Description

My Name is: Katherine Stone

I am the: Omega

I am age: 17

My mate is/I hope my Mate is: TBA

In human form I look like: this. Kathy is 5'6" with long wavy brown hair and dark green eyes. Her face is slightly angled with smooth and soft features. She has fair skin and a slender fit look. She always seems to have a distant look in her eyes as if she were searching for something important.

Image:Image

As a wolf i look like: Image

Personality: Kathy is a dreamer. She is a firm believer that life is a compilation of great adventures and experiences. She isn't much of the serious type nor is she the playful bouncy type. Her reactions to things are usually delayed and awkward. She's clumsy, always tripping on her own feet or landing on her butt when she loses balance. Kathy is quite imaginative and tries to find new things to do everyday. She's a big adventurer and will go random places according to the feeling in her gut which she trusts without a doubt. She isn't loud or argumentative so most people don't think too much of her or too little. She is great at disappearing since her quiet, low profile attitude makes her nearly unnoticeable in the room. She likes being alone to explore because she doesn't believe everyone else has as much creativity to match her constantly changing 'adventure' as she calls it. She sometimes looks mature and does take responsibility well, but she isn't too keen to take it up. She does as she is told only how it is told and usually doesn't do much to exceed expectations. She really doesn't want to face life itself, shifting, or the choosing of her mate. She just wants to fly away and do her own thing. Kathy doesn't like to be tied down to something and that's how she views her partner, as someone who will hold her down and keep her from doing what she wants or what her gut is telling her.

Likes: adventures, silence, swimming, daydreaming, dreaming, action, staring into space, sitting in a random spot in the forest, being "lost", cold, snow

Dislikes: how clumsy she is, limitations, responsibility, attention, fire, heat, arguments

How you feel about the pack: TBA

Other: Kathy sometimes runs into the forest and sits in a random spot. She likes the feeling that no one knows where she is and she can do whatever she wants. The freedom is almost like a high for her, but she knows she has to return to the pack. She's terrified of having a partner and just as scared to not have one. She just prays that whoever she ends up with won't hold her back from her 'freedom' that she holds so dear.

So begins...

Kathy blinked her eyes open and slowly creaked into a sitting position on her bed. It looked like a fairly cool, crisp autumn morning outside and the thought of it made her dive under her blanket again. She knew she had classes that morning and didn't look forward to the walk down to school, even though she knew it would get warmer later on. But she'd be in classes later on! Typical.

She hopped out of bed and wrapped a thick dressing gown around herself. She wasn't all that hungry for breakfast because she'd made sure she'd had her fill at dinner last night. That was the reason she had been so quiet while all the strange things were going on, and she'd hurried off to her room so as to not have to get involved.

Quietly she padded down to the kitchen and crouched in front of the cupboard where the cereal was kept. She never knew what she'd fancy each morning so she always had like five different boxes of cereal being worked on at any time! Her mother said it came from when she was a child - she had been one of those ones who would insist on her mum buying a cereal because of the free gift, and then losing interest in the cereal itself.

Once she had chosen she poured herself a bowl and made her way through to the lounge with her breakfast and a cup of tea.

Reina calmly munched on her dry cereal as the chaos around the house began to diffuse. She’d been listening closely to the Chaos involving Dante and Jac. From last night and this morning she’d figured out that Jac and Dante were fighting, and Dante felt that Jac betrayed her. From this morning's hullabaloo she'd also gotten a hunch that Gavin might have a crush on Jac. Reina grinned, it was information that she would definitely use against him. Perhaps she could manipulate the situation for her B-day prank. The information Ray had was a good start, but she was naturally curious and needed to know more if she wanted to create a large enough amount of trouble. She finished off the last of her cereal and placed the bowl in the counter, she would have to do some detective work later on in the day. Perhaps she'd skip some of school to go back to the pack house while people were out. She could rifle through drawers, build that rope of clothes, and set a few traps.

Glancing at the clock Reina realized she was going to be late for school unless she got someone to drive her. She smiled and poured herself another bowl of cereal. She had a record of Tardiness, ditching, and suspension. She wasn’t going to arrive at school on time if she could help it. She glanced around the kitchen to see Duncan and Kathy still there. Duncan wasn't a surprise but Ray was a little confused to see Kathy; she wasn’t usually the kind to be late for school.

Trying to look inconspicuous Reina turned to block the clock from Kathy’s view. Then, a thinly masked grin on her face she turned to Kathy and asked, “Kathy, how ya’ doing on this fine morning?” Ray almost groaned, she needed better conversation questions. She’d completely forgotten her mental note not to ask people how they were that she'd set for herself last night. But, the damage was done, and she wanted to distract Kathy, so she waited for Kathy’s response.

Ares looked up as the beating didn't come and he quickly grasped the book and held it in front of his chest protectively. He gave the Alpha a quick apologize and a deep bow then left with James and walked into the kitchen. There, he saw the girl he had angered yesterday and he looked at her fearfully, unsure of how to act. But she didn't seem mad, she had even apologized to him yesterday. But it was all his fault. Ares guessed he had to come and apologize for not shaking hands with her, too. There was also another girl there. Hesitantly, he took a step forward and stuttered "...I-I..."

He took a deep, shaky breath and tried again, this time managed to speak a full sentence without stuttering "...I'm sorry for yesterday..." He looked at his hand, unsure if he should offer his hand to her but he had promised himself yesterday that he wouldn't be such a weakling anymore. Taking another deep breath, Ares mentally counted '...1...2...3...4...' and when he seemed to calm down again, Ares pressed his eyes tightly shut and thrust his hand forward "...IamAresItisapleasuretomeetyou..." He said as quickly as he could and then blushed bright red as he realized he just spoke in a none-exist language. He fidgeted uncomfortably and waited for her answer, his eyes darted back and forth between James' form, the other girl's form and Ray's form.

Kathy blinked and looked up at Reina. She’d gone into total daydream mode alone in the lounge with her cereal. She still needed to get dressed and get ready for school, but it didn’t sound like anybody else was rushing. “I’m alright Ray.” She said, “Happy birthday by the way. I saw on the calendar when I was making breakfast. Don’t try and pump me for information about any party because I don’t know anything.”

She stood up and put her bowl to the side. Her head had practically gone to sleep again, and she stretched up tall to work out the tiredness with a small yawn. It was difficult to know what Reina was up to half the time, but it could be that she was being especially nice because it was her birthday and she didn’t want to annoy anyone before she had their presents. “What are your plans? You walking down to school in a minute?”

“Oh, my, my don’t tell me if guys get to…clingy…you might go all big brother on me.” Gavin caught the worry behind her mask of playful teasing.

He shrugged passively, "Not exactly." Jac pulled him back down to the ground and let him fall. He huffed and shook his head. Women. Standing up again, he brushed the dirt and grass blades off his shorts. While Jac headed off to school, Gavin grabbed his coffee and her empty mug, and went inside, hoping to get a few games on his computer before he had to go out. On his way up, he gave Kathy a wave and said a quick congrats to Reina on another year conquered. Parts of his mind still on her, Gavin washed her mug and put it away.

"Me either!" He said right after Kathy about the party. Then he mentally kicked himself, but supposed his and Jac's being gone wouldn't upset the balance too much, Calvin had a basketball game tonight, anyways. "I know nothing of a party."

In his room, he booted up his computer and took another gulp of coffee. Nectar of the gods, it was. His eyes fell on his backpack, thinking about what was inside of it. He chewed the inside of his cheek. The whole thing was bothering him... He considered confiding in Calvin- but was completely unsure how he'd respond. On one hand, being in possession of such a feminine thing would undoubtedly draw a laugh. On the other hand, it was a pack-related matter. If one girl knew her mate, others were bound to follow.

On the nightstand, which is backpack was leaning against, his phone erupted into a violent lightshow of vibration, and danced around in a galore of rapid taps. He saw that he had missed four calls- undoubtedly from Blondie. Gavin pushed the call to 'busy' and texted Calvin: "Got something to show you." Gavin was a social being, he couldn't really keep secrets... And he didn't want to involve Jac. After he sent it, the damned thing rang again. Annoyed and angry, Gavin shut it off and threw it on his bed.

Around noon, he finally quit playing games- over all, happy with what he accomplished- and jumped in the shower. After he changed, he grabbed his backpack and swung it over his shoulder, ran downstairs. There were still a few things he had to do before tonight...

“Himynameisares” Reina turned to Ares as he thrust his hand out to her. She smiled, it was kind of funny, and he was practically shaking. But, nonetheless, she appreciated the gesture and the courage it probably took him to do it.

Reina reached out and shook his hand, talking just as fast, “HimynameisReinabutpeoplecallmeRayandwe’vesortofalreadymet.” Smiling some more she resumed talking at a normal human speed, “Pleasure to meet you too, and as for yesterday, it’s fine. I should’ve maybe, probably, most likely, sort of been more considerate.” Reina tried to smile at him in her least mischievous way, afraid of sending him into a panic attack once more.

“I’m alright Ray. Happy birthday by the way. I saw on the calendar when I was making breakfast. Don’t try and pump me for information about any party because I don’t know anything. What are your plans? You walking down to school in a minute?”

Reina turned her attention to Kathy as she answered Reina’s question. Ray grinned mischievously, Kathy had no idea. She shot a knowing look at Ares and turned so that he could see the clock and Kathy couldn’t. After all, she’d promised not to prank him for a month and she supposed that meant she couldn’t purposely cause him to be tardy.

Reina shrugged in response to Kathy’s question, “I dunno, I’m not really thinking about how I’m going to get school quite yet. Figure I’ll get there when I get there.”

Reina paused before continuing, “As for a party, I already know all about it Kathy. You guys have no idea how many places in this house have recording devices.” This was a complete bluff, Ray knew nothing about a party and or gifts, and she’d yet to install bugs into the house. She glanced sideways at Kathy, hoping she would take the bait.

“HimynameisReinabutpeoplecallmeRayandwe’vesortofalreadymet.” Ray said and Ares blushed furiously as he realized even if he had just spoken practically a none-exist language, she could still understand him. He sneaked a glance at her and blushed brighter again as he realized she had a very beautiful and confident smile. Even if she looked about his age, she was ten, no, a hundred times more confident than him. He felt some sort of admiration and another different feeling mixed together when he looked at her. Her hand was also very soft, he had found out about that when she shook his hand.

'Awww...look like little Ares is growing up...I'm feeling so old...' The wolf part teased him and Ares almost snapped defensively, almost. He ignored it and focused on Ray again. He would deal with it later. It looked like the closer the full moon was, the more talkative his wolf would get. And the more open he would often become, too...

“Pleasure to meet you too, and as for yesterday, it’s fine. I should’ve maybe, probably, most likely, sort of been more considerate.” Ray spoke and Ares shook his head frantically "...no, n-no...it w-was my f-fault...I s-shouldn't p-panic l-like that...y-you w-were only t-trying t-to be n-nice..."

He listened to the other girl - Kathy or something if he remembered her name correctly talked to Ray about a party of some sort and Ares got curious. He opened his mouth and hesitantly asked "...u-uhm...i-is y-your b-birthday t-today?..." He didn't really want to pry into other people's conversation but he felt he needed to know it and tried to get her some presents. He hadn't had the chance to personally come to many birthday party, seeing that his Father usually beat him into a bloody pulp the moment he opened his mouth and asked but he heard that friends and acquaintances often bought presents for their friends in their birthdays. He fidgeted nervously and waited for her answer.

Kathy didn’t quite know what to make of Reina’s remark. She’d been telling the truth when she said she knew nothing of any party that might be taking place, and Ray’s mention of knowing what was happening actually gave her a sense of relief that someone had remembered to organise something at all. Wolf communities were so tight knit that it was easy to assume someone else was taking care of that sort of thing. So she smiled and relaxed, smiling at Ares also. It would have worried her that the house was bugged, but she wasn’t sure how serious Reina was being about that. Surely Adrian would know wouldn’t he?

“Oh good” she said “Well try to act surprised anyway all right? I’d better go and get ready.”

She walked up the stairs and into her room, changing into some skinny jeans and a button blouse at a leisurely pace, and picking up her school bag, checking that all her books and everything she would need was inside it. She was still a little sleepy from her daydreaming session in the lounge, even though she’d had a good night sleep. However when she reached for her coat she looked at the alarm clock and nearly screamed. She had to be in class in exactly two minutes!!! Why hadn’t she realised the time sooner? Cursing to herself, she scrambled her coat on, grabbed her bag and shot down the stairs. She saw the look on Reina’s face and realise that the girl must have been deliberately distracting her. But there was no time to complain about it. She should have known Ray was being talkative for a reason.

There was no way to avoid being late, but hopefully she could run the whole way and look like she had at least tried to be on time.

Ray chuckled as Kathy frantically rushed to get to school. Sure, trying to get info on the party had been a bust, but she still had the fun of watching Kathy freak out. Reina didn’t quite understand why exactly she liked getting people mad; she just kind of went with it. As far as she was concerned, fun was fun no mater what. Even if that fun was rather, unorthodox.

“Is it your birthday?” Reina turned back to Ares as he asked her a question. Pausing a moment to return the situation around her she replied, “Yup, It’s the big one six. I’ve been trying to figure out if anyone’s doing anything but, unfortunately, I don’t actually have the house bugged.” Reina sighed and looked at the clock on the stove.

Turning to Ares she said, “Hey, I’ll see you later. I told myself I’d show up for at least the first half of school today. See you around.” Ray tossed her empty dish in the sink and meandered over to the back door where her backpack was. She hadn’t bothered with doing any homework so it was all packed up and ready to go. Shooting Ares a wave goodbye she strolled out the door and started a slow stroll to school.

Kathy enjoyed the long walk back from school, bobbing her head lightly to the music in her ear buds. She was looking forward to the party tonight. She was one of the younger girls in the house herself, so she shared Ray's excitement at the whole deal of growing up and the kind of thing that each passing year could bring. Especially since Ray was turning sixteen. That was quite an exciting age whether you were a werewolf or a human.

Walking towards the house Kathy saw Jac and Gavin standing outside looking like they were about to go somewhere. There was something slightly cutesy and unusual about the way they were with each other. Gavin always seemed like such a tearaway that it was strange seeing him like that. She wondered what they were doing.

"Hello" she greeted them as she walked up "what are you up to? Aren't you staying around for Reinas party later?"

The very thought of riding on the back of her bike gave Gavin a horrible condescending streak down his spine. Few things were quite as unmasculine as riding on the back of a chick's motorcycle. Even if the chick was as hot as Jac. Gavin grinned and shook his head, letting out a small laugh. "No, but thanks. We're going to walk. I usually walk over there- it's only about fifteen minutes away."

*EDIT: His attention was pulled away with the sudden arrival of Kathy and Reina. He smiled at both of them. Kathy asked about Reina's party. Admittedly, Gavin had forgotten about the party entirely. He wished he could make a promise to attend, but he couldn't.

"Going to a human party." He grinned at her. "Jac wants to check out some human culture. We'll come home in time to stop by for her party, sure."

He suddenly felt itchy, almost uncomfortable being around them. What if one of them had given him the rose? What if she wanted to tell him before he left? Nope, that wasn't going to happen. He shuffled his weight around nervously, but didn't want to seem too eager to leave. As Reina entered the porch, Gavin shot her a friendly grin. "Have a good birthday, we'll swing by your party later. Um... you're welcome to come along with us, if you want."
[end edit]

With that, Gavin opened the screen door and looked over her shoulder to be sure she caught it on her way out. He strode down the steps and made his way across the lawn into the woods. Twigs snapped beneath his weight, freshly fallen from the trees overhead. He was going down one of his own made trails- mainly because he was the only one who headed this way. He knew it like the back of his hand.

"So I should tell you about some people." He started, stepping over a large branch that had fallen in the middle of the trail. "Ryan, Rory and Blondie."

"Ryan is really chill, he's sort-of like the host of all these parties. Always insanely high, in fact, I don't think he's ever not. But he's really good at reading body language and intervening when needed." There was a part in the path where a stream had once broke it in two. But since then, it had dried up and left a huge, moist ditch. Gavin stepped through it, making his already worn-out brown sandals more dirty. "Blondie, she's probably going to hate you the minute you show up. She has a thing for me, thinks we were dating or something. I told her I was bringing you, referred to you as my girlfriend, hope you don't mind." He added the last part passively, like it wasn't a big deal. He hoped she didn't mind.

"And then there's Rory." He sighed with a chuckle. In front of them now were massive boulders that they'd have to climb over. Gavin took care of where he set his feet and where he grabbed it, so Jac could see and follow him. He pulled himself over with ease. At the top, he held his hand down to Jac if she needed it. "Rory thinks he's a werewolf. He calls them lycans, it's a lot easier to just go with it than convince him otherwise. He's bringing a lady-friend, and since he's aware of the full moon, wants me to be around in case he goes crazy or something."

Finally the trees began to thin out and the soft rushing waves of water could be heard. The sand lightened and became oddly warm as the land gave out to a beautiful horizon and vast, dark blue water. The air smelled like heat and salt, with a hint of smoke coming from the west. That was where the bonfire was supposed to take place. There weren't a whole bunch of people there yet, but Gavin liked to arrive early and help with setting things up.

Kathy blushed, a little embarassed that maybe she had put Gavin in an awkward position by mentioning a party that he wasn't going to. She smiled and nodded affirmingly.

"Oh that sounds quite intresting. Maybe we will see you later then." she watched as Jac and Give moved away, and walked into the house, smiling at Ray and wondering if she'd heard any of that. She still didn't know exactly what was happening for Ray's birthday, but it was usually just a loose come and go sort of party in the pack house so it was probably something like that.

"How are you doing putting bugs around the house?" Kathy laughed. "Shall I give you your card and present later when we see who else is about?"

Not knowing exactly what was happening Kathy had no idea how much of an effort she should make to dress up, but there was always a chance her parents would stop by and they always made a point of telling her she should do more to make herself look nice to make it easier to attract her mate when the time came. Didn't they remember that it was just fate's design who ended up with who?

Ray had decided not to go to the party with Gavin and Jac. She had guessed that the invite was probably due to protocol more than anything else. Besides, large parties weren’t really Ray’s forte. As she waited for a response from James and Dante Ray’s small attention span was distracted when Kathy walked up to her. She didn’t wait for a response, a normal action for her. She just turned to engage in conversation with Kathy.

"How are you doing putting bugs around the house?" Kathy laughed. "Shall I give you your card and present later when we see who else is about?"

Ray shrugged and ate another spoonful of peanut butter, “I don’t have enough money for quality bugs, apparently if you spend your money on a cage one month you can’t buy bugs for recording the house the next.” Finishing of another spoonful of peanut butter she figured it was probably time for her to stop eating if she wanted to still be hungry for dinner.

Ray walked over to the sink to put back her spoon. Then she jammed the top on the peanut butter jar and returned it to the fridge. Her “cleaning” completed she returned to Kathy.

She made puppy dog eyes and said as sweetly as she could, “Well, we could wait to see who else is around. But I think people are just going to pop by soooooo…. You could give me my present now…” Reina smiled innocently. Patience was not a virtue she possessed.

Kathy chuckled nervously at the way Ray seemed more intent on amusing herself despite the fact that it was her birthday. She played with her hair and stuttered. "Oh, well yes I suppose if you think..."

She was glad when Anya came in and broke the moment. She thought about possibly getting some food herself, but it shouldn't be too long before people started arriving and Tai always had good things prepared.

"I hadn't thought about what I was going to wear," Kathy said, her fingers fidgetting, "I suppose I'd better go and find something! I'll bring down your present after I've ready Ray."

She ran up the stairs to her room and closed the door behind her. At least some other people were talking about dressing up for tonight, so that gave her a clue. Filtering through her wardrobe for a while she picked out a dark blue tunic dress, and put it on over boots and leggings. It was pretty close fitting, but Kathy wasn't the curviest girl in the world.

She crouched on the floor and reached under the bed, sweeping her arm underneath until she located the present she's wrapped two nights before. Thankful that it was really there and that she hadn't just imagined preparing it (that would be typical of Kathy) she pulled it out and listened at her door to see if other people were arriving.

Kathy noticed an absence of voices in the hallway and made her way downstairs, lookig around. It seemed like people had dispersed into the other rooms. She could hear people in the kichten, people in the library, even people out on the porch. But nobody in the dining room where the party was supposed to be happening! She had the present tucked under her arm, and thought it would be safest to lay it out somewhere so Reina could find it herself. That way she couldn't 'get it wrong' about giving it to Ray at the wrong time.

She walked into the dining room where everything had been rearranged to make room for all the people that would be coming that evening. Where were Adrian and Tai though? Surely the music group must have finished by now. She was sure she had heard Duncan's voice though, so there was at least one person in the house who knew what was going on. Following the sound of that voice, she found Duncan in the library with Anya.

"Uh hi!" Kathy said. "Any idea where Adrian and...oh, Anya I love your dress. The cloak is interesting, are you going for a theme?"

Ducan was surprised at Anya's comment about how they made a good couple, he smiled almost laughing but decided against it since she seemed embarrassed that the comment had slipped out of her mouth. Duncan didn't really notice it but a small tinge of red flushed his cheeks he also looked to the ground " yeah for the party" he reassured her giving a soft smile to her.

He turned to Kathy and shrugged " I wouldn't know kath he's probably picking up Tai from class" he replied

Anya didn't miss the flush in Duncan's cheeks. But before she could comment on it, another voice entered the library. Turning slightly, Anya smiled at Kathy. She looked all ready and set for the party to commence as well. Were they really that early? Frowning, she glanced at her silver watch. No, things would be starting soon. So where was Tai? Music Class would have finished ages ago. Glancing at Duncan, she arched an eyebrow in question, but he didn't seem to know where Adrian was either. Perhaps she was looking into it too much. They were probably on their way right now with nothing to worry about. Snapping back to attention, she smiled again at Kathy.

"You look great Kathy! But, Ray said it was fancy dress, I'm Little Red Ridi-" She cut of mid-sentence and pulled a face. "I've been tricked by her haven't I?" Rolling her eyes in a humored way, Anya unclasped the cloak and threw it over the arm of one of the chairs. Reina was known for her tricks and she should have known better than to go with it before asking someone else. Smoothing her dress down, she cleared her throat, ready to voice her fears. They could amount to nothing, or she could be right. The Alpha female

"Tai should have been back by now," Crossing her arms over her chest, she frowned at the pair. "Music class would have ended a long time ago. Do you think they've been caught up with something?" The Alpha Male and Female should have been home already. With all this talk of rouges in the area, strangers who didn't belong, it was worrying that they had yet to show up.

"You aren't too shabby yourself, miss." Gavin teased back at Jac before heading into his bedroom. He wondered what in the world he was going to wear, but then decided that everyone there knew him- he wasn't trying to impress anyone. So he threw on a pair of white shorts and a solid green shirt.

Jac's kiss had lingered already longer than he intended it to. His wolf had emerged from its corner and started snapping at him again, teasing him, taunting him. Then suddenly it stopped. Do what you want, you're a poor excuse for a man anyways. You can't even comprehend reality.

Gavin stood still, sinking in the truth his wolf had just laid before him. For the first time in a long time, he wanted to hear more of whatever it is that his wolf had to say, but his wolf, stubborn as ever, remained silent.

He had intended that kiss to be his final release of the tension between them. Gathering up his resolve again, Gavin left his bedroom. Jac was still no where to be found, but he heard some sounds coming from the library so he headed down there in time to catch Anya throwing off a red cloak.

"Hey guys, you heading out to the party?"

Kathy giggled as Anya took the cloak off. Obviouslt Ray had been up to her tricks! It was good thing she hadn't tried to prank Kathy because she would totally have fallen for it too, and probably come dressed as a fairy or something.

"I'm sure they will be back soon." she said, "I hope so anyway because I'm starving! I heard some of the teachers from the community school will be coming tonight so I want to make sure I eat before any of them catch up with me."

Kathy didn't really have anything to worry about. She did ok at school, but her clumsiness could sometimes get her in trouble there as much as at home. Which meant that she sometimes got more than her fair share of the teacher's attention!
