Name
Sarai Ozeiel
Nickname
She's often called Mouse because she's quiet and hard pressed to speak around other vampires.
Age
532 - turned at sixteen years old.
Gender
Female
Appearance
Sarai is young and relatively short, standing only at 5"5 and barely weighing 115 pounds. She is thin but not boney and her skin is quite pale, matching her bright white blond hair. Often she is the last person to be noticed in the room, her sense of fashion and natural stature nothing shocking. As a former human, Sarai has a penchant for more standard Earthly fashion trends as opposed to her vampire cohorts. She walks quietly and talks lowly most often and easily fades into the background due to her overall appearance being rather plain. Most often Sarai keeps her hair long and bone straight - her natural style. Her makeup is often subdued and she doesn't have the typical vampire flare to be anything eccentric looking. As a result she's often feminine and sophisticated in a human way, with her makeup often a 20s or 50s throwback - her two favorite most recent decades. Everything she wears is functional with a slight girly twist. She is only 16 so she often looks more childish than adult, but it suits her and most often has people ignore her more than they already would which is good in her book.
Occupation
As a human of Cruorem Orbis she was born into slavery and served as a blood servant to many of the King's courts. When she was turned by Corvin, one of the King's secretaries and schedule planners, she became a keeper of humans, before graduating to prepare humans for bedding, before finally ascending to formal paperwork and assistant clerical work, until most recently King Alexander assigned her to the care of his latest human slave Simone.
Skills/Equipment
By way of physical strength, Sarai has little but she is quick on her toes and has a fast reaction time considering her age. Her greatest skill is perhaps her control over her thirst. As a human turned vampire who then worked with humans for three quarters of her second life, she has spend more time around bleeding humans with the strict rule not to harm them. As a result she is not as weak and vulnerable to blood, though she still needs to drink every day. She is subdued and her lack of passions often work to her advantage, as well as her overall attentive manner - she's most often a wallflower taking in the details of a situation, making her a valuable source of information on the court and those within it. When it comes to formal fighting, she's more of the flight type though she can throw knives fairly well - enough to give her time to get away that is.
Personality
Sarai isn't called Mouse for gnatty hair or buck teeth - the nickname stems from her stature around her fellow vampires: quiet, squeaky, and to a degree a nuisance. She is not the quickest learner, and her human intuitions often trump her vampire ones. The result: she works twice as hard to get something right the first time and still she often screws something up a long the way. At heart Sarai is submissive to her court members. She feels lowly and as such she acts that way. In the vampire hierarchy she remains low, though no longer the lowest. Conscientious of her place, Sarai aims to do all that she can to please those above her, and rarely as such does she think or take time for herself. She is mannered and respectful. Her curiosity however can get her into trouble, and her ability to find herself in a room full of people discussing important details within the Vampire Court is astounding. But she is fiercely loyal and she would sooner die than roll over on anything related to the King, despite her not knowing him well or ever having worked with him directly until she was assigned to care for Simone.
Around humans Sarai acts completely different. They are stupid, expendable food sources to her, the lowest of the low. While she herself was one, she views them as gross animals that give into their passions too often and are ignorant of the consequences of their actions. The superiority that she feels around humans leads her to feel little empathy for them. She is not afraid to talk down to them, be harsh, or force them to comply. This side of her disappears completely around other vampires, however. Though the entitlement she feels can sometimes spill over - leading to less than good outcomes.
History
Sarai was born a slave. She was the product of two humans of Cruorem Orbis who somehow procreated. When she was born she was immediately whisked away, raised as a captive of the court. Her blood was tantalizing, a rare type that she cannot remember. It made her worthy of being kept by the court, first as a blood slave for the vampire children, and then ultimately to officials within the court itself as she grew older. Her life was difficult. Each year seemed to see all of the people she knew killed. She was beaten often, or sucked dry within an inch of her life. It was a violent and cruel life that got marginally better when she was brought into a dinner party for administrator's within the court and sat in front of Corvin, a secretary for Alexander concerned with updating the King's schedule when he was seeing people. Corvin became addicted to her blood. As a result he began to favor her. Initially it seemed too good to be true, as the care she received was so much better than before. Then on the night of her sixteenth birthday Corvin moved to bed her, and then he turned her without even thinking about what she wanted. Sarai survived the transition, but barely. When she awoke, it was a torrid affair. To be a turned vampire had her better off than being a human but still less than the natural born kind. Corvin trained her before sending her off to work within the court as a keeper of the blood slaves. She went to tending her friends before they died, taking in the children of slaves and giving them over to vampire children. It proved no better to be on the other end of the deal. But it hardened her and after a century of having every one of her humans under her care die, she stopped feeling. In time Sarai moved to tending to humans for bedding, a humiliating position but one she did well. It was only within the past century of her life that she was taken out of human care and into the bureaucratic fold: Corvin hired her as his own assistant. She was so excited until she began to work for him. The love he had felt for her, the addiction he had had to her as a human, was gone however. The reality was that Corvin was an incredibly violent man and Sarai became his favorite play thing. Fifty years ago Corvin died. Sarai maintained her job, away on an errand when it happened. Corvin had enemies, that she knew. She never cared to learn the details. She was happy not to deal with him finding it fun to bleed her dry, even as a vampire. She moved onto more clerical work, filing, petitions, letters and bookkeeping. She was a go getter of coffee, clothes and supplies. The trip to Earth had her brought along, recommended for her ability to blend with humans, buy supplies, meet with the people of earth. Sarai never expected to be sent by her cohorts to tell the king that Nebellia was out. She drew the short straw as they say, and suddenly landed herself caring for a human. And for the first time she was tasked with keeping one alive - something that's proven nearly impossible thus far.
