During the evolution of man, some individuals had developped powers, to assist them in their survival. These individuals were called Unchained, and they proliferated easily mixing with the humans at first. Whether is was out of jealous or fear or just plain hatred, humans started shunning the Unchained, and the race was left without any rights as society developped for the good of humans. Unchained were left in the dark, not even appearing in historical texts. Modern 21st century media started divulging their existence, despite the fact that most of the world knew about the Unchained. Rarely would a human help an Unchained, much less love or consider one as a friend. Still, Stained started making their appearance, and the governments decided to try and get rid of the Unchained, classifying them to better recognise them.


You have to choose one species of Unchained from the list below. If you have ideas of new powers, send them to me.

- Stained : Born of the rare mix between a human and an Unchained, they only have half the power the Unchained parent currently has. They are shunned as much as Unchained, considered mutts, bastards, disgusting creatures against nature's ways.

- Imp : Imps are one of the rarest species of Unchained. Whether this is due to the fact that they constantly hide in shadows or use them to their full extent is unknown. They use shadows as weapons, defense mechanisms, ways of escape or anything else. Shadows and darkness are their best friends.

- Snowman : Ice, sleet, snow... nothing relating to these can resist under their control. They freeze people, create blizzards, make snow come out of the pores of their skin, etc. Heat is their worst enemy.

- Poltergeist : Blackouts and power surges have often been blamed upon this species, much to their chagrin or delight. They are even able to enter themselves into an electrical system and use storms to their advantage.

- Specter : Using an ethereal form of their body, they can exit their bodies and pretty much enter anything else, without being able to control the thing, animal or person they entered. They can still communicate with their host though.

- Puppeteer : Using the power of their mind, they can lift things without physically touching the object, animal or person. Of course, their mental strength is not necessarily equal to their physical strength.

- Goliath : They are able to lift extremely heavy things without effort, and even resist most attacks aimes towards them. To them, throwing a car can be as easy as throwing a small pebble.

- Scarecrow : The nails of these Unchained have evolved to become claws that could cut through almost anything. Scarecrows are known for their murderous tendencies, and most mass murderers are actually Scarecrows whose nails have been cut off.

- Firefly : Fire is their thing, being able to walk through it without harm, breathe it, create it, you name it. Many people have been saved from house fires by Fireflies, although no gratitude has been showed once the Unchained's origins have been revealed.

- Changeling : They can modify their molecular structure so as to resemble whatever they want, being able to transform into animals, objects and people of any kind.

- Blur : They run extremely fast, possibly being able to outrun fighter jets if these could actually be used on streets. Their speed is their key to survival and they know it.

- Stoneslinger : They can concentrate their salt minerals to form shapes with them, be it malleable or not. Armors of minerals, weapons, anything can be shaped.

- Seraph : Without wings, they are able to soar through the skies, though no one can determine how they do it. People usually panic when they see a Seraph flying around.

- Merfolk : They are able to control waters, breathe in them even. They control the level of humidity in the air if they wanted to. Puddles, ponds, marshes, lakes, seas, oceans are at their command.

- Earthshaker : Minerals coming from Earth itself are under their control, they are even able to cause earthquakes and fissures. Glass is also at their service, and they are known to be quite calm.

- Metallurgist : Any kind of metal will ply to their orders, literally sometimes. They can create works of art using only their thoughts and enough metal. Unfortunately, the musical genre is not under their district.

- Druid : The plant kingdom is their kingdom. They can make a garden grow in a matter of minutes if they wanted to, or decide to change the DNA of plants in the vicinity to turn them carnivorous.

- Soundreaver : They could render you deaf by making extremely loud noises, or control the bass sounds to create quakes. Even music can be distorted to their liking, completely changing the musical genre of a song.

- Viral : With so much as a touch, they can transfer diseases depending on the individual. AIDS, cancer, chicken pox, the common cold, anything can be transmitted.

- Cloaker : They can block the reflection of light on their skin and even what they have on them, so as to turn invisible. The truly strong ones can even get rid of their heat signatures.

- Ghost : They can turn intagible to escape many assaults. Only an attack towards their minds could actually affect them much.

That's about it. Your story pretty much relates how you survive in a completely human society. Do you mingle, or hide in shadows? Your choice.

Unchained stands for the fact that this race separated from the human evolution chain millions of years ago. In human girlfriend-boyfriend relationships, there is almost always a breakup or divorce. When the Unchained chooses a mate however, the two can never separate, unless one of them dies.
