Description

Appearance

Syn'daar seems to have no drastically altered features about himself, therefore he appears as any other human would possibly be viewed. A full head of hair adorns his cranial structure, which flows down to a little lower than his shoulders. Raven black in color, he often keeps it pulled back and up in a top-knot. He is a very muscular person, and prides himself on not only his physical strength, but his 'good' looks as well. Vain and arrogant in regards to himself, and his skills as a person, he is often prepared to give a display of what he can do. He shows off his arrogance in keeping his shirts sleeves, allowing his perfectly toned arms to always be in full view.

His clothing is ritualistic more than anything else. A crimson cloak constantly adorns his body, the cowl pulled up over his head. Only when he must battle does he remove the cloak, and let his full body be shown, or when he's trying to impress or intimidate another. Beneath the cloak he wears loose-fitting clothing, traditionally of a Japanese-era Samurai Outfit, with the exception of the sleeves on the shirt portion.

His wrists are adorned with several rune-type tattoos, though whether these are actual runes or just rune-like symbols isn't yet known, though it is theorized that these runes are the reason for his immense physical might.

Age: 32

Sex: Male

Orientation: Straight

Height: Six feet

Weight: Two hundred pounds

Hair Color: Raven Black

Eye Color: Hazel

Complexion: A deep, tan mulatto

Physique: Muscular.

Strengths: Fighting; Hand-to-Hand, Rune Casting, Sword, Guns. Physical Might, Mental Prowess.

Weaknesses: His inborn hatred of those with Xephon, and for anyone who messes up his 'perfection', often causes him to rush headlong into situations that could have originally been avoided. Because of that, it causes him to -- sometimes -- get himself injured because he doesn't think before he acts.

Citizenship: Pandorian

Position: Ser, preferably a "Knight"

Personality

Likes: Himself, His city, his San'taic, did I mention himself?

Dislikes: Xephon, and those stricken with it.

Personality: Syn'daar is a very, very vain human being. He only cares, truly, about himself and his looks. He spends more time than most making sure that everything about himself is perfect, and when something ruins that perfection he tends to get angry, often-times destroying that which ruined the perfection in the first place.

He has a soft spot for children, and no love at all for those stricken with Xephon. He feels, strongly, that those afflicted with the disease should be killed on sight, rather than just carted off to a forgotten corner of Nelariath.

Equipment

San`taic: Syn'daar's San'taic is a small, crimson orb which fits perfectly into his helm. There it's held by gravitational devices which enact a force of twenty times Terra's normal gravity on the orb alone, while other runic magicks and mechanisms protect the orb's structure, and keeps it from disintegrating into dust from the sheer pressure being enacted upon it.

Character Equipment

Weapons

The Sword of an Ancient God: This is Syn'daar's main weapon, and always will be his first choice in combat. While named what it is, it is actually not a weapon forged by or for a God, it is just a naturally made claymore-type sword with runes imbued all about its blade and hilt. These runes have unknown functions, but are theorized to be capable of keeping the blade from dulling, as well as making it able to slice through the toughest of materials with the lightest of touches. Syn'daar wields this weapon with a proficiency never before seen, though it is thought that some of the veteran Ser's might be able to match him in armed combat. While these only account for two - three of the actual Runes, the others have yet to be seen used, but surely someday they will become known to the world.

Tur'ven Assault Rifle: A weapon designed and built by Syn'daar, this assault rifle is a multi-functional tool which he is often not seen without. While the blade is his first choice, sometimes his skills as a swordsman just aren't enough. For those times, he has the Tur'ven. This assault rifle fires concentrated bolts of plasmatic energy, capable of disintegrating the flesh of a human being on impact. The beauty of the weapon is that its range seems to be limited only by Syn'daar's capabilities as a marksman, which are rather high. Another unique quality of the weapon is that it can switch from firing concentrated bolts, to concentrated beams. The beams are rarely used against flesh opponents, as they're mainly used for cutting his way through metal walls, and objects.

Armor

Syn'daar's armor consists of family heirlooms, handed down through his family for generations.

Ancient Helm

A helmet that seems to have been around for a centuries, it shows no signs of wear and tear, nor its true age is able to be discerned through merely looking at it. Syn'daar wears it constantly beneath his cloak's cowl, as it houses and protects his San'taic. The helm is imbued with runes of protection and intelligence, and it is thought that Syn'daar gained his skills through the use of the Helm.

Ancient Breastplate and Backplate

The breast and backplates are designed to protect his torso all the way around. Like his helm, it shows no signs of its true age, nor does it show any sign of use. As the armor seems to repair itself after a battle, it is often hard to tell that Syn'daar had even been in a fight to begin with. At the point of his vital organs are runes which imbue Syn'daar's body with what seems to be unlimited breath, and cardiovascular health. This makes him nearly immune to any form of fatigue, though his muscles can still become weary over time. He compensates for that by practicing daily, and keeping his body toned to the fullest.

Ancient Gauntlets

The Gauntlets are another heirloom, which are also covered in runes. The runes on each gauntlet imbue his body with the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. Each gauntlet, just like the previous armor pieces, show no sign of wear and tear, nor do they seem to be that old.

Known Permanent Runes

Arm & Leg Runes: The Runes on his arms are in constant effect, and never disappear, as they are imprinted into his flesh by tattoo. These runes allow him to be immensely stronger, and faster, than the average Nelariathian. This gives him a considerable edge over most of his combatants, and these runes are one of the main reasons he has progressed so far in his Ser-hood.

Sword Runes: While the actual function of most of these runes is unknown, they are written in blood and ink, etched into the very metal of the sword. Even when used, they remain in place. However, once used they're unusable for a period of time, never more than an hour, but never less than five minutes. Because of this, the use of the runes on the sword which have affects that do not directly affect the sword, itself, is limited.

Armor Runes: Etched into the Armor with blood, blade, and ink these runes are the final set of permanent runes which fall under Syn'daar's command. However, these Runes only activate during battle, and are impossible to activate outside of battle. After a battle ends, they deactivate, but are immediately usable again. The downfall to these, though, is that Syn'daar has to be attacked before the Runes will activate. If he attacks someone who simply defends themselves, the Runes will not activate.

History

History: Syn'daar was born into a wealthy family. He was raised to hate those with Xephon, as his mother had contracted the disease soon after his birth and he felt abandoned by her because of it. His father raised him to hate anyone with the affliction. At the age of 10, Syn'daar began training to become a Ser of Pandora. At the same time, a scandal became known in his house. His father had been secretly hunting down anyone who was showing the first signs of being afflicted with Xephon, and killing them. The authorities had been looking for who had done it, even though most of them regarded those with Xephon as lower beings. Because of his father's outrageous double life, Syn'daar almost lost his chance to become a Ser.

However, The Gastonaan saw to it that Syn'daar's training continued, as he saw a great amount of potential in the boy. At the age of 16, Syn'daar was barely an apprentice Ser, and was able to best several full-fledged Ser's in single combat. At the age of 17, he was promoted to full Ser status, and has been serving the Gastonaan without question since. His allegiance is to Pandora, as he has become a more-than-loyal subject throughout the years.

Other parts of Syn'daar's are repressed memories, things he has purposely pushed into the back of his mind for various reasons. These memories will make themselves known from time-to-time, at which time I'll add them into the profile.
