Description

In real life, Jack sits at five feet in his black light weight sports wheelchair His frame is thin and scrawny, underfed looking, and lacking any muscular definition. His hair is lank, and black falling almost to his shoulders in a shaggy mess that falls in his eyes, yet doesn't cover his big ears. His chin and upperlip generally sport a few thin black hairs, though his chest is entirely hairless, and he overall looks like quite underveloped. His eyes are a vibrant shade of forest green, yet hide behind large, thick lensed aviator style glasses. He generally wears jeans, a nerdy t-shirt, and a shortsleaved and/or plaid overshirt.

Personality

Jack has no self esteem, general depression, and crippling shyness. He has few friends, but those he does have are close friends, fellow nerds and childhood friends. He is incredibly intelligent, creative, and artistic, writing and drawing his own comic series almost obsessively, as a method of escapism. He hates being in the wheelchair, and dreams only of being a hero like those in his comics. Despite his shyness Jack is fairly friendly, if sarcastic and cynical, when he does talk, though he rarely opens his mouth except around friends. He can be suprisingly funny when he loosens up, but he is so awkward that he often ends up making an ass of himself.

History

Jack has been in the chair since he was five years old, when he and his mother were hit by a drunk driver on the freeway. His mother died, and he was left paralyzed. His dad fell into a drunken depression, and Jack was taken care of by his dad's older brother and his wife for the most part for the majority of his childhood. He started staying with his dad again when he was 13, and his dad quit drinking, and shaped up a bit. He refused to leave after that, even though his dad falls off the wagon again, and again. His one constant companion has been his dog, a Jack Russel Terrier named Bear, who he got a year after the accident. Jack is now 17, and Bear is getting old, at 11 years.

Socially Jack has been a nerd since childhood, unable to relate to other children with his high intelligence, and generally somber outlook on life. He went around with his nose stuck in a book, or comic, until he made his first friends in junior high, nerds like him, with similar problems, and interests. People he could finally relate to, and feel comfortable around. Despite his continued social awkardness, and general social outcast nature as a ned, he was happier than he had been, now having good friends. It was then that he started working on a comic series, based around he and his friends having superpowers. High school has been much the same, though increasingly awkard and humiliating. He and his friends discovered pot and cigarettes two years ago, and started smoking simply because they thought it was hip. They continued smoking weed for the great benefits, and enjoyment, and cigarettes because they're young, stupid, and addicted.
