Ralina was in her kitchen cleaning the dishes, it was something she always had done to calm herself down. The radio was on and she was listening intently, she was listening to the news about the war, hoping, praying her father would be alright. She was living alone in a small town of Arkansas, not the safest thing in the world, but most everyone knew eachother, so it was much safer than one would think. She was washing the last dish when a man spoke loudly over the radio, his voice was excited and raspy as he said the words: "POW's will be taking residents in a camp in Arkansas!". She dropped the plate, in result it smashed against the wooden floor into countless pieces. Did she hear the radio right? Prisoners of War being held in a camp at Arkansas? No way. Nothing like that happened here, she turned the radio up and she was struck with realization at the following statement; "They've already arrived, all was going well until two escaped. We're not sure how but we'll catch the German Prisoners of War that escaped, count on it."

Ralina turned off the radio. She couldn't believe her ears. She took a step back and felt somethign crunch beneathe her foot and she looked down, seeing the shattered plate. With a sigh Ralina began picking the pieces up to throw them away. Her dark hair fell in her eyes and she picked the last piece up gladly, until it cut her that is. "Ouch!" she hissed as she dropped the glass into a metal bin. She rushed towards the sink and began running water over her cut hand, crimson liquid mixing with clear water as she closed her eyes, "Just what I need, another cut."
