Personality: Bitter, angry, resentful and hostile, all perfect words to describe Mason, but all of these pale in comparison to the man’s sense of individuality, he and he alone with decide what to do with his life, and may the gods help you if you tell him otherwise. Of course, if you have the coin, he’d by happy to take a request.

History: The youngest of three brothers, Mason was always the runt of the family. His two older brothers were twins, and were prodigies when it came to running the family business of managing trade routes, they were smart, charming, good looking and were the apple of their mothers eye. Mason’s father died when he was just becoming a teen, leaving his older brothers to run the business, this shift in the family dynamic left Mason even more alienated than before. It also didn’t help that Mason’s mother never seemed to have time for him, always doting over his brothers instead, and this lack of attention from his mum got him the nickname ‘Tat’ because it would seem, ‘There was never a tit for tat’.

This lack of attention growing up drove Mason to become a very bitter individual, and as soon as he was able to he struck out on his own, disowning his family in the process. He quickly fell in with gangs, and other such folk, quickly making a name for himself as a ruthless criminal and overall rotten fellow. This would continue for several years, Mason taking odd jobs as a gunman, and not hearing a word from his family. That was until he got a message notifying him that his Mother had contracted the Xephon disease and had been taken to Des, and he was requested back home by his brothers.

While Mason had nothing but bitter and pain filled memories of his mother, his older brothers had nothing but overwhelming love for their lost parent, and they couldn’t stand to see her dragged away to the cursed city of Des. So they offered their wayward little brother a job, go to Des, find their mum, bring her back, all of his expenses would be paid in full and he would be well equipped for the mission.

Mason agreed, and he went about quipping himself with some of the best weaponry available, a custom built battle rifle firing caseless HE rounds, a suit of carapace body armour including a helmet brimming with sensors, low light filters, and assorted electronics, and of course the obligatory rebreather mask with a backpack O2 scrubber unit for near limitless supplies of oxygen. Once he was happy with his kit, he set off to Des, not to bring his mum back, but to kill her, one last merciful act for a poor parent by their forgotten son.
