Introduction

Congratulations, you have won a free getaway to the luxurious Ridgewood Manor. Be spoiled by our top of the line staff, enjoy five star cuisine, take a stroll around the courtyard, share a dance with a fellow guest in the ballroom, converse with ghosts, listen to howling wolves, fight for your lives. All of this and more should you so choose.

[The Object of the Game]
Ridgewood Manor is a gaudy three-story mansion equipped with all the luxuries any human heart could desire. The guests of Ridgewood are selected from all reaches of life and only share one common trait. They are all kick-ass roleplayers. Your character will be summoned to Ridgewood on the belief that they are enjoying an exotic vacation, however, what they don't know is that once they arrive, they are locked in with a ravenous murderer on the loose. Only catch is; noone knows who. That is excluding the murderer themselves. Your object is to be a detective of sorts, judging by the conversations that you read and by the bizarre actions of your fellow guests to discover the identity of the murder before you are chosen as his or hers next victim.

So how will you know without this being ridiculously easy?
The major giveaways of the game will be discussed over private message.
Further explanation needed? Of course, I wouldn't leave it at that.

[The Murderer]
Once all character profiles have been submitted, I will private message one of the contenders and tell them that they are the murderer. This person must not give any obvious clues to their identity, or I will select someone else. They must act as a normal guest - bummer. However, before each killing they are required to do one common nervous action while speaking with their victim, this could be blinking flirtatiously, running their fingers through their hair, nudging their nose. It could even be a trigger word (not phrase, that'd be too easy) Just make it very subtle. After speaking with your victim you must not use this action again until after you have killed them, and you must wait a good number of activity in the roleplay, at least five replies before private messaging your victim and telling them they have died. After you have selected, even I won't know you have done so.

[The Guests]
You absolutely must converse and interact with other people of the mansion, using vivid expressions of your own. This can be used to your advantage to throw off opponents. I know, conversing with people - terrible right? To keep things interesting for you, go on dates, explore the mansion, form alliances, whatever. But how do you save yourself you ask - if you think...without a shadow of a doubt, that you know the murder's identity hold a private conference within the members of the house declaring your suspect to be the killer. The catch - If you are wrong, my character: who can not and will not be the murderer by the way, will execute you where you stand. Oh and one more catch - I'll change the murderer once you do. If you are a victim you must create a death scene (it does not have to be in the room where the murderer made the lethal gesture) but do this by referring to the murderer as a darkened silhouette without using the words he or she. You are allowed to have near death experiences, but cut yourself off right before death so we know you can be saved.

But don't fret, death is not the end of this game!

[Ghosts]
Naturally, to become a ghost, you must die. If you are a victim of murder you may do one of three things to draw attention to the murderer.
-Shake the house when you see them use the action or word (if you have figured out what it is) two, three, or four replies after they have done it. No more, no less.
-Flicker the lights in the room where you and the murderer had your fatal conversation
-
However warn me before doing so, because is the murderer is bombing and being really obvious, I will have to refuse. Sorry.
Your ghost can have interactions with other members of the household but can't tell people how they died. Act as though you were alive, just...with ghostly qualities. This keeps your from kissing, from cooking, from bathing, etc However you get the benefits of being able to walk through walls, become invisible, possess people for fun, and peek in on your ex-lover in the shower! ^^

[The Mansion]

- The Courtyard
A beautiful lawn, with a winding cement bath that hosts a large fountain, a love seat swing, and picnic tables for outdoor eating
-The Maze Garden
An extension of the courtyard, this is the perfect place for you aspiring damsels in distress to be attacked
-Kitchen
One of the guests will make the meals every night, as my character will refuse to. You can take turns, equipped with plenty of knives making this a perfect spot for the murderer to make his move if he should so choose
-Ten rooms, if we get more characters than this you'll have to bunk up!
These rooms are your only sanctuary, and you cannot be killed here, with the exception of the suite (Hey, they had to have a catch.)
-Two suites
-Five normal bedrooms
-And three small storage rooms made to make due for unfortunate souls who get bullied out of a room
-Three bathrooms
Each of which only have a sink, toilet, and mirror and one with a tub
-Shower room
Not exclusive to either gender, so if your character is self-conscious they will have to wait until everyone has gone to bed, giving them prospect to meet the other guests, or the murderer in the hall at night
-Ballroom
Ideal for flirty conversations with other guests.
-Lobby
A large empty room with staircases on either side that leads to the second room.
-The Dining Hall
-Pool Room
-The study
Equipped wall to wall with bookshelves, and a sub-par art studio.
-AND the attic

I will add details to these later so check the introduction frequently

This game is a text and conversation driven game so have fun with it. Make your characters eccentric and suspicious. I expect activity from every one person at least once every day, with a limit of three offenses. It is intended to end, however if this goes well, I'll make it a chronicle with different locations.

[Laws]
Do not confess you are the murderer or if you are a guest, do not say you aren't
You cannot kill yourself!
No out of character speaking here, and no fighting.
Be descriptive, I expect at least ten lines with a limit of three offenses!
You are not allowed a weapon for defense - Why would you be? You wouldn't have known the situation in the first place! :D
No explicit sex. However romance is both encouraged and welcomed!
Language is appropriate in the right circumstance just don't overdo it.
I'll update the rest later, but you must have fun!

I prefer anime pictures, and don't mind history if you want to include it but I don't require it.

# A mansion in the center of an isolated forest, 2011-06-09 18:17:37, as written by PeachesNCreme
Christine gazed at the beaming woman in the vanity mirror. Although she was on the second floor of the mansion, she could hear the bustle of her guests filing into the manor, one by one. It was an enhanced sense of hearing she had acquired from a years worth of nights of isolation. Large, heavily made-up, golden eyes glowed with a sadistic happiness, as she finished removing curlers from her light brown hair. She just had to look her very best – Neither to win a man, nor be the envy of her female guests, but they deserved to look upon a beautiful face in their final moments.

Piercing the second earing through a hole in her ear, she noticed her fingers quaking with a bizarre anxiousness. She had everything planned, where to hide the bodies, how to secure the prisoners, and how she was going to manipulate one of her guests to be her pawn. After flipping through pages and pages of character profiles Christine had managed to find a group of the utmost negatively charged and eccentric people a collector could ever wish for, and of them, one who might just be crazy enough to play along to her demands. A social experiment that would go down in history books for eras to come, she liked the sound of that. And she was the ring leader of it all.

Downstairs, she heard the sound of the guests chattering impatiently as they awaited the instructions of their host. She scurried over to her closet and pulled out a flowing maid’s outfit. Tightening the strings of the corset Christine came to the conclusion that not only should perfection not be rushed, but that the guests may as well visit amongst one another for a while, to get a better feel of the people they would be sharing the next few weeks with. God knows they needed it.

Carmen finished loading her bags into the cab. She was tired after a long flight. About a week ago she revived a letter in the mail inviting her to the Ridgewood Manor. She decided she needed a break and it would be fun to get away for a while. So she packed her bags and headed out. Once she slipped into the cab she pulled her long blonde hair back in to a pony tail. "Ridgewood Manor please" The cab driver gave her a crooked smile. 'Right Away Ma'am'

After about a half an hour of driving the cab pulled into the Manor gates. Carmen took of her sunglasses revealing her crystal clear blue eyes. "Wow." She jumped out of the cab once it had come to a stop. She fixed her short skirt and her halter top. The cab driver helped her carry her luggage into the lobby. "This place is beautiful!" Carmen handed the driver a tip and he walked away. 'Enjoy your stay' He said closing the door. "Okay then..." Carmen walked around the lobby looking at all the wonderful paintings on the wall.

She went to the front desk but no one was there. I must be the first one here She thought to her self. Finally she yelled out "Hello is anyone here?" There was no response at first but then she heard a ruckus from up stairs. She figured it was one of the workers or other guests. So she sat in one of the chairs in the lobby. She could hear more cars pulling up to the Manor. She ran over to a mirror in the lobby. She fixed her hair and touched up her make up. You never know who she could meet here and she planed on having a good weekend.

The rain had been unrelenting, and finally arriving at the gates of Ridgewood manor, Markus was filled with an overwhelming relief. He pushed open the manor doors with a palm of his hand and entered through a curtain of downpour, dragging a fair sized suitcase behind him that carried only the most practical and necessary objects. The fact that he had been in countless mansions before this did not stop him from being impressed by the uncontaminated state that it was kept. Cleanliness is next to Godliness; if it weren’t already a quote he would have been the founder.

A grin ran along his structured jawline as he was pleased to find that he was one of the first to arrive. Punctuality, punctuality, punctuality. That’s what everything had always surmounted to. It was the way to win people over, the way to land a job, the way to get the best choice of an array, to get the food while it was in the best condition. The list could go on for pages.

Although he was disappointed to find he was not the first; he was happy to discover that the only other being in sight was a female. Having not been informed on the what sort of characters would be joining him, he didn't know what to expect. He approached the girl with an offered handshake and a charming grin, "Looks like we're the only ones here. Nice to meet you. Markus."

Annabelle was sleeping in the back of her Ashton Martin while Patrick drove her to Ridgewood Manor. The car screeched to a stop, shaking Annabelle awake.
"Have we arrived, Pat?" she asked groggily. It had been the only decent sleep she had gotten for a few days.
"Yes, Ma'am," he said as he got out of the car and came around to open her door. Annabelle stepped out and Patrick retreived her luggage and followed her up to the house. She looked around, admiring her surroundings. She then opened the door to reveal a stunning lobby. Annabelle took off her sunglasses and placed them on her head. Patrick set the luggage down beside her.
"Is there anything else you need, Ma'am?" Patrick asked.
"Oh, no. thank you, pat. Take care of the Martin with your life," Annabelle responded as she handed Patrick a $100 bill, "and enjoy yourself." She then found herself admiring the paintings and scanning the room. She spotted a young women with long blonde hair and beautiful blues eyes. She decided to talk to her to see if she was anymore informed than Annabelle, herself. As she headed forward, her sword clanking against a side table. Annabelle caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Gosh I must look like a pirate is what went through her head at that point.
"Um, Hello there. I would hope it would be safe to assume that you are either a guest or someone who works here," Annabelle said softly.

Jack was enjoying the fresh air of the countryside in his 1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster. he loved the wind hitting his face in his topless car. The scenery was very beautiful, not exactly Gladsborough in May, but still, nice. As he approached the Mansion he would be staying at, he was still wondering how he had been invited to stay here when he had just woken up from a 13 year coma. Well, that was the official story, but Jack had been very active those past 13 years. Though they all had been spent working. Jack angled his rear view mirror so he could look at himself.

"Let's see if all work and no play has made Jack a dull boy." He said with a charming smile.

He pulled into the driveway, he admired the classic Victorian masonry mixed with other influential styles. Whoever owned this house has exquisite taste. He pulled in and killed the engine. He then stepped out of his car and took in another deep breath. "Nothing like that country air." Jack opened up his trunk and brought out a set of matched luggage of white leather matching his white suit. He rolled them to the front of the house and pushed open the door with a glove covered hand.

Once inside the lobby, he placed his luggage down in a corner and looked about the room. It seemed that there were 3 other people here. All of them looked rather young, and beautiful at that. Jack approached the trio while taking off his sunglasses. "Good day everyone! Lovely to see some fellow guests here. I say, do you know if they will be serving food soon, I am absolutely famished." He said, his smile never leaving his face. He then shot out his leather gloved hand towards the male of the group. "Jack Simon, it's an absolute pleasure."

Markus grinned at the two new arrivals; extremely pleased with how quickly things were moving along. He absolutely deplored sitting around idly, but the conversation was nice. The two kept the conversation flowing and had a certain charisma he found appealing. One of the questions posed by the male caused him to remember how hungry he actually was. Chuckling he placed a hand on his stomach, "Can't say I know, but if they don't soon, I'm afraid I'll have to whip up something myself." Not aware how close to the truth he was ironically reaching. Accepting the handshake offered by the other male he was glad to notice a confident firmness to it. He hated the current meek and timid mannerisms of most people his age, so it was refreshing to see a man he could get along with, rather than desire to strangle, "Markus Williams," he replied, "Likewise."

Rin Lupus

Unlike others who were arriving to Ridgewood Manor by car or limo, one man had to take an 11 hour flight (screwed up slightly by the changing time zones), a cab, a bus, and was now speeding down the slick forest road on a scooter. Rin Lupus had left China after finishing his work for the magazine, pocketing enough cash to last him over for a good while, even with the cost of the plane ticket. Now making his way slowly there, moving only by the power of his own feet, with his suitcase strapped onto the base, his own left foot keeping it from falling off. It was raining, but not that badly; with his camera case tucked under his waterproof coat, he didn't mind getting a bit wet. His hair was damp, clinging to his neck and brow, while little streams of water trailed down his arms as he gribbed the handle of the scooter. Any other time, Rin would have stopped and taken some pictures, but he knew he'd need plenty of memory for the upcoming say at the mansion.

Eventually, the Manor came in sight and Rin slowed down. He skidded to a halt at the front porch, looked up and saw how large the place was. He took a few steps back and pulled out his camera, being sure to keep it shielded from the falling rain. He snapped a shot, taking his first picture of this little adventure: the mansion, and all its mystery. He smiled to himself lightly, then put his camera back into its case and heading into the building. He folded his scooter up and left it on the porch, planning to retrieve it later once he got settled into a room.

Rin stepped into the lobby, quickly noticing all of the people gathered already. Sighing a bit unhappily, Rin tucked himself into the corner next to the coat rack, huddling to shake off the chill. He passed the time by observing each of the people already there, trying to place who they were and where they came from. After a bit, he took his camera back out and took a picture of the group, then zoomed in and took a bunch of individual pictures of each of them. He huffed slightly as he finished, rubbing his hands together as he waited for something to happen. Surely their host wouldn't make them wait for long...Rin didn't fancy tring to pass the time by talking to these peole. That was for the socially adept, not the social observer.

Not for the person that was thinking how beautiful that girl would look with her hair on fire, or how that guy's face would contort in pain if a sword was run through his middle. It was always the same with Rin: he appreciated the beauty first, then started thinking of the best way to bring that beauty to its peak. Rin shuddered again, but this time not from the cold, and clutched his necklace. Drawing comfort from the cold silver, he forced those thoughts down into the recesses of his brain. You weren't crazy until you let your thoughts become reality, and Rin had yet to cross that line.

As Daniel's cab slowly rolls up towards the large mansion in the distance he had seen many other vehicles past him. He counted three before a man walked past him as the cab driver was taking his time going up the rainy dirt road. As they approached the mansion the cab driver asked, "So what are you doing at a mighty fine mansion like that? You sure as heck don't look like you belong there buddy." The cab driver quickly glanced at his passengers clothing and the snorted saying," Heck if I care."

Daniel's inside started to boil as the cab driver mocked him for his clothing. He might of been the richest man in the world, but he sure wasn't the poorest. He sure would of enjoyed leaving a nice red pool behind him for the man's impudence towards him, but instead he replied on a even tone, "I am here on a...special business trip. I was invited for some gathering of a sort and I plan on expanding my business if I can here." As they rolled up in the front of the mansion, Daniel put back on his black fedora and grabbed his suitcase, brief case, and put in his earphones as he paid the driver and quickly ran for the door.

He opened the door to the sight of two very beautiful women and two men who looked just as wet as he was. He took his fedora and earphones off and approached the group greeting them in a friendly hello. As he assessed the small group he started to wonder what kind of people they were, how much money they had, how can they help his business, and how many more would be arriving on this rainy night. He put the thought aside for now and said, "It is a pleasure to meet all of you lovely people on this stormy weather of a night." He chuckles softly as to lighten his own mood for his benefit. He then added, "Daniel Samuelson pleasure."

"The pleasure is entirely mine. I am Annabelle Todd," Annabelle said as she extended a hand to the man, Daniel he called himself, "does anyone know the time our host will be joining us?" She turned bright red as she spoke out loud. She never liked speaking to people unless she knew them very well. Annabelle looked down at her feet.
"So, erm, where's everyone from?" Yes stupid. ask another question, that'll make you appear smart. Annabelle didn't like appearing stupid. It went against every thing she believed in. People judge you most often encounter on your ability to speak. He's kinda cute, she thought of the newcomer, Daniel. She looked up and smiled shyly at him. Her pale grey eyes looking him over. A few light blonde hairs fell in her face and she brushed them out of her eyes, A delicate dragon ring with emeralds for eyes adorned her pale finger.

The door creaked open revealing a tall handsome man with silver hair and piercing eyes. He looked a little disappointed when he first saw her. But soon came over and introduced him self. 'The name is Markus'. "Well Hello there, I'm Carmen." She gave him her flirty smile. The next two to walk in were both blonde. The girl had a young beautiful face. She was almost dressed like a...pirate. Carmen still thought the girls sense of style was cute. The boy was older. Almost had a slight arrogance to him. The man reached out to Markus and introduced himself as Jack. The next person who entered Carmen didn't notice right away. He slid into the corner and pulled out a camera. Carmen gave him a sweet smile. Then another man entered and walked straight up to the group. He said his name was Daniel. The blonde female introduced herself as Annabell. "Hello my name is Carmen." She said introducing herself to the new comers.

Just being dropped off, Jenny looked around seeing she was not where she had expected. "This is not what I was informed this would be like," Jenny's angelic voice whispered as her ride there left. "In fact this is way better," she exclaimed clearly excited as she picked up her stuff. Jenny hurried along a path to the front doors of a huge mansion. Standing in front of the building Jenny thought to herself, 'Wow I didn't trip or anyth-' There it was the next step she took Jenny tripped and all her stuff hit the front door with a loud thud that echoed through the lobby slightly. 'Now I did it, I buried under my luggage,' Jenny was covered from her knees up in the stuff she had brought with her. She thought she would be at a higher class place, so she brought her make-up, fancy clothes, and many other supplies she might need while away. This was certainly not what she expected.
Jenny dug herself out and sat with her knees in front of her and feet to her sides. Rubbing her head Jenny spoke aloud to herself, "That was not supposed to happen at all." As she looked up to the door it began to open and Jenny's face flushed beat red with embarrassing without knowing who was even going to be there.

So, a few other people in the room. Not impeccably dressed, but certainly better groomed than he strictly needed to be - no point making a bad impression - Ulysses, also known as U (he loathed the tale of his pathetic "clever" namesake) entered the building. Just a simple mansion, it seemed, nothing excessively fancy on a comparative scale. No, the others were what interested him. Why them? A janitor, a couple of hoity-toits, a man who looked like he'd seen too much and would tell you even more and someone apparently brash and probably thoughtless. Not the sort of company U was given to associating with, though they had to be better than some of the insipid morons who made up his body of "colleagues".

Solicitous, interested eyes had already opened wide, a serious but not stern expression on Ulysses' face. "Well. It appears there has already been a congregation of sorts. I regret missing out on the introductions." Ulysess smiled. "U. N. Owen. Please, call me U." Beside his side, a startlingly small bundle that appeared to be the only luggage the young man had brought. He travelled light. Didn't own much. Not that they needed to know that. "So what are you all here for?"

Linette sighed unhappily as her limousine trolled along the long winding path to Ridgewood Manor. Across from the spoiled actress sat her crush and manager, Luke. Although the starlet wanted to strike a conversation with the man, she couldn't. Luke argued intently with whomever had called his cell moments ago, cutting the past conversation short.

"No no no no no. Miss Illamora is not to be scheduled for any shoots, filming, interviews, or appearances for the next month at least. As a result of constant pressure, Miss Illamora has been entitled to a hidden getaway," Luke growled, the first time in a long time that Linette heard him be even slightly unpleasant with another human being. There was a short pause and Linette could faintly hear the voice of a woman arguing back.

"I assure you Misses Caine that my client is not avoiding you and I shall get back to you as soon as she is ready to continue with her work. Thank you for your time, Misses Caine. Good-bye." Luke hung up the phone as the "Misses Caine" woman fought to stay on the line.

"Ugh, that woman is of no worth. I don't understand why you try and reason with her," stated a disgusted Linette. "She surely has more to do than bother us while we're supposed to be on vacation. Together."

As though it were a hint, Luke sighed and shut the phone he held in his right hand off. "There Lin, no more distractions," he smiled, white teeth sharply contrasting the black suit and red tie he wore.

'Lin' folded her hands in the lap of her dark pink chiffon dress and smiled lightly, pleased that she'd managed to get away with a little manipulation of her manager.

"Ma'am, we have arrived," stated the driver of the limo as he pulled to a soft stop. The curled blonde hair of the woman passenger bounced lightly as she arranged herself to exit the extended car. The door opened and an umbrella was lifted over the exit. Taking the handle with seemingly frail hands, the actress exited the transportation and fully extended her five foot seven inch body. Shorty after her came Luke, not minding the slight drizzle. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it... as he enjoyed everything in life.

Six suitcases were brought forth from the back of the limousine and taken inside the lobby by the driver, two at a time. Linette began walking delicately to the doors of the fine mansion and gasped upon seeing Luke run past her. He bent to help a brunette haired girl who had stumbled near the door.

"Might I be able to help you, miss?" he asked, smiling as he extended a hand to the woman. He flashed a smile at her and winked a deep blue eye at her. Linette's face formed what seemed to be a natural, blood curdling frown and her light violet eyes glared at her newest enemy.

Linette screamed and collapsed into the mud, sprawling her body and expensive dress. The umbrella took off out of her hand at the slightest gust of wind and Linette lay there as rain began painting the chiffon dress with darker pink spots.

"Knock it off Linette. I'm not stupid, I know your tricks," Luke called, looking out at the woman whom he secretly loved. This was one of those times he couldn't help but love her. Turning his attention back to the woman in front of him, Luke gave a slight chuckle.

"Don't mind her, she's an actress."

Feeling somewhat lost in the eyes of the girl who had introduced herself as Carmen, it took being spoken to for Markus to notice the now almost full lobby. Giving a brief glance around the room at the array of characters, before responding another fairly likable man who struck conversation with him Markus came to the decision of who he would surround himself with and who he would avoid. For example, the photographer without any seemingly charming characteristics, he would avoid him. The two gems who entered now next to a butler, he would speak to them. Hell, he'd speak to all the girls.

Of the ones he would talk to, this Owen character fell. He smiled his signature smile and responded in with a charming affliction to his voice, "I'm here to drink." he joked, "To enjoy myself, if you'd rather. And you? What brings a city slicker like you to the country." He wasn't aware if his tone was either offensive or accusatory, but frankly he didn't care.

Carmen noticed the door swing open again. This time a tall guy walked in with light brown hair. He came up to the group and introduced himself as U. She instantly found something interesting about him. As she walked closer to where U and Markus were standing she noticed there were a lot of males standing in the lobby. 'Well this should be a fun weekend'. She smirked. U had asked what had brought everyone here, Markus said he was here for drinking. This made Carmen giggle. "Well I sure could go for a drink." She reached her hand out showing off her perfect manicure. "The name's Carmen. So where are you guys from?" Carmen liked meeting new people. She heard some more people coming up the steps out side but she decided to ignore the noises and continue talking to the two perfectly sculpted men she was talking to.

A man came to Jenny's side and offered a hand up as a light blonde female tried to get him to help her first. After that attempt failed Jenny took the dark haired man's hand and got up with a soft voiced thank you, completely forgetting about her stuff as she noticed who the blonde was. "Miss Linette Illamora," Jenny's voice helf-way screamed out with excitement. Jenny quickly went over to offer a hand up with a kind smile. Either Jenny didn't notice the rain or didn't care. "I am a huge fan of yours; although not so much your manager, Mister Marshel. I thought he would help you out first." Jenny seemed to be teasing him slightly, although not in an affectionate way. It was clear Jenny had no interest in Luke as far as romance went.

"I am personally here for some nice hot meals, good company and relaxation. I haven't had a vacation in 13 years and I am going to make this one as memorable as possible." Jack said with his trademark smile. He then fully turned to U and extended his hand. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance U. N. Owen. I am Jack Simon." he said in his politest tone. He turned to the others in the lobby. The man called Daniel, the swashbuckler Annabelle, the young beauty and the shy photographer whom had not introduced himself. All of them quite young and quite different. This new boy, Mr. U., had a superiority complex you could smell a mile away. He wasn't sure if this young man would even accept his hand in the traditional form of greeting of the western world.

Jack heard a commotion outside, it seemed some more young ladies were coming. If he was too be the oldest here, he doubted he could truly bond with anyone here. He digressed, he would make the best of his situation no matter the cost. He was thinking this when he noticed the young man with the camera was focusing his lens on him, or at least around him. "Excuse me, young man hiding in the corner, I would prefer it if you do not take photos of me. Old habit, spent a few months with the pigmies and they complete made me fearful of getting my photo taken. I am also not even remotely photogenic, and I wouldn't want you to waste your film, thank you." He said very politely with a slight smile.

Jack then shook his watch out of his wrist and inspected the time. "It seems we are 3 minutes behind schedule. The invitation said we were to be welcomed in at 7:00 sharp in the lobby. I hold punctuality in the highest of regards, sometimes it could be a matter of life and death." He said with a slight smile. He then began to laugh. "I can be rather silly sometimes. Listen, since we only have each other for entertainment, how about I tell a joke, I am rather fond of them." Jack stood straight up and cleared his throat. "Alright, now. A blond, a brunette and a redhead decided to go camping in the woods one night, the only problem being that the blond forgot to pack food. So, the redhead went out looking for food and came back a few minutes later with a rabbit. The others asked 'How did you catch the rabbit' to which the redhead replied 'I followed the tracks, I followed the tracks and I caught the rabbit.' Then the brunette goes and comes back with a deer. They asked the same question and she answered the same as the redhead. 'I followed the tracks, I followed the tracks and I caught the deer' Then the blond goes out and isn't seen for hours. She then stumbles back into their camps covered in blood with her leg snapped in half and he body distorted. They asked what happened to her. She responded 'I followed the tracks, I followed the tracks and I got hit by the train." Jack then gave a small laugh to himself and felt confident he had broken the proverbial ice with his fellow guests. "Do excuse me if you didn't find it particularly humorous, I am rather fond of jokes myself and feel they can smooth over a dicey situation with ease."

"Highly amusing," said a female, who stood in the doorway and was quite slight, probably one of the smaller in the group, reaching only 5ft 5. Despite this she was in perfect proportion size for it. Her voice was sweet and almost innocent as she gave a small chuckle. "Jack.... reminds me of a joke I once heard. After all, a Jack is another word for Knave. Of course, there are so many interpretations of the word Knave. I wonder if any apply to you?"
She smiled through all this, impossible to tell if it were an insult or flirt, but her eyes were trained on his. Alice didn't mind blonde jokes. She knew so many, and being a blonde, you could always play up to the role, should it be requires.
Her next words went straight at him. "Perhaps now, it is my turn?"
Alice had arrived in a limo paid for by the company. Her driver had brought her to the mansion, walked so that he could keep her under the umbrella, hence why she still looked completely dry. He had then brought her luggage, piled it neatly and was now positioned behind her, rather like a butler. He wasn't staying, she had made that clear, but he did insist on taking her things to her room. Until they knew what room it would be, she was stuck with him.
"Why is a woman like a pack of cards?" she said, her voice turning from sweet at the first question, to a deeper, lower one as the punchline came. "Because you need a Heart to love her, a Diamond to marry her, a Club to hit her over the head with and a Spade to bury the....." she paused, as if the word she were about to use was not appropriate for the company. "...cow" she finished with a smile.
She gave Jack a wink and then turned her attention to someone who's name intrigues her.
"Mr U.N.Owen?" she said, tilting her head at him. "I am so glad that someone else enjoys little cute Sailor poems and seeking truth. You sound like something from a book I very much enjoy. You must know which one I mean, unless it is your parents little private joke. Your little secret is safe with me."
To those who hadn't read it, the words were confusing and without meaning, perhaps even frustrating. To be kept out of something so early in a conversation could be seen as rudeness, but Alice showed all the signs of good breeding, wearing a pretty, if not slightly formal, dress, walked high and talked with the accent of an English Lady. Such rudeness didn't go with the outfit, and therefore must simply be a harmless mistake.
She gave Mr U a smile, different only slightly to the one she had given Jack, more a smile of respect, and a nod of her head, before turning her head to gaze at the beautiful Autumn painting. Her favourite month. All the colour, with the warmth of Summer but the promise of Winter. Yes, she enjoyed highly her walks in the park, watching leaves fall. Spring was beautiful with it's blossom, looking like a dramatic scene when the warrior returns in a Japanese film, but Autumn, that was true beauty.

"Jack, how many time have I told you, I don't want to do this!" Nicklas Rusk, attacking midfielder, ladies man and all-round enfent terrible, shuffled in the seat of the car like an ill-used, spoiled school kid. "Not to mention I'm gonna miss some important games. I was hanging out to play in that exhibition match against Manchester City!"

"And I've told you," Jack DeFoe, Player-Liaison Officer of the California Snakes soccer team replied with a sigh. "It's not negotiable, Nick. It was either this, or the drying-out clinic, or a psycho ward. Shit, man, you attacked the referee and body-slammed him onto the concrete, just because he gave you 'offside' - you're bringing the game, and the club, into disrepute. Any more of it and we'll be losing sponsors hand over fist. Already, 'Crunchi-Weat' and 'Krank's' beer are making noises about not renewing their advertising contracts unless we trade you. And then there was that scandal about your affair with that model, and the fight you got into outside that club!"

"That last one wasn't my fault," growled Nicklas. "Those two guys attacked me. They were L A Screamers supporters!"

"Yeah, and defending yourself would have been all well and good. There was no need to go psycho, though. You put one guy in traction, and the other one won't ever walk properly again. And then there's that business where you were outed as a marijuana user. You'll never be a top player unless you cut out smoking ganga!"

"But a little bit of the herb helps me relax."

"Yes, but not at half-time, for fuck's sake!" Jack DeFoe changed down, and nearly lost the tail of the Mercedes as he rounded a bend in the approach-path. "And anyway, you'll love it here. Look at that beautiful old building, like something out of Jane Austen. And they'll be all sorts of wholesome activities and nice healthy food. Interesting people to meet!"

"I hate wholesome activities!" Growled Nicklas. "And Healthy food makes me feel ill. And I bet they'll be no pretty women, either. Nothing but old bags of eighty-five, or politically correct feminists with hairy legs. And no decent booze!"

"Yes, staying away from liqueur is part of this," Jack agreed. "But you'll have your car, I've arranged it to be shipped here. And a decent stereo, and TV. And face it, Nick, this is better than a clinic, isn't it? You were lucky to get this invite. And anyway-" he pulled the car to a halt. "Like I told you, this isn't a subject for discussion. It was only the fact you were the team's top scorer this season, and have a huge fan-following that saved the club from wiping your contract. Now, not another word. You'l do this, and like it!"

Nicklas' face was long, and his spirits in his expenive designer boots, as he watched the Merc vanish into the distance. Then, gloomily he picked up his bags and trotted towards the entrance.

# A mansion in the center of an isolated forest, 2011-06-10 10:13:52, as written by LunaTwilight
Tess stared out the cab window as it slowed to a crawl in front of the rain soaked mansion. It looked interesting enough, and far enough from society that it gives a bit of peace and quiet; but the real question was the people. Surely she wasn’t the only guest, and the vehicle pulling out confirmed her thoughts.

“Here ya go Miss. Ridgewood Manor. Need help with the luggage?”

Eyeing the cab driver as she handed him the fair, it didn’t take a genious to figure out the false offer as he was already putting the yellow contraption with the leaking window into drive. “No, I’ve got it.” She mumbled, backpack swung over her shoulder and suitcase clanging behind her as she yanked it from the seat next to her. “Thanks for the offer-HEY!” The door shut no more than a second before the cab pulled out, Tess had to jump back to avoid being hit by the splash of a water puddle; even if her bag wasn’t so lucky.

“Of all the rude little… No Tess, this is a vacation. A nice, stress free, relaxing vacation… with an actress?” Bag rolling behind her as she came across the scene at the entrance of the house, she carefully gave a wide berth as she passed the familiar looking actress –now what was her name again- and a couple of others she didn’t recognize. Surely a mere doppelganger of familiarity was all it was, why would she receive an invitation to this place if there were celebrities here?

Heavens this better be a joke. Celebrities meant drama… people meant drama; and drama meant it needed kings and queens to test her nerves on a daily bases. Then as if to prove her doppelganger theory wrong, she caught sight of yet another familiar face as she reached the entrance to the mansion.

“You’ve gotta be kidding me.” Tess mumbled as she got closer, peering up with a raised eyebrow to the male in question. Sports were never her strongest point, playing or knowledge wise; but she’d seen enough news and tabloid magazines to recognize the face. “Did I get the wrong address and this is some celebrity hangout.” Tess deadpanned at the thought. Taxi out of sight and two celebrities down, this wasn’t looking to relaxing for a simple college student. Shoving the thought aside, Tess followed what looked like the trail of several wet footsteps to what must have been the lobby; eyeing the group of people gathered together already in one section of the room.

As she counted how many guests there was so far, she started to hang up her dripping coat as she jumped at the unexpected sight of someone apart from the crowd and beside the coat wrack. "You're liable to give someone a heart attack like that!" She said as she forced her nerves down, then leaning against the wall a few feet away from the young man; not wanting to join in on the group gathering just yet her own self. "So Mr. Coat Man... have I missed anything or is this basically all that's been going on?" Silently watching everyone would have been just as preferable, but seeing as so many was already here, she might as well attempt to be sociable... and make sure she was in the right place.

"So Jack, What type of work do you do that doesn't allow you to take a vacation in 13 years?" Annabelle asked with a smile, her voice was soft and gentle with a slight english accent. It fit with her whole pirate look. Annabelle's piercing grey eyes scanned the man in the corner with a camera.
"And you sir, I do believe you haven't said a word. What do you go by?" She asked as she ccocked her head to the side, "Oh and Jack? Punctuality is very very important." Annabelle looked at her feet, a dragon tattoo adorned the back of her neck. It seemed that she came from a very wealthy background. She sighed. Being bored was not her best trait at all. Annabelle stood there as a few thoughts passed through her head.
"Oh... I have a joke! What's the last thing to go through a fly's mind before it hits a windshield?," Annabelle paused for a moment, "Its arse." Annabelle chuckled to herself.

Markus laughed an honest laugh at Jack's joke feeling somewhat comforted by the ease in tension created by a procrastinate host. Noticing a lack of interest from the girl with the English accent, he herded Anabells attention to himself. Turning to the young female who had initially made the inquiry about the absent host, and now about punctuality "You know Anabell, one might ask the same thing. If punctuality is so important where is our greeter" He let his finger point at each of the heads, his mouth forming a verbal count, "Excluding the butler, we seem to be missing two people. But how would he know that?" He, referring to the host. Presumptuous, sure, but not unreasonable. The serving class was not a place for a woman to dirty her hands. There were so many better ways to do that.

Glancing at the doorway; Markus examined the arrival of the two final guests. The first, a burly soccer player: male. Great. However, much to his welcomed surprise, the second a beautiful young woman. Struggling to grin at the plan that was conjuring in his head, Markus distracted himself by stating the answer to Carmen's question. Where he originated, "New Orleans," he felt an overwhelming eagerness to get a drink or two into one of the women. He ran a hand through his silver hair impatiently.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Oh well, looks like it's dead :(

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Need we kill it just yet? I think it can be ressurected if we all commit to post, since we have a lot of players here. OK I'm as guilty as anyone for not posting (though I did post here earlier explaining why), but I feel if we all commit we can keep this going. GM, your views?

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Well, that's pretty sad that we had so many characters and it still died. Out of curiosity, could you tell me who was the murderer? It was still really early and nothing had really happened yet, so I couldn't tell who it was...

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

This hasn't been dead for an incredibly long time, but I think it is time to declare it so.
I got too wrapped up in other RPs and the murderer has stopped posting.
So thanks all for joining!

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Just to let everyone know I will be away about a week - the exigencies of RL have thrown something up. Will check in as soon as I can.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Finally the site let's me log in! Just wanted to say I'm still here, but I have family down and am having to sneak on whenever I can so I may be slow on posting <_< Not to mention the the web site not wanting to cooperate and let me log in before it kicks me back off.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

I promise, guys, my character is not gonna sit the whole game out hidden in the library. I sent him there just to establish his persona a bit more (he was a bit one dimensional without the book addiction I felt) and also to miss the announcement that there is a murderer among us, which for his future arc I felt was useful. He'll pretty soon get hungry, lonely, or whatever and wander out and encounter his fellow guests - or feel free to wander in and meet him if anyone prefers.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

@Sasori, Yes. And you flatter me. We are on the same level D:

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Baby! Are you stalking me?

@Peaches, I can vouch for Baby's skill. She's in my other RP, and she's ten hundred times a better roleplayer than me. Now I want this to be successful just so she can join, lol.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

If this turns out to be successful, I beg of you to notify me of the next one. I absolutely love this kind of stuff!

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Sorry short post not a lot to use

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Since I was changing rooms in that last post, I didn't know which one to put the post under. I put it under the Lobby, but really Rin is in the kitchen. I guess from now on I'll use the room that I wind up in rather than I start in.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Egad alot can happen while I'm asleep O_O *starts making personal note of where each person is at*

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Just watched Detective Conan episodes 617 and 618. I think the culprit this time around on that anime is one of two people. The female professional tennis player, or her next opponent. I am putting more money on the female professional tennis player. Awesome part is that I found my suspect at the start of episode 618; Conan found out at the end of the episode. Is it just me or is there something wrong with that?

Anyway I need to watch episodes 1-616 so I can say I have seen them all. XD

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Well all I can say is I hope no one is in the kitchen cause I cut some of the post short and sciimmed some of the posts lol.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

I am going to wait for some others to post as well before replying to Jack.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

@Sneakyrio
Okay, sounds good. Have fun and try not to cause too much trouble.

@Mak-kun
Be my guest, getting caught up is always fun.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

@Gamer:
I don't mind if you call me that ~^_^~
On the other hand, I don't hope you don't mind me using your character to get caught up :D

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

@Gamer X I completely agree with you. The human mind is fascinating. If we could better regulate our brain on a sub-conscious level, we could do anything. The brain has the potential to alter anything in our body. The reason we can make ourselves sick and healthy.

Also I am not going to be posting for most of thevnight, going out on the town and won';t be back until late.

Re: [OOC] Murder Mystery at Ridgewood Manor

Mainly @GuiyverT
One reason could be that sticking to a preset personality can be difficult. Since all people change depending on who they interact with a person's personality can easy change and be displaced. It happens in real life and can be a great thing to happen in a roleplay. Commonly the character's personality feeds off of the first two or three other characters they come into contact with. This usually happens without the direct knowledge of the player since it is a subconscious occurrence.

Interesting fact: This doesn't usually come into play with Lucid Dreamers and those that can access their subconscious while awake. Also did you know that the dreams of a person comes from the subconscious? The human brain is just magnificent don't you think so?

Sorry about that, the subconscious is something I took a great interest in and studied up on it.
