The Story
She turned on her heels ran to the bartender shelled out ten bucks and he handed over her purse, everything intact. She swung it over her shoulder swiftly walking over to the bouncer, 'Ted' wasn't that his name? "Hey Ted!" she shouted, he looked up from his scanning of the crowd. He saw her and smiled, waving her over. She cupped a hand to his ear and whispered "Hey Ted, that tall guy he's following me, do you think you could hold him up for, I don't know, ten minutes? Long enough for me to get away." Ted was looking for the man as she spoke, his eyes found him and he only nodded. "Bye Ted!" Laura yelled over the music while running out the door, heading for her newly owned apartment, three blocks away. Laura heard sirens and a loud bang of the club door, the police ran up to the door, shoved the man who had been following her into the back seat and drove away. Ted winked at Laura and she waved thankfully, turning around and walking around the street looking for something interesting.
"I am sorry Sherry, but I really am tired. Thank you for inviting me out though." Yollanda smiled at one of her friends.
"You can at least wait past midnight silly. It's New Year's Eve after all." an African American girl replied.
"No thanks Natalie. You can stay though, I wouldn't want you to spoil your evening."
The group groans. Yollanda had met up with her friends from college at Pink, their favorite club. It was Christmas vacation and the girls decided to stay New York City to spend the holidays there. Yollanda didn't really have any family so she was staying at a friend's house. When school starts back up again they would move back into the dorms. Yollanda didn't like the night life much and wanted to go to bed. It took her a few more minutes, but she finally got them to let her go and she started to walk back to her friend's house. She had a spare key and couldn't wait to get back. Her feet were hurting. As she walked along she turned the corner and accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh I am sorry."

"It's New Years you should come out with us." Sarah said. "Some of our clients are here and asking about you."
Adrianna smiled shaking her head. "Nah, I think I'll pass. I am just gonna go to the bookstore then probably head home."
"Adri, you're 21 years old and trying to go home on, New Years Eve." Sarah said trying to make her see reason. "Look just try to come to Pink's after you get your book. Please, please, please..."
Adri laughed. "Alright!" She said trying to stop her begging. "Let me just get what I need, go change and I'll try to get there." She said before hanging up shaking her head at Sarah's antics.
Adri walked into the bookstore deciding to browse real quick and see if there were and title's that interested her. Just as she reached out to grab a title another hand did as well.

"Oh I am sorry." She said.
"It's fine." He mumbled. "Not your fault. I wasn't paying attention..." his depression made him take the blame for everything, even if it truly wasn't his fault. It was just simply a fact of life that he dealt with.

One more shot was on the table and it was buzzcut's turn. So far, fourteen down each. Buzzcut picked the glass up in three fingers, probably because he couldn't feel the other two. He moved it to his lips and tipped the glass. As soon as he did this his head dropped and so did the glass. It shattered on the ground and the contents spilled all over the floor. Ryan, who was sitting at a safe distance on one of the bright blue couches, with a random girl, grinned in victory. The only thing he knew about this girl was that her name was Phoebe. Phoebe bent over and kissed Salem.
Lets back up a few minutes.
"Hey, my names Ryan," he said while taking the seat next to her. He was dressed in a black vest over a white button up shirt and black slacks. The shirt was buttoned up to the second button from the top and the sleeves were rolled up to the elbow. She seemed totally uninterested in this club. Without allowing time for a response from this mystery girl he said. "You look quite bored." He said as he took a sip of his drink. The girl looked over and smiled. "Yeah, well, this isn't really my scene, ya know? Idiots getting drunk doesn't really excite me." Ryan chuckled and nodded, "That girl over there is my roomate, and she insisted i come out on new years eve." she said with a frown, as she waved to her friend. Her freind was getting hammered. This was about the time he spotted the two men having a seat at the table for their little challenge. He also noticed, his new lady friend had an empty glass.
"Why arent you drinking anything?" he asked. She didn't seem like she had an aversion to alcohol. She shrugged, "I'm broke" she said with a half pathetic smile. Ryan smiled and looked back at the men, recieving their first shots. They seemed like they could last a while. He looked back at the girl. "I have an idea of how we can turn these drunk idiots into something more interesting." mischeiviously " See those two guys taking shots over there" he pointed. "If the bigger one with the buzzcut wins I will pay for all of yours and your friend's drinks tonight." The other man was smaller, and didnt look like he had much of the advantage, but he looked like he had a few drinks in his time. "but... if the other guy wins... you have to kiss me, right here." he said. This was kind of reaching, but she had been giving him a 'im interested look' and he decided to act on it. He knew this wasn't going to go anywhere, but he kind of wanted to see if this would work. He smile and held out his hand to shake on it. She quizically stared at him and then shook his hand... "Deal, Im Phoebe by the way." Ryan smiled and turned his attention to his wager. He knew the little guy wouldn't win without help so as one of the shot carriers walked by he pulled him aside and handed him a ten dollar bill. "If you can make sure the big guy gets some... more potent stuff about halfway in, theres more where that came from." he patted the mans shoulder and sent him on his way.
And now we are back to the present. Ryan's kiss was interrupted after a few seconds by a tall goofy man being thrown out the door. Phoebe backed away, blushing. "Uh, ive got to go. Heres my number" She handed him a piece of paper with ten numbers on it. Ryan shrugged and put it in his pocket. He watched the girl leave the bar with her drunk friend and never saw her again. "Hmm, interesting" he said with a smile. He put his arms on the backs of the couch seats and crossed his legs.

In exactly 20 minutes, Lisa was supposed to meet up with a couple of her friends. she had a habit of being early, but this was a time that she regretted it. She didn't want to sit alone in a bar for 20 minutes. She didn't go out to often, but knew the types of people that hung around places like this.
"You want anything to drink, ma'am?" She was snapped from her thoughts by the bartender calling to her from a couple of feet away.
"Uh, n-no thank you! Not yet." There was absolutely no way she was drinking without someone with her. The results of her drinking were usually dangerous for her, either resulting in her blacking out or throwing up after more than 3 or 4 drinks. She couldn't handle alcohol for her life.
Sighing, Lisa propped her arms up on the counter and leaned her head on them. She would simply wait in silence and not disturb anyone else.
Adri sighed internally, already having a feeling she knew where this would go. She shook her head smiling politely at the man. "No, really its okay. I actually have a copy of this at home...I just wanted a new one. You go ahead and keep it." She said softly. "Happy New Years."
Adri left the bookstore unconcerned with the fact that she didn't even pick up her order. Then her phone vibrated with a text, Hey! We're leaving Pink and heading to Neon Blue, so don't even worry about changing just head over. I know you are already dressed to impress as always ~ Sarah
"Okay...I guess that's better then Pink." She really didn't like that club to much, Neon Blue was definitely more to her taste and Sarah was right she really wouldn't have to go home and change. Her hair was straightened and she was wearing a nice fitting dress and heels.
Walking the short distance to Neon Blue, where Ted the bouncer was and he let her in seeing as she had come here before with her co-workers. Adri sighed looking around not seeing them at their normal table. She walked across the room to the bar asking for a martini, before going and sitting on the couch next to a guy with brown hair.
About a half an hour passed before Gabriel finished her third beer, and Maddy had just had her tenth. Gabriel watched her, stunned. "Wow so you feel fine?" She said giving a small blink with her green eyes. "Yep." was all her friend replied with, giving a flick of her blonde hair. "Well, I guess all you lost was some of your unused blonde brain cells." Gabriel teased as Maddy ruffled the top of her hair, messing up her black head. "Aww your too cute." She said sarcastically, before Maddy got a sick expression over her face. Gabrie'ls eyes opened wide and her heart beated a mile a minute. "I told you!" She yelled out to her, before grabbing her arm and dragging her through the crowds of dancing people, to the bathroom. Shoving through the lines in the stalls, Maddy got into one free one and began doing what the ten beers did to her, all the while this girl behind us was complaining about "It was our turn!"
Walking from the Bathroom... well I guess more like stumbling, Maddy muttered in her slurred voice "I think I should go to bed." Gabriel was sad, but it was the best Idea. It was new years eve and it would probably be hard to get a taxi. Walking outside, they both tried hailing a taxi. Finally after fifteen minutes, she let Maddy get into the car and gave her tax fair. Waving goodbye, she slipped back into the club with a long exasperated sigh that she couldn't even hear over the loud music. She wore a black tank top, a red leather jacket, and grey skinny jeans. She wanted to take the jacket off as it was getting hot with all the people crowded together, but it would probably get lifted. Shrugging the thought off, she looked around before spotting an empty couch seat. Gabriel made her way over to it, swerving through the dancing people. Sitting down on it she pulled out her phone and sent a quick text to Maddy to call her when she got to the hotel.

He swallowed and was about to turn to talk to the stranger, when another woman... drunk... fell onto the couch next to him. He glanced over at this girl. She was beautiful as well, but he wasn't as awe-struck as when he saw the other girl. The fact that this girl was trashed kind of dropped her attractiveness factor. This girl soon pulled out her cell phone and began texting. She obviously was not interested in him at the moment. He turned back and faced forward.
After taking another drink from his glass he set it down and turned to the girl on his left. "Hello" he said. 'ooh, thats original' "What brings you to neon blue on new years eve? I'm sure a girl like you has better, more sophisticated places to be around here." once he said this his brain went into overdrive. 'shes gonna blow me off,' 'shes going to laugh and we are going to talk for hours' 'she is gonna ignore me and leave' All different scenarios ran through his mind, but he didn't show any of these thoughts on his face. He had quite a poker face. At least, this is what he was told. When he managed to make all of his friends poor at 'poker night'.

"I am here waiting for my co-workers, they are supposed to be meeting me here and what did you mean a girl like me? What kind of girl am I?" She asked wittily with a raised eyebrow trying to catch him off guard. They always fumble after this, they completely expect me to go for the first line. she thought to herself.
Adri was always dealing with guys like this, her friends thought it was something to be jealous about. She just hated the fact that guys thought she was an easy lay because of how she looked. All she wanted was a guy who was actually interested in more then the way she looked or the money she had, even the clothes she wore. Her mother was always sending men with all of those qualities her way, and she would grin and bear it through conversations and set up dates although she couldn't stand it.
She just wanted a guy who was interested in the her Adri as a whole, looks, personality and intelligence included but here in New York she had yet to find one yet. And this guy will be the same..Its a shame he's actually attractive
"Well, I tend to be the clumsy type anyway. Um, I hope you don't think me nosy, but are you okay?" she asked with concern.
She couldn't help but ask herself a bunch of different questions. Yollanda had the habit of being naturally curious and she could remember one of her 'old' relatives scolding her for it once. Thinking of those times almost made her sad, but she didn't want to make a fool of herself. So she continued standing there, waiting patiently for the man's reply.

She was giving up, but finally she snapped out of her thoughts. Tonight she would flirt hard core, she decided. 'Maybe that horoscope was right' she thought curiously. Hopefully she'd make a few friends too, other than Ted. So she sat at the bar and waited for a guy flirt-worthy to walk in.
The setting changes from O'Rileys to Time Square
Gabriel leaned against the side of the doorway, taking a breather. She contemplated going somewhere else, but everywhere probably was just the same on new years eve. She might as well stay here for a few minutes to cool off.
She watched as drunken partiers walked by, slurring there words and yelling annoying and self centered thing, drinks all in hand. Crossing her arms, she looked up towards the dark sky, only hearing the yelling, traffic, and sirens that always filled New Yorks atmosphere.
He then realized she probably wasn't there for him, and probably couldn't care less about him, but hey. who cares. Its wierd to just sit in silence with somone in a club. Might as well make conversation, even if it means getting blown off. He was never one for picking up chicks. The thing with the girl earlier was a fluke... not at all an unfortunate fluke, but a fluke all the same. He just didn't have the heart to lie to a girl just to get what she was willing to give up. This girl seemed like she had some depth though. That and she was absolutely stunning.
Besides she had gotten that horoscope today. Although normally she never followed them or even cared about the messages from the stars, this one seemed to really catch her attention. Open the curtain to you heart and you maybe surprised what you will find.
Adri looked around club already knowing she would see exactly what he was talking about. When her friends would drag her down here she would see the same thing and always refuse to be an easy conquest for men. "I try to make myself separate from them...although most people don't think that. Thanks for the compliment though...most guys say something about my appearance and try to coerce me into the bedroom, within 5 minutes of meeting me. " She said looking at him.
"I'll admit at first I thought you would be like them...but you have made me rethink my initial impression." She truthfully. This man had gained her interest and seemed to be worth her time, "I am Adrianna, but everyone calls me Adri." She said smiling softly offering a hand to shake.
"Well, Adri, I am very glad I changed your first impression, It would have been quite upsetting to be labeled as 'one of them'" he air-quoted his last words. He paused to take a drink. "So, when will your colleagues show up and whisk you away? I want to know how long we have before we never see each other again." He joked. He didn't know why he was talking like this. He usually wasn't this open romantically. Maybe it was something about this girl.
'This is different, normally its the other way around' She thought to herself. Adri didn't know what is was but this guy actually seemed sincere with everything he said, she didn't feel like he was the average guy. She didn't even know his name and she knew there was something special about him, something she liked. 'Speaking of which..' "Don't you have a name?" She teased lightly. "I'd like to know it before I am 'whisked away' by co-workers."
Then he noticed where exactly they were. It was a very dangerous part of town. "What about you, where are you going? You know, these streets aren't safe at night on your own." He said to her, his caring and protective side kicking into overdrive. He wasn't about to let this girl walk alone. He would walk her to her destination, then go on his way. Or maybe he could get her to come with him to Neon Blue... but that wasn't a good idea. He touched the heart tattoo on his neck.
When he did answer her, his answer sounded like her usual answer, I'm fine. In other words, it was true, but not the whole truth. Still, she wasn't going to press more. She was starting to feel nervous now. Here she was in the city of millions alone with a man she just met and the blonde hair college student didn't know what to say or do next. For some reason, she remembered her horoscope for today.
Opportunity knocks, so keep your eyes peeled and take hold of it when it happens.
She honestly didn't know what that meant and didn't know why she was thinking about it now. Her thoughts are interrupted when the man asked her where she was going. Her eyebrows raise up a bit. She honestly didn't expect that and wasn't use to it.
"Um, it's not a big inconvenience is it? I've walked home this way before. I wouldn't want to keep you from going where you're going." she said.
He leaned back into the chair stretching his back. "so, these associates of yours, are they all as well behaved as you? Or are you just putting on this charade until they show?" he asked with a smirk. He could imagine her freaking out when they showed up and, would start dancing like a street walker. He was fairly certain this wouldn't actually happen, but it was an entertaining image. He chuckled to himself waiting for her answer.
Yes, Adri had just recently turned twenty one, no more then 6 months ago but had been drinking prior to legal age. The idea of being drunk just never appealed to her so she never really tried to be that way. That wasn't to say it would never happen. Adri liked being able to be poise and at her best when she went out.
She could foresee some interesting and fun conversations with Ryan, he was just as witty as she was and seemed to have a comebacks to match hers. "So the most you might see in a change is I may go on the dance floor more. The guys I work with like to dance with me and I like to dance." She said shrugging softly.
Adri looked at him, 'He's handsome, seems quite intelligent, and he's got a cute personality...it's got to be too good to be true' She realized she was probably staring and started decided to ask him a question that had been on her mind
"So Ryan, what are you doing here on this New Years Eve?" She said as she crossed her legs placing her drink on the table.
"So Ryan, what are you doing here on this New Years Eve?"
Ryan thought about that. He had lived here for a while, but he had never, really been out during New Years Eve. He never liked the crowd. He was out this evening because of an e-mail that showed his horoscope. He usually didn't read into that stuff, but he read this one. "your lucky color is blue. Don't miss out on the chance of a life time tonight. It won't be there forever." He didn't believe it, but figured, if it was real. This would be the best night to witness something amazing, so he went out. Consequently, he went to Neon Blue... his lucky color.
He didn't want this girl to know the real reason he went out... He never told anyone this kind of stuff. His hopes and dreams and all that jazz. He wasn't that open. So he decided to stretch the truth a bit. "A friend convinced me to get off my butt and have some fun, He kind of ditched me earlier, but its all good." he said. "I don't hit the clubs much." he admitted. That was true.
Snap out of it! she tried to tell herself.
Looking at the man again she managed to reply, "Well, okay, you can walk me home than. I am staying at a friend's house that's several blocks from here. I am sorry, I honestly don't like Neon Blue."
Something inside of Yollanda stirred. Did she say something wrong? Oh, man, she was making a muck of things. It seemed like she couldn't do anything right. As they walked, she wondered why she felt like she missed something. Did she miss an opportunity? Normally Yollanda wasn't into that kind of stuff, but she couldn't just ignore her instincts either. When she did listen to them, they usually pointed her in the right direction. Maybe it was time to took a risk and did something for herself? She looked up at the man next to her when he mentioned he'd rather feel pain than nothing at all. Taking a deep breath, she decided to take that opportunity and run with it.
"Um, I don't have to go home now. We can always go someplace else, as long as it's not Neon Blue. Oh, my name is Yollanda, sorry for not introducing myself earlier." she said.
Okay, now she would see what would happen.
Adri looked at him, "As for your friend ditching you, as sorry as I am that you got left by him. I'm glad you came." She said smiling at him. "God knows what I would have had to deal with if you weren't here...and your pretty good company too." She said with a small laugh.
"You know it's actually funny, normally my email puts those crazy horoscopes in the spam folder but today it didn't and for some reason I read it. It turns out that following what it said brought me here, who knows maybe it was fated that we meet." She said lightly laughing at the idea. You wish...on thing your fated to is to become some man's trophy wife like mother wants...this guy is to good to be true and probably has some other girl he's interested in. Adri thought to herself
"Is this seat taken?"
"Um, what is O'Reilly's like? I have never been there before." she asked him as they walked along.

Salem took one last drink and finished off his glass. He was about to swallow when she said the nest thing. He almost did a spit take. 'no way.' he thought. 'theres absolutely no way.' he swallowed hard and turned to look at her. He could not believe that she had that happen to her as well. 'dont miss out on the chance of a life time'
"fated..." he repeated quietly, putting down his glass. He nodded his head and stood up. "Maybe it is fate. If so, let's get outta here." he offered with a smile. "Don't worry, we aren't going to "get coffee" or anything. I just feel like something amazing will happen tonight... and I don't want to miss it." He held out his hand to help her up. "So how about it, want to go on a New Years adventure Adri?"

Adri looked at his hand, and softly placed hers in his. "Okay." She said with a smile as she nodded, standing up. I trust him, even though I barley know him...and for some strange reason I don't mind.
She looked at Ryan, "I'd love to go on a New Year adventure with you." She said smiling widely. This is me opening the curtain to my heart...lets see what happens. Adri thought to herself, pleased with her decision for now.

She did love music though. In her spare time when she was alone, she tended to sing out of habit. One time one of her friends caught her and insisted she take lessons because she thought she was great, but this was one thing she did not want to do because the idea of sharing something like that scared her. She had already been rejected in the past, what if it happened with something she truly loved doing? It just wasn't something she was willing to risk.
Soon they arrived at O'Reilly's and the place looked very welcoming. It didn't feel like an ordinary bar.
"Where shall we sit?" she asked Zac.

Once they were both outside in the cold he noticed all the people. He had been in the bar for a good couple hours and the number of people exploded. He rolled his eyes and checked his watch. They had a few hours before the ball dropped, so they were going to have some fun. Ryan lived nearby, so he made his way towards his apartment. He lead her along through the crowd, until they were out of the ocean and had some elbow room. Once Ryan could hear his own thoughts he turned to Adri to let her know what was happening. When he saw her he couldn't help but gasp. She was even more stunning in the moonlight... well street lights. He shook his head to get his thoughts straight. "I'm stopping by my place to grab something, and then we can get moving, lots to do tonight. He said this with a smile and, without waiting for her to answer continued walking, still holding her hand.
She looked at his form as he pulled them to the crowds, he was still fairly taller then her even if she was in heels. Adri wasn't sure but he seemed to be slightly muscular but not in a bulky way...he was more lean.
It was at that moment when he turned around making her take in a short breath at the sight of his blue eyes and smile. He's gorgeous and handsome at the same time. She thought to herself. "Okay." She said nodding as he said that he had to stop at his place for a minute, she allowed him to guide her not minding at all that he wasn't letting her hand go and she wasn't going to pull away. Please don't let this be too good to be true. She said a silent prayer of hope as they walked down the streets.
"Um, excuse me, but do you make Grasshoppers here?" she asked.
"Aye we do. Are you old enough to drink?" he asked her as he got Zac's drink.
Yollanda was use to this and simply pulled out her driver's license before showing it to the bartender.
"Hehe, all right you pass. Just had to ask. You look younger than 21."
"It's okay I get that a lot. Can I have a grasshopper please?"
The bartender nodded before getting Zac's scotch and than than Yollanda's grasshopper, which was a type of cocktail that was mint flavored. Soon he served both drinks. Yollanda thanked him before taking a sip.
"It's delicious, thanks." she smiled at the bartender before looking back at Zac.
It looked like he was going to say something and he tried to, but stalled. Yollanda could emphasize for she wasn't a conversation started. She was having problems thinking of something to say. It took her a few minutes to think of something.
"Are you from here?" she asked.
No need to tell him that her life had been rough and that she didn't have any parents. She hadn't seen her mother since she was a kid and her father didn't want to have anything to do with her. Yollanda originally didn't want to move to NYC because it was so big, but her best friend from high school was living here and she feared being alone more than anything so when her friend asked her to move to NYC she took it. If she was honest with herself though, she secretly missed the small town where she attended high school. The people there were so nice and welcoming. Here everything was a bit more cutthroat.
"How did you end up here than?" she found herself asking next.
She unknowingly had turned in her stool more towards Zac and had slightly leaned towards him.
Once inside he put his back to the door. The apartment wasn't a mess. He didn't want her to see his dingy apartment. He exhaled deeply and looked at his hand. The feeling was gone. With a door between them he couldn't feel tingling he felt when she touched him. He shook it off and walked to his kitchen. It was only a small one bedroom apartment so his kitchen was close by the door on the left. He reached into the door and grabbed his cell phone and a small digital camera. He had left his cell phone at home, because he didn't want to be bothered by his friends tonight.
He walked back to the door, stupidly thinking in his head. 'what if she just left. what if she thought, 'finally hes gone i can leave.' He rolled his eyes at himself. He hated this lack of confidence. It always screwed him over with this stuff. He opened the door she was still there patiently waiting. He smiled. "Alright, we can go now." He was then faced with a dilema.
He had no excuse to take her hand now. they had no reason to be attatched so they could break through a cloud. If he were to take her hand now it would be totally unprovoked. He didn't care he needed to feel the electricity again. He figured, 'hey you made it this far, if she hasn't left by now, go for it' and he did. He took her hand with a smile and descended the stairs to leave his apartment. Next stop... Rockefeller Plaza.
'Is it bad that I wish he would have invited me in just so that I could still be close enough to hold his hand?' She shook that thought from her mind
Adri pulled out her phone looking to see if her friends and co-workers had texted her but saw nothing. She sighed looking around,'If he saw my apartment he would probably think I am stuck up rich girl...who gets hand outs from her parents.' Adri knew that this wasn't true that she worked for her everything she had...yes her trust fund from her grandmother helped but she never asked her parents for anything. I just don't want him to get the wrong idea about me...because of money.
Just as she continued this thought the door opened and Ryan appeared to have a worried look on his eyes which quickly melted away as he saw her standing there. Adri could feel a soft smile growing on her lips as he grabbed her hand again. 'Maybe he feels this too..' She thought to herself.
As the made it outside off his building she looked at him. "So where are we off to now?" She asked him with a smile. "I can tell you've got something planned."
The setting changes from O'Rileys to Time Square
The man looked disbelieving. but He saw honesty in Ryan and believed him. "Sure thing man, get in ill take you where you need to go" he said a bit unwillingly. Ryan opened the door and ushered Adri in with a grin. He sat next to her in the cab and leaned in to the cabbie. "I'm Ryan," he said holding out his hand. The cabbie looked back. "Ernest" he said with a half smile and shook his hand, "Where to?"
"Take us to Rockefeller Plaza" He said and sat back in his seat. He had let go of Adri's hand, he found it awkward to hold someones hand inside a car. He sat back and put his arms behind the head rest, or lack thereof.
Adri looked at him, "Rockefeller Plaza?" She asked smiling softly. " I actually live really close to there." Adrianna's condo was right off of 48th street, in the middle of Midtown. It was a really nice place with a great view, and she actually wanted to change into some jeans so she could enjoy this night to the fullest. "Do you mind if we actually stop at my place too? I know you have some thing planned and this dress most definitely isn't the easiest thing to a lot of things in ." She said before she realized what she had done.
Great, now he's gonna see how nice and expensive your apartment is and think you only care about money. She berated herself. Adri knew she really didn't care about materialistic things but people's first impression of her proved otherwise once they saw her possessions.
Adri looked at him. Who know's he seems to be different with everything else.
He realized he was staring and shifted his gaze to the front of the car. This, however was not good enough. He turned back and started conversation. "So Adri, sorry if I am about to start the 'first date small talk' but I'm curious." he airquoted 'first date small talk' "What do you do when you aren't getting hit on at bars... or hanging out with drunk colleagues?" he said with a small laugh. He expanded upon this. "You wouldn't happen to have any... interesting hobbies, would you?" he asked with a sly smile.
Adri turned to Ryan. "Okay I'll tell you about my hobbies and I answer any questions you have...but, then you do the same thing afterwards."
She thought before answering him. "Well, I told you before that I am in the PR business or Public Relations so I always volunteer to travel for work because it's just me at home, I don't have any loved one's to worry about. So I travel." Adri always volunteered to work the jobs that required that they leave the city, because she knew how it was to have a loved one always leave for work on business trips and she didn't want anyone have to leave their family behind for work.
"I also play the piano and sing when I am bored." Adri said shrugging. "It just something I do for fun."
Adri looked outside and saw they were getting close to Rockefeller Center. "Hmmm, interesting hobbies though? I really don't think I have any." She said trying to think of something but coming up with nothing. "I used to be on the gymnastics team in high school...but that's about it."
Adri smiled at him teasingly. "And I bet you thought I was interesting too..but really I am just as normal as they come."
((Sorry guys! I was out of town. ^^;;))
She talked about her piano and singing skills. Ryan grinned at this. Music was hugely important to him and the fact that Adri had musical talent made her even more perfect.
As they approached Rockefeller she told him she used to be on the gymnastics team and a nice mental picture of her in a once piece gymnastics leotard. He smirked at himself and turned his attention back to Adri. She was finished, and all it did was raise more questions, but again, they had some time. He was about to speak when Ernest stopped the cab. "Rockefeller Plaza!" Ernest exclaimed. Ryan smiled at Adri and leaned forward to pay Ernest. Her handed the cabbie a twenty. He pulled a reciept out of his wallet and wrote his cell phone number on it. "We will be about an hour, so you can go somewhere and hang for a bit, call me and tell me where you are som we can find you again." he smiled and Ernest nodded in approval.
Ryan pushed open the door and got out. He reached a hand back in to help Adri out, "Lead the way" he said with a smile. He was going to get to hold her hand again!
"So I'll tell you some more random facts about myself to occupy for the walk to my apartment then on the way back, you can tell me somethings about yourself..." She said smiling in anticipation.
As they walked Adri wracked her brain for something to say. "I am from upstate New York, and graduated from Columbia University. I guess you could say I enjoyed college, I more so enjoyed the fact that I was away from my house and on my own for the most part." She said purposefully leaving out her family. 'He'll see once we get to my place...and maybe his reaction won't be as awkward as I am thinking it will be. Or maybe he will act strange like the few guys I let into my life.' She thought to herself.
Soon enough they came to view of her building which was impressive enough. Adri smiled although she was freaking out inside. 'Well the moment of truth...' "Here we are..." She said as they walked up to the building. The doorman, Kevin opened the door. "Good evening, Kevin." She said with a smile leading Ryan through the door, as Kevin replied in greeting.
Adri pulled him up to the elevator hitting the button for the 17th floor. She glanced over at Ryan not really able to gauge his reaction. " I recently moved here...I used to live closer to the University." She was about to say something when the elevator chimed signaling they were on her floor.
She held Ryan's hand until they got to her condo at the end of the hall, when she unlocked the door. "Come on in." She said smiling in hopes he wouldn't change because now he knew she had money. "Oh shoot! Ryan I hope your not allergic to dogs...I have a puppy, named Ella. She's a Siberian Husky."
Adri put her key's on the piano her father had bought her. She looked back at Ryan to see he was still taking it all in. 'That better than what I thought would have happened.' She thought to herself. "Feel free to look around, I am gonna go change." She said pointing down the hall. "Also don't be surprised if Ella come's out from nowhere. She hides when people she doesn't recognize come in...then she slowly makes her way out." She said before going back to room to change. 'Please don't let him freakout like the others.' She thought to herself as she went into her closet to pick something out.
They walked in the door and she greeted her doorman. a doorman... hmm. He nodded in acknowledgement of Kevin the door man and they made their way to the elevator, all the while Ryan took in the environment. It was high dollar and classy. He liked it. It was much too swanky for his wallet but he loked the atmosphere. They entered the elevator, and Ryan kept quiet. The soft elevator music annoyed him. How boring, elevator music should be kick ass. Makes the ride more exciting. He smiled to himself.
They left the elevator and walked to her condo. She let go of his hand and opened the door. She warned him about her puppy. He smiled. He loved dogs. "Don't worry about it" he said. They walked in and Ryan got a look at the inside of her home and was pleasently surprised. Her home was really suave. The decorations were very stylisitc and classy, with the piano in the corner caught his attention the most.
She left him alone in the main room and went to change. Ryan looked around with his arms crossed. He was very happy with her taste. He was about to walk into the kitchen when he spotted movement in the corner. He looked over quizzically and a little puppy strolled into the room. Ryan smiled and sat on the floor as Ella approached. Once she was close enough he pet her head. Ella got closer and closer until she was lying in his lap. Ryan loved dogs, he just didn't have the means to get one in his current situation. He scratched Ella's ear and belly, waiting for Adri to come back.
She smiled as she watched him interact with her dog. 'He's doesn't seem bothered at all...' she thought to herself, in awe of him. 'This guy is different that's for sure...and in a good way'. Adri smiling walking over to the two of them, "So Ella, you like him huh?" She said as the dog jumped up and ran over seeing her approach.
Picking up Ella she smiled rubbing her behind the ear as she waggled her tail at Adri. "I think I do too." She said softly with a smile to Ryan before she put Ella down.
Adri turned to Ryan. "So how about we start this night out on the town." She said with a smile, grabbing her keys and phone and putting them in her bag.

She picked up her puppy and had a little whisper with her. She looked over at Ryan with a smile, and made him think that she was talking about him to her dog. 'Thats adorable; Ryan thought.
She asked him to start the night. Ryan grinned and walked towards her. "Why, absolutely." He said. He walked to the door and opened it for her. "First stop for the night is Rockefeller." he ushered her out of her condo, taking her hand, and the two of them made their way back to the street. They left the building and Ryan nodded to the doorman once more. Once outside Ryan realized he never told her about himself.
"So, I went to college at Shenandoah University in Virginia, thats where I'm from. I moved from Virginia to the city a few years back with a friend." he smiled at the memories. "We had started a band, and we thought that coming to the city would help us get our music out there easier, but we had a bit of a falling out, and thats the end of that. I decided to stay, I had fallen in love with the city. My hometown wasn't me. It was too boring, nothing ever happened, a bunch of freaking cows everywhere... not my scene."
He thought about what he could tell her. "I, uhh... I played lacrosse in high school. I've played trombone for 10 years, and guitar for 5. I currently work as a music agent. I basically get gigs and keep track of everything for local bands hired by the record label I work for. It's about as close to "rockstar" as I'm going to get any time soon."
He figured he had covered about as much ground as she had. He turned to her. "Any more questions?" he asked with a smile. Her answer would have to wait, they had just arrived at Rockefeller Plaza. He lead her to the balcony overlooking the ice rink. They werent going to go skating, unless she wanted to. He thought it was a bit cliche'. He turned and leaned backwards on the balcony facing her. He let his question hang there, waiting for her answer.
As they arrived at Rockefeller at the balcony that overlooked the ice skating rink she smiled realizing something. "So we could have met before this. The PR firm I work for deals with the musicians from record labels all over the city."
He looked back at her his back to the rink. "My parents used to bring me here when I was little." She said looking down at the rink. She missed the times when she got along with both her parents. Then she remembered he offered to answer any other questions. "So what are your parents like? I mean I imagine they must be pretty great. They raise a successful, hardworking son who made it in the big city." She said putting her own back to the rink.
She was very impressed by him and everything he was saying and everything was saying just made her not want this to be the first and last time she spoke to him or even went out with him. Adri wanted this to happen a lot more. She couldn't keep her eyes off him as he spoke.
"My parents are amazing people. The two of them owned a restaraunt down in Virginia. They never really pressured me to take up the family buisiness, but I knew they wanted me to. My dad was not too happy with my decision to leave town and go to the city. He thought my friend was a bad influence, he always did. Because of this... friction i guess.... we havent spoken in a while." He paused a second to think about it. "Anyway, enough about that" he said brightening the mood. He looked up at the starry sky... or the New York attempt at a starry sky. All the lights in the city block them all out. "That is one of the only things I miss about Virginia." he stated. "The sky was... amazing at night." He said still looking up.
__________________________________________
Across the ice skating rink a woman stood with her friends. She turned and looked across the rink and spotted Ryan. He was with another girl. 'we just kissed like... 2 hours ago, and he's already on some other girl?' she angrily thought. She turned to her friends and said. "Hey I'll be right back." she said. She began to venture around the rink, heading for the man she kissed at Neon Blue earlier.
She shook her head to clear her thoughts as Ryan spoke about the sky. "Yeah, I never really got to really see the stars that well here. I bet they are really nice down south where their aren't that many lights." She said looking back at Ryan.
She looked at Ryan asking another question that had been on her mind. "So why didn't you try to be a musician, go solo? I am sure your good enough, which I want to hear your skills, by the way." She said looking at him.
Just as she said this she looked behind him she saw a girl staring at Ryan approaching from behind, she seemed to have an angry look on her face. She looked in confusion. "Uh Ryan do you know her through work or something?" Adri asked looking at the girl who was getting closer and closer.
He was about to say this when she brought up a different subject. There was, apparently a woman, coming to see them. Ryan recognized her and his blood went cold. 'shit' he thought. It was the girl he made out with in the bar, just before he met Adri. This is not good. He knew this wasn't going to end well, and braced himself.
The girl arrived in front of the two of them, looking enraged. She quickly slapped Ryan across the face. She pulled her hand back and began to speak... well... scream. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?" she screamed. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO CALL ME, AND INSTEAD YOU COME OUT WITH THIS TRAMP!!" she said turning to Adri. She then turned and walked away in a huff. Ryan rubbed his cheek where she slapped him, and could almost feel the hand print start to form.
He had no idea how Adri would react to that, he was in shock, and unable to speak.
'It was too good to be true.' her mind resounded as her face showed the betryal she felt. "You lied to me..." shd said gesturing to the paper. "You said you weren't looking for girls to be a notch on your bedpost....but you're just like the others. Trying to get as many numbers as you can...and I was one of the ones who really fell for it." She shook her head, tears filling her eyes in anger.
"I ... thought you would be different. " Adri said softly throwing the paper at him in her anger, she couldn't bring herself to slap him. "I can't believe I let myself start liking you." She said to herself, unintentionally speaking aloud.
"Have a nice life Ryan." Adri said wiping her eyes as she quickly turned away heading away from Rockefeller and Ryan. 'I just got played...and I bought everything he told me.' she thought to herself, 'He was obiviously lying. Too good to be true.' Her mind said. Adri never felt more betrayed...it wasn't often she let people in but she felt like she and Ryan had a connection...she trusted him.
Adri shook her head to rid her mind of the conflicting thoughts as she made her way down the streets of New York seeing as the evening was ruined.
He saw the tears welling in her eyes before he heard her speak. The first thing she said hit him like a freight train. "You lied to me." He was partially deafened from the punch of those words, He could see she was still tearing into him but he was comatose. He was unconsious with guilt. He stood there motionless as the barrage of her words hit him one by one. All he could do was mutter unintelligable half words. "Bu.." "I..." "Adri..." She wasn't having it.
She finished it off with a bullet to his heart. "I thought you would be different." His brain screamed at him to say anything. His heart screamed at him to do something. but she was already on her way out of his life. All he could do was say "Adri" as she walked away from him. He felt like his heart had been torn out and she was walking away with it. The only thing he could feel was the tears rolling down his face. He looked down at the paper. That paper that just destroyed his life. He dropped to his knees and grabbed it from the ground. He crushed it in his hand, shaking with grief. He cried at his own stupidity.
She smiled sadly at him, "Yeah neither did I...he wasn't what I expected." She said looking at the ground ruefully. The doorman looked at her softly with a distinct seriousness in his eyes. "Are you okay, Miss Scott? Did he hurt you?"
Adri shook her head. "No, of course not." She said defending him before correcting herself. "At least not that way. It was my own fault anyway."
She smiled gently at the doorman. "Thank you for the concern, Kevin." Adri said walking to the elevator and pressing the button for her floor. Once she made it to her apartment she used her keys to open the door and saw Ella on the sofa. "Hi Ella." She said softly as the puppy ran over to her with a waggling tail. "Well its just me and you again..."
Adri dropped her handbag on the sofa as she looked out the window in the living room. Everyone was on the streets still most likely heading to time square. "Ella you want to go for a walk?" She said going into the drawer and grabbing Ella's leash. 'I won't stay inside and mope just because I met a jerk who lied to me...' She thought to herself trying not to seem as down as she really felt. Maybe a nice peaceful walk through central park with Ella.
"Come on, Ella." She said scooping Ella up and grabbing her keys as she headed back out the door, not noticing she left her phone behind.
He looked up and realized he was near Central Park. He blinked and looked back down. Who cares where he goes. She won't be there. He crossed the street and enterd the park. He could hear the leaves crunching underneath of his feet. The cold air gave him a chill and he shivered as he walked past a couple sitting on a bench with their arms around each other. He left a trail of tear drops behind him as he walked past. Lucky.
He stopped walking and looked around the area, he had gotten a good ways into the park, and decided he was done walking. He picked out a lonely little bench in the corner and made his way over to it. He sat in the middle, and then pivoted onto his back. He put his hands on his head and stared at the sky. The stars were not out. The party was still going on all over the city. People elsewhere were with their loved ones. And Ryan was crying on a bench. "Hell of a New Years" he groaned.
Considering it was New Years Eve she wasn't so worried about being out here. It seemed pretty empty out here except for a few people heading in to Time Square. There were also a couples walking around. She had been walking for a a while, with Ella smelling everything around her when she heard a few rowdy voices.
Adri sighed seeing a group of guys in front of her going toward time square. "Hey!" Hey called his voice slurring slightly. "Where are you going?! The party's this way." He said pointing in the direction he and his friends were going.
Adri scoffed shaking her head and continuing to walk away with Ella. "No thanks...I am not interested."
"Aww come on you should hang out with us. A pretty girl like you shouldn't be alone out here." The other said stumbling grabbing her arm, making Ella growl from on the ground.
"I suggest you let go of my arm!" She said yanking it out of his grip.
He heard a voice refusing their party proposal. It seemed very familliar. No, it couldn't be. He shook his head, he was losing it, hearing voices? 'Get ahold of yourself' He zoned out once again but was brought back by a loud barking. Ryans eyes snapped open. "Ella?" he breathed. He sat up and looked towards the frat boys and his heart skipped a beat. She was here?
How? why? when? all the generic questions flashed through his head, but the only thing he focused on was the guy who grabbed Adri. He furrowed his brow and stood. He couldn't think straight, not that this was a change from earlier, but this time he was to focused to care. He walked over to the group. The man who grabbed her before reached back and grabbed her again. "Hey whats your problem lady? That wasnt very nice" He said. Ryan reached them and grabbed the guys arm. He pulled it off of her and threw it back at him. "You should get lost... now" he offered the man. He didn't seem to get the memo that Ryan was not to be messed with right now.
"Ryan?" She said shocked looking at his face, he seemed quiet angry. 'What?' She thought to herself. Adri had come here to get away from any thoughts of Ryan and here she was running into him again. Then she heard Ryan tell them all to leave.
"You can't tell me what to do...maybe the lady wants to come with us." She watched in horror as the guy threw a sloppy punch towards Ryan's face hitting him in the eye with force. "Ryan!" She cried out ignoring how she felt earlier, genuinely worried. She watched as the guy chuckled seeing Ryan stumble back from the shock of the hit. Adri rush over forgetting her anger at him briefly. "Ryan are you okay?" She asked concerned.
The drunken guy chuckled grabbing her again. "You should come with us, if your boyfriend can't take a punch...or defend your honor. You're way to good for him."
Ryan stepped in front of him, once again pulling his hands off of Adri. "Look, I'm gonna say it one more time, get lost, before you get hurt" He said calmly. He could alreadey feel his eye swelling. That wouldn't be helpful. This frat boy obviously wasn't having it. He chuckled and... threw the same punch as before. What kind of idiot... Oh, yeah. A fight.
Ryan lifted his left arm and blocked the right hook coming for his eye again. He grabbed the inside of the mans elbow with his other hand and spun underneath of his arm. He wrenched the now twisted arm straight up and heard a satisfying scream from the man. He kicked the guy in the back of the knee and he dropped. He pulled the twisted arm behind the mans back and pushed up. The man fell to the concrete quickly. Ryan then dropped the mans arm. He stepped onto the squirming mans back as the rest of his entourage fled the scene. Ryan rolled his eyes and stepped off of the man. He kicked him in the ear, a little harder than he should have. "Your friends are smarter than you are bud." he said. The man grunted in acknowledgement. "Happy New Year" He kicked him again and the man went unconscious.
He turned to Adri. He was sure his black eye was not too attractive. He was just happy to see her again. He nervously looked down at his work of art sprawled across the ground. "Uhh, are you ok Adri?" he asked.
Instantly the anger that once flooded her body returned, mixed in with her worry, sadness and relief leaving her a jumble of emotions she felt at once. "Am I okay? Yes Ryan I am perfectly fine. Sadly, I can't say the same for you on the other hand." She said gesturing to his eye. "What were you thinking starting a fight like that, Ryan?! They could have killed you, pulled out a gun or a knife...anything! This isn't the south Ryan, people do crazy things here. You can't just start fights..." She said looking worriedly at his eye.
She was about to reach out to get a closer look when she began to remember she was still mad at him and wanted nothing to do with him.
"I know you were trying to defend my honor and I thank you, but don't. I really don't need it from you especially or any other man, I can handle myself." She said looking at him as the negative feelings began to resurface. 'Leave now before you forgive him...he lied to you, remember' Her mind said soundly. She sighed looking at him one last time sadly before turning around in the opposite direction. "Have a Happy New Year, Ryan." She said softly before turning back towards home.
He felt a stirring underneath of him and looked down lazily. The frat boy appeared to have woken up. "Rise and shine" Ryan said.
"Uh..." the goon intelectually replied. Ryan needed to talk to someone, no one else was around. Guess who got the honor. Ryan tapped on the side of the guys head with the back of his hand. "Hey bro, wake up."
He struggled underneath Ryans weight. It wasn't much, and Ryan was sure the guy could lift him. He struck the guys thigh with his elbow, causing it to go numb. "Now now, lets calm down." Ryan said. The frat boy responded with a "Hmph" and stopped fidgeting.
Ryan looked up again and saw that Adri was finally out of site. Ryan sighed and looked at the guy. "What's your name?" he asked. He got a little unintelligeble "Chad." Ryan chuckled. 'Of course it's chad.'
"So Chad, what do you do when a girl is pissed at you?" he asked. He looked down and patted Chads shoulder. "Im sure it happens to you a lot" Chad grumbled. "Asshole"
"I buy her something expensive. And then im back in bed." Chad said with an approving nod.
Ryan raised an eyebrow. helpful... Ryan stood and looked down at Chad. "Thanks Chad, Happy New Year" He said, and once more kicked him in the head. Chad went onconscious again and Ryan turned around to leave the park, following the trail of Adri.
'Someone up there must have it out for me.' She thought to herself. Tonight had been the most drama filled night she had since high school. She met and amazing guy she thought she had a connection with, then had a breakdown after finding out he lied, and finally to be approached by bunch of rowdy drunks. She shook her head as she approached her apartment building she saw Kevin frowning at her.
"Miss, what are you doing back here?" He said disapprovingly. "You should be out at Time Square enjoying your youth." He said with a fatherly grin as he added. "Giving some lucky fellow a New Years Eve kiss?"
Adri smiled softly at the older man, who always took care of her during her time living in the building . "Regrettably, I don't have anyone to give a New Years kiss to...so I was just taking Ella for a walk and I was gonna take Ella upstairs."
"Miss Scott please, if you could do an old man a favor and go enjoy New Years at the Square?" He said softly. "I am too old to go out there anymore...besides I met my late wife out there on this night 40 years ago. New Years in the square always brings good things." He finished with a raised eyebrow
Adri looked at the man softly. "I would Kevin, but I have to take Ella upstairs."
"I'll take her up if you wish, or I could keep her down here." He offered easily
"But, I'll feel so strange being around all the couples whe-" Adri said trying to make up an excuse to let him down easily.
He grin softly at the young girl in front of him. "You know Miss... I have a feeling there might already be a lucky fella out there...he's just waiting for you."
She looked at Kevin, with soft eyes as he seemed to strongly encourage her to go. She felt kind of bad just refusing him, especially after seeing how set he was on seeing her bring in the New Years like him and his wife did. "Alright. I'll go-" She said making him chuckle warmly at her.
"Alright you better get going. Where getting close to midnight. I'll have Miss Ella here when you get back." He said as Adri made her way toward Time Square. She sighed looking up at the sky, 'Please don't let me regret this.' Adri thought to herself as she made her way down the crowded Manhattan streets.
He skidded to a halt in front of her apartment building. He doubled over, breathing heavily. Running from central park to Rockefeller will do that to you. He jogged up the steps and before he could reach the door it was opened by the door man, Kevin. Ryan nodded to him quickly and ran for the elevator.
"Hey there, stop. She left already"
Ryan slid to a stop. His body went rigid. He missed her.... He turned slowly and saw Kevin holding Ella, standing in the doorway with a kind smile. Ryan's sadness must have shown on his face because then Kevin said. "She is on her way to Times Square son." the man said. Ryan took slow steps toward him. "You might want to hurry," he said this as he checked his watch. "Youv'e only got ten minutes left before midnight."
Ryan nodded at the man. God must be smiling upon him today. ' a chance of a lifetime' Ryan opened his mouth to thank Kevin.
"GO!" Kevin ordered. Ryan obeyed. He bolted out of the building and onto the street. He took a hard left and ran down the street headed for Times Square.
Ten minutes left.
Another year same old her, she was still as as alone as ever maybe even worse off then before...she was broken hearted.
Soon enough she came to the barricade blocking off the streets leading to Time Square which, all too crowded with people. Adri made her way through the crowd as far as she could before she couldn't go any farther. She found a bench and stood on top of it seeing as she couldn't very much with all the people. As she stood on the bench she looked up to the ball and saw that there were 5 minutes left.
'If things had gone right....I would have been here with Ryan.' She thought to herself full of regret at the turn of events. 'Maybe I should have given him a chance to respond.'
Adri sighed shaking her head. "Its to late now...he's gone. You'll probably never see him again."
He looked at the enormous clock up near the ball. 12:58
"Shit!" he growled and pushed aside some black guy and his friend. He saw a bench on the side of the street that no one was using. He picked up the pace and vaulted off of the curb onto it. He now had a view of the entire Square and all he saw was people. Drunk, stupid, giddy people. He scanned the crowd and was getting more and more worried as time went on. He finally saw her. Well the back of her, but there was no mistaking it. It was Adri. She was standing on a bench much like he was, but she was facing the other direction.
He leaped off of the bench and landed in a group of people who immediately looked at him like he was stupid. He rolled his eyes and kept running. He chanced a look up at the clock. It had started the countdown. He pushed through everyone in his way. He felt like a real jerk for this but that guilt would have to wait.
45 seconds
Adri was pretty much across the entire Square. For future reference, never try and duck and weave through Times Square on New Years Eve. He was at the intersection, but the crowd only got thicker.
27 seconds
Ryan knocked many people over in his mad dash across the street. Adri had gotten down from her bench, but he hadn't taken his eyes off of her since he saw her.
13 seconds
Up until now no one had confronted him about his sprint, but he ran into a policeman. This policeman clearly had had enough of drunk idiots this evening. Ryan was grabbed by the arm and his momentum was halted. He screamed inside his head.
9 Seconds.
Ryan knew this was a bad idea, but there was no time. He wrenched his arm from the cop and took off running again. The cop was yelling something incoherant as Ryan dissapeared into the crowd.
4 Seconds
She was literally ten feet away. Between them, about thirty people.
3 Seconds
There was one wall of people in between them. Ryan's heart was about to jump out of his throat
2 Seconds
He pushed through the people and was right behind her. He grabbed her shoulders, and turned her around.
1 Second
There was a milisecond of confusion in her face, but He didn't care. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her.
The ball dropped, and everything exploded, everyone cheered, it was a wall of sound that is nearly impossible to describe, but it might as well have been a whisper.
She looked wide eyed, when she realized with was Ryan and suddenly his lips were on hers as the ball dropped bring the crowd to a roar. Adri ignored everything around them, wrapping her arms around his neck realizing there was no other place she rather be.
'Definitely Magic' she thought to herself, as everything else but her and Ryan faded away.
