"Wow, seems like forever since I've been in this place..." Clay says as he reaches the edge of Cape Town. "It's been, what, almost a year now? Is that right Wrath?" Looking over his shoulder he can see that his Beedrill is too distracted by a large patch of wild flowers to notice him. "Hey, Wrath! Come on, we're going to be late! Professor Pine is counting on us to do some research for him, said he needed to update my pokedex first though."

When the bee pokemon still won't listen, Clay only sighs and takes out a jar of honey he keeps in his messenger bag for just such occasions. As soon as the lid is removed a sweet smell fills the air, and Wrath almost instantly turns and begins to fly after Clay as he makes his way into town.

Cape Town is a small but open place, near the northern edge of the Toppe Region. They aren't right on the coast, but set back from it on a plateu(?), with a large dock a little ways off. The dock is where new trainers usually arrive, seeing as how the large mountain rangs that divides Toppe in half also seperates it from Kanto and Johto, making the whole contenant have a sort of cross dividing it up. There is no pokemon center or mart here, just the laboratory, belonging to Professor Pine, the leading pokemon professor in thie region. He is also the one who gives advise and help to new trainers.

"Professor, I'm here! It's me, Clay." Clay calls out as he enters the lab. "Huh. He doesn't seem to be here...oh, Jack, where did Pine go?"

"Hm? Oh, hello Clay, long time so see." Jack, one of the professors aides says with a smile, "Pine went out towards the docks to pick up a few trainers on their way here. He should be on his way back now though, unless the ship ran late again."

"The ship often does...well, thanks Jack, I'll see if I can head him off somewhere in between, I hate to sit around." Clay says, waving as he heads back outside, then around to the back of the lab, where a path leads down the hillside and to the coast. "Return Wrath, come on out Red!" In a flash of red the Beedrill returns to his pokeball, and then a Tauros is sent out of another. "Come on big fella, we need to catch up to Pine."

With that, Clay gets on his bull pokemon's back and they ride off, hoping to find the professor at the docks. Professor Pine is a short, round, jolly man with a head of white hair that covers his eyes and a long white beard. Instead of a typical lab coat he wears a white safari outfit, and carries a cane. His Parasect, Paris, which has a large white mustache, is always with him.

(Pine will be an NPC we can all control is need be, I figured you guys could be at the docks waiting on him, or with him in his jeep headed back to the lab)

Sky sat on the dock waiting for a proffesor he was supposed to meet up with. " I wonder where he is, Maybe i got here late." Sky thought as his houndoom knudged his arm to pet him. Doom was Skys first pokemon, he was caught in its prevolution, Houndour. While Sky was petting Doom, Houndooms sences kicked in and he started to snarl. Sky had no idea what had comeover him. Doom looked down at the water beneift him, and there it was, a squirtle. Sky had never seen a Squirtle so it was a rare sight for him, even though he wasnt a big fan of water pokemon. Doom then barked as the squirtlemoved a bit. The squirtle was startled and dived under the water." Nice going Doom, You scared him." Sky said with a dissaproving tone.

The Houndoom whimpered as it layed beside its trainer." Its alright, you just gotta take it easy sometimes." He said as he petted Doom. As he awaited the Proffesor, He layed back and began to admire the sky. " Hey doom, that cloud looks like a psyduck." Sky said as he pointed. Doom raised his head and looked into the sky. He snarled again and then ploped his head back onto the dock. " Oh yea, water type." Sky said as he gave little chuckle

Tyler stepped off one of the later boats with a large orange and yellow mouse at his heels. Then he saw a person sitting by the dock waiting. "hey are you here waiting for Proffessor Pine" Tyler asked and he grunted as his Raichu jumped on his shoulder. "Raichu you're starting to get a little big for that" Tyler laughed "I'm Tyler by the way and you are" Tyler asked offering his hand out. Tyler had a knack for reading people and she seemed to be serious but kind of laid back almost nothing like Tyler he was serious alot because he was always looking for a battle he could win. He was serious about training his pokemon and serious about his goal to be the new champion of the elite four here in the Toppe region. Tyler reached into his bag and pulled out a some poke chow and fed some to Raichu.

"Hello there boys!" Professor Pine calls out, walking towards them from the other side of the docks. "Afraid I misheard what ship you'd be on, went to the wrong dock. I'm Professor Pine, the pokemon professor here in the Toppe Region, you can simply call me Pine if you like." The large, old Parasect at his side reaches over and nips his ankle then, wriggling his mustache. "Right, right, sorry...and this is my partner, Paris. He was the first pokemon I ever caught...but that was a long time ago."

Placing both hands on his cane as he holds it before him he looks the two of them over for a moment, trying to learn as much from them as he can without actually asking them anything just yet. The fact that they both have a pokemonn is an obvious sign they are trainers, and that they are both fully evolved says something more about their abilities.

"Well, well. Erm, wait, wasn't there supposed to be three of you hear today? Let me see here..." Reaching into his jacket, Pine takes out notepad and flips through a few pages. "Let me see here...ahah! Yes, there are supposed to be three. Kidd Phoenix, Sky Thomas, and Tyler Kight..."

"Don't be so impatient with them Pine!" A voice calls, moving closer in the distance from Cape Town. "They're in a new region, remember? Don't bother them with so many questions just yet!"

The voice grows louder, and soon a man riding a Tauros can be seen moving towards them. When he is close enough to be clearly seen, Clay raises a hand and waves at Pine and the new arrivals, and a moment later he pats his pokemon on the head between the horns, the signal to slow, then stop. As the large bull pokemon slows down, then finally comes to a stop beside Pine, Clay steps off.

"That's enough Red, return." Clay says, returning the pokemon to its ball.

As soon as Sky was about to respond to the boy, he was interupted by another voice greeting them. He looked over and saw a pokemon, and a man introducing himself as Proffesor pine. Before Sky got to introduce himself, Pine bombarded the two with questions. Sky was slightly confused. A few seconds into the Proffesors rant, He as interrupted by a trainer riding a Tarous. Sky had never actually seen one in real life, He was astonished when it cam to a stoped near to him. " Its gigantic." Sky said. It was mostly because Sky was short.

" Well im Sky Thomas, and this is Doom my first pokemon and only evolved one." He said while standing up. " Nice to meet you both." he said with a grin on hs face. He was trying to be polite, he didnt want to give off a bad impression. Sky was actually pretty nervouse.

"nice to meet you proffessor I'm Tyler Kight and this is my first pokemon Raichu so glad to finally meet you Proffessor birch only had good things to say about you"Tyler said offering his hand to the elderly man "wow was that a tauros" Tyler asked Clay "I've seen themin battles but I can never find one wild and I have traveled all over" Tyler continued he tended to babble when he was nervous

"Ah, Sky, Tyler, nice to meet the both of you." Pine says, shaking the offered hand. "I'm glad to hear my standing in the Hoenn Region is still good as well. Now then, I am very sorry to have kept you waiting by driving to the wrong docks, but now that I have it seems I'm nearly running late. If you will follow me, we'll head back to the jeep and I'll give you a ride back to my lab. From there Clay here will help you two along. I'll have one of my aides come to pick up Kidd later."

"That's me by the way, nice to meet the both of you." Clay says finally with a laugh. "And yeah, that was my Tauros, Red. I caught him when I was still just a kid back in Kanto. They aren't so rare out here though, so he's really nothing special."

With that they start to follow the professor to his jeep, which ends up taking about ten minutes. All the while Pine keep muttering to himself about being late with someone for something, though none of it seems to make any sense. While they're moving, Wrath pops out of his pokeball and begins to buxx around the two new trainers, prodding them with his stingers, just not actually stinging them. Eventually they make it to the jeep and start off towards the lab. Along the way, the professor points out several sights, such as a herd of Tauros and Miltank off to oneside, or a flock of Murkrow fly over head.

"Even the starer pokemon that professors Oak and Elm give to new trainers are common here, well, in some places. I'm sure you'll encounter some of them during your journy here." Pine says as they step out of the jeep next to the lab. "Now, follow me inside, I have something for you two."

Tyle walked inside excited he loved seeing new places as much as he loved battling and finding new pokemon "so proffessor what exactly do you have for us" Tyler asked with a curious look on his face. He looked around and heard the computers whirring and aides busy at work.

As they headed to the lab, Sky felt something jab him in his arm. It wasnt enoiugh to hurt him just to get his attention. He looked over to find a beedrill." Well you friendly." Sky said in a somewhat sarcastic i tone. As they enterd the lab the proffesor mentioned something he had for the two of them. " I wonder what." Sky thought as doom trailed next to him. A stick in the back of Skys leg got his attention. It was one of Dooms horns poking him accidently." Watch it." he said as rubed the back of his leg where he was poked. Sky entered the lab, while admirring all the cool stuff that was inside.

Kidd bashed the cushion car seat. "Can't this jalopy go any faster!" Kidd snapped, desiring to be at the labatory. Jack just sighed quietly, wishing to be somewhere else this instant. He murmered some cursed words. Kidd crossed his arms angrily. He witnessed the scenery outside of the vehicle. He blinked his eyes by the rushing wind. Crow seemed to like it as he hanged his tongue out.

Kidd began growing weary of this trip. Kidd moaned with his eyes rolling. "Are we there yet?" Jack twitched while gripping the wheel. His nails digged deap into the leather. Kidd was too bored to notice. Jack gritted his teeth, and replied with a yell.

"We're here! You've been whining and complaing throughout this whole trip!" Jack parked his jeep immediately and lowered his volume. "Just go ahead and meet the other trainers." Kidd widened his eyes by the sudden shriek. Kidd quickly grabbed Crow and his backpack. He left the vehicle and began stepping away from the jeep.

"Okay, okay. You don't have to yell. Sheesh, take a chill pill!" Kidd hurriedly walked toward the poke'mon lab. He couldn't stand the sight of Jack biting the steering wheel. Kidd stood before the door. He nervously attempted to open the door though had a sudden flash of insight. "Hey, Crow. It'll probably be a little weird going in late. I say we atleast we make our presentation a little good." Crow nodded excitedly.

The door slammed open revealing a wall of fire. A shaded figure popped out of the wall of fire in a calm fashion. Kidd raised his arms up high. "What's up fellas? Sexy's back!" The wall of fire later receded by General. General walked over toward Kidd while carrying Crow.

Tyler looked up at the new guy who entered and gave him a strange look but brushed it aside as he approached him. "hey I'm Tyler and this is Raichu"Tyler said as the Raichu climbed up on his head "really raichu I told you you're getting a little to big to do that" The mouse gave him a funny look but just smiled."glad to see you finally made it we were waiting for you" Tyler said

Kidd frowned at the forward trainer. He retreated and shrieked frantically. "Seriously! No positive feedback about my entrance or a hint of jealousy!" Kidd morphed his frantic emotion to a depressing manner. Kidd hanged his head and introduced himself. "My name is Kidd." Kidd sighed. Crow and General nudged his legs. "And these are my poke'mon Crow and General."

"well to be honest the entrance was a bit overkil but it was still kinda cool anyways you're abra is really cool and so is you're arcanine was it hard to raise it" tyler asked

(Sorry, but Jack can you please give a little more effort in your writing? It doesn't give me alot of feedback and it's troubling to read run-on sentences with no grammarization. Thank you.)

"Nope, no use in cheering me up." Kidd whined. He dragged his feet away from . He jerked his head back to Tyler. Kidd replied in a hush tone. "No. It's not really difficult raising something you have so much fun doing." Kidd proceeded to slouch over to the center of the laboratory. He stared up noticing a familar person.

"Professor Pine! How you been doing?" Kidd greeted with open arms. "Remember me old friend!" Professor Pine smiled slightly while nodding his head. Prof. Pine chuckled and scratched his hair nervously. His fingers trembled, but Prof. Pine still had the smile attached.

"Yes, how can I ever forget "THE KIDD" who unleashed my Tauros in town." Professor Pine snickered.

"Uh, yeah. Can't believe you remember that." Kidd pulled his collar frantically.

"And the person that impaled my collegues and I with a hundred bullet seeds from your behaved ECO." Professor Pine guffawed.

"He's gotten better. He only does that to people he loathes... and strangers." Kidd bit his upper lip. General quickly remembered Pine and scurried over toward him. General woofed rapidly, jumping around the professor.

"Oh, this must be General. I remember when he damaged one of our pc's." Professor Pine smirked when petting General.

"Oh, c'mon! There was a Delcatty in the room!"

"Oh, so this is the kid you were always talking about. I didn't know you were actually calling him by name the whole time." Clay says with a laugh, crossing his arms with a smile as he watches the going ons of the others. "Nice entrance by the way...but you set something on fire, I smell smoke..." Reaching into his bag, he pulls out a pokeball and opens it. A moment later a Seadra appears before them, floating in the air just off the ground. "King, could you put out whatever it is that's burning? Thanks buddy."

The Seadra nods silently and moves towards the door, then outside. Jack can be heard yelling about the building being on fire when the doors open, but a few moments later they open once more, and he and King walk back into the room, both dripping wet from a water gun.

"Well, that takes care of that." Clay says, returning King, who simply nods when his pokeball is produced. "That was King. He used to be the protector for a bunch of water pokemon, I think he believes he's a samurai or something...anyway, you had something for them professor?"

"Ah, yes, thank you Clay, for keeping me on track...but I really must be going. Here, you probably know about these better than I do." Pine says, handing him a shiny metal case and hurrying towards the door. "I am afraid I really must be going, but I'll see you around! Ta ta!" And with that, he and Paris make their way outside and to the jeep.

"Huh...maybe he's getting too old for this," Clays says, then to the others, "Don't tell him I said that though, alright? Just between us." Moving over to a table he sets the case down, flips the latches, and the lid pops open to reveal what looks something like a pokedex with a wrist band attached. Taking one of them out, Clay shows the others that it opens up into a small computer, like a laptop that straps to your wrist. "These are what we call Poke'Tops, miniature computers that can do just about everything. In Johto they have something similar, but less hightech."

He hands them out to everyone, then closes the case and reaches into his bag to take out his own. Opening it and pressing a few buttons, rock music begins to play, and when he turns the screen towards them it has a map displayed, along with the weather patterens for the next three days.

Kidd bit his upper lip, witnessing the fire incident he just caused. "I'm pretty sure this is the third time I set this place on fire." Kidd whispered to Crow. Kidd waved bye to Professor Pine. "Man, that is the coolest old man I have ever met!" Kidd shouted.

Kidd grabbed the strange device and observed it closely. He strapped it on his wrist and opened it. He gave out a girlish "Ooh." General whined desiring to examine it too. "Fine, you can look at it." Kidd gived in to the constant whining. He reached his arm across General's face. General sniffed the machine first and then licked the watch. Kidd pulled the watch quickly and waved his finger at General. "Bad dog! You don't lick this...and outlets!" Kidd remember from the previous adventures he endured with General.

General barked happidly at Kidd. He continued to chase his tail in circle. Kidd grasped his forehead. Kidd suddenly widened his eyes. He came to some questions concerning the machine. He raised his hand hoping that Clay would pick him.

Tyler began fiddling with the machine "This thing freaking awesome" Tyler exclaimed "so Proffessor Birch told me there was a gang here almost as bad as Team Rocket what's the deal with them?" Tyler asked. That was one of the main reasons he came here to the Toppe Region besides it being a new area with new gyms and a new elite four and a new champion. He hated knowing there was a gang of people who would do bad things to Pokemon. Then tyler pulled out another pokeball "Tailow why don't you dry everything out with you're gust attack" Tyler said as a flash of light appeared and a small robin like pokemon appeared and begann flapping it's wings drying out all the equipment.

"You must mean Team Circuit," Clay says with distain. "Yeah, I've had a few run-ins with them here and there. For right now it seems they're concentrating around the Trilands, to the west of here, but I wouldn't worry about them, not so soon at least." As he speaks, he watches the small bird pokemon drying everything off, including Jack, who seems to sort of enjoy it. Once it's all dry again he works with his Poke'Top for a bit, then shows them a display of their area. "This is where we are now, the blue dots in Cape Town. We'll head southwest from here, to a little place called Cloverhill. I need to pick something up there."

After giving them a good look at the area he turns his watch off and heads for the doors, Wrath close behind him. Outside it is still bright and sunny, but by the time they reach Cloverhill the sun will have begun to set, although it still won't be that late. Toppe is sort of in a different time zone, where it gets dark earlier than normal, though no one can explain why. Clay has gotten used to it, but it may take the others a little while.

"You guys ready? after our stop in Cloverhill, the next place, Shellville, is where you'll get your first gym battle." Clay says with a big smile as they begin to walk, remembering when he fought the same gym leader his first time.

" Bye Proffesor, nice meeting you." Sky said as he waved good bye to him. When he looked back towards Clay, he realised he was giving something to the other two. A Poke'Top, s what it was. As Sky received one he couldnt help but be overwhelmed." Who thought my adventure would take me this far." Sky said as he smiled. As he followed The other three out the door" Hmm a trip to Cloverhill, a chance to see new pokemon." Sky thought. When Sky looked back he noticed Doom glaring at the newcomers Arcanine. " Behave." Sky said in an angry tone.

Kidd cuffed his eyes when the blinding eyes struck his glasses. He stretched his arms while taking a deep breath. General rushed forward passing everyone lik an energetic pup. Crow lazily dragged his feet against the pavement. Crow unleashed a giant yawn. Kidd smiled detecting a zooming amount of enery getting ready to be released. Kidd shaked a bit, but couldn't fortify it. Kidd pointed his finger toward the direction. "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet's go catch 'em all!"

Clay laughs a little as he looks back at the others, watching their pokemon growl at one another as they move along down the road. Wrath flys over to the two dog pokemon and buzzes at them, staying just out of theit reach.

"Well, you guys look like you're ready. So, do you have any badges yet, or will these be your first?" He asks them curiously as he turns back in the direction they're going. "The good professor never actually told me I'd be looking after you three, so it was kind of a suprise, and he didn't tell me anything about any of you." And it was true, Professor Pine had just called Clay up about a week ago, asking him to return to Cape Town to help with some research. Knowing Pine, he had assumed it simply involved the pokemon he had encountered while faceing Team Circuit.

There was a main road that lead direction from Cape Town to Shelville, but because that wasn't their first stop, Clay turns them off the main road and into a simple dirt and gravel path. It follows along side the road for a ways, but then splits, heading more in a southern direction than the road, and diverging at an ancient looking pine tree where a large number of Pineco live. The tree can already be seen from where they are, and at it's base, where the gnarly roots rise up from the ground, a few other pokemon can be seen, things like Yanma and Oddish.

"I think you guys will fine that here, pokemon of all different types have learned to live together in peace. Alot more so than Kanto and Johto anyway." Clay mentions as the tree draws closer.

"well I only have my badges from the Hoen region" Tyler said watching dust kick up as he walked and Raichu was dashing along at a quick pace trying to keep up with them. His Raichu was rather shy it stayed away from the three other trainers and the other pokemon and stayed close to Tyler. He had started out with his Raichu as a Pikachi but his Pikachu had a very abusive previous owner and Tyler had rescued him from that owner and ever since that day the Pikachu now turned Raichu trusted only Tyler.
