Description

While not much taller than most Luminoth, perhaps 9 or 10 feet, she is considerably more sinewy, more muscular that many would assume her to be more related to the male shape than the female one (those who are unfamiliar with the Luminoth, that is). Over these, she has the Dark Suit commonly worn on Aether during the war, making her stand out because of the older model as well as its various repaired nature.

Her face, however, has many long scars that seem to be like long claw marks of some savage beast. Her eyes are missing, and due to the frightening nature this often causes, she wears the Echo Visor over them, hiding them from others so that they may not be disturbed. The features would not stand out from most other Luminoth, who often look very similar to each other.

The wings in back are shredded, healing over slightly but unable to achieve the normal illuminated color of most Luminoth, instead flowing around the long marks to make them appear like random light patterns.

She moves slow, considerably careful not to let her large size accidentally cause any damage related to her movements, and her body is discolored for a Luminoth, spots of swirling dark that made up the Ing showing, surrounding by normal flesh.

Personality

Deeply spiritual in nature, she often tries to understand the world in a philosophical nature, as if detaching herself from the situation entirely. It seems to be her main way of understanding the "Why" of just about everything. Her past life as a more "primal" creature has made her extremely self conscious, constantly trying to improve or correct her mistakes with single minded determination. She views herself as expendable, sometimes slipping into drastic self loathing which often leads to self-mutilation.

She has a deep love of beautiful things, often trying to connect with them after seeing so much horror in her life. This leads her to be sometimes vain and romantic, lacking in the cold logic that she wants to stray away from. Music is a deep interest to her, and constantly listens to various human artists while training herself or in deep thought.

If one were to speak to her, they would find a enlightened, educated, and personal being, that rarely talks about themselves other than her interests. She enjoys hearing tales of others heroism, holding them much higher than herself. When asked about her own exploits, she would shake her head and encourage others to speak.

Ultimately, she seeks peace, but has no way of finding it, choosing to slowly learn to overcome her personal flaws, highlighting her self reflection.

In combat, she is a wildly berserk figure, destroying her enemies in blood-chilling acts of rage, decorating her face in their blood and massively over killing the targets in wild blood craze. She has been known to sing or scream freakishly her voice mixing with that of the Ing that lives inside her. Concepts like honor seems to be difficult for her to understand once the fists are flying, unlike her out of combat parts. She seems to revert into a more "primal" creature, her thinking becomes simple and savage, a drastic contrast to her "normal" self.

Equipment

Standard Issue Luminoth Dark Suit: A relatively basic suit with almost no special abilities, it remains the only part of her that is well connected to her Luminoth roots. It has advanced life support systems and translator systems, and offers a high level protection from more adverse conditions such as combat. However, it remains a basic, if fairly high tech, suit.

Echo Visor: Her battles in Dark Aether came at the cost of her losing her eyes in a vicious melee that killed all her comrades. However, taking a Echo Visor that helped her see, she was able to adapt and survive in a world filled with hostiles. Without this tool, she is completely blind. It has been enhanced to show rough images of color, and has a high frequent sound wave emitter, showing the world constantly as the sound is always moving, reverberating within very small fractions of a second.

Luminoth Transport Ship: Lacking in weapons and even heavy shielding, while also being slow and awkward, this ship lacks any proper military use. It was taken from the Luminoth upon self-exile of her homeworld, and thus is not a mechanical wonder. However, it is a stealthy ship, capable of light reflection. A basic medical bay and suit repair station exist, both drastically inferior to Samus's famed ship.

Combat Related Skills:

Physically, X-Mav is one of the most powerful creatures you will ever meet. Having no weapons to survive in the harshness of Dark Aether, her body became a weapon. Massive, long forearms and legs, easily allowing her to take long steps at insane speeds, and she has been known to break objects under her grip, often accidentally, unable to control her vicious physical strength. In some reports, it is said that she tore her enemy in half as if they were paper.

The Ing that still move through her body provide her considerable resistance to damage directly, as well as regenerative properties. If she can run away from combat, or hide long enough, the process begins.

Lacking the full wings of most Luminoth, her already highly advanced body begun to adapt to its new way of movement, becoming strongly connected to all things relating this. Her physical endurance is otherworldly, having to survive injury in the conditions of Dark Aether.

Mentality: Her years of pure simple survival gives her unique reaction times to situations, often choosing to move before enemies have fully considered attacking her. The strain of such activities that require utmost mental reserve are strong, as she had to endure days of hunger and other Ing possessions. This is also a slight downfall, as she has trouble adjusting to creatures with personalities, as the Ing were a hated and easily killed enemy of hers.

Berserker: Completely unafraid of death and uncaring of consequences, all of her physical and mental abilities get improved at the cost of most logical thought. It is a confusing and frustrating state, often incredibly painful for her. It causes the Ing inside her to slowly try to overtake the living body, and will eventually kill her and the parasite.

In this state, the body begins to destroy itself to pump adrenaline into the body, as well as both light and dark energy, forcing it into overload.

Psychic Ability: Like most Luminoth, she has the ability to produce a barrier to protect herself against most weapons, but hers is considerably stronger due to the nature of it being based on her physical and mental being. Using this right before she runs down a enemy, she is difficult to properly injure. However, without the barrier she only has her armor and physical body to take blows, which the former is a much lower quality than most.

Light Manipulation: Able to bend light, she can appear invisible to most without the proper scanning gear, and even then can cleverly use this ability to produce false images of herself, which she used as bait when hunting Ing. This ability also goes to making items brighter or darker, often with the same clever uses such as making someones visor illuminate brightly, making it impossible to see, or making a area dark so she can hide.

History

Born to Aether before the great war, X-Mav was a mother and warrior dedicated to her people, choosing to live a life of relative comfort as she helped the Luminoth flourish in all of its glory as they furthered their colonization of the world, generating the power to survive joyfully through the planetary energy that radiated from the planet.

When the war began, however, she was one of the first to engage the Ing horde with all of her ferocity, proving herself a capable combatant, as well as bloodthirsty war monger. Despite the peaceful existence on Aether, something primal and fierce swelled inside her, clinging to her heart with hatred, both pure and dark, much like the world had become.

After several battles, she was selected to join the parties setting up "Light Crystals" to help further expeditions in Dark Aether. It is said that perhaps through her efforts, many of the crystals still stood until Samus closed the second dimension, ultimately creating peace. This, however, was not her fate.

While scouting a outlying reach near the Emperor Ing, the phazon enriched ground of Dark Aether, and the bulk of the Horde, her and her brethren were mercilessly ambushed, until only X-Mav remained, towering over the remains of her dark enemies. Her stomach empty and her body savagely injured in the most inhabitable part of Dark Aether, she devoured the hacked corpses of the dead Ing.

Slowly, like a clock with delayed movement, she begun to evolve, to become very much like the creatures that she hated so deeply. Her blood lust soared, sadism and strange primal urges made her savage and wild, unreachable by any of the brethren who found her later. She became a beast who preyed upon the Ing, soon accessing their thoughts and forcing them to her will with wicked satisfaction. It is perhaps due to her efforts that Samus did not have to fight the bulk of the horde, succeeding in her mission.

After Dark Aether was eliminated, X-Mav found herself to be a frightening, horrible creature that was unworthy of love or any kind of thanks for her efforts, which would remain a mystery to Aether forever. She instead choose a life of exile, becoming a hunter as a way to satisfy the proud Luminoth war spirit, and the partial Ing Possession, that had come to make her who she is now. She would forever be a creature stuck in a existence of never ending darkness, with a small light of hope that eluded her like the silvery stars in endless space.
