Throme - a bustling capital city. A metropolis famous for its stunning lights and higher education. An urban paradise some call it, with at least one thing that appeals to everyone. A melting pot of cultures all set melded into one society. However, beneath the world of glamour and prosperity, of hope and dreams... there is a darker secret. The beauty of the city is merely a mask. Scattered throughout the city are the agents of a dark organization that goes by the name of Itex. Hidden from the eyes of the general public... their power extends far beyond the streets of Throme... but here, in this grand city is where they thrive. Their base.

Who are they? What are their purpose?

There is a small group of people that wants to find out.

Well before that, let me tell you a little story. Once upon a time, there was a strange object called the Grace Stone. It was one of those strange things that never came into existence - it was always there. How it came to be is unimportant... what mattered was that it did exist. It was a peculiar object, the size of a small orange, and a very boring gray in hue. One might have thought it a simple rounded stone... but of course, the Grace Stone was far more than that. In its whole, smooth and polished form, it could grant a person's most heartfelt wish. After its job was done, it would shatter - crack and disperse into hundreds of tiny fragments, and scatter throughout the world. That is the not at all well-known legend of the Grace Stone...

However, there was one person who heard of it, and they had ambitions so great, they sought to complete the fragmented Grace Stone... and thus, we are here today.

Ah, but that's not all to the tale now... we still have the Masks to discuss. Like the Grace Stone, t'is not why or how that is important... simply that it is. In modern times, there are many who are unsatisfied with who they are. The image of themselves differ from who they want to be. They want to hide their true self, shy away from it... don the mask of someone else. Now, how they are chosen, no one knows, but a rare few have their wish granted. They come into contact with a Mask, a manifestation of that character they wish to be. Should they happen to don the mask, they will find their own personality overwhelmed, overridden, and become a new person. Should they happen to utter those words that echo in their head... they will find themselves completely, and utterly transformed. Abilities, both unrealistic as they are wonderful, are granted to these new forms. The mask not only creates a new personality... it creates a new being. The Person and the Mask, two completely different entities merged into one body...

Now, how are these two tales related? Well, I'm not at all that sure, but for sure, they are connected in some manner... otherwise the present wouldn't be quite so muddled.

On a date lost through the mists of time, but not all that far behind the present, the one person developed a true mask and discovered how to use it. Soon after this that they learned of the legend of the Grace Stone, and how long ago it was shattered... and how the whole stone was said to grant a wish. Somehow this person managed to get a hold of a rather large fragment of this stone, and upon realizing its existence, founded this dark organization known as Itex. Maddened with power and pursuit of their demented dreams, the Founder sought others who shared knowledge of such, and learned of two other people who, over time, were deemed The Emperor and The Sun. Both possessed a true mask of their own.

After gathering supporters, through the abilities granted to The Sun by their mask, the Founder created various 'false' masks for the newer recruits of Itex. By breaking the single shard they possessed into several smaller pieces, Itex learned to use the Grace Stone's special properties for its own purposes... false masks only being the start of it. Using that single shard, the organization was able to find more shards and eliminate those who opposed them with ease. The organization is ruthless and cold, and they use any means necessary to collect the fragments... However, there are some obstacles that are not so easily removed...

Such as an irritating group called the Masked.

There was once a man called Arthur Torrings. He became principal of Cenriel Academy, a well known private school offering education to grades six to twelve. The campus consisted of a main senior high building, a junior high building, a gymnasium, a music building, a soccer field, a swimming pool, and the gardens. Yes, it is a rather beautiful and expensive school to attend, but he enjoyed being a part of its community. A year passed in peace, and Torrings was well accepted as the principal. However, there was an incident. One of his students was attacked by a masked Itex agent. It turned out that the boy owned a fragment of the Grace Stone, which had ended up in his hands by pure circumstance alone. Through this, Torrings opened his eyes and saw that students in Cenriel Academy owned masks... a small few, but still some. Realizing that something had to be done, he gathered these students into a small group, a student council in guise, but here he taught the young owners of the true masks - and the Grace Stone fragment owner, of Itex and the masks. However, Torrings never revealed how he knew of such things. He called this group the Masked, although they were presented as the student council to everyone else.

One day, Torrings suddenly resigned from his position as head of school. An unknowing but professional substitute was quickly found. However, finding his sudden resignation strange, the Masked decided to find visit him... to find that he had been attacked. Although bleeding profusely from a wound at his stomach, the former head of school managed to call a mask of his own, and used his last words to bestow it upon the boy with the Grace Stone fragment. Before any explanations could be given, he passed away.

These students' lives were never to be the same again.

... Or in simpler terms, our plot is about the Grace Stone, Itex, and this small group called The Masked. It will mainly focus on the lower ranks of Itex and the lives of the Masked as they go through their interactions. There will be times of tension, when agents of Itex and the Masked confront each other, and times of peace as they go about a normal Throme lifestyle.

Unlike some other roleplays, in here, the roleplayers will learn several things along with the players - after all, who exactly are the higher rankings of Itex? What relation did Arthur Torrings have with the organization? How far does their power reach? Where are these fragments of the Grace Stone now?

What will happen?

You will find out as your character does, and hopefully experience similar emotions along the way and get the most out of the roleplay experience. There are many directions to go - you could aim for the Grace Stone or aim to take down Itex. Whatever you do, the story will be greatly affected.

This roleplay starts about a year after the death of Arthur Torrings. The four members of the Masked have now been facing off with the lower Itex agents for a good nine or so months. In this time, they were approached by a woman called Liesel Moringmer who claimed to be one of the remaining anti-Itex members, the same as Torrings. She assists them in their battle against Itex... and it is now a week into the new school year. The autumn air is crisp and cold.

Note, that along with the struggles against this wide-spread organization, The Masked really do have to take care of all student council duties, including class budgeting, organizing school events, enforcing consequences, and more... ah, what a stressful life. They are not exempt from testing or classes either. One special privilege the 'student council' receives would be exclusive access to the greenhouse in the garden. It's a lovely place for tea, with perfect temperature in all seasons.

Ah, but then there's a new student, and they have a mask as well. This person is to be accepted into the 'student council' as well, or Itex might get to them first. The Masked have a position all ready for them, The Joker. They know nothing of this new student's mask, but they cannot afford to let any more innocents fall under Itex's influence. Already, others have fallen victim to the Itex's promise of granting their most heartfelt wish should the Itex succeed in gathering up the fragments of the Grace Stone... the Masked cannot allow this to happen to The Joker...

PLEASE NOTE: THE PLACES TAB WILL BE USED. FOR THE SAKE OF PLOT AND KEEPING THINGS COHERENT, WE INSIST THAT YOU POST IN THE PROPER PLACES.

This is because with Itex and the Masked having access to different information, it will be discordant and confusing if we have everything posted in one place. Thus, we have decided that it would make sense to use the places tab that we have available. It will be less confusing if we actually click the place we are in, and see all the posts posted in that area. In that way, Itex and the Masked can have seperate encounters without muddling the plot.

The city of Throme is an ever-exciting place to live. The streets are always teeming with activity, and there is rarely an idle day for any of its citizens. There are more peaceful suburban areas near the outskirts of the city, but the heart of it is an urban paradise. In the shopping district, the greatest fashions and styles line the streets. Clothes, electronics, everything is modern and stylish. The ever-famous Damon Ito, Throme's own international star, frequents the billboards and advertisements in not only the shopping district, all throughout the city. It is said that he'll be performing in a musical later this year. This youthful star's face frequents the Throme News Station (the most reliable source for current events) - yes, the one with the overly cheerful reporter, Megan Mariot, and the never-right weatherman, Kenneth Park. If you want to be prepared for the weather, always do the opposite of what he suggests.

Back to the upcoming musical, the famous award-winning actor, Damon Ito is costarring with popular R&B singer Emma Matia to bring the citizens of Throme a spectacular show they won't want to miss. However, there are of course, the rumors that Damon Ito is dating the model, Noel Delari. Ah, and then there's our resident fantasy writer, Micah Faret. His new novel is set to come out soon and is rumored to be another upcoming bestseller. The plot seems to be about someone who inadvertently gets trapped inside a puddle. He is quite famous and very popular, but he rarely makes public appearances.

On a different note, moving away from celebrity affairs, the city has recently elected a new mayor - Ms. Aline Cosette. If anything, the woman is enthusiastic and determined to help the city to thrive. She is an intelligent young woman with a new perspective, and she well-represents the heart of Throme's identity: stylish, chic, modern, yet prosperous. She is trying to support the Metropolitan Police Force and bring them back up to standard. Even a wonderful city like Throme has the odd crime now and then. Her office is in City Hall, which is a large and grand building that serves many purposes. In fact, in just six months, representatives from nations all over the world are to gather there in order to discuss matters of international importance - a conference between the nations. Ms. Cosette is to take part in this as well, and many are eager to see how things will turn out.

Another popular site in Throme is Cherry Grove Park. This is public space full of flowers in the spring and colorful trees in the fall. In the center of it is a beautiful plaza with a large and ornate stone fountain. Little children like to play in it in the hot summer days. Off to the side is a wishing well - it is said if you toss in a coin and make a wish, it will come true. There is a surprising collection of coins glittering at the bottom, but it is difficult to see from the depth of it. On weekends, a fortune-teller sets up her tent a ways off from the fountain square. She is young, beautiful, and dresses no differently than any other citizen of Throme, but she claims to have accurate readings. Her specialty is Tarot cards. Despite her normal appearance, she calls herself Madam Butterfly, refusing to divulge any other name.

There is one major museum in Throme - the Museum of Throme Art and History. Here, there are various displays of artwork, sculptures, and various historic replicas of the city's development. Fittingly enough, there is a new exhibit opening in a few months where the main attraction seems to be a mask. Rather ironic, no?

Lastly, of course, there is Throme's multi-purpose and undeniably grand shopping mall. It is not just a place to shop - there's the shopping district for that, at cheaper prices - but it also serves as a recreational center. There is a video game arcade, a movie theater, a book store, an ice-skating rink, restaurants, a concert hall, and even a theater for stage performances amongst its floors. In fact, Damon Ito and Emma Matia's upcoming musical is said to be using this revenue. One thing to note is that on weekends, there is a clown that comes and sells cotton candy and balloons by the escalator of the first floor. He calls himself Easter.

Basic:
All masks possess the power to change the personality of a person - but they all differ in what the innate personality of the mask is. When wearing a mask, the bearer's personality no longer exists and cannot change the actions of himself while wearing the mask. They, however, still gain memories of the time, so they do know what they did while wearing the mask. All masks cannot be broken through normal means.

There are two stages in wearing a mask. First, if one just puts on the mask without saying the 'code phrase', they retain their normal appearance, yet their personality reforms itself. Their existing skills may be enhanced, such as heightened speed or strength, or they gain a talent for a new area of skill, such as cooking. However, there are no outrageous abilities developed. When one utters the indicated 'code phrase' as they don the mask, they will undergo a full transformation - a new appearance, a new personality, and abilities that are as unrealistic as they are wondrous... it is unscientific. It is unexplainable. It is the magic of a Mask of the Soul...

... and perhaps a little bit of the Grace Stone.

False Masks:
These masks were all created by The Sun, and therefore can be given to anyone - civilian, Itex, or Masked, as long as the mask possesses a singular shard of the Grace Stone. The only way known to break False Masks is by using three shards of the Grace Stone or using the power of The Sun mask... However, the mask is lost. No one is sure where it is anymore. As for the destruction of false masks, be warned. No one is sure what happens when one is destroyed.

True Masks:
No one really knows how these masks appear, but they do, in various stages of completion. Although no one knows exactly how, they seem to appear to those who are unsatisfied with their own personality. They create an image they wish to be, a personality they want to be that is so strong... it manifests itself as a mask. One day, they will simply find it there, collecting dust in a familiar location, as if it had always been there, waiting. Should the person choose to put the mask on, they will immediately feel their own personality being overridden. They will be conscious of this, but not aware of the consequences this might bring. They will hear words in their head, and should they utter them, they will find themselves in a newer, more fantastical form.

However, this mask is merely a crutch - an often extreme embodiment of the person they wish to be. Essentially, it is the outward mask that they want to wear and show the world... albeit, a little exaggerated. The problem lies in the fact that the more dependent a person is on their True Mask's personality, the less control they will hold over the mask. Essentially, it would be a battle against the mask's will and their own, but as their individual personality is not as strong, they will lose.

As long as they depend on the projected identity of the mask to be happy with themselves, they will not be able to control it - the mask's personality would control the owner instead. Thus, only by becoming a stronger individual can a person control their own True Mask. As they become truer to themselves and accept themselves for who they are, the owners will gain better control over their mask's personality, and the True Mask will develop to further help its owner.

It is important to note though, that all of the above only applies to the first owner - the creator of the True Mask. Once it has been gifted to someone else, the mask is unable to develop from that point onwards. Another thing to note is that there are very few True Masks left. There were few to begin with, but due to Itex in the past, they have become increasingly rare. While the dark organization still had the power of the Sun's mask to help them, all existing True Masks had been destroyed or coerced into gifting their mask to an agent of Itex. This caused problems as the masks have a strong bond with its creator and suffers a great weakening of power if it is gifted against the owner's will. Thus, these weakened masks were of no use to Itex who promptly destroyed them as well.

If a True Mask is not gifted before the owner dies, it will 'fade out' of existence upon their death.

The Grace Stone is a grey, average-looking stone with a strange ability. If you can possess the complete stone, it can be used to grant you your greatest wish. Due to this, after one person manages to collect it and makes their wish, the Grace Stone breaks and scatters its shards across the world. It's only the size of a mandarin orange but is split into hundreds of shards, each easily confused with an average stone. The only way to find out if it is part of the Grace Stone is to completely submerge it in boiling water - if it emits a bright and colorful light, you have successfully found a shard. Fragments of the Grace Stone retain special properties that can be applied to masks. If a True Mask is gifted from one person to another, the receiver can only use the mask if he or she possesses a shard of the Grace Stone. The Sun Mask could use these fragments to create False Masks, and additional ones added after creation could alter the mask's personality, although not the abilities it has. Using a shard on Masks makes them stronger, although the benefit only lasts for a few days, at the very most, before the mask becomes unstable and forcefully ejects the shard. The mask needs a cool down of a month is between uses, so this method is not to be used except in the most dire of circumstances.

Your GMs reserve the right to not accept any applications that are not up to their standard. Please make them detailed. If you want to become one of the Middle or Higher Itex, please PM one of the GMs first to work it out. Only skilled and trusted RPers will be allowed to do so - but they will not be getting quite as much air time. If you do so, it will be your secondary character. However, do note that an application for this position will only be accepted after sufficient dedication has been shown. You will know you have been accepted, when you receive a PM with information regarding the Itex or the Masked. If we don't accept it, we will give you a PM with information about how to get it up to standard. Your GMs will give you a total of two chances to improve it, but after that - we're sorry, but we really can't accept you.

Rules

1. Follow all the standard rules of RolePlayGateway - this should be obvious...

2. Our posting requirements are as follows: it must be sufficiently detailed, original, and interactive. Each post should move the plot of the roleplay forward by some small extent. If your posts seem weak compared to the rest of the writers, your GMs (Nivosity, Alasund De'astio, Cienpher) will be sure to alert you ^^

3. We understand that not everyone is the best when it comes to grammar. All that we ask is that we see a visible effort. No blazing malapropisms, no obvious spelling or punctuation errors, and no internet/text jargon is sufficient. It is not at all that difficult to run your post through a word processing program for spell and grammar checks. Please do so, or your GMs will be forced to ask you to leave.

4. Please, we beg of you - no godmodding. This includes, but is not limited to, controlling the actions of a character that is not yours, using knowledge obtained as a roleplayer as your character, overpowering your character, and refusing to let anything negative happen to your character. Please have your character react accordingly to their circumstances.

5. That being said, please make your character original! No one enjoys a cookie-cutter personality... take the time to give your creation life. Make it so that you would be able to pluck them out, set them down, and see them make it off into the world. If an insufficient character profile is submitted, your GMs will give you two chances to bring it up to our standards. Two is our final word.

6. All complaints of any sort, be it of the plot or another roleplayer, are to be directed to one of the GMs. They will deal with the situation accordingly. There will be a strict GM-Player privacy arrangement, and all relaying of suggestions will be done anonymously.

7. Please, no swearing or graphic language unless there are very, very severe circumstances in the roleplay to allow it. Remember, these words are better emphasized when used sparingly.

8. Please, please, please read and participate in the OOC. A quiet OOC thread is boring... but also, there is often vital information that could be discussed there. By joining, you are expected to read the OOC thread, please ^^"

9. Anything else that is common sense but we might have forgotten in the process of making this. Use your head and judge your own actions, please.

Notes:

A large thank you to Shinku122 for the roleplay that inspired this idea, and giving us permission to use names from it! More thank you's to the artists of the pictures we have used, but we apologize for not being able to quote your names! One last thank you to those who read all of this and feel interested enough to join!

Also, please do realize that your character has a high probability of dying in the later phase of this roleplay. After your character dies, there will still be ways that you can still participate in this roleplay, just discuss it with your GMs.

Aki Evedane; Cherry Grove Park

The red leaves from the maple tree swayed gently in the breeze as Aki Evedane leaned against its rough, brown trunk. Placing his right hand in his pockets nonchalantly, he waited for the teacher to stop blabbering about this or that. Looking around, he saw the rest of his wandering about the park - as well as other families with young children. “So, as you see, this park is a very important place for us. It provides a place for people to relax and to meet others from all around the city. This park shows you that here in Throme...” the teacher droned on and on. Aki shrugged his shoulders as the teacher looked pointedly away from him. 'Heh. So those rumors have spread this far...already. I didn't think she'd know about them a week into the school year. Tch... there goes my hope for starting anew without them floating around.' “Now, then any questions?”

Aki gave a slight smirk as he stood up straight. Quickly removing his right hand from his pocket, he lifted his hand in the air - looking at the teacher as he did so. Ignoring him, the teacher called on another student. Aki allowed a small, slight pleased look to appear in his eyes. 'It seems that I can do anything I want to do now. Even the teachers are started to ignore me… just how I like it.'

Fingering a silver box that he held in his left hand, he glanced around - waiting, no, yearning for something to happen. The week before had been relatively peaceful, even his followings of the Maskies hadn’t amounted to anything. 'There had to be something deeper about this mask - and the world that has created this mask… where did it come from? How did the sender know who I was? Where I lived? And why me? Why did I end up having this mask in the first place?' Just then, his ears caught the sound of something going on in Fountain Square. Looking that direction quickly, he saw a crowd of people holding cameras, surrounding a tall, slender person. “I wonder who that is…” murmured Aki, heading towards that direction. "It must be someone important."

“Aki, where do you think you’re going?” asked his teacher, hands on hips. “I’m not done with my lecture, you know? 'Ah, poor history teacher… it’s not as though I didn’t know this stuff before. You went through it all yesterday.' He gave a slight sigh, annoyed at the interruption. 'Who knew why she even bothered with this...'

Aki looked at her with a slight frown. 'How strange - is she going to pay attention to me now?' “Bathroom,” he muttered quickly, before striding away. 'There really was no point in having a conversation with the teacher. No, no, there wasn't.' He ran the fingers of his right hand through his black hair, making sure that it was neat. It was - he didn't really need to check, as it always was.

“But the bathroom is over the-,” he paid the adult no heed. 'If she was going to ignore me all of the other times that I wanted her attention, she may as well start turning a blind eye now.' Without a pause, he continued to head towards the interesting stuff. 'I'll just go and see what's going on over there, and then, I'll be coming back.'

“I am going to the other bathroom,” he stated callously, going to see what it was all about. 'Maybe it was Damon Ito or maybe, just maybe, Micah Faret, finally coming out of his house for the first time in weeks.' Smiling to himself, he watched the other families remove themselves from his way as he strode over there. He did, indeed, intimidate most - maybe it was his injuries. Well, it was true that his arms hadn't healed yet. It must have been a week since his mask had healed that injury, but it still hadn’t faded. Aki craned his head over the crowd to see Aline Cosette, Throme’s mayor. He gave a sigh, before turning to go back to the class. 'So it was Ms.New Changes Mayor this time…' His curiosity sated, he decided to go back to the mundane activities of today. Heading back to the teacher’s lecture, ignoring her reproving look, he went back to his tree. Settling down to give a semblance of listening, he gave a large yawn. 'Something’d better happen soon…' He reached in his pocket and took out a pink pill - his customary cherry-flavored painkiller - and popped it in his mouth. While eating it, he continued to listen to the mindless blabbering of his teacher.

Zensa Valobo

A breath of wind stirred Zensa's silvery hair around while he sat cross-legged on an open stretch of grass in the park. The sun's warmth enveloped him, putting him at ease. It really was a perfect day for this type of field trip. The morning's forecast for heavy rains for the duration of the day had, once again, been proven false. In his mind, he thanked Kenneth Park's horribly inaccurate weather forecasts. He had hoped that the rest of the week would have "heavy rain". This kind of rain was the kind he liked best. He thought about how long Park would last if he continued to muck up the weather forecasts when he realized that his left foot had fallen asleep.

Awkwardly standing up on his throbbing foot, Zensa looked around at the various people in the park. He saw the different classes, clusters of teenagers standing around a lone adult, many families, and couples. The occasional jogger or dog-walker wasn't uncommon as well. Although he did wish some of the walkers were a little more astute in what their charges discharged. Several different types of birds could be seen perching in the trees above, observing the passerby below them. He looked around for his diffused class, trying to remember where they were told to be. Their teacher had already finished their lesson and had given them permission to enjoy the park, but to try to remain in a certain area. His teacher, Dr. Howerton, was reading a book on a park bench where he told everyone to meet when the trip was over. He saw his various classmates stay together in clusters, some of just friends, or the few couples that could be seen. One seemed to be getting close to too much for the public eye, but it wasn't his business.

A few minutes passed, with Zensa watching the various passerby. He had become fairly certain he had seen every social demographic that was possible. Goths, punks, preps, artists, exercise-enthusiasts, jocks and even the occasional wannabe-gangster. Whenever one of those went by, his right hand twitched involuntarily. They reminded him of his old neighborhood. Punks. Of no use to anyone. If only they'd all just disappear. He remembered their bullying. Their teasing. The way they made him feel like dirt. If only someone would just waste them.

So waste them. Do it.

Zensa felt his heart skip a beat. It was that little voice in his head that tempted him to do bad things. The one that's normally supposed to be really loud when there's something you really want to do but aren't able to. But his talked back. For now, he ignored it. Sectioning those feelings off for another time. He returned to his people watching, avoiding to look at gang-bangers. He readjusted his sunglasses one more time before lying down on his back in the grass. Another slight gust of wind made his hair dance slightly. It was so relaxing that he started to drift off to sleep. I wonder what today will throw at me.

Dante sat in the shade of a tree, leaning against the tree's trunk quietly. He was sitting quietly as he read his book, not paying much attention to anything outside of his small personal world. I can't believe he decided to stop traveling just because he thought I needed to get a proper education. I was doing fine with him teaching me. This is just stupid, I don't want to be here....I mean we were going to visit China next, he thought to himself quietly as he read. A small frown appeared as he thought. His teacher had dismissed them, allowing them to wander the park until the field trip was over.
Dante set his book down quietly and pulled out a small, simple, brown box, opening it to reveal a small black mask with a gold trim around the edges and a simple gold design. He quietly traced the design of the mask. Why in the world did I recieve this mask? I'm no one special, and I don't see the point in the mask. I'm probably the only person in the world with this kind of mask..., he thought, setting the mask back into its box and setting the box back into his bag, picking his book up once again.
He ran his fingers through his dark brown hair slowly, giving a small sigh, returning to his book quietly after looking at his watch to check the time. He had about an hour and a half left of the field trip. Maybe Mark will let us start traveling again if I don't make any friends... Dante began to read as the sun beat down on him through the leaves of the tree. He grabbed his waterbottle and took a small drink without taking his eyes off of his book. Setting the waterbottle down he turned the page of his book.

Oskana Sonnen ~ Cherry Grove Park

The blue of the sky mirrored the blue of her mood; the lazy drifting of the clouds that dragged their shadows along the ground in the same fashion that a child would drag their safety blanket mirrored the very moments of Oskana dragging her feet along the cobbled pats of Cherry Grove Park as she, with great reluctance, followed her class. Mr. Bowning, the teacher she was under the supervision of continued with his avid speech describing the grand history and founding of the park, embellishing his words with extravagant hand gestures. In her opinion, Mr. Bowning was trying much to hard to be interesting--an opinion that seemed to be shared with her fellow classmates.

At long last, the tour that seemed to have lasted for eternity ended at a small clearing with a lesser fountain the the center surrounded by picnic tables. Families of loving parents and energetic young toddlers gathered around the edges of the fountain, occasionally dipping their fingers into the restless waters as they enjoyed a lunch brought from home. Oskana was almost jealous, why couldn't everyone be a part of this perfect, picturesque scene? Instead of enjoying little cucumber sandwiches and chilled milk as the happy little families were, the bright-eyed bushy-tailed Mr. Bowning decided it to be an excellent time to hand out a scavenger hunt. A 'fun activity' he called it. Oskana wanted to roll her eyes but the gaggle of girls to her left seemed to represent the class attitude so well that she almost felt pity for Mr. Bowning. Almost.

Oskana supposed she should be grateful for such an assignment. Now there was nothing keeping her from wandering the park for the remaining duration of the field trip. She glanced past the fountain to a vacant spot near the manicured hedges and well-kept gardens. It was such a shame that Madame Butterfly only came on the weekends. The woman was fascinating and her predictions per individuals were so personally accurate that, despite visiting her nearly every Sunday for the past eight months, Oskana has yet to have find her secret.

Tearing away, Oskana let her feet lead her down the familiar paths of the park. A light breeze swept through the area, her gray-cotton dress fluttering against her knees. The trees swayed and bowed as she passed, lives singing and branches dancing as they greeted her familiar presence. A patch of grass was deemed acceptable and Oskana plopped herself down onto the lawn. First kicking off her shoes and rolling around until finding a comfortable position, she then took a survey of her surroundings.

To both her left and right, two paths weaved their way through the natural gardens and aging trees, converging into a single path and leading south to fountain square. Even from here, Oskana could catch the sounds of a rush of people who were all asking questions at once. Funny how reporters worked. Years and years spent in school and the most prominent skill regarding respect was the raising of the hand to ask a question. Now, blinded by the rush to get to the news first, the rush to capture and entice the public's attention, the rush for money, they had all forgotten that simple skill regarding respect.

Oskana closed her eyes allowing the sounds of the park to fill her mind as static so she may muse about this phenomenon for a bit longer. She had time. A few minuets of musing wouldn't hurt anyone. In fact, if she somehow found some hidden courage that was lost under her eyelids, she might even see what all the commotion is about in the first place.

Gage Vandergear | Cherry Grove Park

With hands stuffed into the depths of his pockets, Gage looked around into the eyes of his fellow students around him, his own sharp and blue. As if they had all been struck by the same spell, each person's eyes mirrored the next sporting a dull, glazed over look with a mix of boredom and apathy. Mr. Bowning's mouth was moving and his hands flailing around as if someone the gesture would help keep the classes attention. Eventually, after his lecture was through or perhaps he figured out no one was really paying him any attention he finally assigned a sort of scavenger hunt. Like many of the others, Gage took the assignment as an opportunity to wander off. It wasn't to often that they got to come to the park on field trips and during the fall when the leaves had already begun to change and before the weather got too cold, now was the prime time to enjoy brisk air and colorful scenery of Cherry Grove Park. In the blond male's case he would enjoy the scenery at least until he meandered far away enough to take a decent cat nap...

To his right a ways were a group of reporters smothering the mayor, ahead was the remnants of a slowly drifting away class and a Mr. Bowning looking over a checklist. A quick glance to the left and the eighteen year old spotted an easy route away from all the commotion and into a sort of semi circle of trees. He made a b-line towards the circle however not appearing to be in any rush. Gage took languid steps, his sort of slouched posture matched his emotions at the moment which just so happened to be an easily identifiable feeling of boredom. Weaving through the stray students and random individuals roaming the park's grounds, long legs took long and easy strides and the senior managed to make it to the semi-circle unbothered.

Safely at his desired destination, his backpack slid from his right shoulder and thudded to the ground and Gage's butt soon followed as he took a seat beneath one of the trees. He stretched out his legs, and lay back, arms moving beneath his head acting as a makeshift pillow. Chest rising and falling with a suddenly contented exhale, his eyes fluttered shut in a relaxed state. Now was a great time for a nap, and despite being alone he felt someone confident in the daylight and relatively public setting that those damned belled shoes and eerie laughter wouldn't prevent him from enjoying his free time in the park.

Lucas Toland; Cherry Grove Park

The autumns of Throme were always so refreshing – at least, that was Lucas’ opinion. The air was crisp, and the temperature was just right for his liking. The trees were always decorated with the most vivid of colors, making Cherry Grove Park as much of a spectacle as it was in the spring. Lucas was sitting on the grass, in a patch of fading green free of the dry, crackling leaves scattered about the park. The teacher’s lecture on the significance of the park faded into a dull hum as the boy fiddled with his cell phone. Every now and then, he anxiously glanced up to make sure the teacher wasn’t looking his way or talking about something they hadn’t already covered. In truth, Lucas felt somewhat guilty – after all, as the supposed president of the ‘student council’, he was supposed to be setting an example… but he was contacting someone rather important as well. It was times like this when he wished he could concentrate on multiple tasks at once…

"Liesel, are you sure about this? Where’d you get the information?" Even over text messages, Lucas was rather particular about proper grammar. The phone vibrated quietly in his hand when the reply came.

"When ur an adult, kid, Ill let u know. Meet u brats @ the greenhouse 2day." The recipient of his messages, however, was clearly freer with her text messaging abilities. Lucas scowled in slight disapproval… really, he’d expected that as a scientist and an adult, Liesel would be a little more careful with these sort of things. Then again, the scientist always did exceed his expectations in the least approvable manner – at the thought of the happenings the irresponsible adult sparked in the past nine months, Lucas sighed… just the thought of it tired him out…

Then, hastily, Lucas sent a quick reply of affirmation before smiling at Ms. Lyall, who mentioned something about a scavenger hunt of sorts. It seems the other teacher, Mr. Bowning, had dismissed his class before hers. Seeing as Lucas hadn’t listened, he was a little at a loss for what to do. He concluded that the best course of action would be to do what the others did… and wandered off along with a couple other students. After all, he needed to find the other members of the Masked and tell them what Liesel said. However, there were quite a number of people in the class, and a surprising number of unfamiliar faces. It was only the first week of the school year, but Lucas hoped to be able to put names to faces by the end of day. Was there anyone… he didn’t recognize?

He noticed Gage wander off to a small alcove of trees – from the looks of it, settling down for a nap, so Lucas decided to stop by him later. A bunch of people had shuffled towards the growing crowd near Fountain Square, trying to see what all the fuss was about, but he couldn’t see any of the Masked there… although there were some familiar faces, such as Jeanne Haden or Kato Kobayashi… a girl that Lucas vaguely remembered as… Oskana? The problem with being in the ‘student council’ was that he didn’t have the time to actually get to know his peers. Maybe for now, since he had a rare bit of spare time, he should take the chance to meet new people?...

There were far too many to approach though… and that’s when Lucas noticed a lone figure beneath a tree. The sunlight streamed through the branches and crimson leaves, creating an atmosphere of ambience around the area. The boy sitting in that space seemed preoccupied by a book. ’It must be a rather interesting one if he’s so absorbed,’ Lucas mused. ’Perhaps one of Micah Faret’s works?’ If so, Lucas had probably read it before. Deciding to take the chance, he cautiously approached this unfamiliar boy… and then tried, “Hey, what’re you reading?”

Dante was reading his book quietly, happily content with the fact that no one was talking to him, and that he didn't have to interact with anyone. “Hey, what’re you reading?” Dante looked over quietly out of the corner of his eyes at the kid who asked the question, taking in a tall light-haired boy. "Entwined," he replied quietly, not wanting to really talk with anyone. Of course, I don't know why I'm suprised. This always happens. Mark why could we have not gone to China first? he thought quietly, a slight bitter under-tone to his thoughts. He reached into his bag to grab his bookmark. As he did so, he pulled the small brown box out of his bag, setting it down next to him gently, so that he could see into his bag better.

Finding his bookmark, he marked his page and closed his book; and put both the book and box into his bag. Giving a small sigh, Dante ran a hand through his hair, and looked around the park for a few seconds before looking back at Lucas, "You're our Student Council President, right?" Dante gave Lucas a small smile, holding out his hand, "I'm Dante Toseletti, I've just moved here." With his other hand, he discreetly pulled the flap of his backpack over the box, hiding it from view. Why am I hiding my mask? Its not like he knows what's in it...right? he thought quietly as he smiled at Lucas.

"It is a pleasure to meet you. Sorry if I seem anti-social at all. I never really had a chance to talk with many people growing up; I was always traveling so I'm not completely used to talking and socializing with people," he said quietly, giving a soft nervous laugh as he scratched the back of his head. "Throme seems like a nice place though."

Locke Kingston \/ Cherry Grove Park

A mind-numbing sensation overtook Locke as his teacher continued her speech even after Aki interrupted. If there was anything he hated more that disrespecting people it was crippling boredom. Why doesn't she take the hint and let us free already. No one cares about what she has to say. This thought skipped through Locke's mind as his attention drifted towards the light blue sky. A daydream slipped over Locke's mind, the teachers words becoming nothing more than mumbles and incoherent noises. His mind slinking back to the old day of playing catch with Monster.

"Locke... LOCKE!" A voice broke him from his pleasant dream-like memory. Locke's teacher called his name again in her annoyingly authoritative voice as his eyes narrowed and darted over to the teacher. "Were you even paying attention?"

Locke glared at the teacher, obviously he didn't wish to speak to her. "No," he answered in an obviously annoyed voice. "Not to be disrespectful, Miss, but you are boring," his tone switched from annoyed to almost matter-of-factually.

The teacher seemed to turn red, but not saying anything to Locke, she returned to her lecture. Locke cursed under his breath as another thought of, 'Is she ever going to shut the hell up?' crossed his mind. His eyes slipped back into their glazed over state, and he returned to his daydream memory.

Locke pulled himself up after the long-winded speech of the Grove from the teacher. He was really tired of her yapping and the only time he was even half entertained was when Aki played her for a fool, but he was also annoyed by the lack of respect that he shown her. He shook his head with a half relieve sigh. Oh well, it's over and we can do what ever we want now. Right? He looked around for the teacher among the green grass and tall, swaying trees. When he spotted her, she was obviously no longer interested in the class.

The wind kicked up for a moment, causing the leaves to rustle quickly as Locke strolled absent-mindedly through a path way in the sunlit park. The path he walked on was mostly deserted, the silence was a much welcomed aspect. His eyes shifted slowly over the trees and to the sky, taking in all the wonderful sights and colors that autumn painted on to Cherry Grove Park. His face remained as stoic as ever, even if his mind couldn't help but enjoy the visuals.

Aki Evedane; Cherry Grove Park

”No,” stated a boy in Aki’s class. “Not to be disrespectful, Miss, but you are boring,” he continued on to say in a truthful, blunt voice. It shook Aki out of his reverie before he looked alertly around. 'It is always nice to know that someone who will just come out and say the truth - he seems interesting enough.' Turning his blue eyes towards the speaker, Aki noticed his strange colored hair. How strange - blue-grey… After a brief cursory glance, Aki hid a slight amused twitch of his lips. 'No wonder he is so slight and fragile-looking. There was no need for the boy to use a weapon if his tongue was so sharp.' The teacher turned red - bright red.

Ms. Runa Lyall, the history teacher, kept blabbering for a while - ignoring the blank, glazed-over stares of all of Aki’s fellow students around her. Aki hid a slight frown as he saw the Student Council President fiddle around with his phone - wasn’t he supposed to be a good example to everyone else? “So, class, have fun with the scavenger hunt, and the first person to finish it gets a prize. That’s all there will be time for before it’s time to dismiss you all from school. Have a wonderful weekend!” she said, in what was supposed to be a chipper tone. She was obviously annoyed though; maybe it had something to do with the earlier statement.

The class quickly dispersed, the President putting down his cell phone to follow the crowd. Aki sighed and with an annoyed smile started to stride off from his tree. The sun’s heat beat down on his mercilessly, and he mopped his forehead with a handkerchief from his pocket - still holding his silver box in his left hand. Reaching to put the handkerchief back, his hand dislodged his roll of bandages, and the roll fell to the ground. Aki gave a deep sigh as he bent down and picked it up. He froze when his fingers grazed the white surface of his bandages - there was a pair of feet in the distance. 'Strange… I wonder what’s going on...'

He glanced at it before looking back at the piece of paper in his hand. 'Which is of a higher priority?' With a frown, he ignored the feet and took a glance at the paper - the scavenger hunt he had gotten from his teacher. Sighing to himself, he placed his mask on the ground - it was quite hard to write while holding it. Aki quickly scratched his answers into the blank space on the sheet before bending down to pick his second most important possession from the dirty ground. That done, he walked off to find his blabbering teacher - who had seemingly disappeared. Seeing her bright silver blouse, he walked faster, spotting the guy who had made her red - the Blunt Guy. He vaguely recognized the classmate on his way. Rushing up to the teacher who was enjoying a walk, Aki handed her the sheet as she stared at him blankly. “What’s this for?” she asked.

“The scavenger hunt, madam. I’m done,” murmured Aki quickly. Her face blanched when she looked at the carefully written answers which were all in his meticulous print of a handwriting.

“Aki, you’re supposed to visit the various parts of the park in order to fill it out. I am afraid that due to your cheating, I won’t be able to give you a prize,” she murmured, annoyed. She was no doubt wanting to go back to her peaceful walk through the park instead of dealing with him - they always did.

“Miss Lyall, I already knew the answers. And the prize is of secondary concern, as always. There is no need for a prize,” murmured Aki in reply before leaving abruptly. He had things to do… his pace quickened as he saw a nice half-circle of trees where he wouldn’t be bothered by any of his annoying classmates. Closing his eyes in anticipation of the peace and quiet, his foot caught on something, and he suddenly lurched to the ground. He gave a huff of annoyance before again before looking back to see what obstacle was in his way.

It was the feet from before.

He blinked once, twice, before he realized what had happened. In his reverie, he had tripped over someone - and quite rudely at that. This someone possessed black hair and was wearing a grey dress - a girl? From school perhaps? Lifting himself up from the ground, he brushed the dirt off of his pants quickly before offering his right hand to the girl. “I apologize. Ot was a mistake on my part. Would you accept my condolences?” He waited for her reply, inwardly seething. 'When was I forced into interacting with these people? … My hope for being alone ruined…' An aloof smile pasted itself on his face - his customary expression. 'I’ll wear my mask tonight and have a nice walk. The roofs of the skyscrapers are far emptier than the street. At the very least, I’ll be able to have some peace and quiet then.' It was then that he realized he was still holding his silver box with his mask inside… in plain sight. Moving it adeptly behind himself, he hoped that the girl didn’t realize. It would bring him unnecessary attention and curiosity as most did not own a mask in his school. Peering more closely at the girl, Aki Evedane gave a slight blink of relief. 'She's not one of the Maskies, so she shouldn't know the importance, but if she tells them... that will be the end of my peace and quiet.'

Blithe Verday ~ Cherry Grove Park

Same park. Same speech. Same teacher. Same scavenger hunt. If repeating a year was going to be this boring, perhaps being a senior would have been better afterall. Shifting her weight from one foot to another, Blithe attempted to pay attention to Ms. Lyall to the best of her abilities; but the woman was not lending any assistance in the girl’s attempts. The only interesting difference this time was a boy wandering off for a moment and Locke’s one-on-one conversation. ‘Of course, leave it to him to give the honest to goodness truth.’

A grimace crossed the blonde’s face as she read over the scavenger sheet more carefully, confirming her fears were indeed correct. It was the same sheet as last year; identical all the way down to the same Font type used to print it out. Slumping her shoulders a little, Blithe grabbed her messenger bag off the ground and slung the strap over her neck to rest across her chest, the dream catcher keychain swaying with each movement as she walked in any random directions to avoid the larger groups teaming up for the hunt.

Blithe kept her gaze toward the ground as she walked through the green grass beneath the trees, their shadows casting ripples of sunlight and shadow with each breeze. There really was no point in worrying about a silly scavenger hunt, right? Silly was all it was. Even though working in a group would be more interesting. And dangling the answers under the others' noses for fun… That had a long shot of happening though. With the people she new or had anything to do with for that matter, she just simply couldn’t see any of them going for it. It was easy enough to work with other members of Itex, but some of them honestly… worried… her a bit.

As Blithe walked around the trees, leaving her attention far behind as she thought, she froze suddenly in her tracks as movement caught the corner of her right eye. Turning her head slowly to see what it was, her eyes widened at the sight. There, sitting amongst the grass; with its blank gaze and threatening crouch… was a frog.

Taking a cautious step backward as not to startle the grassy inhabitant into jumping, Blithe kept her movement slow before turning tail and running towards a lining of more trees. Once reaching the break in them, she finally stopped and checked the ground around one of the shade’s base before flopping down with no regard to her bag; it’s contents had survived being tossed from her bed to the floor plenty of times before hand.

“Of all things, why couldn’t it be something like a cute bunny. I’ll even take a field mouse. But Nooo, it had to be one of them . And here it is the sunny part of the day and the blasted thing is still out!” she fussed to herself while digging through the bag next to her for a book or something with Apps, whichever decided to show itself first. Sighing at the empty results of shuffling, Blithe slipped the strap back over her head and plopped the bag down in front of her for a better hunting position; the scavenger hunt would just have to come in last place while she conducted her own searcj inside her bag. Looking around to make sure no teachers were in sight to spoil her plan, her gaze stopped abruptly at the figure sitting against the tree not far from her own. ‘Brilliant, and here I was raving like a mad woman! At least he’s not in my class… wait a second… “Um…. Sorry ‘bout that whole… well… Sorry for disturbing you, I didn’t realize someone was here.” Trying to hide the embarrassment wanting to show on her face, Blithe started to close her bag to leave the guy in peace, the side zipper sticking as she nervously tried to cover the delay of absence with small talk; yanking the zipper all the while. “You’re Gage, right? I think we had a class together last year.”

Gage Vandergear | Cherry Grove Park

With the lack of sleep Gage got most nights due to creepy Ms. Jingle Bells, naps had become a staple in his day to day life. Often not just one nap but multiple cat naps; A half hour here, half hour there, a full hour if he was lucky. Today however, he wasn’t very lucky. The opportunity had seemed promising enough. They had the rest of the day to wander about for a scavenger hunt, something he didn’t plan on doing, not that he couldn’t simply figure the answers out easily enough. Honestly though, Mr. Bowning had long since gotten used to him not handing in assignments, especially ones as pointless as this one. When the exam came around, he’d ace it and still get an A in the class. Digressing though, the time in which he could have spent doing some useless assignment had been dedicated to a good hour or so nap, only to have it interrupted – and not just by a classmate.

Never words. Merely laughter.

Having dozed off fairly quickly, Gage fell into a dream that proceeded to transition into a nightmare. He was stuck in the middle of a crowd, trying to push his way through. People were crowded around some kind of main attraction and were making his exit rather difficult, yet at the same time they didn’t seem to even realize he was there. Circus music filled his ears and gave him a headache and sent a shiver washing over his body like a wave. He maintained composure however and continued to shoulder through the crowd, determined. Just as he thought he’d reached an exit a slew of new, enthusiastic arrivals flooded into the big top and he was caught in the flow like a salmon trying to swim upstream. He quickly began to notice now, that all of the people wore masks. Not the kind of masks he and the other kids at school wore, but painted on masks. Each and every person surrounding him now sporting a creepy, caked on smile. His anxiety and discomfort were starting to show, rearing their ugly features on his face. Widened eyes, tensed and clenched tight jaw, and shaky hands were only just the start. Then Soon he was being bounced about like a pinball until finally with one last shove he was now in the center circle, as if he had become the main attraction. By now Gage’s stomach was bubbling with fear and adrenaline that rapidly being pumped through his veins and to each and every extremity. Habitually he began biting the inside of his cheek until it eventually bled, and his heart was pounding loudly against his chest when the laughter began.

Ice blue eyes darted around the circle that caged him trying to pin point which one of the perpetually laughing faces was actually laughing at him. Remaining silent, the only noise Gage made was his labored breathing as he desperately tried to assess the situation, and find a way out. No matter how hard he tried, rational thought wouldn’t come, and his mind was far too focused on finding the source of the laughter. Suddenly though the sound of a few little jingle bells could be heard bouncing around and everything clicked. He knew where the laughter was coming from, or at least from whom – yet he still couldn’t pin point where she was in the crowd. Then, unexpectedly he heard a voice that shook the large tent of the big top and dispersed the crowd of clowns. All that was left was the familiar cackling and eerie face of the Fool laughing at him from a distance, still bouncing on the balls of her feet when he woke up.

“Of all things, why couldn’t it be something like a cute bunny. I’ll even take a field mouse. But Nooo, it had to be one of them . And here it is the sunny part of the day and the blasted thing is still out!”

Eyes shooting up and instantly straightening into a sitting position, Gage’s browed furrowed with obvious confusion. The fool never spoke to him. Never. And now that she had…what the fuck did it mean. Why couldn’t it been something like a cute little bunny? He didn’t think he would ever understand what that meant, if it meant anything at all. All he knew was that even in sleep, the Fool haunted him… Finally breathing and exhaling a breath he hadn’t known he’d been holding, the blonde senior let himself lean back against the tree as his heart attempted to calm itself down. Shutting his eyes a moment, he ran a hand up his face and back through his hair when an oddly familiar voice knocked him out of half asleep land and brought him crashing back down into reality.

“Um…. Sorry ‘bout that whole… well… Sorry for disturbing you, I didn’t realize someone was here.”

Eyes blinking open yet again, they flicked over towards the voice slightly surprised but not quite showing it. Usually aware and alert, Gage inwardly grumbled to himself that he’d been caught off guard and subsequently blamed it on the nightmare he’d just had. Without a word, he proceeded to quirk a brow at the pretty blonde's already embarrassed complexion and watch as she struggled with the zipper of her bag for a moment.

“You’re Gage, right? I think we had a class together last year.”

Not to surprised that she recognized him, being on the student council and all, as well as apparently having had a class with her Gage lifted his gaze back up to her face as he pushed himself off the ground and onto his feet, bag over his shoulder all in one smooth motion. In three long but slow strides, he’d crossed to the other side of the little alcove of trees and crouched beside her. He subtly tongued the raw inside of his cheek before speaking. “Don’t worry about it.” He started, first addressing her apology. If anything, he should have thanked her for waking him from the creepy dream he had. Hopefully she hadn’t noticed his startled wakening. She hadn’t seemed to at least. With a nod, he reached down and briefly toyed with the zipper on her bag before it zipped it like it was suppose to. “Mmhmm. Blithe, right?” He asked as he stood, and stuffed his hands in his pockets. The chances of him falling asleep again were slim, so might as well take the opportunity to socialize for a moment catching up with the rest of the Masked and seeing if anything new was going on later today. In the few seconds that this had occurred, Gage’s mind worked too place what class they had together but mostly why she wasn’t in his class again this year. It wasn’t too hard to figure out. “You stayed back last year.” He stated casually, but not quite in the form of a question. “Really wanted to do this scavenger hunt again, huh?” While the words were meant to be a joke, Gage kept quite the straight face as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and waited for her before he started walking back towards the general area they’d come from.

Oskana Sonnen ~ Cherry Grove Park

It was never her intention to have fall asleep in the middle of a clearing of the public park. It certainly wasn't an uncommon occurrence but it was rather embarking to wake up with grass, dirt, and bugs all stuck to your face. Not to mention Oskana's own disappointment in her inability to control her sleep patterns. There was nothing to explain the sudden disruptive in her sleep--nothing changed in school, no problems at home, and hardly anything going on in her social life. So, Oskana dreamed of nothing but nothingness, as if her mind was to busy in waking life to be able to accept the gifts that a dream has to offer. That is, until a rude someone woke her.

Oskana could feel a bruise forming at her ankles already. A sizable red spot marked where the intruder had kicked and subsequently fell on top of. Rubbing sand out of her eyes, Oskana rolled onto her back, using her elbows to prop herself up. With only a brief glance she instantly put a name with the face of the klutz who tripped over her; Aki Evedane. She would never say with pride that she was a bit of gossip follower but even those who wouldn't give a minute of their lives away to gossip would know the infamous Aki Evedane. The dead giveaway was the bandages which he constantly sport--for fashion or because of his 'mafia activities' Oskana wouldn't be the one to judge why. No, she would never be the one to judge. But I am still human, I cannot help it.

“I apologize. It was a mistake on my part. Would you accept my condolences?”

A smile and an open hand signified openness and honesty but both gestures offered were neither open or honest. The retrained movements of his other hand weren't missed and though it peeked her curiosity as to what was in the box, Oskana made no comment nor gave no indication of seeing his action. Instead, she focused a few moments on his expression; it was empty and appeared so suddenly that she got the feeling that it was more of a defensive reflex then an expression of human emotion. Thank goodness his eyes were deeper then his smile or Oskana might have mistaken him as a hollow doll of some sort but they didn't offer any more warmth then the arctic.

She yawns first and takes his and, heaving her weight up. "Er, don't worry to much about it. Accidents happen. I shouldn't really be sleeping the middle of the lawn anyways. I guess the stupid scavenger hung that they give out every year bore me so much that it put me to sleep." she said, nonchalantly shrugging her shoulders and brushing off herself. If Aki hadn't tripped over her, how long would she have laid here, asleep? A chill swept through her body as her imagination went wild. Cherry Grove Park wasn't always as friendly at night as it is during daylight. Oskana offered a smile in thanks, a full one with 100% natural emotion...plus dimples.

Having been asleep for an unknown amount of time, Oskana took looked to see any changes in her surrounds. Besides the appearance of Aki, there was a senior who was familiar as he was from the student council and a girl who Oskana was sure she had met before. The future would provide opportunities to meet her again if not for the first time. Besides, it would be extremely rude to just run off without regard to Aki.

"Ah, right, well I'm Oskana if you want to know. You're Aki right? I'm sorry if that was a bit creepy, you're just well known around the school is all. " She was awkward. Small talk was not her thing and probably never will be. Shifting between feet, she tested her ankle, trying to determine if the pain was reality or just imagination. It was imagination. "Strange how being a little different can make you a subject of a conversation. Speaking of which, do you have any idea of what's going on at the main fountain? From here it looks like some kind of celeb paparazzi blitz." Glancing up, she wondered if she had been talking to herself the entire time.

Locke Kingston \/ Cherry Grove Park

A small sigh emanated from Locke, he was just so bored. Thoughts flashed through his mind, his eyes slipping from the tree tops to the ground. I am above this, why in the hell do the teachers push these things on us? He shook his head again, trying to clear this thought. He never stopped walking along his path, but he wasn't even paying attention to where he was going. A hand slipped into his pack to pluck out the scavenger hunt, "Really?" He eyes the paper for a moment, his feet taking him to a never by trash bin.

"Useless," he scoffed, his hands working to crumble the paper into a tiny ball. He tossed the balled-up paper into the trash bin before he turned away to continue his walk. He passed by a few of his schoolmates talking into the forest some, Seems Gage and Blithe are blubbering about something. He rolled his eyes, not even bothering to stop long enough to be noticed much.

Locke slipped his hand into his pockets as he continued to walk down the path; the trees falling silent once more as the wind slowed. "... some kind of celeb paparazzi blitz." He shifted his attention over to Aki and Oskana. He blinked before he glanced over to fountain, something obviously happening. Heh... How did I not notice that? A frown pull one corner of his mouth down, Noisy, better walk the other way, else I lose my sanity. His arms crossed loosely over his chest, his eyes focused on the mob of people scrambling for someone's attention by the fountain. Locke finally just flipped directions and began walking off again. Dunno what is going on, but it probably is far from worth my time.

Lucas Toland; Cherry Grove Park

Lucas’ gaze flickered towards the small box that this boy took out from his bag. Although it was just a normal box – nothing out of the ordinary about it, it piqued his curiosity. ’I wonder what’s inside it.’ he found himself wondering. However, at the same time, he felt that it would be rather rude to just suddenly ask – after all, it seemed that this boy didn’t seem the talkative type. Lucas winced internally – perhaps he shouldn’t have approached? The boy did seem pretty absorbed in this book, Entwined. ’I ought to browse the school’s library a little later,’ Lucas noted to himself. The boy then marked his page before setting both the book and box into his backpack. A brief introduction and extension of the hand was all it took to put Lucas at ease.

“Ah – yes, I wasn’t aware you knew of me,” Lucas said, slightly relieved as he lightly shook the boy’s hand. “I’m Lucas Toland. It’s nice to meet you, Dante,” he chimed with a smile. Perhaps the Dante didn’t mind the company as much as he had thought. “Yeah, Throme’s a great place,” he added. ’On the surface at least…’ Of course, Lucas knew all about the darker side of the city... the shadowy part to it that most people didn’t even know existed. He hoped that it would stay that way to this new student as well. Life was so much easier when everything seemed bright.

And there he was going off on negative tangents. “So, uh… if you need help with school-related things or just getting around the city, I’m available. My phone number’s on the directory listing if you need it,” Lucas added. As if to prove his point, his phone buzzed in his pocket. “Sorry, just a moment,” he mumbled as he fished the device out, quickly tracing a pattern to unlock the screen. Once again, it was none other than Liesel.

‘oi isn’t school over yet?‘ Lucas frowned at this – really, as an adult, she ought to be more patient.

‘We’ll be dismissed in thirty minutes. We’ll meet you at the green house then.’ Really, Liesel had impeccable timing. She just had to contact him when he finally made an attempt to get to know the newer students. 'Student Council' duties always got in the way... "I'm really sorry about this, but it seems someone else needs my assistance," Lucas sighed with an apologetic smile. "I'm really sorry! If you need anything, feel free to ask any of us in the student council!" he called before running off.

Really, where were those other Masked members? It was times like these that a wide park could be troublesome...

Zensa

A light breeze played across Zensa's face as he laid in the green grass. He was on the verge of sleep when a stray leaf decided to blow over him and try to land in his right nostril. With a half-sneeze, half-snort Zensa bolted upright as the leaf shot out of his nose and floated away on the wind once again. He rubbed his nose before rising to his feet. Well that's one way to wake up I suppose. Covering his mouth in a vain attempt to stifle a yawn, Zensa rose to his feet to see if anything had changed in the park. Not surprisingly, nothing had changed. He scratched his head. Kinda dull today. If only there was something to do. And then his eyes locked onto it.

Under the shelter of some overhead trees there was a medium-sized group of people setting up what seemed to be an improvised bandstand. It was just the thing for him, some good music. From the makeup of the various instruments, it appeared to be a small jazz ensemble. Even better. There was one instrument that stood there unattended. It was a baritone saxophone. A few men were crowded around it, arguing heatedly. He couldn't help but move in closer to listen.

"What? Is he really abandoning us here! Today!?!", asked one man incredulously.

"I guess so. He said he couldn't stand us, and that we were holding him back. Smug bastard.", said another man who was holding a trumpet.

"I can't believe it. What an ass.", said the first man.

"Oh man!? Where are we going to get a stand-in right now!? We should just call it off!", said a third man, in a rather exasperated tone.

Zensa took the opportunity to speak up. "Excuse me, but you guys need a stand-in, right? Maybe I could help. What song do you need cover for?"

"Oh yeah? Well what can you do, kid?", asked the first man. "We're going to play some Mingus today. Opening with 'Moanin'. If you can show us something to prove it, we'll let you play for today."

"Alright, well let me get at that bari.", said Zensa with a smirk on his face.

He strode over to the saxophone, and placed the neck strap over his head and tightened it accordingly. He ran his fingers over the keys in a quick test. Nice feel to it. This is pretty high quality. He wet the reed slightly before putting the mouthpiece between his lips. Showtime. Zensa began to play the opening of Moanin'. He was quite ecstatic that they were going to play that, it was one of this favorites. He had committed it to memory a long time ago. His fingers danced across the pearls as he played the sixteenth-note runs with flawless precision. The band quickly formed up and began to follow his lead. A small crowd began to grow around their small ensemble. Zensa continued his performance, much to the delight of the surrounding crowd. At the end of the song, the crowd burst into applause. He bowed his head slightly, catching his breath, smiling the entire time.

Kiriyu Asuki - Cherry Grove Park

Asuki stood at the back of the crowd as they received the lecture from the teacher. She appeared blank, her eyes staring into space as the teacher continued to speak. However, despite the facade of non-attention, Asuki's eyes continued to take in every detail of the others standing around in the crowd. She didn't react visibly as one of the students stood up to the teacher, calling her boring. Oh, he'd most likely get overtime homework or detention. She'd learned long ago that you might be able to knock a teacher down during a confrontation, but they had the authority to take it back much more subtly...

She almost smiled at that, but her face stayed neutrally blank as the teacher dismissed them for the scavanger hunt. Looking at the sheet handed to her, she seemed to glaze over looking at it right there... She knew all the answers, and might have once done as she saw the one called Aki Everdeen do, but instead she just stared at the paper while watching going ons around her.

Silently, she caressed the mask through the backpack, remembering its strength for a moment before beginning to wander off. It looked like she was going to join the scavenger hunt... except that she was heading the wrong direction. Then again, since her disappearance and attempted suicide, absentmindedness had seemingly overtaken the former Ice-Queen.

Incidently, it wasn't too long until she found herself sitting in a tree. A good place to look out, a good place to pretend to be losing yourself in the world of unreality. No one needed to interact with her, therefore she didn't have to put on the stupid sickly sweet attitude. That 'how can I help you?' attitude that was so pathetic. She couldn't see anyone watching her, but that didn't mean that no one was. It was always best to assume someone was hovering around, watching you. After all, if you assume an ambush, then you won't be surprised, right?

That was her rational, anyways. And goodness, she'd played enough strategy games to know such. Flickering her eyes around quickly, she assertained that any possible watchers were covered well enough. There were several trees, but nothing she had to worry 'bout. Unless Aki was looking for a prank, though she thought she'd seen him wander off into the trees at the right just a few seconds ago...

Dropping lithely out of the trees, she stood up, dusting herself off, and considered what to do next. She had... about thirty minutes, if her inate sense of time was working, which it usually was. Carefully schooling her features in a blank expression once more, she wandered onwards, attempting to move away from the papparazzi explosion without running into someone else from the school. Her attempt to get away was not exactly at even with what everyone expected from her.

Her luck, unfortunantly, was out today. The boy .... Kingston or something, was also walking away from the explosion. Walking until she was a bit closer before pretending to suddenly realise there was someone else near her. Glancing somewhat surprisedly at him, she smiled that welcoming friendly smile that always made her cringe a little more inside. "Oh, hello. I don't think I've met you before. I'm Asuki Kiriyu." She cocked her head, as she was wont, stopping walking and holding out her hand.

..
Yeah. She'd just walked at odd angles with him, then, once he got close, realised he was there and greeted him. That was just about what anyone who knew about her would expect. The star actor in a show of her own making, she stood, smiling and waiting for his reply... if he didn't just walk straight past.

Dante Toseletti

Dante nodded as Lucas pulled out his phone. "Take your time," he said politely as he looked off at the scenery around them. "I'm really sorry about this, but it seems someone else needs my assistance. I'm really sorry! If you need anything, feel free to ask any of us in the student council!" Dante looked over at Lucas and nodded slightly. "I'll do that. Again, it was nice to meet you," he called after Lucas as he ran off. Dante gave a small sigh as he pulled his book out again, reopening it to where he had left off. Maybe, it will be fine here. Lucas seems nice enough. Although I really wanted to go to China....Oh well, might as well make the best of it, he thought quietly.

Dante pulled out his phone and texted his guardian - I'm going to give it two weeks. If it's not better by then, can we leave and keep traveling? - sending the text, he looked back down at his book quietly. A few minutes later, his phone buzzed. Flipping it open, Dante opened the text from his guardian - Dante, give it a longer chance than two weeks. You should know two weeks is not enough time to experience a culture and make friends and such. You have two months. Alright? - Mark-. Dante sighed quietly and sent a reply - Fine. -. He shut his phone and continued to read, a slight irritated look in his eyes.

Locke Kingston \/ Cherry Grove Park

Locke stopped dead in his tracks as Asuki appeared in front of him. Great... I wonder what she wants, he thought, uncrossing his arms from his chest slowly. His face retained his usual stoicism as his eyes glanced down to the outstretched hand. "Locke Kingston," he said neutrally as one of his hands reached out to give Asuki a firm hand shake. He shot a thumb over his shoulder at the mob of flashing cameras and exited people, "Just getting away from them." He shrugged lightly, letting go of Asuki's hand and side stepping her to continue on his path.

He walked forward some, his eyes traveled over the trees for a few moments before he sighed lightly, I suppose I should at least be somewhat nice to someone who tried to show me a curtsey, he thought with a slight grimace. He stopped, changing make to his emotionless state.

He looked over his shoulder, "You can come... I don't talk much." He shoved his hands back into his pockets, a light breeze passing though messed with his already messy hair. Maybe she will make this place somewhat interesting. He continued his stroll back along the already familiar path, whether or not the girl followed didn't make much of a difference.

He stared at the sky, his eyes tracing over the very few clouds visible today. At least I know just to do the exact opposite of what that clown, Kenneth Park, says on the news. His mind came back to down to Earth for a moment. He looked to see if the girl was following him or not.

Asuki nodded as she shook his hand, and then went to look at the cameras.... And seemed to suddenly realise the boy had moved onwards. For this, she was somewhat grateful. Running into him had forced her to play her part in the schoolgrounds, and him moving onwards was, in her mind, a release.

A chance to move onwards and hopefully avoid anyone else. And then... "You can come along if you want.... I don't talk much." She cursed in her mind and under her breath, where the boy couldn't see or hear. On the surface, her blank face brightened up a bit as she fell into step near him.

Oh, whatever ran chance meetings up in the sky didn't like her today. It was really giving her all the bad luck it could. The breeze ruffled her hair, and she paused for a moment, watching the leaves swish on the branches nearby. She and her 'persona' had no words for the current situation, so she merely put on that smile which could've won her acting awards. It was all about acting, wasn't life?

Aki Evedane; Cherry Grove Park

Aki remained still as the girl rolled on her back and propped herself upwards on her elbows. When he saw her give him a brief glance, he sighed slightly… 'Hopefully she doesn’t know who I was yet. Those rumors are quite bothersome.’ Suddenly, her mouth opened wide in a large yawn before she heaved herself upwards. “Er, don’t worry too much about it. Accidents happen. I shouldn’t really be sleeping in the middle of the lawn anyways. I guess that the stupid scavenger hunt that they give out every year bores me so much that it put me to sleep,” she said as though she couldn’t care less. Aki tilted his head slightly before the girl shrugged her shoulders and brushed herself.

Seeing her large, true smile, Aki sighed again, before standing back up. ‘She doesn’t seem to upset - maybe I can leave now?’ His hopes were dashed when after looking around, the girl started to speak. “Ah, right, well, I’m Oskana, if you want to know. You’re Aki, right? I’m sorry if that was a bit creepy, you’re just well known around the school, is all,” she said, a bit awkwardly. She shifted on her feet, before continuing, “Strange how being a little different can make you a subject of a conversation. Speaking of which, do you have any idea of what’s going on at the main fountain? From here it looks like some kind of celeb paparazzi blitz.” It was then that she finally glanced back up.

Aki met her ramblings with a silent pause. He took a deep breath before forcing himself to interact with the girl - Oskana - was that her name? “It is good to meet you, Oskana,” he looked around. 'Sheesh. All of the Student Council seems to be busy somewhere - seems like I have to deal with this then. Why are they never around when I needed them? Is their position just for show? They’re supposed to be here for helping everyone - instead of forcing me to interact with these students...’

“Yes, my name is Aki Evedane. Follow the rumors much?” he asked, with a slight frown. “It’s not strange, Oskana. Humans will naturally find interest in those who don’t quite fit in -,” he then grimaced slightly, before smoothing his face back into his blank smile. 'Keep things light. It will allow you to escape this conversation earlier.' Turning towards the commotion, he gave a slight nod. “It's our mayor. I suppose it has something to do with the statue that they’re erecting later.” He, then, looked at the girl, before seeing the bruises on her ankles. “Hurt?” he asked, with a quiet sigh, before reaching in his pocket to take out a painkiller. “Need one?” Despite the welcoming words, his tone was nothing of the like - it was cold and unwelcoming, as though he didn’t wish to be doing such a hateful task. Aki offered his hand to the girl, again, this time with a pink painkiller resting precisely in the center.

While waiting for the girl to reply, he glanced around before he heard something like a saxophone playing off in the distance, with a jazz band supporting its effortless sixteenth notes. Cocking his head to pinpoint from exactly where it came from, he noticed the band playing close by. Recognizing one of them from Cenriel Academy, the Saxophone Player… he looked at it curiously, before the band stopped playing. The thunderous applause was nearly deafening, surprising Aki slightly. “I wonder what’s going on there…” he mumbled to himself, before looking back at the girl, still with the smile on his face.

He shifted the mask slightly behind his back, before looking awkwardly away. Please, get out of my sight… I want to have some peace and quiet, for once…

Blithe Verday ~ Cherry Grove Park

Cursing the zipper for its persistent refusal to give, Blithe glanced up beneath her eyelashes to sneak a glance at Gage; hoping she wasn’t blubbering to herself this entire time. To her surprise she watched as the boy stood and started towards her, all in one flow of mesmerizing motion. As he bent beside her and spoke she couldn’t help but release a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. When in the world did she stop remembering to breathe around a guy! It’s not like she hadn’t seen the student council member before.

Her inner cursing switched from her bag to her sidetracked mind as Gage got the wretched zipper to behave itself. Brought back to Earth at hearing her name, Blithe blinked a second to get her thoughts straight before nodding her head in confirmation. “Yeah, that’s me.”

Slipping the bag back over her head to rest over her shoulder, the blond stood to face her former classmate. “You stayed back last year.” Not a question, but a statement. Was it really that obvious? Then again, why else would she not be in the next grade; there weren’t many other options out there. “Really wanted to do this scavenger hunt again, huh?”… Except that excuse. Grimacing at the day’s reminder, Blithe then cracked a wry smile at the boy’s straight face. How he pulled off nonchalance was an impressive feat. “Oh yes, of course. Why pass up a sure win when you know all the answers?” Attempting to keep her own face as calm and straight, a small laugh still snuck out as she sped her pace up a bit to keep up with the taller boy; walking back towards the direction they had come from earlier.

Eyes wandering on their own accord to the grass she passed just a few minutes ago, Blithe fell back a step and switched to walk on the other side of Gage; keeping him between herself and the last known location of that frog. Sure it had probably hopped back on its merry way, but she wasn’t taking the chance as she clutched her bag strap a bit tighter to avoid glancing behind her at the same spot. “Doesn’t look like I’m missing too much not moving up a year. Unless nap time is a scheduled event, then I’m going to be sorely disappointed.” A bit of truth in the jab, the words caught up to her as she remembered why she said them. “Shoot! I woke you up didn’t I! Sorry, I was a bit… what’s the word, Frazzled?” Waving one hand by her head to try and describe the explanation, she quickly slid the same hand to rub the back of her neck nervously. “Guess you failed nap time thanks to my wonderful student charisma.”

Her face breaking into a guilty look for a moment, it didn’t stay long. Sure this was just a few minutes of conversation, but it was nice to talk to someone other than the Itex or anything involving magical masks and mystical transformations. Though she couldn’t help but feel that the entire life mission pause wouldn’t last long, sooner or later it would be time to get back down to work and put student life on the back burner. But that’s what she signed up for. To give her best efforts to as well.

Oskana Sonnen ~ Cherry Grove Park

“It is good to meet you, Oskana,”

"Yeah, same to you Aki..."

Pink pain pills weren't the normal kind of gift you give when meeting someone for the first time. Nurses and mothers were usually the ones to offer such things to quell the pains and aches that a child complains about; a pink pill that, more often than not, were simply a tablet of sugar colored pink. The warmth and love and caring that were put on for show by dear mother as she lied to her child by giving them candy instead of medication was something that Aki obviously never experienced. This guy definitely wouldn't be a successful actor. Not even an ounce of effort was put into making a single syllable sound even the tiniest bit caring. Three minutes into meeting this absolute enigma of a guy, infamous throughout every grade of Cenriel Academy who could (depending on his appearance) stop anything going on in a hallway by simply walking past with a whirlwind of fresh gossip following, was beginning to bore her. It was one thing to learn that the rumors about someone were totally off; that would at least interest her long enough to discover what they were really like but this guy. This Aki. Exactly like how the rumors described him. Oskana didn't know if she should be laughing or crying.

Then she realized that standing there totally spaced out wouldn't help her cause.

"Thank you..." With some hesitation the pill was snatched up and dropped into the tiny, decorative pocket on her dress. Her ankles didn't hurt enough to justify a pain-killer but she took it anyways, figuring that it would be so rude to refuse such a kind gesture. Sarcasm, Oskana decided, was suited much more to spoken word then inner monologue. Making friendly conversation with this guy wasn't going to be easy but trying was never beyond Oskana. Anyways, she always gave a second chance to someone before he/she/it was deemed boring and unworthy of her time. Depriving Aki of redeeming himself would just be wrong. She floated around Aki so whatever direction he was awkwardly looking away to, he would be awkwardly looking into Oskana's mischievous brown eyes.

Three minutes had already passed, Aki had two more to go.

"Hey, ya hear that too? Sounds like sounds like Zensa Valobo if you ask me...which you didn't but you can't fool me," Oskana waggled her finger teasingly. Maybe annoying him would be more fun. "I saw that curious look in your eye. But please don't mistake me for a soulless gossip. I saw them opening for a show once..." her voice dipped into silence for only a moment as a sudden thought struck her before regaining its normal momentum again, "Ah, great jazz piece they did. Defiantly had their own sound to them. I'm not a big jazz fan myself but they almost won me over. You?" she finished her blathering with less and enthusiasm and more hesitation then when she began.

The thought that struck? A simple look into Aki's eyes could explain. Despite standing right before this boy, a chill that only she wanted to be apart of this conversation was...an unpleasant feeling. Was this how she spend time when Itex didn't need her, talking to someone that obviously want to be somewhere else? How sad. Is this how bored she was when Itex gave them all some downtime? She really needed a hobby.

Re: Masks of the Soul

Since it's a new day, I'd edit the Peddler's post with the new items for sale, except... for some reason there's a time limit on editing for RPG, and that time limit's run out. So, if anyone wants to buy an item from the Peddler, please PM me, and I'll work with you to figure out how the exchange will go (whether or not he has it, whether or not it's for sale, what the cost is, if it's actually sold, etc.). And if anyone has any questions about any of the NPCs I made (say, if you're going to use one), please feel free to PM me about them!

If you don't know what's for sale, you may always PM me, and I should be able to contact you with the current list of items that he has. The list is always subject to change, at the GMs' discretion, but I should have a general idea of what it is at all times. I'm glad this RP has continued, and I look forward to starting this new day! Speaking of which, Kaden's post will be out momentarily!

Re: Masks of the Soul

I'll have a post up soon! I promise!

It's just that... I'm being lazy. lol - Yeah, I'll be posting for Suna first, then Vera, just as a heads up. (Unless Suna scares me and I have to stick her a cage). And people just assume that Aki has gone home or something... or he can be attempting to wrap up his injuries for an entire month... *cough*

W00T. lolkatlove - we're looking forward to seeing you there. Now, Cien, time to get you to do all the writing while I complain about it being slow. XD

Anyways, GM-stuff. After this extraordinarily long afternoon/night is finally over, we'll be pulling you into an awesome time-travelling adventure. GMs will write up a post basically detailing what happens in Throme through about a months worth, to bring you to another awesome Friday afternoon - er... real date soon to come

And if you haven't heard yet, the 100st post (that Cien and I didn't write) will bring surprises~ So what exactly will this surprise be? Your character will get to choose their favorite celebrity who will have an excuse reason to go visit their school - as an interview of sorts. Think fast! ... 'Cause if your favorite celebrity hasn't been created yet, then have fun reading my kind of sucky off-the-top-of-my-head interpretation. So. If you want someone good, you'll tell me ahead of time, right? And you'll choose one of Cien's NPCs, right? XD

Re: Masks of the Soul

Well, that does sound like an interesting RP. I like the loose thread that at any moment my character could die also! Such suspense! I think I'll have to wait and join that little egg you have hatched there.

And, the mention of how everything must be descriptive has pulled more so than would imagine.... so many challenges await !!

Re: Masks of the Soul

Uh... quickest summary I can give:

In this world, there is a mysterious figure of legend called the Dollmaster. He is called this because he has created and populated the world with living dolls. These dolls, like humans, can move and speak of their own will, but all they need to live is their wind-up key. Each doll has their own individual key which will not work on any other doll, and as long as they are wound, they can continue on 'living'. A popular system throughout the land is for the dolls to seek a key-keeper, or a human would would safe-keep their keys until the time comes for another winding.

Our story would begin with a group of dolls who had come to be wound up again...
... Only to find that the key-keeper had disappeared... along with all their keys.

Those who despaired left the shop, but our characters remained and discovered the remnants of a note. On it were only a few legible words, mainly, "immortality", "keys", "test subject", and "success". Now, how the characters react to the note is completely up to the players, but basically this group of dolls decides to set out and search for their key before they completely unwind...

Yes, we will be counting down the days until each doll's 'death' XD
At the same time, I can't reveal much more because Niv and I are trying to do a concept where the players share the feelings of the characters as they learn about the world around them.

The GM style we plan to do is basically write a lengthy description of everything and anything that the players can interact with, and if the characters make the right decisions, they might all be able to survive.

We would love to hang around with you as well, Lolkatlove - now excuse me while I go find out what was posted on the Draco Edge OOC XD

Re: Masks of the Soul

Revamping characters is oh so fun, and the idea of playing one with a crush on your character Cien I must admit, does highly amuse me. =')

But do tell of this new RP your thinking of?

I am limited to what I can join right now as I have 4 going at the moment, but 2 seem to be dying, however I feel yourself, and Nivosity, which thank you by the way for finding the update and providing me all the gritty details! are excellent RPers and would love to hang around with you lovely pair some :D

Re: Masks of the Soul

With Coraline, you can completely revamp the character should you choose to use her - all you have to do is use the same name (add a middle initial or something for the character profile), but otherwise, you can change her as much as you want.

Or... you could hold out for a bit and join the new roleplay we plan to upload in a short while XD

Re: Masks of the Soul

:D lolkat! It's awesome to see you here!

Joining is never too late. :D Actually, I think that poor Witty was just recently complaining about being the only non-GM in the Masked group or something.

Alright, ... important GM stuff. You can take the empty Itex role (I forget what it is off the top of my head), or you can take one of my Masked roles. I believe that I don't know Coraline as well, 'cause she's not my creation.

Itex, there are no stipulations. But if you want to be Coraline, you can do whatever you want with the personality 's long as the name's the same and... well, she still has a crush on Cienpher's character. Pfft. That's all I remember about her.

What else. What just happened? A whole load of a mess that's what. >.>

I have a summary written up somewhere, so let's see if I can find it...

There it is!

It's August 16 on a Friday afternoon, and a hotter day couldn't be imagined. Cenriel Academy decided to schedule a field trip to "Cherry Grove Park" where the students participated in a scavenger hunt.

Then the plot splits into a total of two groups - Masked and Itex. Itex first - I believe they come first alphabetically. ^^

Itex
While they were supposed to get there at about 5 PM, the Lower Level Itex went to Brio's to get their new task from our-beloved Itex Higher-Up, Judgement. Although they were horribly late, Judgement managed to not kill anyone because he had a dessert. (And this is the beginning of the Apricot VS Cherry idiocy). Aki Evedane showed up here by accident, right before everyone left, which caused Judgement to beat him up.

After the meeting, they split into two groups again.

Star/Hermit
The Star and Hermit were sent to the roof of Sagaro Mall with a package that they were to give to someone. (This has now been revealed to be Suna, the owner of the observatory). This coincides with the Masked plotline, so I'll put more detail there.

Chariot/Moon/Tower
The Chariot, Moon, and Tower were sent to Liron River Pier where they met with a unnamed member of Itex with wings (known as En (female)).

Yet another split

Moon
The Moon was sent to the basement of Sagaro Mall to deliver yet another package. After having a failed attempt from buying a balloon from Easter, he went to the arcade to play games with a math teacher. >.> Oh, and the package has been delivered properly and successfully for once.

Chariot/Tower
For some unknown purpose, En (female) asked for the Chariot's mask. After the Chariot's brief pause, En ordered Tower to attack her. At this time, she also took a phone call from Magician, who gave her a report. After a brief battle, the Tower left and got a call from a class mate - they now have a date at the premiere of the movie Skinwalkers. But anyways, another NPC appeared (known as En (male) from now on). After they had a discussion, the mask was returned to Chariot, but En (female) seems to have done something to En (male). Both NPCs left.

Masked
They also managed to have a meeting in this time period as Liesel Moringmer (their helper) ordered them to arrive at the Greenhouse. At this time, the Joker, a new addition to their school, was found to have a mask and invited to their meeting. Liesel ordered the Masked to go to the roof of Sagaro Mall as she has found information that Itex would be sending a package - they are to intercept this. On the way there, Lucas split off from the group.

Lucas
Since he got distracted by Aki bleeding all over the place, he helped Aki to the pharmacy Arturia, where they met the strange (and slightly ... wrong in the head) Vault. Lucas left after that, accidentally going to the basement, where he met the Moon - and got chased away for having blood on him. At this point, he joined the rest of the Masked on the roof.

Ace/Joker/King (Lucas)
They all went to the roof - not really together. The Joker was having a conversation with the Hermit and Star, when the Ace dragged her off to go talk to some random person in the Rose Garden. After that leading to nothing in particular, the Joker went to bother the Hermit and Star again - who had just made contact with Suna.

Re: Masks of the Soul

o.o Unexpected...

I've read chobits, but I assure you, Kat - this idea was purely... er, not imagination... born of randomness. I think you mightbe confused because Chobits by CLAMP is about human-like computers XD

Anyway, we've gone nowhere fast plot-wise (my fault, but a story for when I have a computer and not a cellphone) so new roleplayers to jump start this thing's heart would be great :D

Re: Masks of the Soul

Why helllloooo Cienpher *waves uncontrollably*

Nivosity, I believe we have had breath greetings *nods head*

I do believe this is RP based on an anime I never did finish.... cho-bit or something?
Always did like that anime!

I see an open space, BUT heavens forbid I also see dozens upon dozens of posts... I fear my joining may be too late....

Re: Masks of the Soul

I forgot about the Places tab AGAIN! I'm so sorry! T_T

And my post is short, but it gets the storyline moving forward a step, so it's all good, right? Right?? XD

Re: Masks of the Soul

Thanks for the post. :D Since everything right now is basically waiting on me - I'll have a post up as soon as I get caught up.

Re: Masks of the Soul

I know that I've got a post to write, and I'm working on it, but... school and family just bombarded me with life... I'll try my best to get it out tomorrow, but I can't promise much, sorry. ^^" But I can promise it will be out as soon as I can get it out! Which is hopefully by the end of the weekend!

Re: Masks of the Soul

I wrote my post while watching Mission Impossible 4 and eating popcorn, so it is the worst one I have ever written, but basically all Lucas is doing is approaching someone to talk with, so please forgive me >...< (it's late too...)

I'll edit it later...

Re: Masks of the Soul

Haha, yeah. If anyone has any awesome friends that want to join - go ahead and invite them. New faces are always nice. ;D

Re: [OOC] Masks of the Soul

Oh, that's what you meant by "Masks" XD

We could always find replacements if we wanted to, but it's always hard to find people willing to take on existing personas... I mean, I'd be willing to give the inactive positions to those willing to keep the name at least. I don't care about the personality much since no one did much of anything yet...

Re: [OOC] Masks of the Soul

lol. ^^ I thought that by Masks, you mean Moths. Confusing, eh?

... Well... uh... beg someone to join you? :P

Re: [OOC] Masks of the Soul

Nivosity wrote:blackwolf is back? Iris isn't a GM anyways... and neither is spud?

blackwolf = Magician = Itex
Iris = Star = Itex
spud = Tower = Itex

Hence, I'm the only player in the Masked group who's not a GM...

Re: [OOC] Masks of the Soul

Yeah, I returned at 2 AM. :D

Anyways... yeah. :D We will finish this even if it means we will solo-RP it to doom. Although, we will probably make a big mess with confusion, but anyways...

blackwolf is back? Iris isn't a GM anyways... and neither is spud?

Re: [OOC] Masks of the Soul

Well, this is a rather slow RP? Some people might have taken it for dead... but yeah, Niv and I decided we'd complete this even if we were the last ones standing, so yeah :D

She's returning today +9GMT, by the way.

Re: [OOC] Masks of the Soul

Yeah, silence... I've taken it to be the norm. But now I've got no posts to write, and I just got back from Greece. And Niv is gone as well, so far as I can tell. At any rate, I'm just waiting for the Roof to move along before I can post again.

Also, am I really the only non-GM in the Masks who's still around? Where did everyone else disappear to?
