Factions, Families, Clans, and Empires
Augustus Romiare Apparent age:
Augustus is very feminine. His thin frame is slight with subtle curves, emphasized only by his short height at 5'7''. Because of his past, he is naturally thin due his 'eating habits' before his changing and leaves him around 139 pounds. In all, he can be described to have a regal, modest elegance. His thin, heart-shaped face is partially hidden by wisps and soft, dark brown- almost black looking- bangs along with his long neck. His eyes are very kind and a purplish-gray color which mixes to make a shade similar to violet. Usually Augustus pulls his hair back into a smooth ponytail with two bangs to hang on either side of his face. He leaves it out a few times but not very often. His body is pretty much complimentary to his face, and with his olive skin tone, it ties everything together. His arms hold faint scars from his past life, as do his legs but they are barely noticeable. Clothes include very flowing materials and clothes. This has made him taken a liking to the silken, flowing materials of Chinese and Japanese clothing- especially tones that are very pretty. Like reds and blues and greens.
Augustus is a simple man with simple needs. He doesn't ask for much and his demeanor, along with expression, is usually very modest and polite. Being a helper and a care-giver is his instinct so when new 'pets' come around, he always helps them. Cares for them, helps them get used to everything- the mansion and the hunger. That's just how he is. Sweet like pie but loyal to the core. If you are to gain his absolute love and trust, he will fight for you and defend you and treat you as if you were his own brother or sister or child. He's almost like a mother but in the sense that he sometimes is very fussy with the others and maintains the household.
It is no secret that he treats Sabine with a different love, though.
Augustus can be, however, very judgmental when you do not make a good first impression. Along with that, can come a patronizing and slight sarcastic, snappy side of him. Make sure you do not get him angry. Other than that, he treats everyone like a dear friend and a part of family. Truly, though, he has desires. He holds jealousy. Sometimes, it shows but he tries his best to hide things that he does not want to reveal. When things like that comes up, he is prone to running off to the nearest room that has a lock and staying there for hours and hours on end.
He holds himself slightly higher than the others, though.. He was chosen first and that makes him the closest to Sabine. He is, basically, the daemon's loyal, loving second-in-command. He expects the others to listen to him- both because he wishes that they will take heed and caution and because he was first. That makes him their superior. And people should always listen to their superiors.Likes:

He is very good with handling animals and basic household tasks (though cleaning pots and pans are tedious.) He can be very convincing and is able to run very fast- along with having good senses. Not to mention he can whip up a mean chicken pot pie. Sabine is teaching him how to read better since he's still a little clumsy with it all. Other than that, he's gotten quite good at the piano.
History: Augustus was born on a stormy night in a stable on his Father's farm. As a child, he grew up with an older sister who especially loved him- more than his parents ever would. She taught him all he knew and appointed him to be the ring bearer at her wedding when she was 14- he was five at the time. When his sister left the house, though, Augustus became acutely aware of the turmoil in the marriage. His Mother was withering away into a drunkard and smoker, his father had several mistresses that he hardly tried to hide and both had a hate towards him. In 10 years, Augustus's life changed. Life at home was horrible. It got to the point where his Mother flied into such a rage, he was kicked out of the house after given an hour to gather his things. After a month of wandering about, scraped up and cold and hungry he passed out.
And awoke to a new world.
Sabine drew him in and he grew to love the man. The man was so nice and the hunger for that blood made him fall even deeper. Life was wonderful- he with Sabine, both of them enjoying each others company. Sure the pain could be bad but those good times always made it go away.
When the new people came, he was happy. But yet, mad. He had the second good thing in his life all to himself and yet that was snatched away by another as well. Augustus learned to love them though.
Feelings on Others:
Kalani: Augustus looks at the girl as a little sister. Though he envies her beauty and her ability to be so flawlessly perfect almost every time. He could see now why Sabien picked her out. He doesn't hate her and she is good to talk to. He likes to bake and cook with her at times and they're the 'musicians', of sorts, in the house. And sometimes.. H-He likes to go to her or beauty tips. To pretty himself up. When she first came, Augustus made sure she could get used to everything and comforted her through everything.
Helen: She's such a sweet thing. With such beautiful clothing as well! Augustus is reminded of a little, perfect doll whenever he looks at the girl. Sometimes, he goes to her to teach her how to bake and cook and sew better. In return, Helen helps him with his reading and cleaning. He thinks of her as a close friend- especially when they have little play dates. He likes trying on her clothes and things- they even switch clothes sometimes! It's really fun.. Like a little sister!
Ruth: He loves her out of all the girls. She reminds him of his older sister so much. He reminds her of his past. At one point, it hurts but at the other, it gives him joy. There have been plenty of times where she has taken Sabine's rage for him and he has taken Sabine's rage for her. In short, Ruth is the one he treats the best. She's really nice, too.
Nicolas: That-He-Oh-! Augustus is torn between being flustered at his flirting and teasing or to be completely jealous. It's a mixed bag of emotions. The man is a mystery, a never ending scientific equation-- and when he thinks he's figured it out, figured out what Nicolas as, a new variable added. It's so infuriating! That man is so infuriating! Oh, do NOT even get him started when that man flirts with Sabine. Oh. OH. It's like the village boy in him flares up. No, no, he loves Nic. Just hates him so much. He wishes he could be like him sometimes. Just pure, unadulterated... envy. Augustus maintains a friendly tone of voice with Nicolas and more than not, laughs at his antics sometimes though scolds him later. And just like Sabine, the male is trying to get the taller one to get along with dogs. Augustus can not, however, contain the look of envy and smothered jealousy when Nicolas flirts with the Master. [ I almost made Augustus's thoughts go ghetto on Nicolas. > u > Hur derp. ]
Colette: Let me love you. That is all Augustus can think about the little girl. She is the sweetest of things, the most fragile of flowers that is slowly wilting and if you touch it, the petals will break and the flower will die. He is prone to swooping the girl up in his arms, playing with her hair and basically, mothering her. She is a lovely little thing and Augustus hopes that she's fine with his constant squeals of delight when she gets dressed up cute or looks cute or does anything cute. Which is basically all the time because Colette is.. just...- so cute~!
Valentine: At first, he thought that the man was wonderfully polite. But then he found out his gender- and everything turned around. There were times were he'd gotten so mad after an argument with him that he's locked himself in a room. And thoroughly trashed it like a wild animal had been caged away. It is like Valentine.. Brings out that defensive part of him that knew exactly what to do. Augustus, for those first few weeks- maybe a month or two- though him to be quite similar to the boys back in his old home. The ones that beat him up and called him so many hurtful things.. And that Augustus took pleasure in thinking about how many ways he knew he could hurt them- but just wouldn't do it. Now, he is friendly towards him. The red-head is forgiven. But if Valentine chooses to disrespect him again, he will not hesitate to show him how much of a man he can be.
Artemis: Augustus is indifferent towards him personally. He is a mysterious case- a never ending question. It sometimes makes him frustrated that he can not figure the other out but those are somewhat petty things. Artemis is polite and kind, he must say, and has done nothing to make Augustus think less of him or anything. He does like when the male listens to him play piano. He thinks it calms Artemis.
Cleaning was something he took a special pleasure in. He could vent out all frustrations, beat out the dusty mats and scrub the hardwood floor with vigor. All his anger from the day poured into polishing, fueling an acute desire to make everything just sparkle. Everything must be cleaned. Augustus dealt with the dust fine, eyes narrowed against them ever so slightly as he looked around. When everything finally got fanned out of the place, it would look much better, he was sure of it. Nodding to himself, he prepared to get the broom before familiar arms wrapped around his form. His cheeks heated, his heart soared and he sighed happily, turning to smile at Sabine. "You're back," he breathed.
Now things were better. His frustrations gone, his happiness returning, and his darling Sabine back home. With a surprise no less! Things would get better now, he just knew it. Willingly he followed Sabine, gripping the broom loosely as he tittered.
"What ever could it--"
As his eyes lay on a delicate little child, with cute, big eyes, and hair in curls. She was adorable. Magnificent. The perfect.. pet.
Augustus dropped his broom and his grip on Sabine's arm- which he had grabbed as he was being pulled- grew slightly limp before tightening a great amount. If the blonde had given his hand, the results would not be as pleasant.
Something snapped in him.
Another little girl for him to play dress-up with, to love, to care for, to get all of his fucking attention and not him, or the others, how could he do this without telling him, bringing this fucking thing into the house. Clearly a replacement. He'd grown old, had he, grown out of his use so he'd be pushed away to the back because oh yes, he was a broken one, much too old to be with the new pets, the young pets.
Young. They seemed to get younger and younger, but that was just another thing that fueled his absolution in his ideas. Replacement. Too cute, too angelic. Her quite demeanor would win him over-- hell, that'd happened already, Sabine adored the little, sweet, cute girl, soon he'd be wrapped around the girl's finger.
He subtly shook with rage, face stone cold, all happiness and glee drained away with a black fury that was transparent all the way through, but had overwhelmed his body.
Augustus slowly smiled and leaned forward, hugging the dear heart gently. "Hello Amara," he murmured before picking up his broom again. "I need to clean." The man walked away, stiff, robotic in his movements, back up the stairs and to where he'd been cleaning. Look at all these things. A few gifts had been from him, hadn't they. But they had collected dust, unused in corners. Shutting the door behind him, Augustus swiftly knocked a glass vase over that he'd bought Sabine.
He ripped clothes he knitted, unleashing his rage against the inanimate objects. His fury was nearly tangible this time, claws ripping at anything he could get, glass smashed against walls as he locked himself in to wreak havoc as he saw fit. That stupid, horrible, insufferable man- how dare he- have the nerve-to get rid of HIM!
He's been there from the very start! The beginning ever so faithful, loving. Wasn't his love enough?! He would do anything Sabine wanted, be anything his Master wanted. But yet-- that wasn't enough. The blonde craved more-- always more-- got bored of him. Why couldn't he be the only one? It wasn't fair. Nothing was ever fair. He could handle the OTHER FUCKING SEVEN people.
Next thing, it would be nine-- ten-- hell, even thirteen! The thoughts came in a flurry, hitting Augustus blow after blow, fueling his sorrow, his immense rage at the situation to heights it had never reached, to touch on thoughts he had always pushed back, feelings he never wanted to face. Jealousy, suspicion, intense anger with each- little- PET that became the object of his Sabine's affections. Everything poured into smashing everything he found fit, everything that he'd made out of love, of care, that was old and obviously untouched.
Some showing care and not trying to hurt her was new this strange man seemed to truly care and want to take care of. Why should she fear him for that, he was being so kind to her. She keep her head against his chest holding on to her rabbit doll, her eyes shut. She was as happy as pie at this point....he felt so warm and so safe....
She looked around that blank looking never changing. She cocked her head at the large gate ad walls and eyed the grounds. Fallowed by he large door and rater large home. All so new and all so big. She looked at the few people that could be spotted and blinked a few times the word 'big family' dancing about in her head. Family she was not use to, she was an outsider.
Up the stairs to areas with many rooms to count. She looked at him when he told her this is where she would be staying than back at all the rooms. The area with the books but the promise of being read to was wonderful to her....it meant some one cared to take the time with her. Amara moved some when they went up to the third floor. She blinked at him when he sat her down in front of the large doors that lead to his room. She held her rabbit doll in her lap and looked up some when he gave her the pat on the head. She keep in the spot he left some what playing with her rabbit doll. unlike most children she keep where he put her.
When Sabine brought Augustus out to meet her. she looked at the tall man who made her think of a high end china doll. The type that looked like a prince or high born. The breath taking angelic build...was this man made of star dust and porcelain going to be her family? but his anger at her made her pull back some she clung to her doll more holding it to as tight as she could.....'why are people so cold to me....why did they hate me...am I that bad?' was all she could think.
The smile and hug that Augustus gave her felt ice cold and forced. the moment he let go she darted be hind Sabine hiding from Augustus. The way he walked off that robotic stiff movements. She could tell he was angry, and she blamed her self for his anger. Every loud sound, every sound of something being hit or ripped she cringed, only to cling more to Sabine.
Sabine didn't grasp the thoughts, the emotions afflicting his oldest pet. Perhaps because he only saw what he wanted to see or perhaps because he couldn't fathom such a reaction coming from his little Lark. That someone could be upset while he was so bright and excited. He looked after the dark haired man as he moved back into the room. Well, he was busy, that made sense, Sabine supposed. He'd come back later then and thank his little lark for cleaning more than was required from him. He reached down and lifted the little poppet up again, she'd run back to him after Augustus gave her a hug. Perhaps she was shy as well as mute. Of course, she'd only just been introduced to all these things, just picked up off the street. Considering, she was taking this whole thing rather well.
"Let us find the others and introduce you, yes?" He said as he carried her back down the stairs and through the halls.
After Ruth responded Kalani looked her over skeptically. The red-head didn't looked to pleased about having to remain 'calm and still' for any length of time, which the woman took to mean that she was alright in the grand sense of things. It looked like Artemis had things under control. That was a bit surprising, admittedly. Artemis, of all people. Maybe he was finally getting used to the manor. That was a good sign, his opening up. Now if she could just help Valentine out of his stiff shell. That didn't seem very likely without force, however, so Kalani thought she'd better leave him be.
Then the light haired young man began to read. The words on the page seemed to reach up and swipe him up, replacing him with some similar faced boy with a flowing voice and great amounts of inflection. His face was flushed, and he seemed to see nothing but the words on the page. Kalani decided it best to retreat again, and moved quietly to stand by Helen again. The young woman looked slightly troubled for a moment, but shook it off as Kalani neared. Curious. Kalani wondered what she was thinking. She noticed that the petite young woman had hidden her basket behind her skirts, and that made the faint creases of a frown line her forehead and mouth. Hopefully this wouldn't close her up again.
Sabine passed Valentine and Nicolas again on his trek to the sitting room. He hadn't been upstairs for very long. "Come." He said shortly to them. He didn't want to make his speech too many more times. If he could get every one together it would make his life much easier. So to speak. Of course, he went out of his way to tell of Augustus, because he was, well, Augustus.
Then he made his way to the room again. Oh, Kalani and Helen were there now. That made everyone except for Collete. He'd find her later, he supposed. She was delicate, he could forgive her for being so little and fragile, for not wandering around. Perhaps she was still playing with the kitten he'd found. Ariel. He had a better pet than a cat now though. But perhaps the little girl would like a kitten. He had no clue what little girls liked, actually.
Once he emerged fully into the room, he stood for a moment, waiting for their attentions to be drawn to him. It appeared that Artemis was reading to Ruth. The other two were watching on. Once all the heads were turned towards him, he set Amara down again. "Look who I found." he said proudly, even though they were most likely already looking at the strange, wide eyed little girl. "She ran into me. She doesn't say much though. I call her Amara." He paused for a beat. "Poppet, there is Artemis, Ruth, Kalani and Helen." He made a gesture in said pet's direction as he said each name. Then he shifted to look behind him as Valentine and a rather pale Nicolas joined them. "And there are Valentine and Nicolas. This is Amara."
Sabine grinned widely, it was obvious that he was quite happy with his find.
