~Setting~
Welcome All!
This is Mountain High Academy, a school for ALL species to co-exist and get a great education. The early history of this castle has been lost
with time, but the known history begins in the 1900's. This prestigious school began as an orphanage in the early 1900's for those "unwanted" children. Cold, isolating, and lacking love many perished here until it was closed down in 1930. It is said that the spirits of children still haunt the castle today. There are also some unfriendly spirits who roam about too, but most of the spirits are friendly. After alot of renovating, it reopened as a school in 1942 and goes from Preschool to 12th grade. However, we do also have a small daycare for younger children of teachers and staff. The school is located in the beautiful mountains with what are said to be healing hot springs. This place also has a few secret passages, so watch where you are going, though many were blocked off when the renovations took place. The school headmaster/headmistress still works with Social Services to do adoptions because many orphans end up here, but there is no abuse and cruelty like back in the 1900's. Private tours are available by appointment for those who are interested in enrolling their child or are adopting a child and would like to keep them enrolled in here. The school also has open houses throughout the year for those interested in enrolling, but space is limited, so applications must be done quickly. The school tours are led by the headmaster/headmistress. During the Summer, there are tours of the castle for those who want to learn its history.
And yes, the school is handicap accessible.
Let me give you the tour!
This is the entrance hall. In the middle is a grand staircase that leads to the classrooms and dorms.

To the right of the staircase you can find the offices where new students can enroll and take care of important business, and to the left is the very large cafeteria and the ballroom.
Classes begin the day after Labor Day and end in mid June, usually around the 15th. Registration for the next year opens in April and parents must register their children by August 1st. Current students will be given a form to bring home asking if they will be attending next year which parents must fill out whether or not the child is coming back. Seniors are exempt from this of course because they won't be returning unless they are held back, in which case they can pick up this form from the office, but this is exceptionally rare. There is also a Thanksgiving Break, a Winter Break, and a Spring Break. Students who are living on campus and don't stay over the summer can begin moving in within a month prior to the first day of school.
There are also midterm and final exams for students in 6th-12th grade. Midterms are a week after the students return from Winter Break, usually taking place in the second week in January. Finals are the last week of classes, except for the 12th graders who are graduating and take them towards the middle/end of May. Graduation/commencement is on May 30th. After finals, the seniors have graduation practice and the day before Graduation, a Senior Picnic. Prom is in the beginning of May, around the 9th. Also, if the teacher opts out of the midterm or final in exchange for a final project or paper before the scheduled date, the student is not required to show up that exam period scheduled for that class' exam, unless told to do so by the teacher. Exams are two a day and students are given 2 hours for each and are released after the second exam, resulting in a half day.
12th Graders (Seniors) also get privileges. These include being allowed to eat lunch outside instead of in the cafeteria, Senior Skip Day, which is usually the day of prom, leaving early if they have study period last or leaving for study period, usually to the library or such instead of the study room which is a classroom, but the student must sign out and then back in before the period ends if signing out for the period, and have permission from a parent/guardian, unless they are an orphan and obtain permission from the headmaster/ headmistress. They also get the parking spaces closest to the school. The headmaster/ headmistress reserves the right to take these privileges away, also including prom, the senior banquet, and graduation for disciplinary reasons.
School Hours are from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM for the Day Class.
The Night Class is from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Preschool and Kindergarten are the Morning Class, which is from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
And the Afternoon class which is from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
The Dusk Preschool and Kindergarten Class is from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM. And the Night Preschool and Kindergarten Class is from 11:00 PM to 2:30 AM
We also provide a Full Day/ Full Night Pre-school and Kindergarten.
The full day Preschool and Kindergarten classes are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The full night Preschool and Kindergarten classes are from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM
There is also an after school program with planned activities for students with teacher supervision and for homework help. The After School Program for Day students is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and the After School Program for Night students is from 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM.
Weekday visiting hours for the families of students
are only during the student's study period. Most students go home for the weekend, but for students that don't, parents are free to visit and spend time with their child/children any time on Saturday and Sunday until the curfew hour for the students' class.
The Day class is for day creatures such as humans, nekos, and elves.
The Night class is for those who roam the night, such as vampires, demons, and werewolves.
Students have weekends off and are allowed to go home to visit family. Same goes for long holidays/vacations. Older students (teenagers) are also allowed to get jobs at the local town where the hockey games take place. Buses and shuttles also run on the weekdays after school and on weekends to the town so students can go to relax, buy things they need, etc. A parent/guardian signed permission slip is required, until age 16, however, orphans require permission from the headmaster/ headmistress which can be done through a teacher. usually the one supervising the trip, for younger students, and permission slips must be turned in within the first week of school. Permission is also required for field trips.
On Saturdays, the orphans are given the chance to meet prospective parents who are given a free tour of the school and get to meet with the children as they play or do any other activities. Prospective parents are allowed to also go up and interact with the children and start the paperwork that day, which takes about half a year or more to finalize. Also, during the months that are taken to fill out the paperwork, the prospective parents must do at least three more visits with the child. Teachers are allowed to adopt too as long as they're responsible and pass the home study and everything. Adoption Day lasts all Saturday starting at Midnight on Friday, which is really the beginning of Saturday and goes all the way into Sunday morning until 8:00 AM.
Many different sorts of activities are planned and offered for those who choose to stay for the weekend or those who have to stay. Younger children are supervised at all times while they play. Note: All students get a map upon arrival and a guide with tips and the school's rules/regulations. If they lose either they can get a new one in the Main Office.
On the sides of the stairs there are small sitting areas or lobbies for the students to hang out. The doorway in the back of each lobby leads to the pool, auditorium/theater, indoor playground, gym, etc.

And here, to the left of the stairs down the little hallway is the Cafeteria.
It's much larger than it appears in this photo. This is where all our
students eat, but at different times so as not to crowd the area.

Afternoon Preschool and Kindergarten dine at 2:15 PM.
These are basically just their snack times.
The full day Preschool and Kindergartners have their snack at 10:30 am

Recess is right after lunch and lasts 45 minutes for each group of grades leading up to and including 5th grade. 6th grade and above do not get recess. At the end of a class groups' recess a bell will ring, an announcement will be made, and students will line up in front of their teachers. Teachers may give their students extra recess for good behavior during the week. Preschool and Kindergarten have separate outdoor time usually built into their daily schedule before snack or lunch time.

This is what the serving area looks like.

This is the kitchen. Students are not allowed in here, except with a teacher for things such as Home Ec. class, but many still try to sneak meals back to their dorms. Only small snacks are allowed in dorms but they MUST be bought! If the staff catches you trying to sneak/steal food, they can give you a detention or send you to the headmaster/headmistress' office.

This is the Grand Ballroom which is next
to the cafeteria. Formal events such as school dances are held here.

This is the hallway to the right of the stairs.
There are entrances to four offices on each side.
The first one on the left is the Main Office where
new students take care of any important matters.
The second one is the Admissions Office
where new students register. The third is the infirmary/nurses' office where
injured or sick students go. And finally, the fourth one is the
Guidance office where students can go to talk to
counselors about their feelings. They also guide
students in choosing what colleges they apply and
are accepted to. Each students gets a counselor.
The first door on the right is the Financial Aid office where students
can apply for financial aid. The second door is the Student
Exchange Program office in charge of the Student Exchange
Program. The third door is the Adoption Office where
all adoptions are taken care of. And finally, the fourth door
is the Disabilities office where students can apply for disability accommodations.

This is the Main Office.

And this is the Admissions Office.

And over here is the infirmary. Here sick or injured students
will be helped by our kind, dedicated doctors and nurses. Doctors and nurses also have the option of a staff dorm, but within the infirmary
there is a small office for doing paperwork and for the doctors and
nurses to get some sleep if they do not want a dorm. There are also a few examining rooms. Also, parents must call here if a child is going to be absent. If the child stays at the school, the RAs must inform the doctor/nurse of any sick children who are going to be absent that day after they prepare and get the other children off to class.

This is the Guidance Office.

This is what the guidance counselors' small personal offices look like:

We also have a Financial Office to take care of monetary issues. The tuition is $6,000 a year for Preschool and Kindergarten and $12,000 a year for 1st to 12th grade. Students and parents can apply for financial aid here. This makes it possible for students from even the poorest families to attend. There are also partial and full scholarships available!

And this is what the offices of the people who run the chapel looks like. There is an office for each religious official that runs each type of Mass/Ceremony. These offices are next to the chapel and are decorated by those who reside in there. There is also a living quarters for them.

And this is the Student Exchange Office which is in charge of the Student Exchange Program where students can spend time in another country learning about their cultures and go to school there, living with a host family for a few months or living at the school. We also have exchange students come here
from around the world.

Here we have the Adoption Office where all Adoptions are applied for, processed, etc.

And this is our Disabilities Office. Here students and parents can apply for necessary accommodations for a student's specific disabilities.

Here is the security office where security guards can be found on and off duty. The guards also have options of a staff dorm, but there is a small area in back to sleep or relax if they would rather not have a dorm. You also can report any crimes or suspicious activity here.

This is the School Store where you can buy school
merchandise such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, instant and snack
food, uniforms, etc.

This is what the gymnasiums look like where our P.E. classes are normally
held as well as indoor sporting events. There are two right next to each other with a wall that can be hidden away to create one large gym.

We also have an indoor track for the late fall and all winter.

This is the Gymnastics Studio. We offer level and recreational. This is also used for gym classes.

This is the workout room. This is a place for students to work out and stay
in shape. All students must sign in before and sign out after using
the workout room. Also must be at least 12 or older to use this room
unless with a gym class or other class and students must be spotted at all times.

And over here we have the indoor pool.
Students are allowed to swim here when the
swim team isn't practicing or when there's no gym class in there.. It's open 24/7.
We also have swim competitions here.

These are the Locker Rooms. The two locker
rooms are essentially the same. They come with full
shower and bathroom facilities. There is one for the boys
and one for the girls.

These are what the showers look like. The toilets and stalls look the same as they do in the normal bathrooms on every floor and the stalls/urinals are in another small room across from the showers.

This is the newly installed indoor playground for the
children to play on during indoor recess due to inclement weather.
Older kids can play too when the little ones
aren't there. The room is also soundproof from the outside because the walls are two inch thick soundproof glass.

This is the theater where our
Drama Club and Acting/Singing/and Music Classes perform. Also, every Saturday is Karaoke Night. Karaoke Night is from 8 PM- Midnight for everyone.

This is the Chapel where Mass is held every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. There is also Masses/Ceremonies for Holy Days. The Chapel is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for prayer. Reconciliation is offered all Day and Night Saturday and into Sunday Morning until 8:00 AM. There is also Sunday School in the regular classrooms upstairs Saturdays and Sundays for kids in Preschool to 8th grade. We also offer religious classes. Also, there are different Masses/Ceremonies for different religions and the pews can be moved to accommodate.

This is the mail room where all the student's mail
goes through. Each residential student, meaning they live at the school,
has his or her own P.O. box. Families and children can send letters back and forth and adoptive parents can send letters to those kids they are in the process of adopting.

This is the Tutoring Center where students can get help if
they are struggling with any subjects. There is also a writing center to get help with writing papers.

These are the elevators. There's a large row of them.

This is the what the bathrooms look like. Every dorm has
a bathroom, but there's also a boy's and girl's bathroom
on every floor and a handicap bathroom also on each floor.
The girl's bathroom obviously won't have the urinals. Instead,
it's more stalls for them. The handicap bathrooms are unisex (Both Sexes)
so please knock before entering.

And here is what the Handicap Bathrooms
look like. Each one has rails and other accessibility features.

We also have a small daycare for the teachers and staff at the school. The daycare watches mostly the babies and toddlers, but will care for slightly older children until they are ready enough to be involved in school and after-school activities. They usually start preschool by age 3, though. There are a few of each room so that it won't be crowded.
This is what the Infant Rooms look like:

And these are how our Toddler Rooms look:

And this is what out Infant/Toddler Playground looks like. It is right outside the daycare area and is enclosed. Infants are given rides in carriages and/or allowed to crawl around under close supervision.

And this is their indoor playground in with the main indoor playground room.

Here on the first through seventh floors are the
hallways with all the classrooms.
All the halls would stretch out a few miles on each floor
if you were to lay them straight. The first floor are Preschool and
Kindergarten. The second and third floors are elementary school (1st-5th),
the fourth and fifth floors are middle school (6th-8th), and the sixth and seventh floors are high school (9th-12th).

These are the lockers for the students who don't live at the school.

This is what the Preschool rooms look like. We have a program for 3 year olds and one for 4 year olds. Those entering the 3 year old program for the first time must be 3 or turning 3 by September 1st and those entering the 4 year old program for the first year must be 4 or turning 4 by September 1st. If a child is not ready to move on, they may stay an additional year in the same program, but must enter Kindergarten by age 6. Accommodations for children with disabilities are available.

And this is what the Kindergarten rooms look like. Those entering Kindergarten for the first time must be 5 or turning 5 by September 1st. As with the Preschool program, if the child is not ready to move on, they may stay an additional year, but must enter first grade by age 7. Accommodations for children with disabilities are available.

This is our Disabilities Classroom. We take all students, including Down Syndrome and Autistic children. We also specialize in helping those with Learning Disabilities. We do provide regular classroom accommodations and integrate them into the regular classes as well, but this is where those students can go for extra help.

Here is one of the the Art Rooms where students express themselves visually. Art is required until 6th grade. After 6th grade it is an elective.

And this is one of the music rooms for those "musically gifted" students. Of course, music is required until 6th grade. 6th grade and above it is an elective like art. We offer lessons in Trumpet, Trombone, Drums, Violin, Piano, Bass Guitar, Regular Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Cello, Tuba, Saxophone, French Horn, Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, and Voice coaching and lessons.

This is the Computer Lab where Technology and Computer classes take
place and where students have Internet access for homework
and other such things. There are fourteen computer labs in all throughout the school. Two on each classroom floor.

These are our science laboratories where students explore how things work. Also, Alchemy is taught in these labs.

This is the Observatory for Astrology Class.

This is one of the wood shops for our Wood Shop class.

And here is one of our classrooms for Home Economics.

This is one of the Automotive Class classrooms.

We also offer driver's education to people ages 16 and up.
This is one of the dance studios we have where our ballet, jazz, ballroom, salsa, modern, Bollywood, and tap dance classes take place. We teach all levels of dance. This studio is also used for the karate classes. All levels are taught in that too. We also do recreational.
This is one of the photography classrooms. The Dark Room is in the back.

Here's what the regular classrooms look like. Also, not all classrooms have windows and teachers may decorate their rooms as they like to make it more interesting and age appropriate as long as the posters and things are appropriate for a school. Also, in 6th grade students begin changing rooms for classes. They have homeroom in one of the classrooms and then switch classrooms for each of their classes.
1st-5th Grade:

6th-12th Grade:

This is the student news room. Every day at 6AM, Noon,
6PM, and Midnight the news is on which contains daily school announcements and events. It also contains the major stories of events around the world and the local weather report.

On the 8th through the 13th floors are the dorms.
Floors 8-11 are for the day class. Floors 8 and 9 are the all girl
dorms for the day class. Floor 10 and 11 are the all boy dorms
for the day class. Floors 12-15 are for the night class. Floors
12 and 13 are the all girl dorms for the night class. Floors 14 and 15 are the
all boy dorms for the night class. Students Who do both classes and pick whether thy want a day or night dorm. Living in the dorms is for everyone, though usually it is students in fourth grade and above because the
younger ones often get homesick, but we DO accept young boarders beginning at Preschool age. Of course the orphans automatically get dorms, despite age and those who live too far to travel everyday also are allowed dorms.
The dorms go from 0-50,000. There's alot of dorms and
the hallways twist and turn. If you stretched
the halls out straight they'd be over a few miles long.
There are carpools and buses in various places around the school
for the younger students who don't live at the school and
students who don't want dorms. All dorms are for at least two people,
though there can be as many as four in a dorm,
except for the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who are
the oldest students and have the option of a single dorm.
Rooms are same-sex roomates. There are a few room styles to choose from for students. Each style of dorm can be adjusted to fit in four people.
The 12th through the 15th floors are darker to
accommodate the night class students. All dorms
are equipped with bed(s), dresser(s), nightstand(s),
desk(s) with a computer on each desk, a bookshelf
for each student, a bathroom, a small kitchenette and
a television. There are also teacher and staff dorms
at the end of each hallway on each dorm floor. Teachers
and staff also have a few dorm styles to choose from. Yes,
some do choose to stay here. They help maintain order.
There's also a few Resident Assistants, or R.As on each floor.
These are adults and/or student volunteers who are in grades 11
and 12. Students may apply to be an R.A towards the end of the year the year before they enter 11th or 12th grade, but must maintain at least a B- average. RAs for the year are chosen by the beginning of July, before school starts, and all applicants will be sent a confirmation or denial letter when the choice has been made. Students who are denied may apply for the next year. Also, if grades fall below a B- a student RA will be warned and if the grades do not improve that student's RA privileges will be suspended, then if the grades continue to fall or do not improve, that student will no longer be an RA. All students will also be informed of who the RAs are for that year and what floor and dorm they are in and their class schedule by mid to end of July. They also help maintain order and make sure rules are followed. Each morning they help the small children get ready and get to their classrooms. They also report sick children to the infirmary. Teachers and staff have single dorms and a full kitchen, along with the features of a student dorm. Day class curfew is9:00 PM for grades Pre-K-6. Night class curfew is 5:00 AM for grades Pre-K-6. Older students may stay up later, but should get to bed at a reasonable hour. Students may no
t have friends over, play any loud music or cause a ruckus after the
curfew for the younger students. Have some common courtesy to fellow
students. We have adult volunteers and student volunteers come and
help the smaller children get ready for bed which includes bathing,
brushing their teeth, getting tucked in, etc. There is also a cleaning
crew that comes and changes sheets and such every other week.
Also, not all dorms have windows.

Also, some dorms have a balcony. The doors can be closed and locked so little kids won't go out on it without adult supervision, but mostly the rooms with balconies are given to older students.

Here is the library where students can
do homework, study, or do research for
projects. There's also a cozy fireplace
with sofas and chairs where students
can curl up with a good book. The library
is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Same during the Summer.

We also have a childrens' section for the younger kids set in the back of the library.

This is the Student Lounge where students can relax and
maybe get some sleep. The room also has vending machines, games,
and other fun things to do.

This is the Teacher's Lounge where teachers
can relax, grade work, or talk to other members of the staff.

This is the headmaster/Headmistress' office. Stay out of trouble and you'll never have to go here. The headmaster/headmistress also has his/her own quarters to stay in located right off of the office. He/She also has a full kitchen.

This is the Detention Room for the misbehaved students.
Day Class detention is from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM every day and
Night Class detention is from 2:00 AM to 2:30 AM every day. Saturday Detentions are from 8:00 AM to Noon for the Day Class and from 8:00 PM to Midnight for Night Class students.
The school punishment system is as follows: 1st offense students get a verbal warning. 2nd offense students get detention. 3rd offense students get sent to the dean's office. Depending on offense the dean can give students a weekday detention which are everyday after school from 2:30-3:00, Saturday detentions which are half a Saturday each, a suspension, or expel the student(s).

This is the laundry room. Dirty laundry is collected every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Clean laundry is delivered to the dorms. Please make sure all clothing has labels on it so that the right clothes are delivered to the correct dorms.

Underneath the school are the dungeons
where it is said that they locked up the
orphans in the past who misbehaved repeatedly.
It is said to be the most haunted, though many
are afraid to go down there. This area has been
preserved for historical reasons only and for the tours given
during the summer. Students aren't allowed down here unless with
a teacher for a history class or such.
This is what the cells looked like. Very dark
and dank, often during the 1900's
the children would be locked up for days
or weeks with barely any food or water.
Tragically, many perished in here. Again, it has only been kept
for historical reasons. And students also aren't allowed here unless
with a teacher for a class.

Here, we have the parking lot for students who have their license and a car. Students must get a pass from security to park here.

And this is the faculty parking lot. Students may not park here. Parents who are picking up their children can park in the student parking lot.

Outside, this is the playground for
the children to play on during recess.
Older kids are allowed to play on it too
when the younger ones aren't there.
Everyone is allowed to be a kid again!
There's slides, swings, monkey bars
and even a tire swing. There is also a
mini playground for the preschool and kindergartners
who don't feel comfortable on the larger one. This one
also has slides, swings, monkey bars, and a tire swing.
Big Playground:

Smaller Playground:

We also have a groundskeeper who takes care of the lawn and flowers around the school. He/She lives in a cottage on campus, and is NOT like Hagrid from Harry Potter!

Here is the forest next to the school.
Teachers will take their classes on
nature hikes and such, but the only
students allowed in here without
supervision are students in 6th grade and above.
Deep within the woods lies a lake and an elven village.

Here is the lake that lies within the forest.

This is the Elven village, though few have been able to find it.

And over here are our outside sports facilities.
Yes we have an outdoor
pool, but it is only open from
Memorial Day to Labor Day. We also have an outdoor
basketball court for nicer weather. Some students do
stay over the summer because we offer many
camps. The outdoor pool is open until 2 AM and the
gate is locked after hours. Our school's team name is the Bengal Tigers

Higher up in the mountains is our hot spring where people
like to hang out and relax to get rid of
stress. There is also a small juice bar.

This is the graveyard where the dead children who
lived in the orphanage were buried. It is said that at
night you can see their spirits wandering about if they're
not in the castle.

Here we have the gardens. One garden is full of flowers for students to sit and relax by, basically our courtyard. And the other one is a separate garden where fruits, vegetables, and herbs are grown by the garden club and used daily in the school's meals and by the home economics classes.

*Note: Castle is ALOT larger than it appears

School sport colors are black, white, and red.

OOC Notes
A heavy sigh escaped Zahina's pale lips as she sat alone in her dorm room. She was dressed in a black and purple lace lolita dress with black fishnet stockings and matching black spiked shoes. She had a matching bonnet in her long, blonde hair that went down to her mid-back. Her baby blue eyes gazed boredly at the mattress of her loft styled bed, which she was sitting under at the desk area. Her desk was littered wuth papers, food wrappers, and a few bottles of AMP energy drinks and Japanese soda. The little trashcan next to it was full. She pushed the black sheet hanging from her bed to make the desk area private back and rolled back in the computer chair. The rest of her room was dark, except for the dim wall sconces on each side of the television that sat upon a small table. Her dresser had some bracelets, choker necklaces, and other gothic accesories. The walls of her side of the room were covered in posters of metal bands, anime, and movies like Nightmare before Christmas and Repo the Genetic Opera. She looked over at the other side of the room, which was basically divided by the small table with the tv and saw it's emptiness. It had been different since her roomate had gotten transferred to another school.

OOC Notes
Miyuki walked down the empty hallways, making her way to her dorm. The only sound she heard was the sound of her foot steps. When she got to her dorm, she walked in and went straight to the bathroom. She took a nice shower, and came out with one towel wrapped around her body, and the other around her wet hair. Miyuki looked through her drawer and pulled out a white tanks top, with a t-shirt over. She pulled one of her favorite short jeans and slipped it on. When she was done dressing up, Miyuki pulled the towels off her head and grabbed her hair dryer to dry her hair. When her hair was finally dried, she combed it, so it wouldnt be tangled.
She took a look at her desk, only to see a stack of books she couldnt clean up just yet. With a small sigh, she walked over to her desk and started to put the books back onto her book shelf. Miyuki sat down on her bed, after finishing what she had to do with a smile.

Dahlia slowly pulled herself out of the taxi that hat taken her from the airport to her new home, Mountain High Academy. Home, the word echoed silently through her head and ricocheted through every fiber of her. The Principal of her old orphanage grabbed her bags from the trunk and stood beside. "Dahlia isn't this going to be wonderful, look at how beautiful the architecture is, Simply stunning." Dahlia looked at the school, ever conscious that the Mrs. Hewet was still not looking at her. She never did, her scars unnerved the older women. "Well" Hewet said "It's been a fun year I've had with you but I am afraid we must say our goodbye's." It was cloudy and past dusk so the seemingly touching hug that the two shared would never be found that it was only just happening for the reason of, I have too. After that the taxi drove off, leaving Dahlia alone on the front steps.
It was 9:00 when Dahlia finally with her minimal luggage arrived to her dorm on the tenth floor. She stepped out of the elevator into darkness. It was then that she found out that her request of a day dorm had been denied. A slight quiver ran through her but she held herself together. The hallways was long but thankfully she did not have to go far to reach her room. Her hand was shaking when the key was inserted into the door. With a metallic click the lock opened right when she heard the elevator opening from the right. She could not see anything from that direction and she hurriedly pushed her way into the room. She flicked on the lights illuminated a very nice traditional style room. Like the rest of the school it was gorgeous, but there was something wrong....something out of place. The room was a double. It was empty for now but fear gripped the girls small body. She fell down and brought her knees up against her and began to cry.

steps from the elevator and smiles at the sweet darkness. she walked over to see the lights on in the room she was assigned to. she smiled and stepped in seeing a girl on one of the beds crying. why would someone cry? my this place is fantastic! and the darkness adds on. Ivy flinched when she first saw the light then she smiled and droped her bags on the empty bed and smiled even wider as she twichted her fox ears and her tail wave around slightly.'' Hiya! im Ivy!'' she said walkinging over and holding her hand out to the girl.'' im your new roommate! isn't this dorm great?'' she said smileing with her vampire fangs showing.

Crying, Dahlia never heard the door opening until the other girl was right next to her.
''Hiya! I'm Ivy!'' The girl flashed her a smile that fully showed her vampire fangs "I'm your new roommate! isn't this dorm great?''
Dahlia continued crying and looked up at her new room mate Ivy. At first she only saw her fluffy tail and she started to calm down slightly but as she continued to look the older girl she saw her teeth and her fangs. Dahlia's cries continued but she forced them to abate, this was reality, she must be strong. She knew she looked horrible, her hair disheveled, crying, shaking in fear, her scars and blind eye probably didn't help matters. She couldn't think straight, she was to scared. She quivered and took a large breath trying to stop her tears. "I'm......I'm....I'm dahlia." It was difficult to even say that. She sniffled and wiped the tears from her eyes but some just came out again. Slowly she was getting herself under control but her fear of the girl in front of her and the memories it was causing continued to make her shake with fear. "The dorm...... it is great." She wasn't quite lying, The room really was amazing...it was just....it was in the night. Dahlia tried to return Ivy's smile but it didn't come out right and she never quite smiled, she only succeeded in giving a fake greeting and flashing some teeth. She sniffed again "I'm sorry" she said softly before another wave of tears rocked her. She didn't cry out but the tears fell anyways.

Dahlia was struck as the girl left. It wasn't physical but it made her feel horrible all the same. It weighed heavily on her mind throughout the day. During lunch she only ate normal meat and fruit. She refused to take blood any more then what was required to survive, even animal blood. After her classes she stopped off in the library and picked out a few books to read and returned to her room. She completed what little homework she had on the first day and read until Ivy returned.
When she did Dahlia was all but asleep. She was not used to sleeping during the day. She had not done it since she the incident. "Ivy..." she said slowly but clearly. "I am afraid of you, but I am more afraid of myself." She opened her mouth to show Ivy her fangs. "I am afraid of the night." She returned to her book and waited to see how Ivy would react. She hoped that Ivy didn't hold what happened earlier against her. She wanted friends and a new life, she really did. It was only that this want was always coupled by fear.

Zahina stood up and stretched a little. She had heard some new students moving in, so she decided to get up and wander a little bit. She grabbed her dorm key off of her dresser and also slung her Invader Zim messenger bag around her neck and shoulders. Slowly she opened her door and peeked out her head before stepping into the hallway. She jumped as the door slammed by accident, but shook it off as she began to walk down the long labyrinth of hallways, twirling her key chain around her index finger. All she heard was the light echo of her footsteps in the eerily quiet hallways. Zahina stopped, frozen in place though, when she heard a creepy child-like giggle. She turned around on her heels and saw a little ghost girl standing there. The child had long brown hair and was dressed in a long white nightgown. She held an old raggedy ann doll in her hands. Her hazel eyes glistened in the dim lighting of the hallway."Oh..hello," Zahina said. "What's your name?"
The little girl did not respond, but simply smiled. She motioned for Zahina to come closer, which she did, but as soon as she was within feet of the apparition, the little girl took off down the hallway. "Hey wait!" Zahina called out as she ran after her. She ran, twisting and turning down hallways, but when she turned the final corner, the girl was gone. She sighed a little, looking down at the ground. Suddenly something caught her eye. The doll! She slowly picked it up and examined it. It was an old 1910 raggedy ann doll. The white dress was stained and shabby with a few holes in the seams. The cold black eyes stared at her lifelessly as she wiped some of the non-ground in dirt off it's face and red hair. Zahina looked around, wondering if anyone was in the dorms and if anyone had heard her or the ghost.

Dahlia was dumbfounded. This proved that the girl was harmless and someone she could trust but she was absolutely clueless. Dahlia let a small giggle escape until she burst out laughing. "Ivy, I do not want to talk about it." She sighed and felt a tear coming to her eye as her mind remembered the horrors she had gone through.
''Did you hear that?'' Dahlia stuck her head out the door and watched for a moment She received a very creepy feeling and quickly shut the door. Something was not right and it scared her. "If you want to know why I am afraid you can just look at my face and see the tip of the iceberg." She sat there for a moment, allowing the silence to ensue. It was nearing 5:30, her curfew time but she wasn't that tired anymore. "Ivy, I think I am going to go and watch the sun rise. It will calm me some." She got up out of bed and put on a small orange hoodie. She opened the door and took the stairs out to the main floor. She then snuck outside and over to a large oak tree in a garden near the dorms. She sat in the area where the shade of the tree would cover her from the sunlight. After spending years in the day her body had built up an immunity to sunlight, but it was still damaging if she stayed in it for too long. She arrived at the tree just as the sky was getting lighter and some of the stars blinked out. The sky was gorgeous, the light chasing away the darkness, chasing away her fears. Just as the first rays of light drifted through the trees she felt her eyelids give way and in the shade of the tree she finally fell asleep.

Kein'Vei was up well before the sunrise. His empty dorm was uncomfortable. The doors and windows were closed and Kein'Vei felt like he was caged and there are only a few things he is more afraid of then being trapped. He could wake and be active at anytime, that was simply a trait he had. So he wandered out of his room quietly at quarter to 5. Lucky no one spotted him as he explored the various floors of the Academy. He noticed a few other students wandering around and he figured they must be the older ones in the night class.
For a moment he wasn't looking where he was going and rounded a corner, nearly running into a blond haired girl. He stumbled back and stammered an apology. She seemed the same age as him and that made him uncomfortable. He picked up his pace and set off back downstairs. Not looking back and pulling his arms closer to his sides. Although he couldn't help but notice the doll in the young woman's hand and wonder at it. He thought 'If it was hers he shouldn't be surprised, this is an odd place with odd people. Not that someone that age with a doll is very odd'. It was going 5 when he arrived in the garden.
Kein'Vei looked around, savoring the freedom in the air. A stout, old oak shifted its mass of leaves in the wind. The rustling was like a beckoning to the youth. Who was next to it in a shot. He looked at the branches, struggling to find handholds in the moonlight. Eventually he found a knob that he could cling on to and he bulled himself up into the foliage. He had gotten about halfway up the height, hidden by the leaves, when he found a large branch arching back towards the building. He made himself comfortable upon it and leaned against the hard wood, looking at the brightening sky.
As a yellowish haze flickered on the horizon Kein'Vei heard a nearby door open and looked to see a small girl wandering out into the garden. He frowned in thought, surely she should be in bed, no matter what school she was in? He noted the grey of a coloured hoodie. That brought up another question. Who would wear a hoodie at night, it wasn't particularly cold. Kein'Vei couldn't see the girls face in the shadow and dark of the night. But he watched her as she came and leaned against the tree trunk. The light crept up even more. The dark sky turned blue and the sun's halo was a blood red-orange. It was a spectacular sight.

There was a rustle in the tree above her head that caused Dahlia to stir from her sleep. The early morning sun was beautiful, no architecture of the school could possibly compare to what she saw and was feeling right now. She heard another rustle and looked up to see a boy sitting in the tree. As she looked up her hood fell off revealing her scars. She was a bit self conscious about it but decided to not do anything. It really wasn't cold it's just that as much as she loved the day, to much of it could hurt her. The boy didn't look to be of the night class and so she decided to take a chance. "He...hello.." she said softly. Even if he wasn't of the night class, it was hard to shake her fears but there was this feeling in the back of her head. Something urging her on. "I'm Dahlia, Do you...Do you enjoy the sun rise too?" It was a stupid question but she was tired and her mind was not really on at the moment, it had been almost 2 days since she had last slept.

Ali sat in front of his computer editing some photos that he had taken a few days before but had been busy with a painting that he had been working on that was still unfineshed but he needed a break. Looking out of his window the sun was rising and he saw this as an oppertunity to get some dawn shot with the tree line in the foreground it had the potential to look really nice. Grabbing his large canon camera and his other digital camera he also grabbed his ipod liking to have music as he did his work. Looking at his scedule for today it wasn't that bad Maths, two hours of art and english. Ali groaned loudly he truely hated english they had been informed to read a book so they could complete a written essay in the lesson. Two thing that Ali did not feel comfortable doing reading and writting he could do it but he just couldnt read or write well enough so he just stayed silent in english lessons only really speaking when nessesary. He had been told to go to private tutouring he hadn't even shown up for the first session he was embarassed that a child his age needed help with reading and writting.
Sighing he stood up and made his way quietly to the stairs that led to the garden. Plugging his headphnes into his ears Ali pressed play and Alesanas latest albulm had started blasting in his ears putting the ipod in his back pocket and both of his cameras around he neck he walked for a while letting the music sink in.

Kein'Vei watched the sunrise, quiet and content. He closed his eyes and bathed in the warmth, that was before a little voiced called up from below him. He opened his eyes and looked down through the green to see a young girl gazing up at him. He was slightly taken aback by the awful looking scars running down her face. He quickly recollected himself and smiled down. She seemed slightly nervous and pale, although the complexion seemed to be natural and not fearful. The girl introduced herself, 'I'm Dahlia, Do you...Do you enjoy the sun rise too?' Kein'Vei lay on his front along the brown brunch and responded "Yes I do Dahlia. But its not just the sunrise. Its everything. And I guess you enjoy it too." He grinned and began to clamber his way to a lower brunch that was not directly above the eight-year-old. He dropped himself down and announced, crouching a small distance away "I'm Kein'Vei, but that a odd name around here so you can call me what you want." He smiled again.

Miyuki yawned as she got up from her bed. She quickly changed into a pair of jeans and a sweater over her tank top. Before she left the room, she grabbed a bag full of animal food and ran out the door. She went into the garden and looked around. 3 cats who always seemed to be together poked their heads out of the bushes and rushed over when they saw her. Miyuki smiled as they meowed and rubbed against her legs. She bent down and reach into the bag, taking out 3 cans of cat food, and carefully opened it. She put it down on the ground, then grabbed out a large bowl, pouring some milk into it. She watched the cats eats, and try fitting their heads together so they can get a drink of milk. Miyuki giggled and petted on on the head. It looked up and meowed. The other two jerked their heads up, hearing someone else heading this way and ran off. Miyuki sighed and cleaned everything up, stuffing them in the bag before getting up.

Zahina looked around. A boy had bumped her, but had disappeared before she could say anything. She wondered what time it was and if it was still dark out, so she walked over to one of the windows at the end of the hallway and slightly pulled back the curtain, peeking out. The sun was rising. She decided to go outside for a bit before she had to turn in for the night, well day actually. Luckily, being only one-third vampire, she could slightly stand light, but not for very long. It would still burn her. She started to walk down the hallways, towards the stairs, being cautious for any staff lurking to get the Night Class students like herself back into their dorms because it was nearing curfew hour for them. She passed a few of the empty R.A desks along her way and finally made her way down the large staircase in the front of the school.
There were a few older students still wandering, some were Night Class and some were Day Class, most likely early risers who liked to use the indoor pool. She pushed open the large front doors and stepped outside and immediately sought shelter in the shade of a tree. She had forgotten her sun umbrella back in her dorm, so she really wouldn't be out long. She sat down alone under the tree she had chosen and stared at the rising sun. She still held the old doll the ghost girl had dropped in her hands. She would have to return it if she ever saw the girl again, which she most likely would. She had seen the same spirits lurking around, though every once and a while she'd see a new one. The ones that scared Zahina most though, were demons. She shuddered at the thought of some of the demons she had faced here before. Slowly, she let her thoughts wander back to the beautiful sunrise before her. She noted there were some other students there, but was unsure of whether or not they were in her own class and plus, she wasn't very outgoing anyway.

Dahlia watched as the boy's face turned from surprise to something gentler. He climbed down from the tree and crouched down a few feet from her. "I love the sun rise. More then anything in the world." She smiled and let the sunlight bath her. It was dangerous for two long but she didn't care anymore. "Kein'Vei." she laughed feeling wonderfully light in the morning. "I like it, It's not weird at all." She turned her face back to the sun rise and looked around at the growing light. She felt a few tears running down her cheeks. She could no longer stay in the day, she was being forced into the night, back to what she tried so hard to escape from. She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked back out at the sun coming up over the trees. Slowly she moved back into the shade to avoid being burned. She yawned loudly and stretched her arms out. She needed to go to sleep but she didn't want to leave, this might be the last sunrise she'd see for awhile and it saddened her. She smiled again, she didn't know what to say. She wasn't good at speaking to others. "Hey Kein.......will you...will you do something for me?"

Ali looked down as a girl sat down beneath the tree he was perched ontop of, he had decided to climb up there to take some pictures which seemed to have worked really well. Looking at the girl he sighed slightly grabbing his camera bag he put it around his shoulder and jumped of from the branch he was on rolling on his shoulder to break his fall he stood up. "Sorry if i scared you" he said pulling the headphones out of his ears. Placing the camera back into its case and wrapping his heaphones around his ipod slipping that back into his pocket.

Kein'Vei listened to Dahlia, smiling at her enthusiasm as he leaned back against the tree from his previous position, still no closer to the girl. Others had entered the garden by now, busy in their own things. As the 11th grader looked around, glimpses of other worlds flashed across his vision. They were like layers of tracing paper, images interposed on top of one another yet completely separate. He shook his head and focused back on the present dimension.
Turning to Dahlia after her musing of his name he pressed the conversation "Really? You think so? I think it is kinda unusual. I mean I don't even have a last name and it sounds really... exotic." Slowly he stopped, noticing the child looking away. He leaned forward in order to get a look at her face but she wiped it and shuffled out of the sunlight. Kein's brow crinkled with concern "Are you alright?" he asked gently, worry in his voice.
In what seemed to be a response, although it may not have been, Dahlia turned around and asked 'Hey Kein.......will you...will you do something for me?' This gave the boy pause, the strange request seemed odd. Her demeanor suggested that she wouldn't dare to ask anyone such, specially someone she had just met like Kein'Vei. However, he was a kind soul and nothing could contain that. He nodded, smiling and said "Sure. No problem. What is it Dahlia?" As he waited for a reply Kein surveyed the garden a bit more. He noted a teen aged boy at the top of a large tree with what seemed to be a camera. A similar aged girl was making herself comfortable at the foot of the same tree. Kein'Vei was slightly surprised and embarrassed when he recognised the blond hair of the girl it the corridor.

Zahina gasped and let out a small scream of alarm as the boy jumped down. She put her hand on her chest and took a few deep breaths. She looked up at him as he apologized for scaring her. "I'm sorry if I scared you," he said.
"I-It's ok," she replied, "but please, next time give me some kind of notice that you're up there." She put the Raggedy Ann doll down on her messenger bag and that sat next to her, leaning against the trunk of the tree. She pushed a strand of blonde hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear. "S-So.." she muttered nervously, looking down at the ground, fiddling with the lace on her dress, a nervous habit she had. "I-I guess you came out to enjoy the sunrise too huh?" Her voice was quiet, a shy whisper. Her gaze shifted for a moment to the other people wandering about. It stopped at a boy, the one who had bumped her before and disappeared. She shrugged though, not really wanting to bother him for such a small incident.

He smilled lightly and nodded "yeah, i thought it would give me chance to get some fresh air and take some good photos so double win really" he said speaking more or less in the same tone as the girl. He titled his head to the side "Your in the night class aren't you?" he asked. Ali hadn't seen here before in any of his classes and just assumed that she was in the night class, but he had seen her around just not talked to her.

"Are you in the night class?" She heard him ask. Zahina nodded her head in response to his question. "Y-yeah. I usually just stay in my dorm room when I'm not in class." It was true. Usually, the only time she left her dorm was for food, class, and ghost hunting, and maybe every once in a while if she was extrememly bored or maybe a bit curious like she had been today, but other than that she confined herself to her dark room. She felt the most comfortable in there. She leaned back against the tree and put her hands behind her head, relaxing a little now because this boy seemed friendly enough, unlike the snobby popular cliques she saw walking around the school, acting as if they owned the place. That was the one thing she always disliked about schools was the cliques, especially the middle and high school aged students. She smiled slightly, exposing her smallish fangs partially. She looked at the camera bag after he said he had come to take pictures. "S-so, you're a photographer then?" she asked, though it was obvious the answer was yes, but she had asked anyway.
OOC Notes
He seemed worried for her when she kinda teared up and his voice was full of sincerity. "yeah...I'm fine, I love being outside but...I burn really easily." It was partly true, not quite a lie. She wasn't comfortable telling people she was a vampire. In fact most of the time she wanted to forget that fact as well. She was glad to hear that he would listen to her request. Maybe he really was what she was looking for. "umm.....well..... I'm not good at this but....." she looked down. "Will you... will you be my friend? no matter what happens.... can I... Can I trust you to be there?" She kind of shuffled her feet. this was embarrassing but she wanted to meet new people, make some friends and this person, Kein... He just seemed like someone she could trust, someone she would not have to be afraid around.

Ali nodded "yeah and artist so probably when i transfer the pictures i might enlarge them and paint something, so i'll keep you informed on my work" Ali explained "oh where are my manners? i'm Alistair. Ali." he added holding his hand out for her to shake if she so wished.

I am definitely going to join this, I just have to decide what kind of character to make.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
I might join this. :D Still looking at the first page.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Hm..still quiet...Hey anyone know how to delete posts? I'd like to clean up a little and maybe re-start. Just the rp posts though! The description is fine and can stay with the photos and such.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
It's quiet.. <.< >.> Let's see if we can get this RP started up again!
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Sorry! I couldn't remember my screen name or password! I finally got it again and logged in! DX I really would like to revive my RP.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Well to be honest, this one isn't really progressing anywhere. I'm locked in interaction with and unresponsive RavenBell unfortunately which has led to nothing happening at all. But you're welcome to try and get it going again. Well no it doesn't work like that, they're NPCs, Non-Player-Characters. You control NPCs you create, they're sort of minor side characters in addition to your main one.
Hope that is clear enough. Wow, you are really new... I do kinda suggest you get involved with a newer roleplay, one that hasn't started yet. Then it might be easier, but I can't really say.

Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
I like this a lot. I've never done rp before but it seems really cool. But I'm a little confused... So, since nobody is rping all those adults on the first page, does that mean that our characters can't visit the guidance councilor, or interact with teachers, or get in trouble because nobody rps these characters? sorry if this question is dumb...I'm new at this.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Yes, I just made it part of the profile application to say what class everyone is. Zahina is night class.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Which characters are in the day class or night class? I mean i can probably guess but I'll rather not assume and some don't seem to fit in either.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Lol. I did my entry. I may post again though tonight.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
COME ON EVERYONE, THIS RP COULD BE GREAT, GET POSTING XD
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Sorry... this roleplay tab thing is new to me (I'm used to before the tab!!) so I just made my character and submitted it :P. This sounds really interesting and I can't wait to start posting :D
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
My god....I have to make a character for this. I am leaving for dinner atm but when I get back...soooo joining
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
Thanks! I look foward to seeing your character and I spent time editing it before posting here. This is as decluttered as it can get.
Re: [OOC] Mountain High Academy Boarding School
This looks REAALLYY good. over-complicated maybe but complete. I'm certainly making a character. I do suggest you sort of... declutter it.
