appeal she carried with her she already held the attention of a few of the men sitting at the bar.
Eve found herself a spot near the back and slipped onto the stool, when asked by the tender what she wanted she was about to tell him what she wanted when a gentleman stepped up and ordered one for her instead. A smile slid across her plump reddened lips as the cologne he was wearing wafted to her nostrils and brought with it the sexual hormone as well. So this man thought he was going to get lucky did he, she mused at the thought and glanced over at him with a seductive nature that she'd mastered with ease and offered up a seat.
The man was handsome, but the only thing Eve was interested in was how sweet his blood tasted. After sitting and listening to him chatter on about himself, job, money, and life he was finally drunk enough that she offered for them to leave to a quieter place so they could get to know one another. He was eager and soon couldn't keep his hands to himself. When they got outside Eve gave a playful growl as he wrapped an around about her waist and urged her to walk faster. But as they passed an alley she stopped, gave him a playful grin and offered to have fun for the first time in an alleyway. At first the man was unsure, but soon complied like a love struck fool and followed her down the alley into the shadows.
That's when Eve struck, she turned on him so fast that he didn't have time to scream as she shoved him up against the wall, playfully nipping the tender flesh of his neck here and there. A few excited moans escaped the man before he felt the sharp pain from her sinking her teeth into the curve of his neck. With her strength she held him firmly although he squirmed and began sucking the blood from his body. Too stunned to scream out he could do nothing more than give a few gargled groans of pain before she took the last of his life. His body slumped slightly when she pulled away and watched as his body crumbled into a heap at her feet. Parting her lips slightly she extended her tongue and licked her lips clean of the remainder of blood. Eve was not a messy eater and so with the last drop now on the end of her tongue she smirked and stepped away from the corpse.
Turning to leave Eve left in the direction she and the man had been going exiting the alleyway on another street. Her heels echoed off the walls of the crowded homes on this street but knowing where she was Eve was content for tonight and made her way back to Dr. Evangeline's apartment. She'd find a new victim tomorrow night for in a few short hours dawn would be here and Dr. Evangeline had work, although she was a blood sucker Eve was at least considerate towards her other half and for now allowed the woman to believe she was normal like everyone else. But even Eve knew one day Dr. Evangeline would discover her real dark secret....herself...her other life.

OOC Notes
The scent of freshly spilled human blood was thick in the air as Sage walked down the alleyways behind a group of clubs where the recent murders had been reported. The smell of alcohol and sweat were strong here, almost always followed by the scent of desperation, but tonight they were almost completely overridden by the one thing that did not belong here. Not far from him, somewhere behind one of the clubs, was the corpse of a man who’d drunk so much, Sage was almost sure his blood would be flammable. The alleyways reeked of death, yet the humans always seemed to be ignorant of it. It never failed to astonish him that humans could never sense the scent of death around them and could go on with their petty little lives despite the presence of corpses mere yards away.
Sage scoffed at the ignorant humans that partied within the walls around him as he dodged trash cans and the occasional cat as he walked through the pitch black alleyways, him being almost completely hidden in his black suit. He already knew what he would find when he reached his destination. It would be the corpse of a man between his twenties and forties, not too young, not too young. He would be slightly handsome by human standards and have a smell of alcohol clinging to him along with that of blood. He knew that this body would be nearly drained of all blood, a little more so than the last one he’d seen. He knew he’d see the same teeth marks on the man’s neck. He’d seen it before, and it was becoming a trend. It was why he came to this wretched city in the first place.
He could see the corpse now, a man of similar appearance to the last he’d seen. Whoever was doing this, they seemed to have a general taste in prey. There was a small pool of blood underneath the man, smaller than the previous one he’d seen, as he predicted, but this time, there didn’t seem to be any entry wounds… How strange, Sage thought, taken aback a bit by this fact, only to be pulled from his thoughts by the sudden movement of the corpse. The corpse was rising on its own, pulling itself up by his legs with no movement of the arms. Was this one alive after all? The man turned to Sage and stared at him with lifeless eyes, blood spilling out of his mouth as he shambled towards him.
Sage took a step back just as the man lunged at him, eyes glowing red and teeth bared. Sage dodged the lung by sidestepping, allowing the man to crash into the trash cans behind him. “Interesting..” He said, the confusion almost apparent in his tone, “Is it dead or alive? Curious…” The man got up again and stared at Sage, its eyes still glowing with a faint, red light, it still baring its now growing teeth. Sage cocked an eyebrow as the man’s canines fell from his mouth as if they were rotten, only to be replaced by long, sharp fangs. “Well, now I’m just confused..” Sage said as the man lunged again, only to crash to the floor as Sage sidestepped him. “I’ve seen that before, yet the transformation is never so quick… and the victim is always less… corpsish.” Before the man could lunge again, Sage pulled a gun from his suit and leveled it with the man’s head, a laser sight springing to life as he did. The man backed down slightly at the sight of the weapon, but lunged anyway, this time producing an angry gurgling from within its throat as it attacked.
A few shots rang out from the alleyway, and all was quiet once more.
