These "creatures" are said to make the natural disasters that have been destroying the world occur. The "protectors" are the real evil beings because they're trying to destroy the world and take what's left of it for themselves, but nobody else knows that. They think that the "creatures" are the bad ones that want to destroy everything, so these "creatures" are in hiding or trying to live among the others in the town in peace. Very few people go in and out of the town for fear that the "creatures" will be let in or they could be annihilated if they go out (or not be let back inside the town). Only a small authorized group goes out rarely when their town is in need of supplies which they get by scavenging until the whole town gets enough of all they need to become self sufficient. Around the town is some sort of border, with very few entrances/exits. All of these are heavily guarded with "hunters" who are trained to take out the "creatures"(If needed)and capture them.The "creatures" Understand that they can be discriminated against, but as soon as they get wind of scientific experiments being placed upon their friends and family, there's going to be an uprising. The creatures are going to start getting into a mess of trouble that will only hurt their reputation. That's when the hunters/guards start keeping a tighter grip on the border.
