Introduction
The Backstory
This World, this Earth, is very much like our own. However, among humans, there is a certain different race living there. They are Nekos - a humanoid race with the only things to tell them apart from humans that are their cat-like eyes, ears and tails. They are treated mostly like humans, they have jobs, families, a social life, but prejudices are still there. Much like they can be prejudiced against someone's religion, skin colour or sexual preference - some humans are prejudiced against Nekos. Same goes for Nekos - some don't like humans very much, especially 'Masters'.
There is one major difference between Humans and Nekos though, although Nekos can work, get married and do all the things that humans can, they can also choose (or be forced to ) take a Human Master. Generally, Nekos can choose whether to decline or accept the offer of the Human. If they choose to accept, the Master is then responsible for the Neko's life - shelter, food, education, health, etc. Therefore, most Masters are rather wealthy people.
Nekos with Masters call themselves the 'Royales' and many, but not all, think themselves superior to the Master-less Nekos - which they call 'Alley Cats'. The name started off as an insult but the Alley Cat Nekos quickly embraced the name and take pride in the name. Just like the Royales think themselves better, the Alley Cats believe that because of their independence, they are better, as Royales depend on their Masters for pretty much everything.
The Nekos are also separated, much like cats, into Pedigree and Non-Pedigree Breeds. There is not much hatred between those, but humans tend to pick Pedigree Nekos over Non-Pedigree for bragging rights or something. More often than not, the Alley Cats are Non-Pedigree due to their natural thirst to prove themselves.
Nekos also have an interesting ability to be able to change into cats. When in that form, you wouldn't be able to tell difference from them and normal cats. However, they are able to communicate with other Nekos in that form. Also, if the Neko changed the colour of their hair or something, it would not be transferred over to their Cat-Form. The Nekos can also be in this form for limited amount of time. The average length is 3 hours while the longest recorded time was made by a Russian Blue cat Dimitri over thirty years before the current time which was 23 hours and 47 minutes.
There are no restrictions on Human-Neko relationships. They can become lovers, get married to each other and have children. As always, there are always those who oppose those sort of relationships.
The children that come from a Human-Neko union can either turn out to become Human ( if they are born without the cat-features) or Non-Pedigree Neko ( if they are born with cat-features). It has also been noted that Humans born to Human-Neko unions have a large liking to fish.

Masters and Their Royales
Right, after I get all the info back, I'll post here what characters are taken in the Master department. Or in a relationship or something :D
There is no set amount of Role-Players in this, however, I would rather not have ridiculous numbers! Not that I believe that many people will join this (wishful thinking!).
I should also note that this accepts all kinds of relationships - boyxboy, girlxgirl, boyxgirl, threesomes. Please specify sexual preference of the character in your application.

2. Please, no Godmodding - it is no fun if everyone's amazing at everything. I want part of this Role-Play to be about the characters developing themselves - not being molded into something and not changing throughout the entire thing. Its fun to find some twists and turns and changes throughout!
3. Romance and sex scenes are allowed and I am looking forward to reading them but this thing also has a plot. So yeah, don't make it a priority. :) Also, if you want to get your character into a romantic relationship then ask on the OOC thread, so everyone will be clear that those two are off-limits.

Be reminded: Adult content is permitted on RolePlayGateway. It must 1) be tagged appropriately, and 2) be collaboratively written so as not to clutter the story. Sexually explicit (kissing, fondling, etc.) interactions must be concluded immediately in the responding author's post and must be separated by at least 5 posts of other non-adult writing. Help keep RolePlayGateway smut-free by working together with your game's players to meet this requirement.

(Right, we might as well start this. There is no posting order, just remember not to forget about us!)
Rusty smiled back at one of his co-workers in the bar as he went to leave. It was the end of his shift for that day and he really was glad that it was. It wasn't the best of jobs - especially since he knew that there were less-than-legal things going on there. It was rather obvious, but luckily, he was no part of it.
He closed the door behind him and adjusted his worn-out backpack, hanging off one of his shoulders. Rusty decided that it was still early enough to have a stroll through the park not far off from work. It was a nice place - kept nice and clean as it was close to the suburbs. There were lots of trees on either side of the paths there and stone fences to climb - one of Rusty's favourite past times.
Yeah, it was a good idea, he thought and left to the park.

Crystal woke up her mind still in a dream like state. She heard the familiar steps and voice that was singing in very gentle old voice. "Just like those bright sunny days that shine like crystals." Grandma sang Crystal look and saw her with gentle eyes and the old smile she loved. But the dream state didn't last long it soon fade and the warm colors and sounds faded just like night to day. When Crystal finally looked around the room it was dim, dark, and dusty it was just her dream back when her master was alive. She then stumpled out of the old dusty bed and stretch it was time for her to go find food and some water. There was a park nearby that may have a few scraps she could get. So Crystal headed to the park it was a good walk and the park was lovely. When Crystal got at the park she turned into her cat form and began to scavage.
OOC Notes
James Powers was in his home, walking along a white hallway towards the door on the other side of the hall. In the process of doing so, he ended up being clobbered by May. May grinned and laughed loudly. "James! James! Come play cards with me!" She grinned and asked wildly, her eyes staring up at her brother. James sighed slowly before scooping her up in his arms and carrying her back to her room, down the hallway. May talked the whole way there. "I would like to play go-fish and everything else and all sorts of games!" She said, grinning some more.
James slid into May's room and sighed softly, slipping her out of his arms and onto the floor. "Mom?" He asked and looked up to see her sitting in a rocking chair and reading a book. She looked up and smiled sweetly at James. "Mom, can I go out of the house today? I need fresh air." He said softly, while May complained that he wouldn't play cards with her. Lara walked in and sat beside May.
"I'll play cards with you, dear." Lara said and May grinned wider once more. "Yay!" May said and they began to shuffle cards. James stood there with his hands in his pockets. Slowly, his mother nodded. "Sure James." She said softly, nodding slowly once more before shoo'ing him with one hand. James then turned and grabbed a jacket off a hook in front of the doorway and slid out of the house. He walked slowly down the driveway and then down the street. Unsure of where he was going, he wandered by the tree's and ended up sitting on a bench outside a park. James sat solidly upon his seat, looking around and leaning into the sun light, sighing slowly and smiling softly.

Crystal didn't find any food most of it was old and moldy or the crows had picked off. She sat on top of the tables to scan the park it was a nice view the warm sun and cool breeze felt amazing through her fur. Crystal then saw a person sitting on the outside bench of the park she walked over to the person. "Maybe I can some food from him." She thought. Crystal then walked up to the man (James Power) and let out a soft mew to get his attention. She made her self looked cute and fluffy as possible with any luck he might give her some food.

Russet
The light rays of morning sun peaked through the window and landed on the soft-featured face of Russet. A light frown tickling her lips, she rolled over onto her other side. "Morning?" she whined. She would have liked to sleep longer, but it was time to wake up her Master. The redhead sat up and stretched her elegant arms up in the air. Still a little groggy but awake now, she dragged herself out of the bed and tiptoed down the hall. Staying in Yuen's house was a little weird, probably both for her as well as as his parents. Being so close to him, however, made her happy.
She sifted her fingers through her auburn locks and itched at her ears, which were drooped in her sleepiness. Russet quietly opened the door to Yuen's room, entered, and shut it behind her. He was sleeping peacefully, of course. The groggy frown transformed into a small smirk. Time to have some fun. She stalked silently around the other side of his bed and leaned over his still form. Tilting her head, she reached forward and grabbed his nose so he couldn't breathe.
OOC Notes
Drake is walking down the street bored and with nothing to do. he sees a few alley cats walking by and thinks 'hey maybe i should purchase some, its not like im short on cash' he walks around until he can find a place where he can acquire some nekos. he walks in and walks straight up to the owner. "high im looking for some nekos" owner "well we have plenty please feel free to look around" drake starts walking around the building looking at all the nekos.
OOC Notes
Nina sat up in her cot and yawned, while rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She smiled as she looked out the window to her right and saw the sun shining and some sparrows chirping and singing on the tree by the window. 'Looks like today might be the day' she thought to herself. Her and her sister Momo have been here at the center scene they were born and were to be sold at the age of 16, but no one wanted to take upon twin female nekos. Nina looked down to her left and saw that Momo was still asleep. She smiled and giggled, then lightly shook her trying to get her to wake up.
"Wake up Momo, or we're going to miss breakfast" Nina said lightly and in a loving tone.
"Ten more minutes, please" Momo groaned lightly, while placing the blanket over her head.
"Fine. But I'm not saving you any food" Nina replied while getting out of bed. She heard Momo groan loudly and then the sound of feet hit the floor.
They both went through their chests that held all of their personal belongings, that were under their cot, and pulled out their outfits for the day. They hopped into the shower, being quick so as to not take up all the hot water. After getting dressed they headed down stairs for breakfast. They ate a light breakfast of toast and fruit, while Nina had green tea and Momo had Caramel flavored coffee.
"Hey Nina do you think today's the day?" Momo asked quietly.
"Yes. I have a feeling that today is they Momo" Nina answered back quietly.

On one of the branches in a tree near Life stood a silver whitish colored cat. Her almost golden eyes watched the russian blue with intrest. Thorn could tell imediately that he was a neko, it was one of her talents she learned from Bruce. When she thought of Bruce her muscles tensed but she dropped from the tree branch and landed agilely on the soft grass. Her thoughts were turning into a plan she could easily do, but she just didn't know if this guy was rich or not. Looks easy. Pretend I'm a regular cat and have him take me home with him, then when he leaves, I take what I need and go. I just hope this guy is rich, not another broke alley cat. She thought the plan over and over in her head until she sat down and waited for the russian cat to turn back into his human form.
OOC Notes
James: James blinked and looked downwards towards a fluffy cat. He smiled a little and leaned down, rubbing it's head gently before blinking. "Are you hungry? He asked, he could make no distinction between neko's and cats. He smiled anyways and dug into one of his pockets, his purple jacket pocket, pulling out a sugar cookie he found in the house to take with him for a snack. Either way, he could buy food, so he set the cookie down near the cat. He wasn't sure if or if not the cat would eat it, but is was cute so he figured he'd give it at least something. He'd seen it scrounging for food, anyways.
He sighed a little and sat back upright, blinking at the cat and then around slowly. James sat there quietly in the warm light. He was smiling a little still but he wondered wether or not he'd be able to find a friend today, besides a cat. He hadn't been out of that big old house in weeks and it was nice to be outside. He sighed and thought quietly by himself, blinking at a cat with soft blue eyes. The sunlight made him comfortable and he sighed once more, his skin feeling enlightened and prickling with warmth.

Crystal took the cookie they smelled good. She couldn't help herself she turned back to a more human self. "Thank you sir." She said happily as she nippled on the cookies. "So do you come here often?" Even if she got shewed off her he yelled at her it had been a real long time since she talked to someone, plus Crystal loved to startle people once in awhile she felt playful today. She ate the cookie quickly and licked all the crumbs off of her lips and hands.
OOC Notes
Drake walks through the house and walks right by the room with Nina and Momo not noticing them and keep walking looking for a good neko to hire for company. it gets so lonely in his mansion by himself. he spots a male neko and is about to walk up to him and talk to him thinking of buying him. they start up a conversation. after they talk the neko follows drake down the way he came passing by Momo and Nina's room again.

Nina was looking out of the window when she saw Tomo(I just made up a name) walk past their room with a strange man. "Looks like it's Tomo's lucky day too" she said with a smile.
Momo quickly turned around, saw Tomo being taken away, and ran after him. "Tomo, wait you cant go yet!" she yelled out to him.
Nina got up quickly and ran after Momo, catching up to her and grabbing her hand. "Momo, no. You know what will happen if we interfere with a purchase" she said in a strict voice. James smiled softly and laughed a little instead of being startled by Crystal's shift of nature in front of him. He grinned a little and went entirely ecstatic. "No problem and nah, my mom doesn't let me out of the house very often." He said with a shrug. James didn't say he lived in a mansion or that he had a ton of money. He didn't say any of that. He smiled and stuck out his hand to be shaken, even if she had just liked her fingers. "The name's James. What's yours?" He asked with a sweet grin. Excitement surged him as he realized he might be making a new friend today.
James leaned forwards a little and he left his hand out there to be shaken. His grin was crazy white looking next to his lightly tanned skin and probably even glinted a tiny bit in the bright light which made his skin bubble with happy, warm goosebumps. He almost took her hand and shook it for her but decided he should let her shake it if she would be a friend of his eventually.

Crystal wiped her hands on her dress and sat on the bench right next to him. "Its nice to meet you James. My name is Crystal." She shook his hand and smiled gently. "I'm sure your mom means well." Crystal said gently. "I'm suprise really most humans get freaked out or try to kick me when I change. Your actually the first one that didn't." She smiled as her tail flicked happily back and forth. He seems real nice. Crystal thought to herself. I bet he's just your average hard working guy, plus its nice to talk to someone. She then stood up with shy smile she turned to James. "Would you like to take a walk with me? Its not very often I get to talk to people."

"im sorry i guess today isn't the day you get bought" i leave the neko there and walk to the room opening the door hoping its the right one "hello?" he recalled a name Momo "Momo are you in here?"

Crystal smiled and she loved a good conversation. "It depends on which walk of life are you on every neko is different." She said sweetly. "If we are alley cats we live like humans or as stray cats it depends on the neko. If you choose to live like a human you can work, find a partner, basicly live your life to the fullest. If you choose to live like a stray everyday is a struggle to find food, water, and shelter." Crystal stop talking for moment and thought. "Well for some strays others it depends. But if you live with a Master well thats kind of intersting. Our happiness depends on the Masters they can treat you anyway they please whether its cruelly or kindly. I actually think in a way it depends, its up to the bond between neko and human that it decides on how the relationship. If anything I believe the soul will lead a neko to whatever path they choose." Crystal stopped and blushed. "I'm sorry my answer doesn't exactly answer your question. It probably sounds like a bunch of mush."

"nice to meet you too...if you want i can buy you two, i can afford both of you so its no trouble" he turns to tomo and asks him if he can go fetch the owner and drake slips him 2 hundred dollar bills. "so are you two friends or sisters or something?" i notice the cramped living quarters used to such large spaces myself and i frown slightly. i look around and see the two trunks and i think to myself 'those should fit in the limo' im impressed with how little these people have and hope to give a very generous tip plus a donation in the future.

Thorn almost jumped when she realized there was some people a few feet behind her walking. She turned her golden eyes on them and let a meow toward them. Forget the other cat. Why not these two? she asked herself in her thoughts. She padded up to the human and neko that were talking and walking at the same time. The human was a guy and the neko was a girl, she didn't really hear them talking but knew the neko's name was Crystal. Thorn acted and looked like a every day regular cat but in truth she wasn't but hoped the neko wouldn't suspect. She purred as she rubbed against Crystal and James legs then tried to jump into Crystals arms. Lets see if this works like I hope. she thought silently.

"Drake Temple" the owner walks up with some paperwork and i sign it all filling out my information and i hand her an appropriate 500 dollars. she walks off and i grab one of the chests and walk it down to the limo parked outside. i come back up for the second and take it down. i hold open the door for the twins. "hope you like my house, its not much at the moment but im sure that could change" he looks at both of them with his two different color eyes.

James got mugged and got the crap beat out of him. Life and Death went with him to one of his houses but then the person playing life and death quit. I introduced jenna and James and Jenna met up at the Mall where they are now. Russten and Yuen went on a date and a small fight seems to be breaking out between Yuen and some guys who were making fun of Russet. Drake and the twins are currently being held hostage by some random crazed guy but I think they're about free of that. Thorn and Skylar are at Thorn's house and one of them is sewing and they were having a play fight. Charm is currently at Kei (My other character's house) where she has just recently come back from consiousness after she was assaulted by a gang that Kei rescued her from. Kei has just made her some dinner.

Unfortunately, I may stop posting. I already have, actually. School has been unexpectedly draining and this rp moves way to fast for me.
