OOC Notes
Lola found herself darting into an alley to escape the group of men with guns who had been tailing her. She wasn't sure why, but she knew she didn't want to find out. She peeked around the corner. They were on the other side of the street, apparently deciding which way to go. They had what appeared to be rudimentary masks on their faces, a futile attempt to prevent themselves from catching the plague. But the effects were showing up; the facial discolouration, the coughing, and mucus. How glad Lola was that she appeared to be immune, what with this Plague Bearer thing that had showed up.
OOC Notes
She hugged the wall, hoping they would pass by.
OOC Notes
Jonathan was gazing out the window of his small apartment, death was in the air it always was now days. He had realized what human civilization was, a giant safety net he pondered that idea for some time his eyes automatically scanning the street it reminded him of those shanty towns he used to see on TV, except worse and this was one of the better areas. People rarely left at night, fear of street gangs or the plague he supposed. He turned around not bothering to close the window, he hated his apartment there was no Furniture only a dirty mattress with a ragged blanket and a TV for light, he chuckled at that idea people watched TV for entertainment now a vital part in keeping out the dark. He went over to the mattress pushing it close to the wall, so he could lean back his gaze settled on the black screen of the TV. The Government didn't care for our needs anymore, we were cattle to them to be guided and kept alive he didn't mind this environment he didn't like it, but he hated to admit it to himself but here he thrived.
Usually he would have fallen asleep by now but that thought lingered in his head, he didn't know what he had become a freighting prospect for him was he still Human? He wasn't sure How come I survived? Dumb luck he thought and that would have been that had his TV had changed, a man was there sitting on a desk a headline underneath 'What can you do to help your Government' it read as the man shuffled the lights came on, revealing the mans features, he had a prominent wrinkle in his brow his hair was blondish with streaks of gray running through his eyes were greenish with a bluish monotone, it reminded Johnathan of a new reporter this peeked his interest as he focused on the screen. The man announced with a somewhat inspiring voice "What can you do to help your Government?" he paused for a second taking a sip of water "Plague Bearers! People who did not die from the plague are transmitting it to you." He knew that was a lie, propaganda to get the masses afraid "If you discover any of these things! Report them imminently do not take them on as you will die. And hopefully we might be able to form a cur-" That was as far as Johnathan heard, he knew this was coming, he switched the TV off not wanting to hear anymore, he knew the Government would find out and proceed hunting them for a cure. He sighed lightly deciding to be extra careful he propped himself against the wall, scared counting waiting for himself to fall asleep.

They didn't. One of them turned, and pointed toward her, shouting to the others. Lola bolted. She ran down the backstreets, dodging the rubble, garbage, and occasional human corpse. She was a fast runner, but she heard shouts from all around her; they had split up. Thinking fast, she climbed the fire escape on the wall of a nearby apartment building, hoping they'd bypass her. As she crouched there, she shifted. Her jaw and shoulders widened, her eyebrows grew thicker and lower on her face, and her b cups dissapeared. She didn't like this change; it was difficult, and she still couldn't manage more than a second rate job. But, being a man was generally safest on these streets, and that was what mattered now.
OOC Notes
Johnathan concentrated trying to will himself asleep it didn't work in fact it made him more restless, with a hesitant sigh he decided to go into hiding a few residents in his Apartment block knew he was ill for a few days and they might report him, he looked at the door but an irrational surge of paranoia flowed through him and he decided he'd try and climb out of the window. With a hesitant sigh he picks his trench coat up off the floor and begins to descend into the dark streets, he lost his grip several times down but managed to make it with relative little damage. There were plenty of abandoned buildings around here but were often looted or so, he decided to head down the nearest alley way he stepped over the debris looking for a manhole. He felt pain flare in his neck, he turned quickly as he felt some force trying to hold him, he could tell it was a person and pushed himself into the wall full force damaging the wall and making the person on his back fall off, he turned pulling a crudely made knife out of his neck he rubbed it sorely, he knew he would be dead if it wasn't for his condition but then again he wouldn't be in this position. He crouched down looking at the person who mugged him, a boy infected with the plague due to the boils on his neck he was alive dying slowly his breathing ragged he could tell he broke his ribs and maybe a punchered lung.
He thought about it but decided to end the boy's misery he tensed his arms around the unconscious boy's neck and squeezed, almost instantly there was a satisfying crack and he let the boy's lifeless corpse drop down. He bent down examining the boy's possessions a lighter with a M carved on the left side with some gas he put it in his pocket "the only thing useful on the boy he won't be needing it" Johnathan muttered to himself. He stood up looking taking the next junctions of alley ways looking for a suitable place to hide.

Lola swallowed the shriek that rose in her throat. She had just witnessed something more than a common crime. That man had been stabbed in the neck, and he was barely bleeding. But there was a possible explanation to explain all things impossible done by humans these days. Plague Bearer. Lola examined him now, deciding which alley to take, and saw no symptoms of the plague. And what a powerful ability to have! Silently, she crept down the rusting metal rungs. He had chosen his direction, which just so happened to be the direction Lola was now taking. Crouching behind walls and debris, she followed him.
OOC Notes
Johnathan continued walking he knew the perfect place, unaware he was being followed he continued on with his business. He thought about it the sewers were his best option, long abandoned no one went down there dirt, rats afraid of contracting the plague in his eyes it was the perfect hiding place.
He turned one last corner and came across a closed sewer hatch he bent down opening it relatively easy, he peered inwards looking at all the dried dirt "Great" he muttered followed by a hesitant sigh he climbed down. It wasn't as bad as he had thought this section of the sewer seemed to be blocked or something, it was spacious too, and it didn't smell that bad, so that was good. he was rather hungry and decided it was time to open a can of soup in his bag, he pulled out a can and shook it trying to guess its contents, he was useless at this and decided to open it, it wasn't a can of soup as he predicted but peaches he hated with a groan he resigned himself to begin shoveling them down his mouth. He begun to think of what he could add to this place, couple of tables, chairs this he pondered.

Sewers. Despite having grown up in a poor, and admittedly smelly home, (a fact that made her HARDLY a snooty princess), Lola still gritted her teeth. Before entering, Lola made a decision. This man was entering the sewers to avoid people, so he probably wasn't predatory in nature. The best disguise would probably be something unthreatening. It would also reveal if he had a protective nature. She reverted back to female with reletive ease, then opted to try something a bit harder. Concentrating, she began to shrink her bones, to become smaller. Unfortunately, she had not much experience with shifting to child form, and only managed to lose maybe twenty centimetres. She also did not have the time or skill it would take to alter her skin to a more childlike youthfullness. She did not want to lose this guy in the sewers. Fortunately, she found him quite near the entrance, dumping the remnants of a can of something in his mouth. Her stomach growled loudly. She froze, praying he wouldn't hear it.
OOC Notes
After finishing its contents he heard something familiar, someones stomach growling he lurched forward dropping the cans content he was afraid had someone found him? He tensed himself ready to fight, getting up slowly trying to make little noise he scanned the area deciding it wasn't a Government agent he said "I know you're there whoever you are come out and I won't kill you." he thought dumbly about what he had said, what if its a group of guys? "Nah" he thought "I could take' em" he concentrated at the current situation waiting to either hear someone flee or announce themselves.
OOC Notes
Lola put on her best "frightened and helpless voice", finding it wasn't very hard. "Um, hi. I'm, um, Lola." She stepped out into the open, wondering if she should have used a fake name. Oh well, she was a nobody anyways.
OOC Notes
He jumped at her voice not expecting the person to respond, he relaxed when he realized it was a girl it sounded as if she was afraid, he examined the girl with a cool eye she looked 15 or 14 he wasn't good at ages, he wasn't afraid though he cockily thought she couldn't harm him. He looked at her in a somewhat condescending way and spoke softly "You shouldn't be in here, you could catch the plague y'know?" he thought "that was a good touch, scare her off."
OOC Notes
Lola's spirits lifted. He seemed nice. Well, as nice as anybody was nowadays. "But I'm so hungry." Her voice quivered as she spoke, partially to evoke pity and empathy, partly because it was so true. She was desperate for food; she hadn't the nerve to steal. She glanced sideways at his bag, hoping it might contain more food.
OOC Notes
He felt a sting of guilt, "she probably hasn't eaten for a while" he thought the only thing that seemed to unnerve him, is the fact she wasn't afraid of the plague. He glanced directly at the can which seemed to roll away, with a hesitant sigh he rolled the can over to her.
"I'm not aware of its contents but if you want it you're welcome to it, you seem to need it more them me." he thought about how he was going to get food he didn't particularly want to go to a Ration Station for food, it was like turning yourself over to the Police stupid. He knew would have to do some stealing his survival against their survival, they probably have friends to help them anyway he had no one he shook the thoughts out of his head, ready to deal with the current situation at hand.

Lola grinned as she picked it up. She plopped herself down, leaning against a wall. She pulled on the tab, and found it contained some sort of creamy white soup, which turned out to be clam chowder. Between blissful gulps, she found the silence between them unnerving. "How's your neck?" she asked conversationally.
OOC Notes
The question shocked him, the casualness of the question is what made it more unnerving. He imminently came to two conclusions one she was following him, two she's a Government agent here to take him. He examined her again "No, no" He thought "She's a girl for Christ sake! Get it together" he decided to go with the most rational of his options.
"You've been following me?" he spoke a crack in his voice he needed to think of a lie and fast, "I was lucky it missed my main artery it was a flesh wound." He quickly followed up with that line. He looked at her, awaiting her response. This genuinely startled him how could he have not noticed her? He felt stupid he was always so careful. The thought about her being a Government agent surfaced several times but he ignored it thinking it was irrational, and dumb.

OOC Notes
Lola thought about this for a moment. "Oh," she said. It could be true; she knew little about medicine, only the stuff one picks up when one has 5 siblings and no money for doctors, stuff like how to relocate a shoulder, or bandage a bleeding wound with cloth. Knowing the difference between a "flesh wound" and a serious one might be important. "May I see it?"
OOC Notes
He thought for a moment deciding to quickly check his wound quickly a scab had already formed "Damn accelerated healing" he thought. He couldn't think of a suitable lie but he clicked onto something, why is she down here risking her life for the plague? Unless she's a Plague Bearer the chances of meeting one are slim, but he didn't see any breathing apparatus on her.
He decided to counter her with this "Why are you down here, risking your life to the plague?" a smirk had formed on his face "You could of took the food and left, but you stayed here." a bemused grin began to spread, he was certain she was as the new term came a Plague Bearer.

OOC Notes
"Oh, I don't get sick," she said simply. "At least, I haven't yet, and what with that special powers thing, I don't think I will. You're down here yourself, you know."
OOC Notes
His suspicions had been confirmed, "I thought you were a Plague Bearer" He muttered "Do you even know what one is? I'm surprised you haven't noticed didn't you see that TV Broadcast?" The prospect of meeting someone he could discuss this was was rather exciting. He doubted she knew what she had really become.
He had a rough idea, Plague Bearers were physically better on super human levels he was a lot stronger he didn't know on what scale but he could pick up a car, and survived a stab to the neck, he could run faster then most due to the muscles in his legs that was roughly what he knew. He stared at her a wrinkle forming in his brow.

OOC Notes
"Oh, I know what a Plague Bearer is, even though we didn't have a TV. My mom told me. They can't get sick, and they get special powers and stuff. You're one, right?"
OOC Notes
He nods "I suppose I am" he mutters "I know roughly what were, superhuman or something." He thinks back on the TV Broadcast "The Government is looking for us." he sighs, "Since we're immune to the plague they want to experiment on us, test us see what makes us tick. But the worst part is they're offering people rewards for turning us in. We can't trust anyone."
They probably wanted to lock them up to, since we're different kill us, torture us and other gruesome things he tried not to dwindle on that, but it kept popping back into his head it became quite an annoyance to him. He wasn't sure how many of us there were but his instincts told him not many, due to the amount of deaths.

"They want to find a cure, right? So, maybe we should let them test us, so they find it. Where can I find them?"
OOC Notes
"Yeah because the Government is so nice!" he mocked "Look at the state the remainder of humanity is living in" he snapped "Poverty, death all they care about it themselves." this was the truth he knew it, they would butcher them botch dissect them kill them. He shook free of these thoughts and spoke softly this time "They don't care they just wanna save their own skins."
"And if you went they'll probably interrogate you into telling them about others." his paranoia knew no bounds but he was rightly so, his points were valid after all. "Its best just to keep your head down and move along, if humanity is biting the big one there's nothing you can do, just let it happen" his voice was hallow filled with sadness "If we're going to be the remainder of humanity we need everyone, and from what I can tell there isn't a lot of us."

OOC Notes
"Oh, okay. I guess." She frowned, then brightened. "So, what cool stuff can you do?"
OOC Notes
He shrugged nervously "Don't we all have the same abilities?" he questioned "I thought we were all physically stronger y'know enhanced endurance, speed, strength?" A bizarre thought popped into his head of the girl lifting up a car it made him chuckle.
The thought of the girl being stronger then him made it even more humorous, he quickly dismissed the thought however still brooding he checked his shoulder, a faint bruise remained he smiled at the fact. If that man had got him in the head perhaps he would of died, or perhaps not he didn't know how far his endurance extended, he was not willing to try it however.
