Appearance: Effy has short chestnut-brown hair that never lies flat. She is tall and very slender, almost to the point of looking sickly. Her face is weather-beaten, but contrasted greatly with her child-like doe eyes, pert pug-nose dotted with freckles, and gap-toothed smile. She has a gash in the side of her stomach, which she proudly displays, calling it a "battle scar" (she really got it in a farming accident). Effy usually wears a pink, floral motorycle helmet, given to her by her sister.

Personality: Effy is a brash girl with a loud mouth. She is easily angered, although considers this a poor character trait and tries to overcome it by meditating daily. She has a bit of a problem with authority, and while she takes care to follow any specific rules set for her, she certainly doesn't conform to social conventions. At heart, she is a nomad, and can't sit still for long. She's always had the extremely strange, not to mention dangerous, urge to venture into Des. She generally keeps that particular urge to herself. Years of living in Nomme and having nothing better to do has led to Effy being quite good at solving puzzles and riddles. While living in Nomme, she took great pride in her intelligence, although now that she lives in Pandora, her intelligence is overshadowed by her completele ignorance in Pandorian ways. She is brave to a fault, and often overestimates her abilities. She often ventures into the seedier areas of Pandora, getting herself into less-than-desirable situations, but somehow always manages to come out on top.

History: Effy was born in a small village outside of Pandora. She was the youngest child in a large farming family, and was particularly close to her eldest sister, Avaria, or "Avi". Avi moved away to Pandora when Effy was quite young, although Avi would write to her younger sister constantly. This continued until Effy's 21st birthday. When her sister didn't contact her for over two months, Effy knew something had to be wrong. Her mother had died of a fever years ago, and her father passed away shortly after, leaving Effy to take care of the farm on her own. Effy, not willing to take care of it without the help of her family, let it fall in to ruin. She sold it for a modest price to a landowner, and soon took off for Pandora in the motorbike given to her by her family for her eighteenth birthday. Upon reaching Pandora, Effy was completely overwhelmed by the sheer size. She is still trying to find the whereabouts of her sister in this maze of a utopia. She is optimistic about it, although recent whisperings of mysterious "dissaperances" have caused her to begin to doubt.

San`taic: Effy found her high-tech companion in a dumpster outside of a bar. Thinking she could sell it for a bit of spare cash, she picked it up. To her surprise, it lit up at her touch. The San`taic is slightly broken, often speaking in staccato, muttering a long string of unnintelligable words, or else shutting down completely. And frankly, it's quite rude as well.
