Introduction

(Theme Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_8dtWrR ... 5&index=22 )

The only sanctuary to pirates the City of Black port a ruthless and gruesome abode. Filled with miscreants, criminals, sailors, and the most fearsome of pirates. One can sell their own soul here for a silver only to find it for ten steel… tis a place where the poor can become rich and rich become poor with in hours time. Tis also the place to find a proper vessel to sail under as you perform your duty to your captain or crew.

Shall you rise with the cutlass and dagger in hand face off against navies and mercenaries fight off knights and beasts to earn your keep? Or will you feel the scorn of the great lady ocean? Will you stand proud on board a salt washed deck watching as your foes sink before your eyes. Will you rise above your counterparts and rise to glory?

Or will you take the path of the rapier and saber against the fell deeds of piracy. Stand with the fleets of emperors and stave off villainy. Shall you become a hero to your people or shall you be given to the sea in which you served upon in wooden pride? Rise for the land of Dophia or maybe stand with the Black Jet Empire… will you rise with your fellow marine and sailor? Shall you triumph… or shall you be mourned… if that.

Ships. (Pirates can modify their ships)
Angel of the West. These speed based vessels can support ten cannons on each side while capable of outrunning most ships they are very lightly armored and thin. Easily capsizes but capable of taking minimum damage while fleeing.

Fist of the Fell. A heavy warship which holds three masks and over thirty cannons. Heavily armored and covered in defensive positions this ship is easily the best ship for brute strength under pirate control.

Shackles of the Impure. A specially designed blockade runner. Built so most of its hull is under water allowing it to easily slip through larger ships. Armed with only one small cannon on its roof its sole-purpose in combat is to sneak up on enemy warships and puncture their lower hulls with a close range cannon burst.

Lord of the Brine. A Capital ship used only by pirate lords. Fast enough to out run naval interceptors but armed well enough to defeat enemy warships. Housing eighty cannons moderately armored its armed with two harpoon guns and a catapult which is used to lob jars of Greek fire onto enemy decks to clear them before boarding.

Humanic Empire. Colors White and Blue

Basic Weapons
Officers
Rapier
Reloadable one shot pistol.
Breast plate
Crew
Saber
Spears
Halberd
Shields
Chain mail

Ships
Hand of the Heavens. A fast interceptor ship capable of running down most vessels. Slower then Angels of the West but much more deadly. Armed with twenty cannons on each side this war vessel is moderately armored and more then capable of out maneuvering combat vessels.

Tear of the Saint. A warship armed with sixty cannons total. Heavily armored but still fast enough to catch other warships this ship maneuvers slowly but is armed with a battering spike on its bow for shattering through enemy hulls.

Sinner Among Saints. The Capital ships of the Humanic Empire. Armed with over a hundred and twenty cannons in total this hulking warship is slow but powerful. Capable of overpowering all but the best captains with pure brute strength and board ships with its massive crew.

The Black Jet Empire

Basic Weapons.
Captain
Greatsword
Fullplate
Whip
Longsword

Crew
Longsword
Warhammer
Battle axe
War axe
Maul
Spears
Chain mail
Halfplate
Musket rifle.

Ships
Dissention. A light ship used as an interceptor. Housing sixty cannons and metal plating this heavy ship is the fastest and lightest ships the Black Jet Empire uses. Capable of holding of a Tear of the Saint with ease.

Obelisk of the Hammer. These massive ships are armed with a single small cannon based atop a giant towering bladed bow. Set with heavy metal plates that deflect most cannon fire the only vulnerable places on these juggernauts are their decks and the submerged hull. Steam powered with the use of oars and masks this ship can pick up high speeds in a straight line leveling anything and everything in its way. Used for transporting armies these ships tear apart enemy lines with ease until boarded or struck with a lucky cannonball.

Obelisk of the Gods. These capital ships are much like their lesser visions of the Obelisk of the Hammer. Though these ships don’t have hulking bows instead a flat platform armed with a massive cannon replaces the cutting edge of their lesser forms. Still made for ramming its main cannon can fire over twenty full sized cannonballs at once. Ripping apart enemy ships at such rates it isn’t funny. Though do to its weight the bow of the ship is lightly armored compared to the rest of the heavily armored ship. Also lower decks give my chance to strike at the wooden decks which are so vulnerable.

You may make your own ships just ask me first, but keep these plans in mind when making them. As they say a lot about how each faction builds their ships. Pirates speed and utility, The Humanic Empire Balanced, and the Black Jet Empire Defense and Ramming.

There may only be two captains for each faction unless you give me a really good reason/idea that I should allow more.

Only one admiral per faction… only admirals are allowed Capital ships. They require a very good history and Humanic Empire Admirals require thirty years of service to the navy, you may join at twelve. Black Jet Empire admirals require twenty years of service you may join at the age of eight. Pirate lords (equivalent of admirals) must be in their twenties or older otherwise no one would follow them.

A fully corrupted is capable of ripping through armor and solid stone with bare hands.

(Theme Music- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=268J79vJMSY )

The massive ship broke through rolling fog that drifted towards the port. Lightning and thunder following the unnatural dark clouds that lingered above the dark ship. Its massive bow’s figure head was of a succubus reaching out to embrace her foes. The dark wood hull was flawless its construction could bring a tear to any sailor. Four massive masts drew it forward as its crew readied it to dock. The large flag that identified it held a inverted horned cross of Zatolen. Fear seemed to flow from the dark ship as the ropes were secured and planks were dropped down. Most of its crew following a man wrapped in dark robes and a cloak. His red eyes burned with the intensity of the setting sun. The air seemed to chill as he walked down the gravel street which where he stepped seemed paved from his pure strength crushing the stone. He looked at the darkly lit buildings of wood and stone stepping into a tavern followed by twenty men, the rest had left his lead and gone off to do what need to be done. He sat down slowly calling a wench to get him and his mean the finest ale the tavern had… their seemed to be a subconscious segregation… him and his crew sat in one corner with a large patch of empty seats around them and past that heavily packed and overcrowded tables of the rest of the patrons…Who would dare risk insulting a corrupted let alone a pirate lord.

Sitting on a stool in one of the darker corners of the tavern Mary "Munki" Ragell stole a glimpse of the pirates just arrived, the regular patrons moving off to the other side of the establishment out of fear. News travel fast in Black Port and she had heard a rumor that none other than Captain Alexanderson Vargus had just came into port, knowing that most sailors stopped here for refreshments of various kinds she decided that it would be the best place to check aside from the docks. This time, the rumors were true and the Pirate Lord and twenty of his ruthless men were now sitting not far from her as she played her fiddle. Though the tavern owner knew she was a thief he allowed her in to play as long as she gave him a portion of the loot, she had been playing swinging sea shanties up until this point, using her bow to cut peoples purse while her feet and tail let the coins drop into her pockets. Now such things did not seem appropriate, slowing down to a low song describing a tragic tale, "Oh great mother ocean, so boundless and free," She sang, "Now your sweet arms turned cold and h've forsaken me..." The group was only a few feet away and for once she did not feel like stealing, she was too afraid.

The stories hardly did him justice, his eyes burned like the sun sinking into the ocean's endless horizons and his fearsome, murderous crew looked peaceable by comparison. Still, Munki had little choice in what she was considering now with the soldiers on her tail and sweeping the whole of Black Port. All other ships had refused her joining, threatening to slit her throat if she attempted to stow away knowing her thieving inclination. This ship was her last chance of escape and as she saw it there were only two basic options; either she ask to join his crew or she stow away. Mary detested murder and didn't even like to eat meat, she was a simple pickpocket and performer so she found it hard to think of why they would accept her as she continued to play the mournful melody. Though she would doubtless be able to get aboard as a stow away if she was found she hesitated to think of what foul punishment this corrupted man would devise, she had heard terrible stories... The Anubian decided to stay and watch him for a few more minutes before making her decision, only playing songs she felt would please such dark and cursed individuals.

Two naval officers walked in approaching Munki they went for their swords. “You there… try at run and we won’t ‘estate to kill ya wench.”

Vargus turned his stare towards the two. Pulling on one of his gloves tighter and then following with the second. “I would ill advise interrupting the minstrel…” He said slowly… his voice quiet yet it seemed to overpower even the yells that raced through the tavern.

“Who da ‘ell do you think you are boy?” One of the soldier said spitting at him with a cocky laugh.

Vargus slowly got up the entire tavern falling silent as he stepped forward lifting a spoon from his table. He wrapped his other hand around the soldier’s sword crushing the metal with his bare hand before he hit the man over the head with the spoon his helmet caving in with a loud screeching and crunch the spoon didn’t make it… “Return to your song minstrel…” He said returning to his seat as the second soldier charged forward, Vargus grabbed his wrist twisting his arm behind his back he threw the man against the roof before in stepping on his back after he fell to the floor. He lay deathly still… Vargus returning to his drink as if nothing had happened.

Blackport was just as scuzzy as Scarlet remembered, perhaps even moreso, were that possible. Shingles were missing from half of every roof, and the siding peeled straight off the facades of most of the houses. Merchants hawked subpar wares from stands set haphazardly in the grimy streets and alleyways, and dirty-faced children were constantly underfoot. Frankly, dodging twenty pickpockets every time she wanted to go to the damn tavern was becoming more trouble than it was worth, but she was not the type to do anything about it. Scarlet Kate didn't do anything remotely similar to work unless she was paid, and paid well.

So when she swung open the tavern door and noticed the two men on the ground, she simply stepped over them to the bar, laying a few coppers on the table. "Your best ale, please," she requested flatly. The mug was swift in coming, and she lazily shifted in her chair to observe the room. The tavern was eerily quiet save for the playing of the solitary minstrel (who seemed as though she might have been Scarlet's twenty-first pickpocket in any other situation), and it was not hard to identify the reason. Apparently, the Corrupted pirate lord himself had decided to grace this establishment with his presence. She could quite nearly smell the fear radiating off of the others in the room, all pressed to the far opposite side of the establishment. The serving wench appeared to be wreck, the fake smile plastered on her face swiftly wearing away, an unsteady hand pouring their drinks.

Kate herself was smart enough to be wary, but hardened enough to be little more than that. Fear was a muted emotion in the Daughters of the Wolves, and generally detrimental to those who sailed anyway. Wariness was good; the kind of feeling that set your teeth on edge and kept your eyes sharp and watchful. Fear, that cursed paralysis of both muscle and thought, was not.

All in all, Scarlet Kate couldn't complain. While the atmosphere was less than lively, it wasn't as though she were the merrymaking sort anyway, and at least all the other men in here were too occupied pissing themselves in terror to proposition her today. So she listened to the minstrel's melancholy tunes, and watched the rabble watching Vargus, and watched Vargus watch everything else, and wondered where she might find her next job.

One of the foremost problems with being an Anubian criminal, Munki had found over the years, was that you had a tendancy to stand out in a crowd which was normally an asset when playing the minstrel but a nuisance if you have any kind of bounty. When the soldiers had approached her she immediately stopped playing, her tail reaching for her dagger and ready to make a break for it when Vargus stood. His voice was like a cold ocean wind, a whisper to most ears but more powerful than a gun and in shock she did nothing for the moment. When the soldiers questioned him, The fools... she had thought, they met a most abrupt end at the hands of this corrupted one and he acted as though nothing had happened, totally void of emotion. “Return to your song minstrel…” Again, that cold voice ordered and made her spine shiver against her explicit wishes and for moment she was too afraid and in awe to do anything. Finally, with a quick nod of thanks and a small monkey-like squeak she sat down again though this time slightly closer to the pirates. Mary resumed her song, continuing the tragic ballad and feeling perhaps her chances were improving, "Alone on this plank, blood floatin' from me," The Anubian continued, "Oh, sweet lady ocean take me!" She finished, the fiddle seeming to moan like the doomed sailor she described and slowly faded into nothing to finish the song.

Her nerves still rattled, Munki Ragell made a short prayer to Dreaous, lord of the underworld and her people, Oh great Dreaous, guide me in the presence of such dark with your great flames... She sniffed the air with her keen simian nose. Fear and blood was all that met her nostrils and her foot began to search the nearest dead soldier's pockets almost subconsciously. Mary began the dark tune of another song but this time did not sing to it, it had no lyrics but held great sorrow and she wanted to talk to the Dread Lord regardless. "Thank you fir riddin' me of that annoyance... If only fir a short while." She began, her voice quiet but she managed to kept fear from creeping into it if only barely, "I believe I owe yer more than j'st these few songs."

Vargus raised one of his eyebrow. “What exactly… are you purposing to repay me with then…” He said with deadly cold eyes. “ My kind do not thirst for pleasures of the flesh… and wealthy people don’t have to worry about guards… “ He said not even looking at her “Tell me mercenary… I’m sure you have a good eye for what one can offer… what do you believe she wishes to offer me if she thinks her songs not enough?” He said reclining with a quick glance at Scarlet.

If there was one instinct that ground into you from living in slum of a port town, it was the fight or flight instinct and Sirius Jenkins could feel it pumping his heart a mile a minute. Still, if there was one other skill you learned from living a hard life, it was how to control your fear before it controlled you. Thus, after taking deep breath and a swig of his ale, Sirius calmed himself.

He was in one of the tables closest to the Pirate Lord, unfortunately for him. He had been the only one that did not scurry to the other end of the room when the corrupted man and his crew took over half the tavern. It was never smart to show weakness. He watched the drama between the minstrel and the corrupted one play out, noting a rather striking woman enter and sit at the bar nonchalantly. She must have had nerves of steel, he noted.

As he took another sip from his ale, Sirius sent out a short prayer to Mealis and the Wolf Goddess to protect the woman, though, personally, he was a follower of Talcor as he liked the god's neutrality and his contradictory stance as imbalance.

'Pleasures of the flesh'? Ergh... Not ev'n I were giv'n my own ship fir that with 'im Mary thought, making a somewhat disgusted face at the though and feeling offended, "I'm no cheap whore... Not ev'n an expensive one." She retorted, her voice a little louder and grinning slightly but continuing to play as any good musician would whilst her tail flicked in a sort of huff. "In fact, Lord Vargus, I ain't a so much minstrel by trade though I'm popular with those types..." She continued, indicating the dead soldiers with her foot and glancing over to the mercenary he had spoken to quickly. She raised a curious eyebrow and swallowed a little nervously, her green eyes avoided meeting the Captain's gaze. "I'm what yer might'n call an 'opportunist', yer see... Let's j'st say people keep their purses close 'round me. Not that it helps..." She chuckled slightly, wondering if Haltheris had struck her with madness considering what she was about to offer to join with this murderous crew, "I figur'd you might'n have an openin' in your crew fir one like me..." She noted a handsome young man closest to Lord Vargus didn't seem very afraid, she could smell less fear on him than others. As a thief she had a good habit of being conscious of everything going on around you, whether it be trouble or opportunity though her current situation seemed a combination of both.

“So… you wish to join the crew of a dread pirate… a man even sea monsters fear?” He said slowly standing up brushing off his robes. “Tell ya what I’ll let you on but you’ll have to play when were not striking fear into the heats of our foes. Being a incarnate of fear in people’s hearts often scares away good minstrels… and not hearing anything but the sound of men grunting and working on my deck does grow old… meet on my flag ship… if you wish to join my crew… anyone who can walk upon that vessel by themselves earns a spot on my crew… though how long you stay among the crew is based on how long you survive.” He left a bag of coins for the tab before flipping a tip to Munki… a golden coin… gold was something most nobility coveted… as it was mainly horded by the dwarves… gold was greedily nabbed by nobility as quickly as possible.

Is that girl insane? She's just a pickpocket and she's going to join a corrupted man's cursed crew? Sirius asked himself with a grimace. He took a swig of his drink. If he was a hero or even slightly drunker, the wench's bastard might have done something. Join the cursed crew or try bargaining with the Pirate Lord. He took in the sight of that gold coin and frowned as he felt his own innate greed long for it only for his more rational side to remind himself that taking money from a Corrupted was worse than a death sentence.

He sighed and tapped a short tune on the table, the one that they played at funerals and hummed lowly an old shanty, "And he took Zatolen's gold and sold his soul."

There. That was his warning. The girl could either take it or leave it.

Munki saw the glint of gold fly through the air to her and her tail flew out, catching the thin precious disk of metal on its tip and keeping it balanced there delicately. Slowly she brought it before her eyes, they sparkled in wonder at this gift that was now within her grasp. Men and beast alike died for this, she had only even heard about it in stories about dwarves and their winding mines that bordes riches beyond anyone's imagination. Mary was transfixed, she stopped playing and gently took it into her long fingers, rotating and sniffing it to see if it was real "Well, I ain't no sea monster..." She grinned, standing and sticking her instrument into one of the larger compartments of her coat with her tail swishing excitedly despite her fear. She heard the handsome one humming, he had a good voice she noted as she recalled the lyrics to that old shanty realising it was not entirely out of context. "And he took Zatolen's gold and sold his soul." The words were wise, she knew that and the man's warning was clear to her ears. Ragell frowned slightly knowing that this was not entirely a case of greed nor fear of authorities, she had always dreamed of sailing away with the pirates and to leave with a famous pirate lord would be incredible. Still, the gold felt somehow dirty, wrong but then she reminded herself that she was not wise. She smiled again, "I'll play fir you 'til the end o' the world if I get that far."

Munki made a quick flourishing bow to Vargus, one she normally used after a performance though this time she relented from the usual routine of using it nick someone's coin purse. As alluring as the gold was it felt wrong to keep it though she had a good idea of who to give it to, she headed for the door to the tavern and attempted to pick the compass from Sirius' pocket with her tail. She looked outside warily before actually exiting the place but quickly made her way to the docks and her father's stall. The old Anubian was closing shop and smiled cheekily when he saw his daughter, "Well I'll be... Old hairy legs has finally showed up, you're late to give me loot you know!" He laughed, the family had been having trouble recently and she was heir main source of merchandise, "Oh can it yer old spider monkey!" Mary retorted, hugging him and leaving the gold coin in one of his own hidden pockets without him noticing, "Listen, I'm gonna be away fir a while... Tell mum I said bye." Before the monkey man could object she ran off to the Dreadwing Revolution, leaping aboard before she could realise how dumb she was acting.

Stupid girl. It's a shame. She was pretty. Sirius thought to himself as he watched her go. He raised an eyebrow when he felt something rustle through his pockets. He looked down to see a tail taking his compass. He considered grabbing her tail, which was what he'd normally do, but he decided to let the minstrel go. The compass could be useful if she ever wanted to escape.

He finished his drink and looked around the room. The atmosphere was once again becoming loud with drunken yelling, laughing, gossiping, and the bellows of orders. It was as though Captain Vargus, his crew, and that girl was never there in the first place.

"I'm running low on money," he muttered to himself, "I need to jump onto a ship or I'd be serving ale again."

Maybe he'd join an Angel of the West or even a Fist of the Fell.

The Dreadwing Revolution’s name was quite accurate… fog seemed to cling to it making it feel as if the ship was out at sea… no one was on the deck of the massive ship. Intricate designs raced up the masks in innate carvings of Zatolen’s preaching and rites… being aboard this ship made one’s blood chill as if they just took a dip in glacial water. One could swear they heard hushed whispers right next to their ears though no one was around. She could swear she heard foot steps and screams coming from the deck… the rush of battle cannons firing wood splintering and splintering into the face of some unfortunate man… this ship told its sorrows and its triumphs… fear inducing and yet… gave forth a certain thrill as she felt a memory of one of the pirates twisting their blades in the gut of a soldier… and fear of the same man meeting his fate as he was ran through with a halberd… it was a dark place stained with blood and tainted by corruption. “ What do we have ‘ere…” Came a slight growled mix with a common.” An Anubian Jackal said coming up from below deck. Only wearing black pants to match his dark fur, a belt of leather which held up a sickle and two assassin daggers. A necklace of Dreaous’ symbol the twin tonfa crossing a crying eye. His muscular body rippled as he moved on all fours towards her circling her with bared fangs.

Tiffany was walking through the west end of the port when she saw the famed ship of the great Alexanderson Vargus coming into port. The flag flew high above the decrepit buildings which instantly told her that this was the ship. This made Tiffany very excited. To be excited about Vargus was something as taboo even in Black Port. People feared the name and would do almost anything to avoid the man and his crew. This was definitely not the case for Tiffany.
She had been waiting for a break like this; A way to get off of the dreaded land and to work under one of the greatest pirates of the seas. She began to rush to the docks so she could see this Pirate Lord in person. Whether he was a corrupt or not, she would not take no for an answer to be on this crew.
She arrived at the docks and just waited there. Waited for the man whom everyone feared.

Vargus was walking back to his ship only two of his men remained with him… what looked like a half-ring troll and a young human man who was missing his left thumb. He was returning to his ship while the rest of the crew finished gathering supplies. He had entered Tiffany’s line of sight by now.

Scarlet kept her tongue when the pirate lord addressed her, guessing that the question was in fact rhetorical, meant only to inform her that the corrupted scourge of the seas was well aware of her silent scrutiny. Apparently, this was the correct assumption, as he made no move to speak directly to her again, instead conversing with the minstrel in a more protracted dialogue which ended, rather interestingly, with a gold coin changing hands.

A slight lift of a blond brow was the only reaction she showed, however, and she watched the pirate and then his supposed new crewperson leave without saying anything to either. She was not terribly shocked to see that Vargus had gold to burn; rumor made him the richest man this side of the sea, at least among those who made their living on it.

The atmosphere took a while to clear after he left, as though the patrons were afraid he might reappear and be enraged to see them merry so soon after his exit. A wry smile twisted her lips as she heard the man sitting closest to where Vargus had been tap a little piece of prophesy on his table. The man looked like he was in need of a spot of work himself, though Scarlet was not surprised he had not been quite so bold as to seek it from Vargus. Few would be quite that foolish, or fearless. She might have been one of them, but her specialty was training crews, and keeping them in order, something she knew that the corrupted would have no problem doing himself. What had he called her? Mercenary? Yes, she supposed that worked well enough. A sword for hire, a blade without allegiance.

"Looking to hire out?" she asked the black-haired man casually. She wasn't one for idle conversation, but if by chance the fellow had already found a ship that was hiring, she wanted to know. It had been quite sometime since Blackport had known the face of Scarlet Kate, and she couldn't rely on her reputation to get her too far around here. The northern ports, maybe. But not in this city of scum and grime.

Tiffany had been waiting a good ten minutes now and her patience was already growing thin. As she contemplated leaving, she saw the man. Her first instinct was to go hide behind the crate she had been sitting on. His presence terrified her now, but she would not let this stop her. She suppressed the fear that was building inside her and ran towards Vargus, though decided to slow down when she noticed that the two men with him seemed uneasy about her running. When she was only about six feet away from the man she decided to say her hello's, "Good evenin' sir" She said as she bowed. Only when she raised her body up again did she notice the red eyes. Undeterred from the eyes, she kept going, "The name's Tiffany, and I've been seekin' a crew to join." She didn't go any further, just to see how he would react to this.

Mary raised her eyebrow at this fellow Anubian, the Jackal was circling her with his fangs bared in suspicion which didn't surprise her in the slightest. She knew Vargus wouldn't have had time alert them of of new crew members and she had found those dog and wolf-like beast races to be less than well mannered, he looked like a guard dog and wasn't acting to the contrary but she saw he was a follower of Dreaous from his amulet. "Relax, my friend... Put yer hackles down." Munki said smoothly, trying to ignore the effects of this cursed ship and the battles filled with blood shed she could smell on every plank. "Dread Lord Vargus has allow'd me to join the crew to entertain yer all... With song 'nd dance mind you, don't yer go gettin' any 'fun' ideas." Ragell added, not wanting them to get the wrong idea. Her tail flicked here and there nervously, this didn't look like someone you would wish to anger though she bared her canines slightly in response to his body language. She crossed her arms, hearing someone talking to presumably Vargus, "Tell you what, if yer don't believe me you can h've a chat with the captain." She suggested, taking the compass she pick-pocketed from handsome young man at the tavern from her tail to her hands and examining it. For once she felt a bit of remorse for stealing it, after all he had tried to warn her even if it did fall on deaf ears. Had she the chance Munki decided she would return it to him which did not seem likely, they would no doubt be leaving port soon and by the time they returned, if they returned, he would probably be gone.

As he was busy pondering the fate of Munki and what to do with himself, Sirius heard someone ask him a question and he looked up. The voice was feminine, though with a rough edge that suggested that he identified with work, hard work. He looked at her up and down, smiling slight at her figure and obvious natural beauty, unhindered by make-up. He nodded at her and gave her a charming smile.

"It depends on the work," Sirius told her with a shrug, "Serving under a Corrupted's command, no thank you. Not enough gold in the world to risk becoming his slave or corrupted myself. If you're suggesting good honest pursuit of fortune, now that's a different story."

He grinned at the subtle reference to piracy. It wasn't enough proof to turn him into the authorities, but it let her know that he'd be willing to get his hands dirty. Legit or piracy, he didn't care much at the moment. Well, except for slaving, but refusing to serve slavers or Corrupted wasn't exactly uncommon.

One of the other patrons began to curse. “Naught ta w’ite saint… oi dat be down ‘ight ‘orrible it is… he ain’t corruptible I ‘ear… turned down eighty steel ta take a break… taught the bloke a good lesson I ‘ear… he coming ‘ere to recruit… ‘e turned the city upside down last time ‘e was ‘ere… put the pirate lord right ‘n proper if ya ask me…”

The man who had mentioned it shrugged. “Dah ye be a fool ta worry et ye goose brained fool… He be the only smart captain in th’ lot oh them… ‘iring pirates ta fight pirates… they know pirate tricks an’ who be thinking bout fighting a pirate on a navy vessel… ’e’ll bring order yet ya wait an’ see.”

The White Saint gentle docked besides the much more beautified Dreadwing Revolution which no one had the courage to dock next to besides him. The naval sails were blue and white showing that they belonged to the Humanic Imperial Navy. Captain Cameron stepped out looking around with his slightly cloudy eyes.

Vargus looked the girl over with a sigh… “Sure are a lot seeking work today… but I am more then willing to take another aboard. My ship is open to all pirates when ever they wish to sail under my flags they can. “ He said continuing towards his flagship.

Scarlet snorted at the reference to the honest pursuit of fortune, somewhere between amused and irritated at his obvious once-over. It was still something she was getting used to, being a woman in public. It was only a few years ago that she'd stopped disguising herself as a young man, after all. Still, he didn't seem an entirely unpleasant sort, and wasn't all that bad to look at himself, come to think of it.

Mentally shrugging, she figured she might as well go ahead and ask her next question. "You any good with a blade?" The question was blunt, and might strike some people as rude, but if he couldn't hack such a simple query without getting offended, he wasn't the person she was after anyway. Truthfully, Scarlet knew the two of them were more likely to get hired if they passed themselves off as a unit of some sort. It would make the fact that she was a woman slightly more acceptable, and the fact that they were both quite young less relevant. Pirate crews only looked for strong fighters, and if the assumption was that people already knew how to work together, all the better. Militaries, she had discovered, liked hiring in groups as well, but only because they were after as many people as possible. Try to get in by herself and she might make it; be seen as part of a twofer with a decently-strong looking male, and her odds were better. The part of her that held her clan's pride resented it, but her seafaring side accepted it as practical necessity.

She cocked an ear as two patrons began to have a garbled conversation about a vessel called the White Saint... that might just be her ticket back out onto the ocean, and this guy's, too, if he played his cards right.

"I am proficient in wielding two daggers, throwing some others, and maybe a little between with my bow," Sirius told her proudly with a grin. He liked where this was going. He shrugged, "I'm quick and accurate. You'd find that it's easier to survive relying on speed rather than brute strength."

He nodded at her, checking her for any visible weapons. He himself had his bow and quiver of arrows strapped to his back, his two long daggers sheathed at his sides, and his other daggers hidden throughout his person. He spoke, "I trust that you're good with a blade as well. Are you recruiting for someone or hoping to hire the both of us as a set?"

At first Tiffany didn't know what to say. She was surprised to be able to get onto the most famous seaworthy ships without a fight. She thought that she was going to have to prove to Vargus that despite her looks, she was more than capable to be a pirate on his ship. This thankfully wasn't the case.
"I would kiss you if you weren't so scary!" She said without even realizing it. This might have been a mistake, but she wasn't going to stay long enough to find out as she began to run towards the ship. She noticed a few other people on the ship. One of them she seemed to recognise a little. Was it someone from the island? Was she trying to stow away? She didn't really care too much as she began to board the ship.

The Jackal turned growling at Tiffany. “She is not a follower of Dreaous… and you may go down stairs sister of the Dark one… you have passed your courage test… be careful… Vargus tests you in unseen ways…” He bounded towards Tiffany his fangs and claws bared

Scarlet's small smirk transformed into a decidedly more feral grin as the man guessed what she was getting at. This might be a better idea than she had anticipated. "Believe me," she replied, "I know a thing or two about survival. And you hit it on the nose with number two." She set her now-empty tankard on the bar and stood smoothly, turning a chair at the man's table backwards and straddling it before lowering her voice a bit. "I'm guessing you heard those two old gossips just now? What would you say to finding the Captain of this White Saint and starting there?"

She stood again, trusting that he would follow if his words meant anything. Turning and looking over her shoulder, she remembered something, one of those troublesome details of working with people. "They call me Scarlet Kate," she said in an almost-bored tone. "Either works, really. With whom do I seek my fortune?"

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Sounds good to me. And, sorry about that, Raven.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Hmm... timeskip to the actual treasure hunt?

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Insane…. Night is on the ground bleeding… she’s an assassin.

Morgana is a sorceress and is the one speaking to Jonas you seem to mix them up quite often.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Hmm... Perhaps the crew should focus on the cannon and Jonah or Oran can lead some reinforcements up the beach?

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

White elves are mortal enemies of the Black elves, and as such they have limited abilities of illusion detection. Also he would have natural magic even if its very limited… though the illusion part I’m not sure if he’d know about as you said he grew up in the Imperial not the Elven lands… so he probably hasn’t experienced it many times and wouldn’t know why their shimmering.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Uhh... okay. Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with this? Raven's right in saying we'll need coordination so....

Also, why exactly would they shimmer for white elves and nobody else?

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Yes Crow has a ‘line of riflemen’ aiming at him while a cannon was just fired into the beach.

Also, as Crow is part White Elf, the riflemen are slightly shimmering.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Okay, just so I'm totally clear on what's happening- Crow (who is currently lowering the lift) has to stop or he will be shot, meanwhile The others down on the beach just got fired at with a cannon, right?

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Well she already left Black Port… I wouldn’t suggest going for the treasure… as I’m quite sure I said it belonged to the Knights of Thorn… now if she decided to help -stop- you guys then that might work… as alone the Knights would waste her rather quick.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Hmm... I haven't quite decided what to do with her at the moment. Any ideas?'

She could be after the treasure herself.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Siegfried... is currently purchasing himself a new ship, I think, but I do not think he will be appearing again for a while. I'd ask almostinsane about Esmella, though, as I do not think they are presently working together.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

I think I might make one or two.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

So... anyone want to play a crewmember or three for the Nightfall? =) They could all be random NPCs or whatever, but it might be cool to have some PCs as well.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Seconding the vote for children. I already have a character idea for that one. =)

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

I'd vote Children, but the Anubian sounds good too.

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

Which Role-Play one would you guys like me to work on next the Anubian or the Children of the Isles?

Re: [OOC] Pirates of Black Port.

There is no such thing as an overboard post in a roleplay like this. :)

Yep. Everyone has done a good job in breathing the characters to life. They're like living beings now. :)

Edit: That was a wonderful post, Machina Ex Deus. I liked the difference in the strengths Scarlet and Siegfried possessed as well as their different values. I also liked how it was Sigfried's very jealousy that proved to be his undoing.
