Introduction
The rules here are simple.
1: Do not taunt the animals.
2: Do not feed the animals.
3: Do not let the animals run loose during the day.
4: At eleven fifty nine pm, turn your demon out.
5: Do not open your door until dawn.
All bodies will be disposed of as efficiently as possible.

For seventeen years, the gates of Hirach Au’Far have remained closed. A chain snaked between the iron bars of the gate, padlock bolted, and for seventeen years, not a single person from Rimm-Upon-Atoll has tried to break into the Lord’s domain. In a small town, the fears circle with the myths, but even the most foolhardy teenager is too wise to come near. Some nights, you can hear the shrieking, unworldly symphony from the village.
Some nights, no one sleeps.
But progress cannot be impeded forever, and over the course of a single summer, an international fair erected a city where a town had been. Practically overnight, a population flooded in as the city broke its amniotic sac, flailing inarticulate infant limbs.
Behind the walls of his castle, the ward of his gate, the Lord sat beside his closest advisor, and made a decision with her, a decision reneging on a promise made seventeen years before. Over one night, beside the candy-floss advertisements and bubble-gum images, a small, austere notice went up.
Attention. As opening these gates will allow madness out, so, too, will it permit madness to enter. On the final day of this fair, my gates shall open between four and six in the morning. The six I have selected will be permitted entrance to Hirach Au’Far. All I ask is that one be able to follow a few rules. If you can manage that much, you should have no reason to fear.
Following is a series of questions I expect anyone considering this to fill out. Just leave it completed outside your door. The crows will find it.
Yours,
Lord
Inside the castle, though, not all is as it seems. The main decoration of every room is a cage. And in every cage lives a monster. Some are perfectly anthropomorphic. Others as savage as wolves. But between the hours of twelve and six in the morning, every one must be released. And every door must. be. locked. You may hear scratching, or whining, or screaming, but do not rise. There are curses beyond reconciliation and plagues beyond remedy. In Hirach Au’Far, the first responsibility is to your life. The second, to your demon.
Hirach Au’Far is a castle forgotten by time, inhabited by demons. Called down upon the castle for the sins of the fathers, with a few sacrifices and a fourth of the day for themselves, they can be contained, but never controlled. Each kept in a separate room, they have been mostly ignored by the Lord, left to do what they wish in their cages save at night.
Six humans have been invited past the Lord’s gates, and based on the applications they wrote have each been given a room – and a demon. This has been done to keep them in check, to keep them controlled, to keep them… quiet. Now, not all liaisons between monsters and humans turn into bloodbaths. For the most part, they do. But between Lord and his adviser, there exists a kind of symbiosis, and they have developed a bond greater than simply transaction. But that’s the minority. Self-controlled, self-assured, grotesque and intelligent, monsters have their own agendas and their own lack of sympathies. For seventeen years, the mansion has been essentially theirs. Why should that change now?

Lord
The chill of the night washed over Lord's back as he stood outside of his own castle, staring across the grounds with a critical eye. Eleven fifty-nine. These would be a long four hours, but for his own safety, if he was to leave his room at any point during that six hour period, he had to remain outside the entire time. There was no other safe way to do it. Perhaps Vanalee could protect him, or he could miraculously miss the more malevolent demons... Perhaps not. There was no point risking it. Especially if one of the humans came early. That would be a pain, having someone see him exit. No one wants his or her prey to know about the predator until they're already trapped in the den.
With a quick glance to his back, the noise already beginning inside, Lord took off across the grounds. Before twelve struck, he had to be out of the gates. Otherwise, he would be at risk of being hurt, and the world would be at risk of demons being loosed on it. That was one of the problems with this curse. Strict rules governed it. One of them being that other people weren't meant to enter, but some rules were meant to be broken. Some rules weren't. The demons had full control, save in the rooms that humans locked themselves in, spreading a salt barrier in front of the door. If they got out into the world... The rules would end, and not even their king would have power over them. Perhaps not even God.
With surprising strength for a slight seventeen year old boy, Lord pried his protesting gate open jut enough to slip through the crack into the cold fingers of the real world. The real world. A place he'd never been, and never registered any desire to. Even now, faced with all the potential in existence, all the young man felt was a slight boredom. What is opportunity compared to demons? What is anything compared to a curse beyond time? Jaded, he leaned against the post directly outside the gate, muscles already locking in preparation. It could turn out to be a long few hours.
Surprisingly, Lord did not sleep. He did not even consider closing his eyes. Like a livewire had been run down his spine, brown eyes remained wide open, staring warily around this foreign land. Wild trees, preserved by myth and untouched by chainsaw, spiraled around his head, creating a protective canopy that equally prevented him from anticipating danger or disaster. There is no preparing for something you can't see coming. And so he waited. Hour after hour crept by, the time lagging and speeding and lagging. Without a watch, the only means of telling the hour was the progression of the moon and the dappling of light around him. Lord waited.
Finally, like a triumphant hand stretching over the sun to drag it down into the sea, a human figure appeared above the rim of the steep hill on which Hirach Au'Far sat. Lord leaned more casually, a predator straightening. The prey had begun to arrive.

Evelyn Rose
A shift of weight repositioned her backpack, a chosen alternative to a suitcase. It hadn’t shown in her to lug around a box the whole way, but no needed items were compromised in the switch.
Clothes and books among other things had fit relatively comfortably in the pouch, and double-checks insured she hadn’t forgotten the most basic of things. Only an idiot would go incredibly unprepared to the mansion; and Evelyn had a certain distaste for those that couldn’t manage the simplest of things. If anything, she’d rather have nothing to do with them.
Tick, tick, tick, tick. 4:07 A.M. flitted in, and the silhouette of Hirach Au’Far poked out amongst the street in front of her. Excitement? Only slight. Curiosity was the lain back but leading emotion inside her. Evelyn never acted impulsively, and was quite unbelieving even when she was curious, so she wasn’t worried about being drawn into something solely on wondering what was beyond it. Stupidity wasn’t in her cards either. She knew curiosity killed the cat…. But everyone knows cats have nine lives.
Advancing forward, it was like the sole thought of going into Hirach Au’Far emitted its own unnerving aroma. Still the steps of Evelyn’s pace were kept steady in line, but in the same, careful.
Her mind hadn’t yet registered anybody around her, if there was, but it wouldn’t have mattered anyways.
From here, speak to no one. Specifications had been made clear earlier, and from the looks of it she suspected Lord wasn’t soft on those that couldn’t listen.
A halt in her walk came, ceasing her forward when Evelyn approached the front of the mansion.
Even the slightest dawn to creep over the horizon was challenged by many looming shadows, shadows of trees that concealed anything under them and lined the front of the property. Something that stood out slightly among others was a huge gate, permitting entrance and exit to the location.
And she knew her sense prior had proved partly correct;
Hirach Au’Far was a menacing place.

Oliver Matthews
Oliver was breathing slightly hard as he reached the crest of the hill. It had not been a pleasent climb. Twive, he had tripped on something he couldn't see. Then his suitcase had spilled on the second trip. To make matters worse, it had already been a good trek from the nearest bus station. Oliver could understand the want for privacy, but this didn't soften his mood. To cap off his problems, when his suitcase spilled, one of the books he had brought went rolling down the hill and dropped in a creek. Oliver had considered going to get it, but watched as it was swept downstream and determined it a lost cause.
Contemplating his situation, he could only hope it was worth the reward. Now at the top of the hill, he observed the scene in front of him and around him. Looking back down the hill, he wondered how any vechicle short of an all terrain vehicle could make the trip up. Perhaps the slope was less steep on the other side. The only reason this was relevant to him was the thought that mabe he could have had someone drive him up the small road that went straight up the hill. It was then that he noticed the trees. They seemed different than those at the bottom of the hill. While still being fully clothed in leaves, the foilage was thicker, casting the entire area in a sort of twilight.
Now his gaze turned towards the gate. It was a good peice of architecture all on its own. The faded granite blocks and dark gate doors seemed to almost blend in with the area around it. Oliverwas sure that if you were looking directly to the right or left of it, it would fade out of notice in an instant. While looking at the gate, he noticed a person leaning against one of the columns. From his appearance, he was aboy scarcely a year younger than himself. Apparently he was waiting for oliver, and whomever else was going to arrive. As the sun rose Oliver continued towards the dark-haired teenager. For some reason, Oliver couldn't help but feel uncomfortable under his gaze.
"Uhm," he uttered when he came close. "My name is Oliver Matthews. I have come in response to the advertisement." Unsure of what to say further, he fell silent and scratched the back of his head. "Anyways, would you kindly show me the way to the master of the estate? I would like to meet him as soon as possible and work out the arrangements." It never occured to him that the menacing looking teen in front of him was the master...

LANDON
It was almost amusing - the lengths Landon went to just ensure that nobody in the vicinity recognized him and would then be able to report him back to the heretics that were his 'caretakers'. He shifted his backpack, pulling the other strap over his shoulder as he stepped out of the trees, shaking leaves from his multi-colored hair. His multi-colored eyes flitted around, taking in his surroundings.
The ancient fence.
The people already gathered.
The slender male with the air of authority. He focused his gaze on this male. Lord, I assume, he thought as he came to a stop. He was just a tad out of breath. Being a musician had not given him the necessary weapons to make the trip to the gate without having to rest at least once. It was the one bad thing about him having to spend most of his time indoors. Landon's fingers curled around the handle of his guitar case, the other on the handle of a duffel bag with his clothes and other...necessities.
He blew stray strands of hair out of his face, looking around again, before setting his things against the wall. He looked up as one of the other people began to talk, interrupting the sort of oppressing menacing atmosphere that had settled around Landon. Maybe this guy was oblivious to it...

Vanalee
Small bits of pebbles tumbled off at the highest point of the castle. The sounds of the pebbles hitting the ground below echoed through the entire landscape. Her fingernails had managed to slip from the castle's stone. She cursed to herself, demanding that she be more careful. She was bent over the edge, looking down at the gates. She'd been squatting there for almost four hours, and her feet were screaming and she was growing bored. However, she was told to keep a watch out, you know, for anything menacing.
From time to time, she would swish her long, pale tail from side to side, just to amuse herself. Her eyes even shifted colors just to show how bored she actually was. She sighed heavily, just awaiting for something - anything- to happen. She finally came to a conclusion that her Lord was torturing her for his own pleasure. Though she had to chuckle at that particular thought. Her Lord was quite the devious soul, but he knew better than to torture his demon, Vanalee.
Vanalee managed to have a look down at the post of the castle. She saw her Lord there, just leaning against it. She could sense his boredom as well and couldn't help but to let out another chuckle. Though it was cut short whenever she saw him come alert to something. She slowly raised her eyes to see exactly what caught her Lord's attention. From the distance, she saw the same human form emerge from the hill. She figured that those long hours had finally come to its hault.
A low growl escaped her lips. She bared them open, but only a tad; it was enough to where her fangs would shine their own pearly white color. Actually, it made her look more mean - so she thought. When she stood up, her knees cracked from squatting so long, and it caused her to groan. When she was finally standing on her feet, with one large grunt, black wings ripped wide open from her back. She then stood closer to the edge, looked down at the black ground, and jumped off.
The sun had died, and the moon was born. Vanalee flew like a lightning bolt, flapping her wings to exhaustion. She came to a hault when she thought she was high enough to look down amongst the humans. She hovered over the landscape, flapping her wings gently now and swinging her tail from side to side once more. Looking down at her Lord, she softly smiled. She stopped; there would be time to admire his stance later.
Still hovering over just about everything, Vanalee looked down at the three humans, who she identified as two male and one female. Opening her mouth, she inhaled a large gulp of air. She instantly threw back her head, and stretched out her arms to a slight V-shape while her hands were turned upward with her fingers bent curled upward as well.
Vanalee let out one very loud, large, deep and demonic shriek - enough for the world to hear.

Lord
Interestingly, the first person over that ridge was a young woman. Perhaps it was sexist, but Lord certainly didn't anticipate a young woman, no older than he was. hell, she might well be sixteen. Would it even be legal to kidnap her? He frowned at his musing. Who cared? His humanity was showing, and he didn't like it. He'd lived with demons since he was born, and it hadn't been a problem. Better than a pathetic existence coddled by a mother.
Lord took a step forward. Just one. Still able to lean back, but perhaps a bit more visible. It wouldn't do to terrify them. Not yet. A black dressed young man could be imposing to some. Well, particularly at four in the morning. Children aren't supposed to be outside so early. Then again... What about the small girl? This is what you get for not paying attention to the humans, Lord internally scoffed. Perhaps she'll be the one with Eos. He's a baby, too.
Practically tripping over each other, but from opposite directions, two young men joined the girl. So. They had half-arrived. Punctuality was apparently a trait among his new belongings. They'd be disappointed they hadn't waited. Two hours in the cold would be enough to sour anyone's mood, and he had to have that on top of the already passed four. Though the girl and the blond young man held an austere, perhaps slightly frightened air, the third spoke. Taken aback, he didn't let it show on his face. How... strange. Most wouldn't even dream of it. Was this other boy really so oblivious to the subliminal?
"Uhm... My name is Oliver Matthews. I have come in response to the advertisement." Lord raised his eyebrows in polite disdain as the other scratched the back of his head. "Anyways, would you kindly show me the way to the master of the estate? I would like to meet him as soon as possible and work out the arrangements."
It took significant self control not to laugh in derision. And had Vanalee not screeched into the night, he might have done so anyway. Of course his demon would come outside to declare herself when she could just stay inside and declare her dominance over the rest of the demons. Not, of course, that a tiny flash of pride didn't spark down Lord's arms at that primal cry, the one that could make even his hair stand a bit on end and would surely horrify the new visitors.
With a quick glance over his shoulder, Lord mouthed "Why thank you, Van. It will make the next two hours until we can enter ever so much more interesting, trying to stave off their nightmares." He knew, if she was watching his face, she'd see. If not, well, it made no difference. Two smooth steps took him closer to the three humans, slick gait placing him more with them, less with the imposing structure of the gate, behind which was the castle and demon cries.
"Natural wildlife," Lord smoothly explained. "I keep a... preserve, of sorts, on the grounds. We are still waiting for another three, so please, make yourselves comfortable. Try to speak quietly, if you must." The reassuring smile he offered was just a hint of cold. Kindness he didn't feel. "And as to your question, you've met him. My name is Lord. And as I have said, there are three more to come. We will wait."

Symarin Tamil
The roar bounced against his ears, and with an unctuous smile, Symarin detached himself from the credulous young demoness hanging onto his words. A basement dweller, she must have been simply a baby when she was first taken, to believe everything he said. Like the Lord, he wouldn't be surprised if she was still a teenager. Unlike the Lord, she swallowed every piece of pink shit he fed her.
"Now, Vanalee, Lady of the Castle... What could cause you to declare your dominance so fiercely?" he murmured, gliding along the castle corridors. Solicitously, he rapped on a nearby door, calling inside. "Seductress, my darling princess, would you like to come see what has gotten our Lady so riled up?" Of all the demons in the castle, perhaps she was his favorite, aside from himself. He respected her domineering selfishness far too much to attempt to control it. It would be like trying to manipulate himself. Very boring.
Without waiting for the other monster to answer, Symarin moved on, taking in the lamplit corridors and the unfeeling stone around him until he reached the roof. Stepping out onto a balcony, he perched lazily on the arm of a balcony, calling out to the demoness. "Vanalee, what a noise. Has someone eaten your beloved Lord? I wouldn't be surprised."

Tanis Svanhild
Tanis lay curled in the brush having been let out for the night. Exactly after it had turned twelve, she stalked out of the room with a deadly silence or rather with deadly whispers floating over and through herself. She could still hear them now with their contant presence that urged her to feed. However sometimes a lingering thought would ask why and they would respond with a 'To fulfill your desire, why else?'
She felt a tremor crawl over her shoulders and she slowly lifted her head from where it rested on her paws. The blue eyes that glowed in the darkness of the night, as her power was certainly brighter than the darkness surrounding her, shifted to look up at the castle. Shadows and moonlight played on the old stones that harbored her kind. Demons. She felt her lip curl at the thought of another demon as the whispers became voluminous with excitement.
Then she remembered something. Something that had been disturbing her for a while but she had chosen to forget it for her own benefit. Humans. They were supposed to be coming soon. Wasn't that what made the whispers increase and begin shouting to make her get food. The taste of fattened flesh sliding over her tongue as she reveled in her predatory form. She shook her head and turned her nose to the sky hoping to scent the air for what others were out and about. She could scent nothing in particular though since none of it interested her. For that she reasoned that demons weren't as tasty.
Tanis lowered her muzzle to the ground trying to stifle the hunger that singed her inside again. It wasn't a real hunger but just a craving. She raised one paw to brush over her horns liking the metallic sound that reminded her where she was. Taking her time to stand up, she inclined her head upwards at the sky noting what time it was. It had been a few hours past. Those ones should have been arriving. She could conclude that from the fact that she had to return to a different place. That room that would now serve as her domain to be caged. Not being properly caged would serve as a definite consequence, whatever the resulting punishment would end up in. She let her tongue skate over her upper lip as she began the steady lope towards the castle.
Nearing the castle wall she heard the brush of wings right before the shriek that made her lower her head and open her mouth to reveal fangs that would crush any bone under a certain circumstance. Her eyes scanned the sky warily figuring that it could only be that demon. The one that belonged to the lord of the keep. Tanis gave a shake of her muscles brushing off the earlier distress as she watched the figure in the sky. Had she found the humans? She would probably know. After all she is the lords. Tanis turned her attention towards that whisper that reflected her own conscious thought. She had found the faint scent of sweet human to enter the air not long ago but it had been so faint she wasn't sure if she had only been imagining things. She felt the pads on her paws tingle almost telling her to hurry towards them. The urge was definitely strong but after so many years of living with the dreaded whispers she could have some semblance of a mind still left over.
Knowing it had many more benefits to just wait Tanis turned back towards the castle and paced a bit further only to sit nearest the castle door in the shadows where her silvery brown fur wouldn't completely stand out. She kept her eyes focused on the distance distracting herself by wondering how she would go about communicating with the human at all. Would it be better simply not to speak? That would have been the favorable answer. She let out a soft chuff and curled her long tail around her body to keep it out of the way of anything that would bother to mess with her. She could only wait for that hour to come to return to that cage but she had plans for the human laid away in her mind. She crossed her paws in one final effort to get comfortable since it would be impossible to sleep at this hour with the whispers.

Nyx
Nyx stood in the dark, waiting for something to happen. She had been waiting quite a lot these past seventeen years. Waiting to be free or waiting for something of note to take place. Funny how waiting can change a person or, in her case, a demon. She found herself being eaten away by boredom and worse, hunger.
Pushing herself from her leaning place against the wall. Straightening herself up to her full height she felt her skin itch. One thing about taking a human form, it was uncomfortable. The skin itched and her bones ached. Pushing the childish whining to the back of her mind she started to walk.
The grass felt good against bare feet. She was craving the exercise and it did her some good. Besides the night was lovely between the annoying song of the crickets and the buzz of various other insects. She was far from alone in front of the mansion.
It was then she heard the screech and shuddered. She felt her blood run cold and her hands fist tightly. Looks like things where going to change and by tomorrow she'd have a brand new toy. Goodie! She could barely contain her new found excitement. She even managed to jump clapping her hands slightly. Far from the somber demon she was when she first arrived. She even managed to do a bit of a jig. Her squeal of laughter seeming so out of place... Like she really cared. She was going to have fun!

Vanalee
After the last bits of the shriek ended, Vanalee snapped her head forward, letting her arms fall down to her side. She could have kept going, giving the humans more the reason to fear, but she felt as if she would have busted a lung if she did. She glared down at the humans, trying to determine exactly what they were thinking of this whole ordeal. She then smelled the aroma of flesh entering her nostrils. Oh, human flesh made her mouth water, but she was prohibited to eat any of her Lord's humble guests, so to speak.
It only took her a few seconds before she heard an eerie noise coming from the edge of the castle. She whipped her head to glare at whoever dared to speak to her. When Vanalee laid eyes on one of the male demons, Sym, she let out a low growl, enough to where he wouldn't hear her. Out of all of the demons, he was the one who seemed to show no fear whenever it came to Vanalee. She made it be known to all of the demons that she was the dominant one of the bunch, but he was surely different. Even though it boiled her blood hot whenever he spoke out to her, she had to respect him for his courage. Anyone else, and it would have been the very last thing they would do.
Vanalee flapped her wings to where they quickly guided her back to the top of the castle. However, just before she landed on the platform, she took her tail and gently whipped Sym on the back of the head, careful for her tail's sharp tips to come in contact with his skin, for if it did, it would have caused some mere damage, and that would have just been unfortunate. When her feet hit the stone floor, her wings folded on her back and were now covered with a black cloak, which she removed from her head, letting blonde hair fall over her shoulders.
When asked about her Lord, Vanalee narrowed her eyes and smirked at the male demon. "Of course my Lord has not been eaten, you fool," she said to him, stroking his cheek with that hateful tail. "I just wanted to introduce myself to our guests and what better way than to fear strick them? Besides, they are going to be seeing me quite often now that they are here, and I certainly wanted to give them an entrance that was unforgettable. You know me well enough, you should have assumed."

The Seductress
It was almost dawn as The Seductress tip toed out of her old room. Her cheeks were completely full, like a chip monk because she had in them water and her two pet goldfish. When she put them in her mouth the two nearly had a heart attack. Those two never trusted her not to eat them..
As she danced down the hall like a living liquid figure, her fish screamed bloody murder inside her mouth. Not that anyone could hear them but herself, due to the fact that she spoke to aquatic creatures.
The Seductress came up to her new room, a small board hung on the elegant door. There “Room 120: Seductress/Landon Hawthorne” was written in neat and formal writing. The Seductress was tempted to scoff as it looked like Drol’s handwriting. Drol, it was The Seductress’s mock name for the “Lord”. She refused to call anyone “Lord”. The nickname sounded suspiciously close to the word droll, therefore making it quite befitting to the “Lord”, in the opinion of the Seductress.
She entered the room quietly as she spat out her fish in a long pan of shallow water, which she would use to sleep in. She winked at her little captives before she left the room. The human was coming today, soon... There wasn’t enough time to find everything wrong with the room, in order to make a list for Drol. No she would have to do that later on.
As the Seductress left her room she heard "Seductress, my darling princess, would you like to come see what has gotten our Lady so riled up?" A devious little smirk whipped at the lips of the Seductress when she heard the familiar voice. He was tapping on her old door before he quickly left.
Sym, he was one the Seductress enjoyed. Much because the Seductress understood him better than most here, as their selfish outlooks on life were quite in tune with each other, giving them both a certain level of respect for the other. He also possessed a certain wit and manor about him that made him seem more valuable and worth speaking to. The Seductress did not normally care or even notice things such as this in others but the similarities in the two had strangely made them fast friends. Or, that is as much friends as two incredibly selfish people could be.
Without a word the Seductress followed Sym outside. The fresh air met her face with an appealing wet mist in it. The Seductress smiled as she saw Nyx almost… Dancing? What had got into her? Surely it was not the mere presence of humans? What a strange Demon.
She stood, studying the humans from afar as she heard Sym say “Vanalee, what a noise. Has someone eaten your beloved Lord? I wouldn't be surprised”. The Seductress chuckled darkly as she imagined various deaths for Drol but then got distracted as she began to scrutinize the humans. Her glowing blue eyes like bright mirrors reflected the image of a small, dainty female, then of the geeky looking male, then to the one with strange eyes. He had an eye that was blue, and an eye that was green! To the aquatic demons, this was a curse. According to lore, you must avoid them at all cost. Their life would be filled with horror, pain and suffering. A tinge of fear rose in her spine as she hoped he would not be her pet. Any, except for him.
The Seductress showed nothing in her face as she quickly toughed herself to an even harder, more selfish form of herself. Show no fear, remain the one in power. Those with power did not fear. She tuned back in on Vanalee and Sym, acting as a shining figure of confidence as Vanalee flew down and answered Sym. The Seductress had been too in tune with herself to pay attention when Vanalee answered. The Seductress then tuned back into the conversation quickly.
“Oh Vanalee my pet, that was indeed an awful sound! I heard it all the way from my room, simply had me worried to bits! ” Said the Seductress with extreme sarcasm. “I do hope he didn’t die!!” she added hopefully as she put her finger playfully to her chin. “I would have hated to miss that” she then said gleefully under her breath, directing her words toward Sym rather than Vanalee.

Red
Yet another figure took shape in the distance as it ascended the hill; perhaps the first vibrant colors of the scarlet dawn painted on his sturdy backside. The night was passing in pallid existence as the new arrival approached the small gathering at the gates of Hirach Au'Far. His stride was steady and careful...as if each step was completely sure of itself. The brisk morning breeze tossed his wine-red hair about as he came near, his sanguine eyes flickering from person to person the moment they became distinguishable to him.
He stopped a few feet from the group, looking up in sudden surprise as a wild shriek roared through the peaceful silence of the morning. Curiosity took hold of him...for the sound clearly had come from the impressive mansion before him. Never had he heard such a sound...and never had he seen such an establishment. He took another glance at each of the present figures.
We're so...different... was his first thought. Just by looking at them, Red could immediately see how contrasted they all were. Even the way they carried their bags told something about their characters. So what was the link? Why had their mysterious host chosen them of all people?
Red said nothing, his quiet silence the only witness into his thoughts.

Nyx
The Demons where gathering. Nyx smirked softly as she tilted her eyes to the sky. Vanalee had made a distinct impression on the humans. That was one way to go about greeting the new toys. Shaking her head Nyx started toward the others. Her human appearance slowly fading.
She could feel her body shifting painfully. Legs and arms grew longer as her face seemed to melt into nothingness. She felt her torso lose shape before her skin turned pitch black. Soon enough the muscle burned from her bones, making her body lighter. She felt like she had be cast into a pit of fire. Her body was consumed with the sensation. She longed to cry out with the pain of it all but her screams couldn't be mistaken for a beast. Why scare off the food before it had time to settle?
Nyx gave herself a moment to let the fire die. It would dim and then slowly smolder for a few moments. Eventually it faded and she felt her body shiver. Feeling better then she had in a week she burst into a dead run. She silently pushed herself forward. Claw like hands pushing her forward at an even greater pace. Within second she was leaping up and scaling the castle walls like a deformed arachnid. Her body crawling over the edge before she settled on the roof not far from the others.
She gave herself some time to settle. Hunched over with her hands between her feet. Guttural speech seemed to come from nowhere at all. It was harsh and low sounding more like random noise then actual speech. “Time for fun. Can't wait.. taste fear..” Soon after a strange sound surrounded her. It could almost be called laughter. Strange sadistic laughter.

Eos
As the clock struck twelve, Eos sighed in releif. He sat a moment more before rising, arching his back. He listened carefully for the sounds of the other Daemons, so he could find a place where they gathered. Somewhere where he could sit, but not to close, and listen to the chatter. Or maybe he could go take a peep at the new humans that were to come this night. Eos had never really seen a human before, being as young as he was, and he figured that Lord did not count.
Eos stood and thought for a moment, not about anything in particular, just about keeping the Voice away until the sun rose again. Oh, the Voice. It was truly something Eos feared. It purred in his head but what it said was not good. Not good at all. But the Voice could make it sound so good...so good. Eos shook his head and started walking. The easy rhythm of moving was a good distraction. He followed the sound of voices and the warmth of living bodies until a screech rent the air, making him jump. Vanalee. What was she doing? had something happened or were the humans here and she was having some sport? Eos paused and assessed the warmth. Yes, the humans had much more warmth than the Daemons.
A bubble of excitement rose in him. no more going hungry for him. He was the youngest among the Daemons, and as that, the most unskilled. only being half a daemon did not help much either. That meant that he couldn't really steal warmth from the others. It wouldn't be a very good idea. Some of those daemons had very nasty tempers. Thinking of the humans, he shivered with hunger. His violet eyes flashed as he moved to see the humans. There were only a handful there, but the warmth they were giving off was maddening. Eos shot a glace at the others, just in time to see Nyx come, in between him and the other group of Daemons which included the Seductress and Vanalee. Eos blinked at Nyx, who looked somewhat spiderlike. She spoke, it seemed a struggle to Eos, then started laughing. Eos thought she was choking at first, but as it peaked he recognized it.
Eos wondered what she was going to do with her human. He climbed the wall swiftly, his pale hands flying up the stony wall and his silvery hair fanning out behind him as he pulled himself up to get a better look at the humans. His fingers itched and he could just imagine what the Voice wanted to say to him, but Nyx's laughter drowned out everything. Eos smiled faintly. Many a happy night for her then.

Landon Hawthorne
"And as to your question, you've met him. My name is Lord. And as I have said, there are three more to come. We will wait."
Landon studied the slender male. He couldn't be much older than Landon himself. It was very possible they were the same age. He bit back a laugh, struggling not to return the male's cool grin with a mocking smile of his own. The feral cry had made him jump - just a little bit. But then again, he had expected something like that to happen. The atmosphere given off by the entire place seemed to be pretty obvious enough that there was something not quite right about this situation.
"I don't suppose you were going to invite us inside before the others arrive?" Landon asked smoothly, his voice calm as he put his things down. "No?" He made a noise of disappointment. "And here I was, eager to see the inside of the legendary Hirach Au'Far. Good things to those who wait, I suppose," Landon's lips twitched, as if he were almost about to smile. But he didn't, instead, turning to look back up the road for the others who were supposedly going to join them.
Unless they get eaten by his..."wildlife", Landon found himself thinking absentmindedly. Wildlife. Hell, if that was the cry of any sort of wildlife, then Landon was a fluffy pink penguin.

Symarin Taril
Sym did not recoil from the cool, and slightly unpleasant caress of a tail across his cheek. Well, he supposed he should be grateful that she'd seen fit not to break skin. One day his attitude might get him hurt. But until then, it was kind of fun. "So you're terrorizing my new toy? How impolite, I wanted to be the one to do that."
White eyes glittered in amusement at the seditious comments of Seductress. "Don't worry, darling, I wouldn't dream of allowing our beloved Lord to meet his end without your spectatorship. Imagine how impolite that would be." He graced the pretty demoness with a feral smile. "And one should always show utmost deference to a princess, should he not? Here." A long, white hand extended towards the other's thin frame. "Sit with me. I'm certain Lady Vanna would appreciate our company as she waits for her beloved to return to her with our new playthings. Your small ones seem to be insufficient."
With an admirable slight of hand, Sym curled one thin wrist inside the sleeve not solicitously offered to Seductress. When the spiderlike limb reappeared, a plastic bag dangled from it, bearing a fish that, could one understand the language of fish, would have had its eyes wide in terror. "A new pet, as but a token towards you."
The cold fingers of moonlight settled gracelessly across Sym's shoulders, gilding his hair pleasingly as he glanced around at his fellows. Eos, Seductress, Nyx, Vanalee, and of course, himself. An odd complement they made, the silent baby elf, the simian monster girl, the wrath demon who reminded him of a sphinx cat, the bright and spoiled water gem, and the lanky Illusionist. But all waited, waited for the time when they would be returned to their cage. Rather than every other raucous night for those seventeen years he'd had a limited amount of minds to wreak havoc upon, in this one, they weren't dreading the six o' clock fingers of day, but anticipating them. Less than half of their time would be spent in a cage, now. He knew why Nyx had danced. This was something to celebrate.
Speaking of which... "Nyx, darling, you aren't actually going to meet your person like that, are you? I understand, it's how you are and must make it much more convenient to climb walls, but I'd like my... Amberlee, I believe she's called, to survive this first encounter sane. She's no good to me if her mind breaks, and I don't know what she's like. Though I do appreciate that form." He gave it a nod. "Very monstrous. Have you ever considered trying to get adopted as an honorary nightmare?"

Lord
Lord glanced dispassionately between his new possessions. All of the men had arrived. Women really were useless creatures, weren't they? Pathetic and feeble and unable to show up with any sort of time, too busy coddling the mewling infants that sucked at their teats to live. Though all humans, truly, were low creatures, and he desired nothing so much as to transcend that. Especially the cocky disrespect they showed, thinking they were the gods of this universe. Well, these six were, at least, about to find something out. They were anything but.
"Good things come to those who respect instruction and their peers," Lord smoothly rejoined. "You will be living with these others for... quite a while" the rest of your natural lives, if you're not eaten, "and I don't think it would be starting things out right to just leave them. After all, I don't know when they're going to arrive." And I'm not returning beyond those gates until five-fifty-five, when the uncaged demons will be too frantic to preserve their lives and be locked in to attempt anything. But you don't need to know that. "So..." he stretched out his arms and looked each of them in the eyes, trying to appear nonthreatening. Hard, for a person who exuded an air of dominance and disdain, but this charade was needed just a bit longer. "How about you introduce yourselves. If you recall, I didn't demand a photo when I received applications - as such, you know who I am, but I only have a vague idea who I'm talking to. Quite a disadvantage, wouldn't you say?" Another step forward, still loose, still standing. And I need to keep you distracted and from running away. It wouldn't do to have weird stories spread, and I can't call someone out to hunt you down.

Evelyn Rose
The screech that had rung out amongst the Hirach Au’Far grounds caused Evelyn to suddenly favour nails and a chalkboard, whilst making her slightly unnerved and adding to the ominous atmosphere. Her right hand then ran against the parallel lower arm before moving fluidly to cross them, thinking past the cry that had pierced the night. Running off from the location was not yet in her cards, though, and the conclusion still ceased to cross her mind. Even now.
While looking around at her surrounding environment, just as her eyes started to peer closer past the large gate, Evelyn’s head flicked back as she registered Lord speaking to the group.
"How about you introduce yourselves. If you recall, I didn't demand a photo when I received applications - as such, you know who I am, but I only have a vague idea who I'm talking to. Quite a disadvantage, wouldn't you say?" In fact, it was inevitable to agree with the statement. A non-required photo offered all their identities to be shoved in a hat, waiting to be matched to a face. Not to mention it was also a counter disadvantage to know nothing but a title about him in turn, but he didn’t seem to omit the personality of someone happy to have others dig in their personality. And with that, she wouldn’t.
“I'm Evelyn Rose.”
The words came out clean and nice, followed by the raise of a few fingers against her arm to substitute for a kind of wave. No huge introduction about her life story was needed; she didn’t like when people opened up everything about them on the first breath. And, like Lord had stated himself, she’d already filled out an application and had written it all down. Evelyn was not one to like repeating herself constantly.
After the small movement, her arms came loose to brush a piece of hair back before becoming entangled again, her eyes taking a swift glance back at the Hirach Au’Far mansion before looking to the others.

The Seductress
The Seductress grinned with amusement at Sym’s words. “I know you wouldn’t dearest Sym. It would be incredibly impolite.” said the Seductress, enjoying Sym’s proper educate. Or that is, what the Seductress saw as proper educate.
“And of course, being a princess is-” The Seductress cut herself short quite quickly, as Sym’s long ivory arm produced a small plastic bag out of his sleeve. The bag dangled like a screaming treasure before her glowing eyes. The fish roared in terror as it cowered from the aquatic demon.
“I-I-It…” whispered the Seductress as she took the little bag. The fish was so… uniquely colored! “Beautiful… Where did you get this? I lived under the sea for fifty-seven years and I have never seen such a fish!” exclaimed the Seductress as she shook the bag slightly. Not enough to injure the fish, but enough to terrorize it. Then she thought a moment, most fish she had not actually seen because she was always on kingdom grounds. She had simply read many books about fish. Some had pictures, but that didn’t matter.
The Seductress felt very gleeful as she watched the little fish. Sym had gotten her into an incredibly generous mood. She needed to reward him in some way… But how exactly? She would have to think of something.
“Of course I shall” She answered as she went to sit with him, looking expectantly amused at Vannalee. Vannalee saw herself as the dominate female demon. Which, the rest of the house, for the most part, also saw her as. However, the Seductress would be in no form of submissive role to anyone.
Then she noticed Nyx, she was in her black demon form. That tinge down in the Seductress’s spine tingled a little as she thought of Nyx’s ability to feed off of fear. The Seductress tried to avoid that particular demon. Not that she had an incredible distain for her, no, she knew she was better than all these silly demons. Even Sym, though she had a very large amount of favor for him. She would likely keep him as some sort of Duke or royalty when she inevitably ruled the world. Who knew what would happen? None the less, she had indifference for Nyx. Maybe even a sort of fondness after three years of her presence. She had some sort of fondness for them all after three years. Not that she would admit that.
Nyx and all the other demons knew better than to do something towards the Seductress anyway, or they should. Seductress has a way about her. She appears harmlessly naughty but behind that mischievous smirk is a plotting, ruthlessness that comes out in times of fear, anger or vengeance.
There was a demon who lived in the castle a year ago. He was half giant and quite a brute. He simply could not have enough of the alluring Seductress so one day when he cornered her in her cage and, well he was never heard from again.. To this day the Seductress does not remember what had happened. Her memory blacks out. But the vial scene of her cage afterward prevented all the demons from asking anything further.
However, all the demons knew not to abuse the others demons too much anyway. Each had their own viciously brutal abilities that could wreak havoc on the other. The result would likely be that both demons would die, not ideal.

Red
Red cast a watchful eye back over to Lord, only momentarily breaking his gaze as Evelyn introduced herself. Clearly this man was their host. Young? Perhaps. But the abysmal depth evident in his pompous gaze certainly seemed to suggest that this teenager was no child. Everything about him adamantly exemplified an unchallenged authority. His assiduous posture...the sly, devious coo of his words...but especially his eyes; shrouded in foreboding mystery. Looking into his eyes was like looking into the soul of Hirach Au'Far itself. Cold. Dark. Dominant.
"I'm Red," he spoke up suddenly, "Red Davrell. This is quite a place you have here, Lord. It's nothing like I expected." His eyes flared as he spoke, the only witness to his subtle defiance. Hirach Au'Far was much worse then he had expected. Much worse.
...so then why couldn't he wait to go inside?

Eos
Eos shot a sideways glance at the others, his fingers itching to reach out and touch Nyx, who was just out of arms reach. He restrained himself, however, from touching the dark creature. She could probably outpace him in that form. Eos dragged his eyes over the others, and then down at the humans. He shuddered hungrily. They were driving him nuts, those humans were, he could feel the heat rising off of their vital bodies and it made his fingers almost sting with anticipation.
Eos suddenly jerked his head to one side, looking out into the darkness. Their was an animal-like warmth out there. Animals usually didn't come into or near the castle, but this animal, avian from the rapid waves of warmth, so this one must have been young and foolish. Oh, how uncanny. Eos contemplated leaving it for a moment, but he shuddered violently again and that drove him to leap from the wall in the direction of the pin-point of warmth. Sweet releif flooded his body as he dashed towards the little sparrow that had alighted on the wall.
Eos was up the wall again in a matter of seconds, before the bird even noticed him. Eos grabbed the thing by it's middle, preventing it from flying away. It made a loud, surprised sound, but Eos ignored that, and it's struggles. He also ignored the others, who were still in sight. Who cared what they thought? Not Eos, that was for sure. He pressed the bird to his face, savoring the warmth and moaning in pleasure from the warmth that spread through out him, even to the tips of his fingers and his nose.
When the bird was cold and hard as a rock, Eos cast it aside, listening for the dull thump of it's carcass hitting the ground. He started back to where he was sitting before, a small smile tugging on his lips. It would be like that every day with the human, but the human wouldn't die, how amazing! And human warmth was so much better, like comparing water to wine. Eos sat down and brushed so stray hairs from his face and nodded at Nyx and the others.

Re: [OOC] Living With Demons
Which is why I'm prompting my silly peoples to post. Yeah, we're waiting for Mercy and Horseygirl, but if they decide not to post within a reasonable amount of time, I might just go ahead and make it 6 am and have Lord take the peoples inside.

Re: [OOC] Living With Demons
Sorry! To humans whose I messed up:
To the person of -insert name here-:
Congratulations. You will be permitted entrance into the castle Hirach Au'Far. Bring anything you think you may need. There will be no internet or electrical signal. Arrive between the hours of four and six in the morning. From here, speak to no one.
-Lord
Syn: Edit: Ah, it's cool! Just edit them to say -ignore- or something, so that they don't take up as much space.
Also, if you put a / before the second color in , the color will work.

Okay, just making sure, and by the way, I'm sorry you all that I seemed to post like, six times. My computer is very whack and doesn't work properly half of the time, so just ignore that.
