Introduction
What am I exactly? Eh. Who cares?
Posting has begun!
The only thing these children have known is the cold, hard cement cells that they have been in their entire lives, and the white lab coats that belong to the adults that croon false promises and maybe even the rare genuine caring word.
They are all test tube babies, born and raised in the facility. But they are all special, special and maybe even a little freaky. Because their DNA have all been altered and fused with the DNA of a single specimen of animal.
But there has been word that some experiments are planning on breaking out of here. But who knows if this is real or not? After all, maybe what the scientists are prescribing is actually helping them?
There is only one chance to find out. There is thing in the lab, called the Dome, where the mutants can interact with each other. Now is the time to exchange information, to exchange thoughts and opinions. Now is the time to open up and let the scientists in.
It all began fifty years ago, in the year 2013. A scientist, rather insane and only aged 18, named Riley Flynn, perfected the technique of splicing DNA and infusing it with the DNA of an embryo, thereby creating a mutant. A human being, granted with animal attributes. He started out simple, working with DNA that was similar to human DNA - cows and rats, in particular. Quite a few of those turned out to be very, very successful.
The man, young and a genius, gifted with an IQ that soared far above even Leonardo da Vinci's, began to grow ambitious. He could make an army, you see. Born into wealth, the man was a ticking time bomb of the perfect resources, with the perfect mind, and the perfect personality to carry out what could be the apocalypse that had been avoided in 2012.
But he died before his time. At the ripe young age of 39, Riley, twenty-one years after making his discovery, died under mysterious conditions. His work was carried out by his associates, and his most trusted advisor, his cousin, a young woman named Mallory Hyde. Mallory continued the experiments, and it was under her that the Dome was built.
Why not study the mutants in their 'natural' habitat? What natural habitat? The only thing these things had ever known was their cells and their handlers. But they were intelligent. Some of them anyway. The ones infused with toad DNA rarely spoke. They mostly communicated through croaking, their voice boxes having developed identical to those of the toad.
But then...there were the brilliantly crafted ones. The ones who had been given just enough DNA that they looked human. Until, of course, they yawned and their jaws stretched to one-twenty degrees and revealed forty six sharp, sharp canines.
The year is now 2063.
The experiments have multiplied, grown so much and researched so extensively that the only time they ever get to communicate with each other is in their time in the Dome. Sometimes put in there for days on end, sometimes given only an hour.
What are you going to do with your time?
The Dome
The Dome is exactly as it sounds: a large glass dome with a diameter that would take two days to walk from edge to edge. The glass surrounding it is a whole lot thicker than bullet proof glass and itβs a one-way mirror.
The scientists arranged on the balconies surrounding the dome can look in, while the mutants cannot see the scientists. There are five different doors leading in, each one leading to a different habitat when first entered. There is a desert, a forest, salty and fresh water and the arctic tundra.
There is also a section in the middle where they all intersect and this is rocky, but flat. This middle section has a large cylinder in the middle, which is also an entrance into the Dome. However, this entrance is mostly used by scientists. Experiments usually use the entrance near the habitat that best suits their needs.
The conditions are always perfect, temperature and humidity kept at exactly the level needed to be comfortable. Prey, such as rabbits and birds, as well as a wide variety of vegetation inhabit in the area.
The balconies that wrap around the Dome have telescopes at regular intervals for the scientists to focus on an particular experiment. There are different levels of observation. Ground floor, up to fortieth. The fortieth is less of an observational level and more of a lounge area for the scientists. The entire facility is structure around the dome. Each floor up to the tenth has cells.

strengths. Not everybody is going to be a tough-as-nails, I don't give a damn about this world and thus, I am awesome and a god. Sure, they can have strengths, but make sure they fit with the DNA. For example, a gorilla-type would be very strong. A bird-type would be good at flying.

strengths. Mostly science based, of course, but sure, some of them know martial arts. Not all of them. Most of these guys have too much work to spend time building muscle.
weaknesses. A secret addiction, a hobby perhaps, that your scientist doesn't want other people to know...
opinion on charges. -- to be filled out when all the characters are in place -- But what do you think of the experiments under your...care?

To prove you read all of this, scientist character perspectives should include watching the experiments in the dome. Experiments should be of them thinking about life and liberty and all that good stuff...in their cells.

Her smile grew when he mentioned more spaghetti and she walked in a slow circle around him, then went back the other way, untangling the leash from him. She sighed as she stretch her wings back behind her fully. She reached her arms above her head and stretched her back, hearing a few pops here and there. She pulled her wings back in so she wouldn't take up as much space. She turned to look at her wings and ran her hand over one of them, loving the feeling of the soft feathers.

Edit-
HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! FALCON! Sky Flying Falcon! HA I FOUND YOU!
When I created the RP, I had a nifty little journal where I wrote down all the characters and their players. OMFG! I love roleplaying beside you! :D Wheeeeeeeeeeee xD
Re: [OOC] My Shattered World
I hope this turns out good :).
Re: [OOC] My Shattered World
Of course, the sick bastard in me chooses 2, for the very reasons that Templar has stated. I prefer tragedy over comedy, in the language of Shakespeare.
But of course, you are GM and this is your story, therefore, the choice is ultimately yours.
Edit- After a bit of investigation I have boiled you (Templar) down to two of the abandoned characters in the swirling abyss of them that had been created. As far as the writing technique, I cannot say I'm an expert at deciphering differences and so you either played Miles Tyrone, the scientist who chose a different path, or the unfortunate dragon Kolo.
Watch me be entirely wrong on both accounts and be sorely humiliated. Either way, I still cannot remember you RP name, only those of your characters. :/
Re: [OOC] My Shattered World
Hmm, thats the problem with having offical slots and such that get reserved. Someone who reserves doesn't turn up and you can't replace them. It does have advantages true but it also has disadvantages. I'm surprised how you make it work with the restriction you put in about age and such.
With the story lines I personally prefer number 1. I think they both work well, however they'll define how the roleplay turns out. I would say number 2 certainly points to a much darker story line. I mean, death, destruction and so forth. Thats a bit darker then hope.

Re: [OOC] My Shattered World
So, once we get those last two spots filled (I know that one of them should be filled tomorrow - I think I'll have to open up Dawnfire's spot), I'll post the introductory post.
There's really no plot right now. The experiments and the scientists just sort of interact for now. But I'm thinking one of two future plots.
1. Somebody spreads the rumor that they're going to try a mass escape. This rumor might or might not be true, and it worries both scientists and experiments. Security is tightened, time in the Dome is getting limited. Will the escape actually pull through? If so, where will they go? Because, after all, there is nowhere for them to live. The climate outside is suitable only to a few. All of them can feel the draft leaking in through the cracks during the winter. They can feel the scorching heat during the summer. And there are other unknowns as well. They've lived long enough, heard enough from their very caretakers.
"Poor things. They'd never survive out in the real world."
"They look like monsters..."
"We have to make sure they stay safe...."
2. A plague strikes swiftly and silently through the lab, killing off over twenty of the experiments in two nights. The cause of the disease is unknown, but it's said that it has something to do with the way some of the DNA in experiments have been twisted, leaving them vulnerable to the sickness. Experiments are herded into the Dome, where they will spend the next few weeks, carefully observed. Scientists will be spending nights with them, to make sure none of them attack each other. But the disease and the sudden death of so many leave quite a few wondering - What happened? Will the disease strike again?
Am I going to be next?
Re: [OOC] My Shattered World
I almost revived Blue Lips, but I think that story is better left to my own mind. It became more and more specific/vivid in my head; putting in RP form would have killed it for me. Not that the players weren't AMAZING... it's just hard to orchestrate such a large scale RP. At least for myself. :P
Edit- SORRY I keep taking so long with the profile! My connection at work last night was zilch so I must create him now. :D
Re: [OOC] My Shattered World
Other people would get very similar comments except I don't really know your writing :p
