In the year 2923, Earth came in conflict with an alien race. Since it seemed to be a war Earth was losing, the leaders of Earth created the angel project. The goal of the project was to turn a group of people into cyborgs with unimaginable power. But the result was merely that the angels were machines with human souls able to take human appearance. With the angels, Earth won the war and the aliens surrendered. But the angels didn't see it as enough and flew to the alien planet, nearly wiping out the entire alien race. The remaining survivors fled and settled on earth. The governments of Earth saw the angels as gone rogue and intended to dismantle them. With no purpose and Earth against them, the angels exterminated the majority of the human population, putting Earth back to the middle ages. The angels saw their new purpose as the guardians of Earth, which preserve mankind and protect them from hurting themselves by eliminating scientists who worked on new weapons and killing world leaders who wanted to declare war on other nations. 1500 years after the first elimination of most of mankind, the world was threatening to overpopulate and was advancing too far in technology for the angels. Meanwhile the angels had long lost their humanity. They exterminated the vast majority of the population again.

Now 1500 years later, the world is at the technological standard of the 2010s. There have only been occasional sightings of the angels but otherwise their existence has been long forgotten. Their whereabouts arent really known but they might be hiding among the human and alien population on Earth acting like normal humans. But time to take drastic action against the humans again could happen latest in a couple decades. It could even happen now. But one of the angels has fallen in love with a human, which poses as a problem for the other angels. Will the angels regain their humanity or will the single angel have to help the humans rebel against the other angels?
