Age:
167

Orientation:
Dante is Homosexual.
Jesse is Bisexual.

Physical Appearance:
The twins are in fact identical, the only difference being the length of their hair.
Their hair is silver; Dante wears his as a thick shag that falls around his chin with the last layer falling past his shoulders. Jesse however just has a shag of thick white hair that falls to his chin.

Their eyes are glacier blue and almond shaped, set above high, chiselled cheekbones. They have wide shoulders and sculpted arms with thin waists and narrow hips, their legs are long causing them to stand at just below six foot.

Their style usually varies somewhat, with Dante preferring to dress much smarter with black trousers, leather shoes, white shirts and waistcoats. He has been known to wear the occasional top hat. Jesse is a little less formal with tight jeans and dark coloured shirts with boots or sometimes converses. He has been known to pull off a roll neck jumper with a dark blazer but prefers to wear fewer layers.

They look about 19 years old.

Personality:
Dante is usually seen in public as the stronger of the two, he tends to speak for Jesse and look down upon others. He often bosses his brother about but that does not mean that he does not love him dearly. There is nothing Dante would not do for Jesse and it is apparent to many that he is highly protective of his twin. He likes to be dominant and in control of his life, if he has a strong view on something he will stick to it and refuse to waver, even if he is wrong. It is in these circumstances that only Jesse can bring him around.

Jesse is a little timid, quiet and appears shy. Always standing slightly behind his brother he does not like to make decisions and appears to be pushed around by Dante. It is only behind closed doors that the real relationship is evident, the one in which Dante leans on his brother for support. Jesse is usually the one that smiles and makes light of things, this does not make his brother a pessimist for he too knows there is a silver lining, he just has to look a little harder for it.

The boys share an unusually strong brotherly bond, they have loved each other dearly since childhood. There have been many attempts from others to break the bond they have but all have failed and they have come out stronger than before. They are always together and usually finish each others sentences, in Jesse's case he doesn't really have to speak often as Dante will just speak for him. Their bond is such that they have developed a certain clairvoyance when it comes to each other and are able to predict the others next move. Hence why they don't play chess any more.

History:
Born 14th June 1842 to a highly respected and upper class family they grew up in London in a large house by the Thames. The family owned a larger house in the country where they would go for long summer visits. The family consisted of a strict, law abiding father and a wife who followed his every wish. The family was large with four children, including the boys, at the time.

There was Adele who was the eldest at eight and Iris who was five when the twins were born. The children were brought the most expensive clothes and given the finest education. From the age of three the boys were being shown off and having young daughters from other families introduced to them.

When they were four their mother had another child, a baby girl named Lorie. By this time the boys had managed to make a name for themselves and were always getting into trouble, even their own parents could not tell them apart. When one of them did get into trouble both were punished swiftly by their father, who sometimes took things a little too far.

It was widely believed that children were wicked and needed to be trained to overcome the evil within them, a task that was easy when taming the girls but no amount of beating seemed to batter the boys will. It was widely known that the man of the house, Ronald D’arc, had never needed to beat any of his daughters but it was only the boys who knew why. His wife had suspicions but turned a blind eye. Through the hard years of life, when the beatings and abuse against their sisters was at its worse, Dante relied on Jesse for comfort. It was in fact Jesse who appeared the stronger of the two and Dante was often found running after and clinging onto him. Not that Jesse minded.

It was at the age of thirteen that what they did begin to go past the law, or so it was thought. They had a great love for each other and when they did not bat an eyelid at many of the girls presented before them in their next few years homosexuality was suspected. This was not the case, although they did spend as much time as they could together, year 15 to 16 was the worst in their young lives when they were separated for the entire year in the hope to tear away from them the love that they felt.

It didn’t, absence makes the heart grow fonder but on their reunion things were different, Jesse fell back a little and Dante had become more confident. Before Dante had thought that Jesse cared for him little and had tried to force love upon his brother by always being clinging and doing what he wanted, but on their reunion he saw that Jesse loved him just as much so began to step up a little. It was he who first suggested a certain love affair that the boys had when they were seventeen with a young duke who also found himself attracted to men.

Dante had always been attracted to the same sex but it was Jesse who was bisexual and also found women attractive. The only thing he ever kept from his brother was his love of Cassandra Royals a fifteen year old from a middle class family that the D’arcs had become involved with. It was not custom for a couple of upper class to have sex before marriage but Jesse took Cassandra’s virginity on a night of a ball held by his parents for their sons eighteenth birthday.

Nine months later Cassandra gave birth to a baby boy, her family were distraught and told her to get rid of the baby. So she took him to an orphanage in a dark part of town and left him on the steps with a golden locket and a single piece of paper with his name on it. Lucas.

Jesse never knew about the baby, in fact after the party he did not see Cassandra for over a year but the boys did continue to see the young duke. It was on one night when they were on their way home from his manor house that they took a short cut down a dark alley where they met a man who would change their lives forever.

The vampire claimed to have been watching them for the last year or so and thought that they would benefit from eternal life. He changed them both and took on the role of their sire, teaching them everything they needed to know.

There were only a few things they wanted to do before leaving their home, in fact just two. Kill their father and visit the young Duke. In the morning there were two dead bodies found, one was Ronald’s, the other their first feed. The Duke.

Jesse had one last thing he wanted to do, he wanted to visit Cassandra and that meant explaining everything to Dante. At first Dante was angry, but anger soon turned to understanding and they went to Cassandra who told them of Lucas. When Jesse found out that he had a son he refused to leave and headed to the orphanage where he inquired about the boy who had been left there, named Lucas.

After a year the whole family went up to the summer house and the boys went with. The family hadn’t seen them much in the last year and the twins wanted to spend some time with them. Their house was in a small village of grand houses where all the rich went to whittle away their summer.

The family went to France the next year, a trip paid for by their deceased father’s fortune. It was there that the family discovered the boys secret and the twins were forced to kill their own family. Stricken with grief and guilt the twins fled, Jesse’s confidence falling sharply as he clung to his brother for support. He was the more emotional of the two now, since seeing Lucas two years before.

The boys travelled the world for the next few years meeting many vampires and other races on the way. They agreed to the balls because it added a little more zest to their lives.
