I march to the beat of my inner-drummer. Go get your own.
Full Name: Micah Nho (Korean name: Nho Min-Kyung)
Alias: He'll respond to anything really, but most people just use his name.
Age: 19. Birthday: October 21
Hometown: Seoul, Korea
Talent: Micah is a drummer. He likes to think it makes up for his quietness but it's also a great stress reliever. He first started playing when his family moved to America 6 years ago and hasn't stopped since. He has a natural talent for drumming and can pick up new songs surprisingly fast, although not instantaneously.
Clothing: Clothes were never a big deal for Micah since his parents never bought him any fancy stuff. Normally he wears a plain solid color fitted tee with straight leg jeans. When it's hot he'll opt for a wife-beater, but never shorts unless he's swimming. For formal wear he goes with a white button-up shirt, slacks, and dress shoes, but he's never owned a tie and doesn't see the need to buy one now.
Physical Appearance: Micah is Korean so he has the Asian eyes and dark hair (it's actually really dark brown but you can only tell when it's in the sun, otherwise it looks black). He is exactly 6'0 tall and is thin but not super thin. His unusual eye color is gray that turns darker when he's upset. As far as fitness goes he used to be toned in high school but has stopped working out so he's gotten kinda soft (literally). Drumming is a pretty good workout though so his arms are well defined even if the rest of him is not.
Intelligence: He is a bit of a math wiz, but he'll never tell you that
Education: He graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA but has taken a year off instead of college
Occupation: He recently worked at his uncle's pet shop doing everything from taking care of the animals, doing inventory, and restocking the shelves. Too bad he hates animals though, the neighborhood girls thought it was adorable.
Crush: We shall see... ;]
Casual: Micah is is more of an observer than anything else. He doesn't like to talk a lot and it's rare for anyone to get him to open up (in fact he doesn't remember someone ever being able to do that). Not that he hates people or anything, and he does give his two cents into conversations, he's just not what you might call a conversationalist. He does like to try new things and will take on almost any dare as long as it doesn't humiliate him. He is also willing to help anyone out as much as he can, provided he has respect for you. If he doesn't then he has no problem being mean if he wants to be. That's only if he thinks you suck at life though.
Under pressure: When under stress Micah has a bad habit of clenching his teeth, often resulting in headaches later on. He also tends to feel rushed when under pressure so he often fumbles and does things wrong, which means he has to go back and redo it correctly so it takes him longer to get things done if he doesn't consciously slow himself down.
Drunk: He's never taken a drink in his life since he's seen what it can do to you when you can't control your cravings.
[0-2]
Born on a clear Friday night in Seoul, South Korea, Min-Kyung had two loving, if overbearing, parents. His father worked at a local construction company to provide the family with everything they needed while his mom stayed home to take care of him and his 10 years older brother Jun-Su. He was a surprise to his parents, but he was a happy baby who was loved by everyone who met him. He was running at age 1 and speaking fairly well at age 2.
[3-5]
Min-Kyung grew, as little boys do, and was always trailing his older brother like a little duckling. Sad to say, but their father was out of the house so much from work that the boy looked up to Jun-Su more than their dad simply because he was always there. The brothers had a close bond despite the age difference and you would rarely see one without the other, except for in school. Min-Kyung began schooling at age 5.
[6-8]
As school started Min-Kyung found himself having a harder time getting along with his schoolmates than his parents thought was normal. Worse than that though, was that Jun-Su was becoming more distant from the family. He had gotten himself involved with bad influences and because of that was prone to fighting with his parents and pushing away his little brother when he wanted to play or even help with the situation. Eventually the only thing that the 17 year-old wanted to do with family was have a place to crash when he came home drunk at 3am. Min-Kyung found that it was best to just stay quiet during these occurrences and simply clean up the mess of whatever had broken during a bad fight. Unfortunately that also transferred to his social life, but he maintained good grades in spite of it.
[9-11]
Middle school didn't fare any better for Min-Kyung. He just didn't fit in with the others and kids tend to gang up on outcasts, so they often made fun of his eyes and his quietness. He couldn't even look to his big brother for help since he had become an alcoholic by age 20. At home his parents were so concerned with Jun-Su's behavior that Min-Kyung often went by unnoticed. He was setting his own bedtime and making sure his own homework was done by himself at age 10. This went on until age 11 when Jun-Su finally decided to move out, leaving behind a brokenhearted mother, and angry father, and an abandoned brother.
[12-14]
Min-Kyung continued to have excellent grades in school even with his troubles. After his brother moved out his parents saw the potential he had and decided it would be best for everyone if they all got a fresh start in America. At age 13 the family moved to his mom's brother's hometown in Ashland, New Jersey where he was given the American name "Micah". With the new name came a new confidence that here he could be whoever he wanted to be. Of course he didn't become a social butterfly, in fact he preferred to watch people so he could gauge how they were and whether or not they would hurt him if they got close to him. But at least he didn't get picked on by his classmates. It was around this time that on his walk home from school he came across an abandoned drum set behind an old music store that had gone out of business. The set was dirty and beat up but still playable. He decided to try to play one of his favorite songs on it just for the heck of it. Surprisingly he wasn't that bad. He was no prodigy, but there was definitely talent there. That year he joined the school band alongside his academics. There he was able to make a few friends, keeping them at arm's length, and hone his skill in music.
[15-17]
Micah's parents were pressuring him to become something like a doctor or a lawyer. They claimed it was because he was so smart and they wanted a good life for him, but he knew it was really because they were trying to make sure he didn't end up like his brother. While he didn't outright rebel against them, he knew he didn't want to be something stiff and boring like that. If anything he could see himself hiring himself out as a drummer to different bands that wanted him. He kept this a secret from his parents though, instead getting a job a his uncle's pet shop. There he was able to put his math skills into use, but he also discovered his hatred of animals, which probably stemmed from his having to clean up their poop every day.
[18-now]
After graduating at the top of his class, Micah opted to take a year off from school instead of college. Of course, he decided not to tell his parents that this wouldn't a temporary thing. He can constantly be found making up new beats with his fingers to try out on his drums later (he bought a new set with the money he saved from the pet shop). Micah never did end up getting a girlfriend only because he never liked anyone enough to let them get that close to him. Since he has recently quit his job and is, obviously, single he now has nothing holding him back from pursuing his dream of being a professional drummer.
