Introduction

"I am not at all who you expect me to be."

Neither are you. Many have heard the expression: "to fight criminals means to think as they do." Unfortunately, that is how your job works, too.

"I am Liza Covet. You may have seen me wander past you in the streets, sit nearby you in a restaurant, run from you in the dead of the night, seemingly in a drunken stupor. I will assure you now that those chance meetings were hardly coincidences."

Everything happens for a reason. Now you just have to convince yourself to help her make sure that everything keeps on happening.

"I am a demon huntress. Malevolent spirits are my game. Silver, iron and salt is the extent of the ammunition I own, my body the weapon with which I fire it. You can call me crazy. Many have and many will. This is the simple truth - the world is in danger. "

Until you can find more and more hunters (you know that there are more out there; you can't be the only one), then you are going to struggle through this war and may die as a result of it.

"I am not asking you to give your life to the cause, nor am I asking you to waste what little bouts of happiness you may already have found for it. I'm just asking for you to give me a chance to find those tiny experiences that make such a dismal, lonely life worth living."

You know how it goes - a hunter never stops moving, never stops searching for a new place to escape to. You're prosecuted more than the monsters we hunt are. You wish that there was a way to explain to all of the important people in your life that what you do means life or death nearly every single day.

"I need your help. Please."

Rarely, they meet, but when a group of hunters such as yourselves does, you just know that something is occurring, and it is never a gay occasion.

This roleplay, as you may have gathered, will be based around a group of demon/hell hunters who may or may not have met in the past. Throughout the duration of this roleplay, they will encounter monsters of varying strength and determination, both individually and as a whole.

Liza Covet, the character mentioned above, is my main character to be used here. She is in her early thirties, and has been hunting demons for nearly twelve years, though she is hardly an expert. This character will be the link between the rest of the hunters (as in they will all meet through her). This is not to say that she will be the main character of the roleplay, simply the character I consider my main focus.

Should you be interested in joining this roleplay (the plot has yet to be decided, and I would much rather decide that with a group of potential RPers in the OOC forum), please take note of the following guidelines and rules:

- This RP will be based around the IC in the Chat Rooms. The IC forum is currently intended on being a place to accumulate news articles, etc, as clues for the various hunters/creatures in the RP.
- Romance is not necessary, but is not banned either. I would rather that the hunters stay IC, however - I do not want to see a hunter and demon/monster fighting through one day and in bed the next, thank you. As always, graphic material must be kept to private conversations out with the site.
- I will not be setting out a profile for you to fill out. I do not want to limit you to what you can write for the profile. All that I ask is that there is some general information and a background (it does not require paragraphs and paragraphs).
- I ask that the following character 'races' are used:
- human => Either hunters, those connected to the hunters or any NPC bystanders, etc.
- demon => Please do not limit yourself to 'demon' as in the 'devilishly handsome creature you will as soon rip your heart out as he will seduce it.' Other 'malevolent' characters, such as wraiths, reapers, harpies, anything else potentially dangerous will be accepted under the heading of 'demon'. It is an umbrella term.
- angel => Like demons, angels will not fall under the stereotypical 'heavenly beauty with wings and healing powers, who wishes no harm on others and would rather die than kick a puppy.' Angels do not necessarily need wings/powers, as such, but some form of ability unique to the angel would be pleasant.

To add more to the characters as a whole, none of the 'races' need to be limited to their expected loyalties. Hunters do not have to like other hunters, not all demons will be in league with one another and angels are just as likely to kill hunters out of fear of threat than they are to help them.

Your profile, as standard, should be composed of various details about your character, a realistic picture and a back story. Most everything else is up to you as to what to include, as due to the chat-based nature of the roleplay, I expect a lot of information to be passed around in a short space of time.

Literacy is a must. Text-speak is banned. I do not care if you are incapable of writing in excess of fifty words, or if you can write one thousand. The quality and result of your writing is more important to me than how much of it you can put out (no pun intended).

Finally, this roleplay will begin in England and branch out into other parts of the world. That is not to say that a character has to come from/spawn in England, but that is where our group will first meet (if at all).

Any questions may be directed to me in a PM or in the OOC forum message. I work on British time (GMT), so make sure to take this into account, as most of the roleplay will take place when two or more people are online at the same time, although arrangements could be made to plan one appointment (or more) a week where a majority of the group is available.

I personally will not be adding my character to the roleplay until I have had a chance to discuss it with any potential RPers.

Thank you for your interest. I reserve the right to decline any characters as I see fit, but I will provide information as to why, of course.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Well I'm still in.

As for the chat discussion, just let me know when. And as I said earlier, a PM reminder would be nice, but I am perfectly capable of remembering dates and times.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

I really hope this hasn't died.It had so much potential, and I would hate to see it all crumble.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Right! After a pretty long absence from this thread, I think it's about time I got my act together and we decided on a day for some of us to get together in the chat with our characters. I think there we can decide, in real time, what the characters will be facing rather than trying to discuss it over forums where some of us may be absent from the conversation.

Thanks, and I apologise for the absence,

Lain

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Hmm, I will try...

A PM reminder would be nice.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Wondering if we'll be able to start tonight at some point? Just as a meeting of sorts between all of the hunters/angels in allegiance with the hunters.

As far as I am aware, CHain_Way's character and my own are the two pulling this meeting together. We can always works things out at the time if possible.

It's currently 18:47 GMT, so if anyone thinks they WON'T be online within the next four hours for some decent amount of time, let me know.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Well dear, you are quite aware of the fact that you always had a special chamber reserved for yourself in my pitch-black heart, and thus, through a logical deduction, you should have assumed I would be offering my writing talent to your tale as soon as I actually had the time to haunt these boards once more.

Regarding the ideas:

A - I am unaware of the exact mechanisms you have set in place for this Roleplay, yet I shall assume that one cannot become a Devil Hunter unless receiving a type of upbringing in this sector (unless we are speaking o Angels and/or Half-Angels). If my assumption was correct, then as a plot starter, you could create an Alpha Devil Hunter (a person which had contact with all, if not at least most of us, and participated in our schooling as warriors) and have him call out to his apprentices for aid due to some unknown peril. We, as loyal disciples, will of course make haste in order to assist him, only to find that he was corrupted by tainted magics and was summoning his apostles only to corrupt their own souls in order to gather himself an army and spread the usual chaos and disaster. This could also be our first large-scale encounter.

B - Yet again, I am unaware if for example the Church has any role at all in your role-play, if it does not, disregard the following paragraph. You could for example have the high-clergy exile all Devil Hunters of Human and other nature, excepting Angels, from their ranks, due to unknown motives (you could for example state that the Catholic church no longer considers that anyone else, disregarding God's missionaries, can perfectly fulfill the role). When receiving such news, an uprising will of course take place and our group of merry men will march to the Popes gates to contest the newly-given law, only to find that the high-council together with the Pope himself had been assassinated. When trying to leave the Cathedral (or where ever you would wish for the Pope to live), we would of course encounter the band of selfish little demons which killed them and have our first spar (Devil Hunters skirmishing with underworld creatures in a Church, now that is a fun image).

C - You could have the Devils steal our cookies, and in an unseen thirst for revenge we shall knock on Satans door and ask for our cookies back, after which beat his face in.

These ideas are slightly rough and unpolished, but you can expand on them and change anything you see fit if they tempt you from any angle.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Hmm...

Mon-Fri 6:00-8:00 PM (that is your time by the way) Any times after that, will depend on my day-to-day situation.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

The weekends and Friday are goods days for me.As well as every other day of the week but Friday and Sunday are the days I'll be most reliably on.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Say what, Frozen_Soul? Throw those ideas! Throw them now!

Thanks terribly for joining and giving us this information. As you should already be aware, you character has been accepted.

People, start telling me which days of the following week are good for you, and we'll go for a majority.

Personally, every day past 5 PM UK Standard Time is good for me.

Lain-Angelelique

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Salutations my little minions. Cloasse, i'm going to keep this short and sweet - My timezone is UK + 2, I finish classes at around 12-1 PM your time, and can mostly be online every single day from around 5-6 UK time, depending on the exact day. Regarding the means of starting this RP, I fully trust you and thus I shan't be throwing any ideas around.

Cheers !

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

LuciousTurtle88: I have received no correspondence from you on this account's PM, nor in my personal email. Your character will be rejected and you will receive a detailed list of reasons as to why your character has been rejected as soon as I have completed it.

Xiphoniii: Your character will be accepted, but only if you can give me a reason as to why he would be present in this RP in the first place. Your character sheet states:

"a dangerous enterprise as a demon who loses his life when not bonded to a human doesn't return to below but blinks out of existence. Still the time has come to act and if he will have no partner in it then work alone he must."

I take this to mean that your character alone will lose existence if he is not bonded to a human when his physical manifestation is destroyed, because this is a very certain statement to make in regards to all of the demons who may be in the RP and it would be unfair to assume that your idea of demons should apply to others' characters.

As previously mentioned, I need to know why he is involved in this RP - is he seeking some form of revenge? Does he plan on aiding other demons, the hunters, or the angels? This does not need to be set in stone, but I am confused as to why he would be involved here.

Thank you

Lain-Ange

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

you never responded back to my email and i just got home. I work a lot so let me know what needs to be changed?

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

I'm in South Florida(not sure what time zone that is), and can get on between roughly 7:50 and 9:00 if I get accepted. Other than that, absolutely sporadic.

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

I am on GMT US and I can get on any time after 3:30 but expect sporadic posting as I tend to have several projects (My school LOVES giving us at home projects) to do and I could get caught up in researching some obscure 13th century artist's girlfriend's brother's inventor cousin and may only remember to post a few minutes later (I'll constantly check in on the chat to minimize this though).

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

LuciousTurtle88:

I'm sorry, but I will be rejecting your character for reasons which will be outlined in the message you should receive as soon as I have finished typing it.

If you wish to find out about your character's problems prior to my rejection so that you may make the required changes, then please PM me or ask me in this OOC topic.

I will be rejecting your character tomorrow (Wednesday, 5 May 2010) if you do not request some advice on changing your character to suit the RP.

Lain

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

I just posted my character, if anything needs to be changed let me know!

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

im interested i just saw no character sheets so I will just have post what I can

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

As I said, I'm on GMT time. However, I started my exam period today, so my study leave starts a week today (04/05/2010).

Usually I will be on from five to midnight GMT, although these times will change in accordance with examinations.

Weekends are okay for me, I suppose, for perhaps one on one chats that need to be done or groups of us that are available.

At the moment: 5PM-12AM Mon-Fri, 12PM-2AM Sat-Sun.

During Study Leave: 12PM-12AM Mon-Fri, 12PM-2AM Sat-Sun

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

I am on EST/-5 GMT.

And I am always online during the morning 8-3.

Any other times than that can get pretty random. Especially with work.

Weekends are almost a no show for me. I am online, but I am usually doing GM work or working on post. Though if I am not busy, then I can schedule in something.

So right now I have Mon-Fri 8-3

Re: [OOC] Rarely, They Meet

Okay, my darlings, we've one terribly important thing to do before we can start:

Decide how we're starting.

I think we had agreed on the group meeting to begin with before we started to focus on relationships between each individual, and as such we'll need a time when we will all be online to do so.

I know that Parabola, CHain_Way and myself are all on GMT/UK Time. As soon as we know when it would be appropriate to start, we're all for it.

Parabola and myself both have end of year exams coming up, and I know that CHain_Way can get busy with work, but there should be some point when we can all make sure we're free.

Thanks,

Lain-Ange
