The Other Problem
So much unrest is building up across the continent, and the Hidden Villages are being called to deal with it. They’ve banded together as the Ninja Alliance, camped together in a giant headquarters at a secret location.
As can only happen in such a huge gathering, young people from the different villages have formed friendships, even electing to undertake missions together. Which is exactly what has happened now.
The group featured in this particular story - a small band of ‘other heroes’ - has the opportunity to prove themselves as valuable ninja with a mission to investigate a set of ruins deep in the Land of Wind, out in the middle of the desert, roughly five days from Sunagakure. Strange activity has been reported in the area, even though it’s supposed to be abandoned. Is it ghosts . . . or something more?
The Other Rules
- No godmodding. You’ll get a warning the first time, but if it happens continually, you’ll be asked to leave.
- No trolling. Don’t start arguments among the ranks, because that’s just bad news bears, folks.
- Listen to the GMs. That’s crazylilactress and Roxas-13.
- Please follow the posting order, unless you have prearranged unordered posting with the GMs and the people involved.
- Swearing is all right, just don’t get carried away.
- This is a shonen roleplay. Romance has it’s place, but it’s a small one. Keep that in mind.

OOC Notes
((OOC: All right! Start bringing your characters in, everyone! The deal right now is that we're just a group of friends meeting up to hangout. Yes, ninja do that too XD. When we're all settled in and comfy, Roxas-13 or I will bring in an NPC to summon us for a mission.))
It was a secluded place - hidden along the coastline of the Land of Lightning - that now saw the largest gathering of ninja the world over. War was on the horizon, and the Five Great Lands, as well as the Land of Iron, had come together to stop it. Cloud mingled with Sand, Stone rubbed elbows with Leaf, and drinks were shared between Mist and Iron samurai.
The sound of running feet was nothing strange in the camp. Dust flying into the air from her fast-moving heels, a young woman — barely out of her teens — sprinted down the long row of tents. Her dark hair whipped across her face as she looked left and right, looking for some sign of a familiar face.
'Oh, come on . . . . They've got to be around here somewhere . . .' she thought. 'Genji did say around the centre, right? I wasn't just hallucinating or something?'
She emerged into the large central hub of the camp, slowing to a walk, still looking about. Maybe she was just early . . . . One side of her mouth twisted in annoyance. Of course, it could be the fact that she was shorter than most of the people in the general vicinity. She needed to get higher.
Moving closer to one of the tents, she climbed onto a wooden crate standing close to the canvas 'wall,' before glancing about from her new vantage point. Ah yes — this was much better. And now she was more visible to anyone looking for her. Double bonus.

I don't have anything against the Cloud-nin or anything...but I really hate the Land of Lighting. There's just too much moisture in the air here for me to properly use my techniques. Jin thought as he sat on a bench in the central area of the camp, where there was a large clearing used for gatherings, and official meetings. Today he was just there to hang out with the friends he'd made since the whole Shinobi Alliance thing. Oh well, things seem peaceful here, maybe I won't have to fight...
Just then, something caught his eye, but just barely. Looking back, scanning the area over everyone's heads, he spotted it again and laughed a little before throwing up a hand and giving Yurei a friendly wave. It seemed he wouldn't have to wait as long as he thought. He had been the first there, and had been there for about ten minutes now, long enough for him to wonder if the others were going to show up or not. Even though he had been a member of the alliance for some time now, he still didn't exactly trust the members of other countries and hidden villages. Something his father had literally pounded into him
Absently he lowers his hand, sure she could have spotted him by now, and gingerly touches the scar across his neck.

Genji walked around the camp ground, in no hurry what-so-ever to reach the meeting spot. He had told Yurei when and where to meet with the others and himself, but she had known him for years, did she expect him to be on time? He stretched and yawned, casting his slightly milky eyes around. The birth defect that made Genji partially blind allowed him to see the ninja and samurai milling about, but not make out distinct details unless he came close enough.
A thud from behind him told something had fallen, and the slight squeak told him it was a girl at the center. Turning, he confirmed it, seeing a poor young ninja, not much younger than himself, trying to restack a pile of boxes she had knocked over. Genji walked over, and picked up a few boxes to help restack them. When they were back in place, he turned to the girl smiled. "Better be careful next time." HE reached into a pocket and pulled out a desert rose, one of many he kept on his person, and handed it to her. "Wouldn't want a pretty thing like you to get hurt." He winked and turned away before he could see her reaction.
Minutes later, Genji arrived on the edge of the center of camp, where they were to meet. He swung his head from side to side, his long red hair swaying, as he looked for someone familiar. That's when he saw the small, dark-haired girl standing on a crate just to his left. He grinned, sneaking up beside her. When he was sure her attention was else where, he reached up, grabbed her from her perch on the box, and lifted her down on his shoulder. He laughed. 'You fell for it again, Yurei! You think you'd have learned by now." As he talked, he noticed another individual, a littlw ways off, waving at them. It was Jin, the third assigned to their party. Genji waved back, signaling Jin to come over.

Nariko wandered the camp ground aimlessly, bored out of her wits she kicked a small stone along the path she was taking. Once again she had attempted to go with the ambush team on a mission. This time it was her own team, team Nine. But once again she had been caught out and rejected as she was needed for another assignment later down the track. She turned a corner passing a Hidden grass ninja who was trying to set up his tent and, not doing very well at all.
Nariko slumped against a number crates sighing. Nariko remembered during the time of peace, when her group of friends would get together and go on adventures, back when they were genin, and as most of them became chuunin seeing one another became more difficult but they still all made the effort, how she wished that they could all meet up again... meet up ... meet..
"Crap!" Nariko shouted jumping to her feet. She had completely forgotten that she was meant to meet up with Genji and the other members of their party. Cursing herself for her forgetfulness she sprinted towards the otherside of the camp, passing ninja's from other countries, talking and laughing together, an odd sight to behold seeing as they had been at eachothers necks for years before this disaster has brought them all together.

Kaori looked around at the camp site and all of the people wandering around, trying to find someone's familure face. A while ago, she was told to meet her new friends here, in the center of this place. Up in the sky, there was not a cloud in sight, the weather was beautiful. The young blond haired girl smiled at the beautiful sight. Slightly ruining the scene, she heard the rest of her friends talking... they were already waiting for her to get there. Kaori blinked a few times then ran over to the others.
"Hey!" She called to them. "Sorry I'm late~"
Kaori looked around at the camp site and all of the people wandering around, trying to find someone's familure face. Arms held out to either side for balance, Yurei fought not to wobble on her precarious perch. "Fell for it?" she repeated, grinning. "Fell for what?! I'm trying not to fall, in case you hadn't noticed!"
Regaining her sense of balance, she rested on arm on Genji's head, returning Jin's wave with the other. "To your right, Mop Top - Jin and Nariko are over there."
In the three and a half weeks the Ninja Alliance had been gathered together, the little group - including the just-arrived Kaori - had gotten fairly close. Put a bunch of young ninja together, they're bound to form friendships at some point or another. Friendships that could only serve to strengthen their teamwork in a fight.
Yurei raised her voice as the group converged. "Morning, everyone! I'd like to introduce you to my personal transport." She patted her teammate squarely on his headband. "It's just great - I can let him carry all the heavy things, and not have to worry about travelling light."
Squirming free, she dropped to the ground, straightening the half-skirt around her waist. Smiling slyly, she sent him a sideways glance. "However, if he does that again, I'm not liable for my actions."

As Nariko catches up with Jin and begins to walk along side him towards the others, he returns the smile and gives her a small nod. Once the reach the other side of the circle he crosses his arms loosely and listens to Yurei, laughing a little despite himself. "And good morning to you as well." He says, raising a hand up to scratch his head. "So, what's the plan for today anyway?"
Since he met up with the Alliance, not a day has gone by that he hasn't had something to do. From scouting out locations to gathering supplies, he has always had some mission, so he was a little sceptical when the higher ups gave him some free time with his firends. His father, an important man back in Iwagakure, was helping to lead his particular group, and so he was sure before the day was out they'd be asked to do something.
"By the way, anyone else hungry? I was thinking of getting something for breakfast," Jin says, looking over his shoulder and pointing a thumb in the direction where the smell of food is coming from.

Nariko scratched her head at Yurei when she mentioned Genji as her personal transport and put her finger and thumb on her chin to look like she was thinking.
"Transport..?" she said mumbling trying to make the connection with Yurei's joke and then got it, giggling loudly at Yurei's remark, Nariko could often be quite slow at catching on to things.
Laughing Nariko turned to Jin when he asked what the group was doing and her facial expression changed into a wondering face, her mouth open in an O shape and made a loud 'Oooo' sound, stopping laughing suddenly.
"Oh yes what are we doing can we do something fun? can we, can we can we!?!" Nariko jumped up and down childishly, often she would lose her tough act and break into a hyper childish state, especially if she was hungry or bored. She frowned when Jin asked if anyone else was hungry implying he hadn't had breakfast.
"Really Jin?" She said looking at him with an Eyebrow raised. "You should know that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you'll regret not having any." Nariko scolded him like a teacher does a student and blushed when her stomach rumbled. Nariko had skipped breakfast also. Smelling the food making her stomach rumble more, Nariko Blushed a deeper scarlet and looked hopeful at the others.
"Yes, can we get something... Please?"

((Sorry for the delay in my post! BilgeWater siad he was going to post a new character, and I was waiting to see if he would get it before I posted again. I'll move ahead anyways!))
Genji shot a glare up at his smaller partner. "Easy, Runt. Just because my eyes don't see well, doesn't make me blind. OR deaf." He turned towards the others, seeing the Jin was now joined by the other's of their small group, Nariko and Kaori. The former seemd a little quieter this today, but Genji knew that would change. Kaori greeted them warmly, as did Jin. Genji waved when Yurei shouted her little greeting to them.
Genji glared at Yurei again, but she wrestled out of his grasp before he could do anything. "If you think that's happening anytime soon, Yurei-chan, you're living in a dream world." Genji tossled her hair before she could get out of his reach. Yurei was his most trusted firend, ahving known each other for most of their Academy days, and becoming even better friends when they were placed into Team Shouto. Even though that team had desolved a bit, they still stuck together.
Jin address the problem and hand. Genji scratched his head, thinking. "Yeah, I was told there was a mission for us or something, and we were being briefed here. Not sure when or by who." The next question caught him off guard: food. His stomach rumbled in reply. He couldn't help but grin at the others' reaction to the question, Nariko especially.

A small wind current flew off his finger tips and cut into the apple, slicing it into five pieces. He grabbed one and put into his mouth and chewed. He offered the other pieces to their little group.

((Posting again because two days have passed without Kaori posting. Sorry, hon - catch up when you can, okay? :) ))

"Although how you expect us all to survive on just one piece of apple is beyond me. I'm with Jin on the subject of breakfast. Whoever they send to brief us on the mission will check the food tents sooner or later."
She stepped forward, turning Nariko toward the delicious smells wafting over the central hub. "Come on, Nariko-chan, you're with me, right? We've got to get you something before you fade away! You too, Kaori-chan!"
This was the best part about the Ninja Alliance coming together as it had. Normally, the only friends Yurei would have made in her lifetime would have been from around Sunagakure. Yet it was so much more fun to hang around with people her own age from different parts of the continent. Call it . . . a cultural experience.
Catching the apple slice before he could taunt her by pulling it away, Yurei took a quick bite before speaking. "Always thinking ahead; thank you." Patting him on the arm, she grinned. OOC Notes
While listening to the others Jin accepted a slice of apple with a nod to Genji and promptly tossed it into his mouth. It wasn't much, be he was never one to turn down an offering from a friend. His stomach was still growling at him, but it was a little quieter now, and for that he was thankful. When he hears that they will, after all, be going on a mission, he shakes his head and starts to say something, but closes his mouth again as Yurei seeming decided for the group that they would grab something to eat after all. As soon as she had the others on the way Jib looks back to Genji and shrugs.
"Women...can't live with them can't live without them. Anyway, we should go ahead and eat, I mean, if we go on a mission hungry we won't do as well, right?" Jin asks, placing a hand on his friends shoulder. "Come on, I'll pay for your meal. Besides, we're not going to be that far away from where we were supposed to be, right?"
He had a hard time believeing those words had come out of his mouth, and that thought made him smile a little. After being trainned and sent on missions by his own father, he had gotten used to doing nothing but following orders. Giving Genji a pat on the shoulder he nods and heads over to catch up with the others.

Hey there, Zeique! Thanks for showing interest! We are still accepting profiles, so I'll do my best to answer your questions right here. (I thought I sent you a PM last night, but I can't find my copy of it anywhere. O_o)
The only limitations we have on character jutsu are that they 1) be original, and 2) you only need about 5 or 6. Also, something to keep in mind is that we don't want a bunch of OCs with the same two release archetypes. Check who has what before you decide, 'kay? Awesome. :)
If you're going to have a Kekkei Genkai, make it original. That's the whole point of having an Original Character (OC) - they are entirely your own creation. So I'm gonna have to say no, you may not use a Kekkei Genkai that appears in the series.
To reiterate my point about original characters, please make your jutsu your own. We scrutinize our submitted profiles pretty closely, so we know if someone's trying to slip one in there. E-rank, Academy-taught jutsu are known to all ninja, don't worry about them. Just the five or six originals.

What are limitations on character Jutsus? Also may I have one of the following Kekkei Genkai: Rinnegan, Hyoton, Shikotsumyaku, or Satetsu? Lastly which places can I use Jutsu from? (i.e. Anime, Manga, Games, Movies, ect.)
I will check back every day starting the 23rd of December. If no to one or all questions I will decide on my character then. I will hopefully join reguardless of the answers. If you are not accepting any more applications I understand.

Yep. I think that if someone doesn't reply within 48 hours, it's best to go for it. They can always catch up. If Kaori doesn't post by about 8 pm EST, I'll jump in again.

and i think your right, the second option seems better. and maybe place a limit on how long we should wait? i had one rp where i waited too long for someone to post and it simply died of bordom, but that's completely up to you two i guess ^_^'

I think we're just about ready, Soul! In fact . . . . I think I might just go make the opening post.
Question for everyone! Do we want to establish a posting order, or simply use the wait-until-everyone replies-before-making-your-next-post system? Personally, I think the second option might be easier, just because we have no consistent way of communicating, like MSN. It also keeps the roleplay from moving too fast, so that everyone gets equal opportunity to post.
Once the opening post is up, feel free to make your own inroads on the RP! LET'S GET IT STARTED, PEOPLE! :D

Hey i might make a Kunoichi from the Cloud Village, with the storm Release Bloodline limit since that one is my fav and im thinking of having her just learning her new bloodline limit, often stuffing it up and causing alot of problems hehe
