Introduction

WARNING::THIS ROLEPLAY CONTAINS SPOILERS PERTAINING TO THE VIDEO GAMES MASS EFFECT 1 AND 2! Do you have to play the games to join? No. Will it be to your benefit? Definitely. Also, this roleplay may contain foul language, homosexual relationships, heterosexual relationships, alien/ human relationships, and will most definitely hold lots and lots of violence. If you feel uncomfortable with any of these things, please do not read any further and save yourself the trauma.

Stars spilled out before the vessel like fireflies, dancing past at a speed that was nauseating if you tried to follow them. Shepard had learned long ago to look forward and not focus on one white ball of gas for too long or risk giving himself a headache. The Normandy surged through warp at a steady faster than light pace that, to those inside, hardly felt like movement at all. The intense, almost white eyes of the Specter Commander glancing about at the crew in the cockpit of the ship. His thoughts were jumbled, stressed, and restless. They had defeated the Collectors nearly a year ago and ever since, the ship had been traveling the Traverse and beyond, chasing leads on the Reapers and preparing for the coming invasion. Shepard had become a relentless machine. From the time that he woke to the time that he finally collapsed from exhaustion, he hunted them. The Reapers. They were the only things that mattered anymore. They were the reason SHE wasn't alive anymore.

His team were, of course, concerned. Even Jack had voiced complaints that he was pushing himself and them far too much. Finally he had grown sick of their nagging and issues shore leave for the entire crew. To be honest, there hadn't been any real reason for Shepard to deny them. It had been months since the last sign of trouble and even the Geth were all but gone aside from the ones opposing the Reapers. So there was little for them to do but wait. The commander hated it. He wanted to end this and be done with the whole ordeal so that he could finally put A- ... Her, to rest. He couldn't even think her name without the dull throb in his chest reminding him that HE had been the one to make the call. Ash. Since her death he had refused to lose another crew member. And he hadn't. And so, it was due for them to have a few months of relaxation, or at least until the Reapers made their move. Who knew how long that would take.

The had dropped Tali and Legion off at the Migrant Fleet. At first, Shepard had been a little worried about letting the Geth warrior board the home of the less than receptive Quarians. After all, the Quarians had been working tirelessly to find a way to destroy their former slaves for years. However, the commander had forced them into a tentative truce with the aid of Tali and a few other influential Quarians. Legion would be safe among them for now as he worked with the council to work out a treaty. After that, the Normandy docked at Omega. Jack, of course, jumped ship along with the Asari Justicar. She claimed that Omega had a need for a good cleansing. Garus had been tempted to go along to watch the fun. Instead, he had decided to remain alongside Shepard. The dropped Grunt off at Tuchunka so that he could spend some "quality time" with (READ: beating the hell out of) his own kind. Then it was off to the Citadel, their current destination. Thane had gone with Mordin on a separate shuttle to a large research facility run by the Hanar to help in finding a solution to his illness. Shepard's thoughts went with them. He hated the thought of losing the green skinned man, especially before the fight with the Reapers.

"We will be at the Relay in a half hour, Commander," Was Joker's more upbeat than usual report, earning a faint smirk from the dark haired Specter. He and the AI, Edi had been playing around with a few...creative simulators recently that they pretended the commander didn't know about. (Note: There was NOTHING the commander didn't know about that happened aboard his ship.) Needless to say, talking ship and sarcastic pilot were becoming much more friendly with one another. Shepard didn't know whether to be creeped out or not by it to be honest.

"Thanks Joker, I will be in my quarters. Notify me when we are ready for the jump," Shepard ordered.

"Aye, Aye, Commander," Joker replied as the perfect soldier retreated. None of them had any clue as to what hit them when suddenly all of their systems went down....

They have been missing for seven months with no word.

Who Am I? You are a bio-engineered human being infused with the genetic code of Commander Tiberius Shepard. You were abducted from your life by Cerberus and have been unconscious up until now. Desperate to preserve humanity, they have granted you the very thing that will save the universe; The Shepard Gene. This gene, taken from the tissue of the commander when he was revived, has been isolated and studied. The most advanced scientists in the organization have discovered that it enables Shepard the ability to prevail no matter the cost or circumstance, strength greater than any normal human, and a set of instincts to put any other to shame. They have also enhanced you in other ways to make you unique, whether you are a super tank, imprinted with the power and skill of the Krogans, a quick strategist with lightening reflexes like the Turians, or any other odd mixture. Today is your first day of training at the facility. Who are these people that have kidnapped you? What do they want from you? Will you ever get your life back again? And why do you feel...drawn, called by some unseen force?

Your Objective: Adapt to your new existence as a part of Project Legacy and discover for yourself if Cerberus is good or bad. Seek out the lost commander Shepard and help destroy the Reapers once and for all. Or...destroy the universe. The choice is up to you now...

Mission Parameters:

No God Moderation nor powerplay. You can get shot, you will get shot, and if your character does not take damage or react appropriately, I will kill it dead with my mighty ban hammer.
I request (READ: demand) that all players post a minimum of two paragraphs per post. We want the story to move along and not get hung up by people not being able to respond to little pointless posts that do nothing.
Be creative. This is after all, in the super far future. Don't be afraid to invent fun toys or enemies or new races.
I wish for all players to post at least once a week. If you can't, that's fine, just please let us know what is going on in the OOC topic so that we know you are still alive and up for continuing.
Please use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. It won't kill anyone to push the spellcheck button, I promise.
No Smut. As much fun as it may be, if you want that sort of thing, you'll have to go off site. Romance is encouraged however, so don't be afraid of that.
If you are making an original character, please, please, please understand the backstory of the species you are playing. A good reference site is Mass Effect Wikia. They have EVERYTHING. If you are making a new race, be descriptive and detailed so that we know exactly what they look like and such.
No one is permitted to fall in love with Mordin Solus.
That last rule was a lie.

Class Descriptions

Adept: Specialists that use Biotics as their primary weapon to mentally damage, stun, and weaken their opponents. Primarily use pistols and lighter weapons.
Engineer: Technicians that use their omi tools to hack into machines and scanners, dropping enemy defenses and turning their toys against them. Primarily use pistols and Rifles.
Soldier: Tough, heavy hitting fighters that can deal large physical damage and specialize in using all weapon types.
Infiltrator: A mix of Engineer and Soldier.
Sentinel: A Mix of Adept and Engineer.
Vanguard: A mix of Adept and Soldier.
