Introduction

Back before Perdamaia was even populated by the different races, a demon by the name of Gamach tried to overthrow the gods. He created an amulet that would allow him to enter Paradise and destroy the gods and allow him to take over ruling the universe. But one of his demon minions who he had told his plans to betrayed him and told the gods of his plan. When Gamach used the amulet to enter Paradise, the gods were ready for him. They trapped him in a stone and put it and the amulet in a place where they thought no one else would find it. Now, thousands of years later, the rumour that this amulet and stone were found, causing a mass hysteria to get to them, either for greed, power, glory, or of the will of gods, people are after them.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

If we don't start soon, I'm putting my character's up for adoption.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Just tell me when we start

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

im sorry i'm not gonna have time to post for awhile, so im gonna have to push it back to next week.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Drow and other "deep" creatures live in the Underdark, not on the surface. Bright light hurts Drow, Durrow, Deep Halfings, and Deep gnomes...
Shouldn't the place entitled "Home of the Drow," be underground?

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

so do we start today?

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Aren't Nymphs supposed to have breathtaking beauty and be able to lure people to water to either kill them or grant them the ability to breathe underwater and be their mates? That would explain where half-orc water nymphs come from, but if I was one, I don't think I'd waste myself on an orc...ew....

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

a nymph does not have a tail. its easier for them to get around. we're starting friday. it would've been tomorrow, but i'm going to be gone all day tomorrow so i cant do it.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

i'll be making awater nympth character! i'll try to have her up tomorrow
when are you starting?

would a water nymph have a tail?

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Savath (sah-vath) is not the character.........his crystal is :)

As far as character-plot goes for him, the crystal seeks to be come a crystal construct, and the warforged is like "'eh...whatever. as long as I get to kill something."

gawd starting a DnD-based RP is a pain the greaser some times... isn't it? Oh well...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Eberron#Warforged Eberron race called the Warforged. One of my all-time favorite races out of any Roleplaying games that I've had the chance to play.
That link isn't great......
ok after searching for 10 minutes, I fail to find an adequate explanation of the Warforged race from DnD 3.5ed (the best version of the game, if I may say so myself. in 4thed, everyone is WAY too powerful, and "original" and 2nd ed just needed work on their rules, like the THAC: 0 thing)

Living construct: Warforged are constructs that can think on their own and have a constitution score
Gets all the benefits of class levels
resistance to mind-Effecting spells and abilities
Immunity to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, disease, nausea, fatigue, exhaustion, effects that cause the sickened condition, and energy drain.
Cannot "heal" naturally (must repair)
Subject to "critical hits," non-lethal damage, stunning, ability damage, drain, and death/necromancy effects
Half-effected by "cure" spells (cure light wounds, lay on hands, et cetera), can be healed by "repair" spells (repair minor damage, repair major damage, mechanist's touch)
Crafted from metals and ironbark, thus can be effected by "rusting grasp" or "repel wood" type spells
When reduced to 0 hitpoints, they're "disabled" not "killed"
Can be "raised" or "resurrected" like normal people
Does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, but can benefit from effects of consumable spells and magic items such as "heroes' feast" and potions.
Although they do not need to sleep, they must "rest" for 8 hours like any other spellcaster to replenish spells
+2constitution, +2strength, -2wisdom, and -2 charisma. Warforged are resilient and powerful, but their difficulty in relating to other creatures makes them seem aloof or even hostile.
Can be made small, medium, or large
Speed based on size
Natural armor +2 (can be made higher if crafted from different materials. Mithril and Adamant bodies are common)
Harder to score crits on
"Natural weapon" both arms can serve as "slam attacks"
Starting language: common. Bonus: Language of creator, any others.

Would this be a playable race in this campaign?

sure.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

sure. ok, i'll put the order on the post up top.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

It's fine, I suppose.

Can we have a posting order? (think of it like everyone keeps rolling the same initiative over and over again for some reason or another)

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

ok, i'm waiting for more people to join, so i'm thinking on starting this on friday. is that good?

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Mac0:
As much of a nerd as I am, I do know a way to keep track of XP (exp, experience, et cetera) within a roleplay like this, but I'm not nerd enough to actually do it... Besides, it's easier to just say "to hell with the rules" since the point of Rping is to tell a story and have fun. Actual DnD is about conquest and leveling...

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

half-races are acceptable. as for the leveling stuff, i don't know how to do that, so if you want to do that, its up to you to keep track of it. p.s. the intro will be going through a revision, so take another look at that later.

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Hi there guys, can i make a half orc female? I want to make a mercenary out of her. Maybe she can help Sylver along the story =)

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Also: as far as character-plot goes, Sylver is searching for an old, elven artifact, along with a lot of Lolth-Worshippers. He's a good guy (neutral) and plans to use it for "Good" (and his own personal gain) so that the Lolth people don't worship their vile goddess into existence....

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

Trolls and Drow are playable races? Sweet...

Are you following any sort of level up or balancing system? I don't want to keep bookwork with "This character has XXX feat and XXX strength stat" ...
And what about racial abilities? Do drow get faire fire and light blindness?

Re: [OOC] Perdamaia

i haven't really come up with a plot to follow yet, at least none that aren't cheesey. if you have any ideas, i'm all ears!
