Abilities
Like all selkies she transforms into a seal, though unuusualy enough while most Selkies in seal form are the average shades of grey, her form is white. Though that may be since she began changing form at a young age. She also has great seductive powers. Hers are a bit more potent. And though people who are generally around her adjust to it it never settles. When sshe gets over excited or too flirty it becomes more powerful and due to her lack of discipline toward it she can't really control it. Of course she's a amazing swimmer. But compared to her fellow Selkies she's not a very fast swimmer.

In reality flirting for her is like having a conversation for everybody else. She does it so naturally that she hardly notices anymore.

But she's selfish and can be a serious brat. She likes things to go her way. Though she often hides her bratty side. She makes dicisions on whims. She never thinks things through she just acts on whatever she wants to do. She doesn't worry about consequences or the reaction she may get from it.

Biography
Belinda was always very ... unique. In most cases the middle child is usually the most controlled or the ones who are the most ignored. Neither was true in her case. She shed her seal skin earlier than her older sister so she was around humans at a young age. She loved her freedom. She loves humans, she loved dancing, she loved all of it. Unfortunatly her enthusiasm was often scolded by her parents. Not that she obeyed, she was always wild.

Growing up Belinda hated the limitations of being stuck in the selkie community. She loved the water deeply, but she had a yearning to explore. She developed a reputation for being untamable. She had the same reputation for men. Belinda loves love. The idea of it, the mystery, the romance. She loves all of it. So much in fact that she's been in love four times, and she's "died of heartbreak" two times.

But if she's completely honest with herself she's only truly been in love once. His name was Sky, he was twenty seven and she was eighteen. He told her that he was a marine Biologist. Belinda loved him so much it hurt. He was also the one who broke her heart. She would do anything for him and he knew that and he abused that. He only wanted Belinda because he thought her skin would make his wife fertile so they could produce a child.

After that Belinda distanced herself from most people. She kept her sweet demeanor but she didn't trust people. Since then she has had trouble tusting anybody except the Selkies.

{ June 21st | 6:00pm | Teraton, North Carolina }

The Summer Solstice Festival has been a staple of the Teraton community far before it became set aside for the relocation process of the supernatural community in the area. Once simply referred to as the Summer Fair, it has now come to be called by a more appropriate name. It is most greatly celebrated by the witch community of the somewhat small town, and many run stalls or have special sales for the event. Lights are strung across buildings and trees to create a magical, picturesque atmosphere. The festival is something that most look forward to, and while it is not incredibly large, it is a dear part of the community.

It serves as many things. For the witch community, it is expected that young witches, coming of age, begin to create some product, or develop some skill for a service, which they will demonstrate here. The faerie community is also known to take special joy in the event, especially the summer fae, as a matter of course given that it is a summer holiday. Many people also take it as a romantic event, and the music [different bands or DJs on various corners] as well as the lights help this concept along. It also happens to line up to be just after the schools get out, so clusters of high schoolers, middle schoolers, and elementary schoolers can often be seen in various places.

Attractions of Note
Ferris Wheel [Provided By The City Council]
The Magical Lane [All-magic Corner of Witch's Wares]
Local Bands [The best of which playing on a platform in Town Square]

Mel had signed up to work the latest shift at Teraton's only decent night club, where she is employed as a bartender, because she's grown up going to every single Summer Solstice Festival since she could exchange a tail for legs, and doesn't intend to break that favorite tradition now. It's less of an issue with nostalgia and more a case of loving the experience of it all. The bands, the people, the shops- everything is right up her alley, as far as a festival goes. If only there were more dancing. Then again, there is dancing, depending on the band playing, or in the nightclub. She's certain to stop by there before her shift begins. Mel smells faintly of sea breeze, as she always does, and her hair is still damp from having just showered away the salt and sweat of spending the daylight hours surfing and playing basketball, two of her favorite pastimes. Luckily, it doesn't matter if her hair is wet, because the weather is warm, summer definitely taking over where spring had once reigned. She loves it.

I want to go on the ferris wheel, the selkie woman muses, craning her neck backwards slightly to look at it. Honestly, it isn't particularly large, or else it wouldn't have been able to fit in the park that is a center piece to the town, but it does look fun- perhaps a bit slow, though.

Being an ultimately social creature, the woman decides to first find other people to hang out with before doing anything else. She remains on the look out for the usual suspects: Belinda, Jae, CJ, Skye, or Derrick. Anyone will do, really, which is often the general opinion of Mel, who has very few, if any, deep bonds with her fellow townspeople- even the ones she's known since youth. I'll check out the magic shops- Jae or CJ are bound to be around, Mel decides, making her way outside the shadow of the ferris wheel. She passes by the musical stage, where a band which is slightly more folksy than she likes is playing a song that sounds almost celtic. The band is comprised of exclusively Fae.

"You haven't seen Jae or CJ around, have you?" Mel stops and asks an older looking witch, who sells medicinal herbs and healing enchantments. The response is brief and vague, completely unhelpful. In the end, she is forced to resort to texting people, despite generally preferring to just arrive places without notice. Mel isn't one for planning- or, therefore, punctuality.

To: CJ, Belinda, Jae, Derrick, Skye, Chris
Anyone else looking for company?

Mel decides that if she's going to just allow herself to happen upon people, or wait for responses, she might as well do so while listening to music. So she wanders until happening upon something more her stile- a corner with a DJ playing dance music, and several people dancing around to it, and joins in with the movement. It's her natural habitat, after all.

Jem's family is well known for their potions, and thus it is only natural that he be helping out at the family potion stand, where the Whelks are selling panaceas, liquid happiness [without the side effects of most drugs], bottled luck [selling out quickly for some of those carnival-style games], and other such things. Several of the concoctions were brewed by Jem himself, as he is quickly gaining on his parents as far as inventing new sorts of potions go, despite his lack of experience and crystallized knowledge to rival theirs. He can here bands playing in the distance, and a dimpled smile reveals itself every time a customers tops by to purchase something- especially when it is one of his own creations. Typically somewhat insecure, his potions are one thing that Jem is able to put a vote of confidence in with.

He wonders where CJ is, but supposes that the other male witch, and his closest friend since grade school, is working at the Shantley family restaurant. Jae, both a friend and someone for him to occasionally avoid, will probably be found there as well, unless she's selling her own services or wares. Jem doubts that she is, actually. Curses are the girl's specialty, after all, but they were banned from being sold, unless fitting within specific guidelines, by the city council a few years ago after a very, very nasty incident. If one thinks that bullying is bad in human schools, they would shudder to see how far it can go in a school composed of adolescents with supernatural abilities and still forming senses of reasoning and restraint.

"You can go and look for your friends now, Jem. We're all set here," Mathilde, Jem's mother and the person he inherited his distinctive dimples and blonde curls from, tells him with a smile. Her voice is somewhat soft, but holds a certain power to it that leaves no room for doubt that she is incredibly competent in what she does. She is a well-respected woman in the town for a reason, after all.

"Thanks mum," Jem responds with a dimpled smile. "I think I'll go see if CJ's at the restaurant."

He takes off the apron-esque cloth he had been wearing [to avoid spilling potions on himself], and places it down on a chair neatly folded before heading off into the crowd. He walks quickly, not liking to be alone in a large group of people like this for too long. It makes him feel impossibly lost and miniscule, despite being slightly above average in height, and knowing the layout of the town like the back of his hand.

The walk to the Shantley family restaurant is brief. Jem pops his head in and sees Alexander, CJ's brother, walking by. "Is CJ around?"

{ 3:00 pm}

"Five, six, seven, eight" Belinda counted, making the teen girls around her being performing a synchronized dance. She tried to focus on them but try as she might she couldn't stop watching the clock. Her class would end in fifteen minuets allowing her to run home and get dressed for the festival. She bit her lip anxiously. "Ah Miss Belinda" Mariana Royce, a little fairy teen called. Mariana bit her fruit punch colored lips. " Yes Mariana? Mariana looked around before saying "Um can we leave a little early so we can get ready for the festival?". Belinda beamed before happily releasing them from class. She hopped in her car and quickly drove to her own cottage on the beach. She quickly took a shower and washed her hair before running to her closet. she slipped on a cute little outfit consisting of a light coral crop top and high waisted short shorts which she paired with a soft sweated and platfom 6' booties. On most girls that would look overly sexy but with her baby like features Pin up make up and long hair that hung all the way to her butt, she just looked adoable in the hottest way possibe. She also just barely reached 5'6 in her booties. She slipped out her house and grabbed her bicycle. Once she securely placed her booties in the basket hanging on the front she rode to Derricks house.
{6:00 pm}

Belinda finally rode to Derricks house. She paused at the door to text him when she felt it buzz. She smiled when she saw it was a text from Mel. She glanced at the screen before carefully typing a message, which was a little annoying since she had acrylic french manicured nails.
To: Mel
Message: Hey babes I'm hitting up Derrick for a ride, look for the super long ombre hair, super tight top, super short shorts, and super high booties

To:Derrick
Message: I'm coming in your house. I have my key. If you have a girl in there hide her now.

She took her key chain out her purse and pulled out her bedazzled key to her house with a D engaved on the back. She pushed his door open "Hey : Derrick where are you?" She called. She didn't search for him though. She walked into his kitchen, though she knew he probaly had nothing healthy or perishable in there. She ended up justb pouring a glass of water and sitting in his living room. She plugged her white eaphones in her ears as she waited to show. She hoped he was home. She opened up a text again to pass the time.
To: Ciarran
Message: Hey, I better see you at the festival.

To: CJ
Message: Hey think you'll win me a teddy bear tonight?

Lost in his own thoughts Ciaran deftly navigated the rocky patch of beach he’d spent the warm, sunny day at. Hopping nimbly from rock to rock he was careful to avoid wet patches and made his way back to the belongings he’d left behind earlier. In his haste to get to the water he’d left his clothes crumpled and his boots flung about. Taking a moment to rest the thin, lanky boy tossed himself to the sandy ground to dry out a bit and reached into the pockets of his jeans to retrieve his phone.

Unsurprisingly Cerry had lost track of time and grinned widely to himself as he thumbed through the messages he’d received while he’d been swimming. Ciaran had meant to spend his day clamming and having decided that the timing wasn’t right instead wasted his day away in the water. In that time he’d heard from Belinda.

To: Ciarran
Message: Hey, I better see you at the festival.

With a light laugh to himself, he shook his head, his damp curls dripping water onto his quickly drying shoulders. There was no other place he’d rather be today. His people were nothing if not festive and for someone who was as much of a busybody as Ciaran to miss the social event of the summer just wouldn’t be heard of. He quickly responded back to her, a lopsided grin overpowering his face.

To:Belinda
Message: It wouldn’t be much of a festival if I wasn’t there, now would it? Keep an eye out.

Quickly he flipped down to see that Rafia had also tried to get in touch with him. At the mere sight of her name his heart noticeably quickened pace. The young faerie was extremely attracted to the demon and spent a majority of his time with her, at least when she allowed it. It seemed as if tonight would be one of those times.

From: Rafia
To: Ciaran

Yo babes, you better be comin' to the festival.
Heard there's goin' to be a lot of interesting people. (;

It seemed like he was well in demand this evening, a fact he was quite pleased with. With a practiced, lazy skill he quickly texted Rafia.

To:Rafia
Message: None quite as interesting as yourself. Trust me, I know. I’ll find you, don’t worry.

Rising to his feet Ciaran quickly and efficiently brushed the sand from his legs and slipped into his jeans. Throwing on his shirt he left it unbuttoned as he pulled on his boots. Grabbing the rest of his gear, the young man took a look around and realized that he’d trekked much further than he thought to reach his current destination. With a quick look to the slowly darkening sky, Ciaran sighed and began to the journey back to his truck

Cerry had finally made it back to the place where he’d began and was glad of it. It was dark now and he still had to head home and shower before he could make the festival. It wouldn’t do to show up smelling like fish. It wasn’t quite the mystique he was going for. Head down, his bright green eyes focused on the impressions his boots made in the sand Ciaran almost didn’t notice the boy in the darkness. Stopping in his tracks, he froze as if he’s just caught sight of a wild animal. Knowing that if he made any sudden movies the boy could very well bolt away. To where, Ciaran didn’t know. All he did know was that the boy was stark naked and seemed out of it. Slowly putting his bit of gear down, he held his hands open, his palms facing the sky. Ciaran was still a good distance from the boy and did his best to seem non-threatening.

“Hey there, friend.” Ciaran called, his voice warm and comforting. “Are you okay, do you need anything? Like clothes, perhaps?" The inquisitive faerie asked, unable to suppress his curiosity about the stranger on the beach.

Derrick Grinnell

The whole town felt lifted on air with the buzz of the Summer Solstice. Derrick preferred to stay inside until later in the evening, when the parties were starting up or he was preparing his own. Several bottles stood tall in the refrigerator at the moment, but he would be locking up his house for the night this time around. His whitewashed home was intensely close to the fairgrounds and he suffered a headache each and every year. Good vibes were not Derrick's forte. Alas, though, his phone buzzed along the deep oak wood of his night stand. He regrettably awoke and rolled over to open the message.

To: Mel
always. i'll make my way over there soon.

He sent the message and covered his face with the blanket again. Five more minutes never hurt anyone. His mind was just beginning to drift off when his phone went off again, this time from Belinda. He read the message and then paused to stretch his long body out along his bed. Mid-stretch, he froze as the text actually sank into his mind. He looked to the side of his queen-sized bed only to find it empty. All of the Redbull and vodka had left last night's memory a hazy blur. Surely he would have remembered bringing someone home though.

Belinda's lovely voice rang through the walls of his rather small home. Through his stretch he hadn't heard the door unlock. "I'm in here," his sleepy voice called. Derrick threw the covers off of his body and slid into a pair of jeans and a black hoodie before walking out of his room, stepping over clothes on his floor along the way.

He didn't bother with walking around the corner, preferring to slip through the walls that separated him from the living room. His ghostly figure snuck up behind Belinda, and he leaned down over the couch to kiss her cheek.
"Why aren't you at the festival yet, babe?"

Maya Dre

ImageMaya was curling her long dark hair into loose waves for the celebration. Her makeup was natural and inviting and already finished. She donned a flowy yellow sundress with a halter-top neck and her modest body accented in all of the right places. It was such a good day already. Work had her so busy this past month but it paid off; she had two hundred dollars she could spend on whatever she liked tonight. She didn't often have money for events like this and she felt like gold walking.

Rafia's voice startled her, and she was glad the demon wasn't in the room to see her jerk the curling iron away. She sighed and put it away, having finished the last curl anyway.
"I've got my own ride," she shouted. "Don't hit my car on the way out, I had to park close because of that douche next door again." A moment later she heard the front door open and close and she had the home to herself. Her spirit relaxed as it always did when the demon was out of her home. Rafia always had her on edge.

She threw on gold bracelets before slipping on blue pumps, then made for her car outside. She took a deep breath to calm her excitement as she ignited the engine. The purr of the engine was a sound that emanated throughout her heart. She remembered her racing days with nostalgia and wished she could fly down the streets again. Her phone made a ping. She tried not to be irritated as she climbed out of the car and into the house again to retrieve the wallet Rafia had forgotten. Then, she was off to the festival.

The first thing she saw when she was parking was the lit up ferris wheel, standing proud next to the ocean as one of the main attractions. She wished she could teleport when she was standing in line. Lucky demon bitches. Once she was in, she began searching for familiar faces. She didn't see any, so she brought out her phone and sent a text.

To: Cj
Are you at the Summer Solstice yet? :) I'll be in magical lane, we should meet up.

To: Rafia
I brought it for you. I'm already at the festival so just call or something when you get here.

After his brief encounter with Alexander, who soon leaves, presumably to go walk around with the girl who had been staring through the window when Jem walked in, the dimpled boy does find the person he's looking for. Hopefully the Shantley parents are planning to let their primary workers take the night off. It would surprise Jem if they didn't- it's not like they've kept the siblings locked in working for the past several festivals. As far as families go, CJ has a really good one, Jem thinks. They all seem to get along very well, at least. Not that Jem would ever complain of his family- they stick together, even if his mother and father have the tendency to argue quite a bit. It's a good thing neither of them are the sort to put aggressive words into action- especially with his parents' potions, which would be too perfect for bits of revenge or irritation and such.

CJ promises to be done soon, which merits another smile from Jem- not that his smiles are really a rare commodity to come by. Both of the friends, best friends since childhood, are known to be the sort who smile quite a lot. After all, they share a sort of sociable cheerfulness, as well as the fact that it kind of brushes aside any other issues the two may have. In Jem's case, people tend to forget how bad his sulking can be, or how emotionally sensitive he is [almost child-like], when faced only with a boyish smile and a joke. That's the way he likes it, of course. He's too dependent on the presence of others to allow them to slip away so easily.

As his brunette friend returns, this time for them to set off and enjoy the festival, Jem finds himself smiling once more. "So, where to first? Games? Music? Meet up with people?" he asks, never having had qualms with letting other people make decisions for him, especially ones so trivial. Besides, he doesn't know how long CJ's parents will let one of their few waiters go for- or how busy the restaurant usually gets during the festival, now that he thinks about it. He's never hung around the place during the Summer Solstice.

"Maybe we could find Skye?" he adds, mentioning their mutual friend [though he perhaps sees the spring faerie as more than a friend].

Mel owns a phone. She knows how to use her phone. She even goes sofar as to use it fairly frequently. That being said, she is one of those people who will send a text, put her phone down, and not look at it again for an hour, leaving the other person mildly confused. At the moment, she can argue the excuse that the music and dancing and cute guy dancing diagonally from her served to redirect her attention. Whatever the argument, the young woman doesn't notice the response texts that float in, focused on dancing and the music and the fact that the weather is impossibly perfect at that moment. It's her ideal summer day, really- perfect weather, perfect waves, perfect shots, and good music.

And, she soon finds out, good friends. It's fortunate that Chris actually physically approached her, because she hadn't noticed his text, just as she hadn't most of the other messages. Hearing his voice, she turns around to face the shapeshifter, whose hands-in-pocket, make-self-smaller stance looks impossibly awkward among the pulsing semi-crowd. She grins at him, her wide and easy smile as distinctive to her as Jem's dimpled one is to him. "Hey! My mood, man- on a roller coaster that only goes up, my friend," she adds with a twist of her smile that gives it a funny looking quirk towards one side. As her speech patterns often suggest, Mel is a rather relaxed, non serious person. "Speaking of moods, here comes your lady love," she refers to his less than subtle crush on Theo Osonia, the girl hair that Mel has often compared to a supernova. To Mel's credit, she drops her voice slightly, out of courtesy for Chris's anxiousness.

Mel raises her eyebrows at Theo, smile quirking once more, "I took lessons from her." She looks over Theo once, then beams. "Nice to see you aren't wearing heels this year."

Finally, her attentions are located in such a way that she feels a text coming in. Leaning in towards Chris, she whispers [as quiety as she can to still be heard, "I'm gonna ditch this crowd. But first, I'll leave you and lady nova over there to the privacy of the mob." With a wink and shoulder nudge, she is out of sight, weaving through the crowd until she reaches clearer lands, where she can check her phone and wait for Chris and Theo to join her, if they choose to. This is just like Mel- bring people into her own habitat, only to leave them there to fend for themselves.

To: Jae
Oh, love, I'm blushing. I trust you'll wait for me. For a few minutes. Or an hour. I'll get there eventually

To: Belinda
I'll be looking for that top- and maybe the face. :-)

To: Skye
Maybe near the Ferris wheel. Stay tuned.

To: Chris
Wow, long time no see. Having fun in the crowd? Knowing you, I'm surprised you aren't crowd surfing yet!

To: CJ
The hardest! If you're nice, I'll give you cheaper drinks during my shift.

Belinda was happily listening to Mariah Carey swoon in her ear when her phone buzzed in her lap. She smirked as the texts came in the first from CJ then Ciaran.

To: Belinda
I'll win you the biggest prize I can, maybe more ;)
From: Cj

To: CJ
Im gonna hold you to that ;)

She bit her lip to hold in a big goofy grin. Cj tended to have that effect on her. He was like a male version of herself. He was adorable, flirty, and sweet. The dimples were just the cherry on top.
To:Belinda
It wouldn’t be much of a festival if I wasn’t there, now would it? Keep an eye out.
From: Ciaran

To: Ciaran
Will do

Ciaran was the opposite situation. The two got along smashingly but he insisted on believing she was just going to ditch him. He seemed interested in her but refused to let her get close to him. Which infuriated her to no end.

Belinda had already made herself comfortable. She draped her sweater over the side of the chair and slipped her booties off. She was locking her phone when she felt a soft kiss on her cheek. She grinned knowing it was Derrick. "Why aren't you at the festival yet babe?" He asked. She shrugged. "Because I wanted a ride there and I knew all the good mojojojo in the air would be killing you. Soooo I came to give you a boost." She turned so she was supported by her knees on the couch and was facing him. "Your welcome" She said with s grin before pulling him closer by his hoodie until their lips touched. Kissing him was natural for her almost by instinct. She pulled back when she felt herself going overboard. She knew she probably released to many pheromones but she really didn't care.
"Now lets go to that festival, your driving" She said easily as if they weren't just making out a few minutes ago. She slipped her sweater back on along with her booties, applied a fresh coat of red lipstick and pushed her big black round glasses onto her hair. "C'mon no time to waste" She said sliding her small hands into his and leading him to his car outside.

Once Belinda and Derrick arrived at the Festival she almost ran out the car. She was at the excitement level of a small child. She pulled him along as she searched for their friends.

Belinda spotted Mel first as they walked around. It was hard to miss Mel with her platinum blonde hair and golden skin. She raced up to her and threw her arms around her friends neck. "I've been looking forward to this like forevor! She gushed as she let her friend go.

Cj grins at Jem, exiting with him. "Can we do them all?" He chuckles, holding the door for two girls who look about their age, and then continuing with Jem. His comment about Skye draws a nod from Cj, his eyes looking over his best friends face for the usual glint he gets when speaking about the young faerie. He nodded again, his phone vibrating. Pulling it out, he turned at the end of the road, signaling Jem to follow. "Where is she now," he questions, banging out the texts he had gotten.

To: Maya
Heading over now. For sure, I'm with Jem. Find us?
From: Cj

To: Mel
Then I will definitely be nice. When are ya working till?
From: Cj

To: Belinda
I'm down. Let me know when you wanna meet up :)
From: CJ

After sending the texts, he pocketed his phone, turning his whole attention to his best friend. If he was being honest, which he generally was, he missed hanging out with Jem. Sure, they hung out a lot, but it seemed any time they were together now a days, Skye or another girl showed up, which was totally fine, but they hadn't hung out just them two in a while. He shrugged off the thought, pulling his hand up to run it through his hair. They were walking somewhere, and Cj had to put all of his mind into keeping on track, wanting to move and touch everything on any side of them. The food, the people, the loud music. It was all so distracting. His head bounced around, but he was able to keep walking with Jem. Hopefully Jem didn't notice the slight change in his attitude; they'd amped up his meds. But then again, Cj was always this bouncy.

Before she gets any responses via text, Mel is attacked, in the friendliest of ways, by her fellow selkie, Belinda Santiago. Belinda is the sort of person who people either adore or hate, and most tend to lean towards the former, from what Mel's seen. The girl's easy smile, paired with eyes that look like a puppy's, is completely contagious. Not that it takes much to get Mel smiling, of course, but she is now, after returning her friend's surprise-attack hug with a squeeze and a grin, "Hey there, chickadee. Well, the wait is over, isn't it? Which means it is about time to have some fun, eh?" Belinda's enthusiasm would've made the platinum blonde smile, had she not already been beaming in general.

It is hardly a surprise to see Derrick trailing behind Belinda. The two always seem incredibly close, especially when Belinda is between relationships, which she often seems to be. The two share a hug as well, though much briefer than Mel's hug with Belinda. While friends, they aren't quite as close as the two selkie are with each other. "Oh, you know, assembling. Chris is smashed in the crowd with Theo," she adds with a knowing smile. It's hardly a secret that Chris has a massive crush on the fellow shapeshifter. Even he seems to know that everybody knows it.

"Jae's somewhere near the ferris wheel, last I've heard, and I think Skye should be wandering around somewhere. CJ's probably with Jem? Might meet up with him eventually," she lists off the people that she's contacted to hang out with, save for the two who are standing right in front of her. A clenching in her stomach tells Mel that right now would be an excellent time to grab a snack. She relates this suggestion to the duo before her.

"We can head over through the game section. I'm sure Chris won't mind us leaving him behind with Theo," she suggests. Her phone then buzzes in the back pocket of her shorts, so she gives an apologetic smile, not really different from her normal smile, and takes it out.

To: CJ
8-1am

To: Jae
Caught? Been steppin on toes again?

To: Skye
Awesome. Keep up the good work.

Jem returns CJ's smile with one of his own at the suggestion that they do them all. He's perfectly okay with that- experiencing every bit of the festival. Last year he hadn't attended, having fallen into one of his moods after a bad break up, and he is thus determined for the day lost. Besides, it would certainly help to erase the memories of last year as much as possible- as with the ending of all relationships, romantic or platonic, it had been a huge hit to the ever-sensitive witch boy. He follows after CJ, falling into step right beside his childhood friend. The question gives him a momentary pause, thought-wise. He doesn't actually know where she is and has, not being much of a phone guy, left his cellphone back at home. Guesses will just have to do.

"Well, she's probably around, I guess? Let's just walk around, and see if we happen upon her," He suggests, a compromise in order to free more time to hang out with CJ. His friend has not been the only one to note that they don't hang out as much as they used to. This is the sort of thing that Jem tends to be very quick to notice, even if it is trivial.

CJ is as bouncy as usual, so Jem doesn't really notice his hyperactivity acting up more than usual. Sure, he sees that CJ's eyes are flitting around quite a bit, but that's just CJ, usually. Still, he worries for a moment, wondering if something has happened or if he's had some sort of medication issue. They first bonded because CJ hadn't taken his meds, and Jem had helped to calm him down. Both boys have their own little problems, as far as processing and brain activity goes, even if CJ is the only one of the two who is medicated for it.

"Want to go play a game or something?" Jem suggests, thinking that it would be a good way to help funnel his friend's general nervous energy. Besides, they are reaching the area that has a long line of carnival style games, and it looks like fun. Jem wouldn't mind trying his hand at one of the games, to see if he can maybe win one of the prizes.

Belinda smirked at Derricks comment before smiling and saying "Yeah I did not get this hot for nothing. she smirked and twirled a lock of her hair around her finger. "Speaking of which yes, I am aware I am breaking the biggest rule: No heels. But these are super comfy and I am super short." She smiled as Mel "Yes let's have some fun"Mel was definitely the girl for fun. Belinda couldn't wait to see what the platinum blonde had planned next. She grasped Derrick's hand in support. She was always extra attentive to him on occasions like this. She knew he was making a sacrifice to be here for his friends. She focused back on Mel in time to hear her Chris comment. She smirked mischievously "Good for them. Just going to throw this out there... She licked her lips and raised an eyebrow " They both seem like they need a little sexual interactions in their lives" She then felt her phone buzz in her little leather bag. She took it out and smiled as Cj's name popped up. She bit her lip as she responded.

To: Cj
I'm with Mel now. I say by the games right now? Gimme a teddy bear, get a kiss?

She nodded as Mel suggested that they go to the games "Actually that is perfect since I just tole Cj to meet me there." She tucked a hair behind her ear. "He ows me a teddy bear" She then turned to Derrick and winked "And you owe me a funnel cake. I love festivals"

She tucked her self under Derricks arm and Grabbed Mels hand as they walkes towards the games.

Belinda squirmed in delite under Derricks arm as they reached the games. A big dopey bear caught her eye and she, in the most childish nature, exclaimed "Ohmergerd I want it. It's so cute"

Skye quirked an eyebrow as Jae's face transformed from uncomprehending to understanding, her mind quickly putting together Skye's subtle hints. However, the witch didn't react as Skye had expected, instead grabbing her arm and dragging her out of ear shot of the stall worker. "Um, Skye I don't know about you, but in the world that I live in...that's called cheating!" Jae said, her voice a half whisper and half shout. "I'm disappointed in you." She continued further, a rare serious expression crossing her face, "I don't get you. One day you're threatening our friendship because I lied, then the next second you're deceiving people with your illusions, that's not fair at all."

In all honesty it probably wasn't fair, but when had a faerie ever been known as just? In Skye's mind lying, outright lying to someone's face was wrong. There was no grey area for it, if you lied than you were lowered in Skye's mind. But omitting the truth was something that Skye had no trouble with. Simply allowing people to jump to their own conclusions was Skye's favourite game.
"I never lied." Skye began, a playful smile on her face revealing that she wasn't taking Jae's telling off as seriously as she probably should have. "Lying is for people who lack the will to speak the truth. All I do is show people what they want and expect to see." Skye gave Jae a pout of her own and held up her prized toy bear at eye level with the two girls. "It would have been nice for Mr Cuddles to have a friend." Skye said as she created an illusion. This time Skye's magic was focused on the stuffed toy. 'Mr Cuddles', as she had named him, appeared to move of his own accord. The line of his mouth moving down into a sad frown while tears began to fall from his button eyes. Skye blinked, pushing the illusion further and suddenly the sound of Mr Cuddles sniffing broke through the general sounds of the crowd around them. No one watching would be able to see through Skye's illusion to the inanimate toy bear that was actually sitting in her hands. All they would see was the distraught toy bear crying his eyes out and occasionally blowing his nose on his furry paw.

While Mr Cuddles 'cried' Skye's eyes happened to glance up behind Jae and catch sight of a pair of familiar faces just wondering into the games area. Skye knew Jem and CJ from their younger days since all three had grown up in Teraton together, they were always good fun to hang out with. The illusion around Mr Cuddles had reacted to Skye's excitement of seeing her friends. The bear, previously crying buckets, wiped the tears off his fur and broke into a winning smile. Mr Cuddles stood up in Skye's hand, straightened his bow-tie (because all the best toy bears have bow-ties) and began to jump madly up and down on her palm. Since Skye and Jae were standing pretty much in the middle of the area she hoped that one of the boys would see them and come over, if not Skye would ambush them when she could.

Skye broke the illusion and the bear instantly returned to a lifeless slump. At the same time her phone vibrated in her pocket, indicating another text which was most likely from Mel. However a moment later Skye caught sight of the platinum blonde walking with Belinda and Derrick. It seemed everyone was congregating around the games.
"Come on Jae," Skye said, returning her attention to her friend standing in front of her, "You've probably spent enough money on the game to outright buy the bear, I know I did." Skye coaxed, knowing that the amount of money she had spent on her game had probably been worth two of the things, "Last chance..."

Cj turned back to Jem, his eyes still on one of the many colorful games. "Yeah for sure," he said, smiling at the thought of his friend and Skye. Yeah, Jem liked her, he could tell, but just how much was slightly confusing. He tilted his head slightly to look at his friend, trying to catch his eyes, then getting distracted as the two continue closer to the games.

His phone vibrated, and as he took it out it vibrated again. He read each message then replied to it, trying to walk while typing.

To: Jae
We can get food later or something
From: CJ

To: Mel
Perfect. I will be there in a little then
From: CJ

To: Belinda
I'm over there now
From: CJ

CJ sent the last of his texts, and while checking the time, his eyes flashed up as his whole body came in contact with something. He found himself looking at Jae and Skye, his hand now on Jae's arm as he caught her, stopping her from falling. A short, "Sorry!" was out of his mouth before he saw who he'd bumped into, out of habit. At the sight of his close friend, a cheeky smile fit on his face, his arm pulling her in for a hug before letting her go. He grinned widely at Skye too, putting his arms out for a hug. Everyone who knew him, knew he was a hugger. It was just part of being CJ.

Jem smiles, becoming somewhat distracted by the color and noise of the games area. His attention has to be divided in two, now, though he makes a valiant attempt to keep it primarily on CJ, succeeding for the most point. In fact, CJ is also being distracted by the games, as well as his phone, making Jem's friend's attention split into three thirds. Of course, this is usual, and more than likely there are other tiny fragments digging into the other male witch's focus, things which Jem has yet to see or hasn't decided is requiring of any serious attentions from himself.

Then, Jem catches sight of Skye, and he lights up a bit, though she is also accompanied by Jae, who seems to constantly be teasing him for some reason or another. "Ah, Sk-" before he can really greet her, CJ, who had apparently not actually been paying attention due to his cell phone, collides into Jae. Jem's face breaks out into a large grin, for he clearly thinks the collision, and CJ's cheeky grin following it, to be somewhat funny. The blond stands slightly back whilst CJ greets the two girls with hugs, as is his tendency. Jae turns and greets him first, calling him Jer-Bear, which Jeremy kind of dislikes, but dismisses all the same. He simply smiles.

"The usual- potions and books. You?" his response is quite brief, and paired with a bit of a shrug. He's not very good at small talk, typically, but can muster up this much, at least. He's always rather envied those whom he knows that bypass it entirely, leaping over weather and "How are you?"s in favor of significantly greener conversational pastures. With a glance towards Skye, he can guess that the two have already played the games for a bit. Before he can ask where they've won the bear from, Skye interjects, and sort of answers the question.

She does so while wrapping her arm around his waist, contact which he is intensely aware of. He's fairly certain that his affections are entirely unrequited and unnoticed, which can be incredibly frustrating when Skye is constantly flirting with [or in front of] him. Still, hoping his face isn't red, as he's had enough practice trying to keep it from flushing, Jem bumps his hip back at hers. He puts his arm over her shoulder, the gesture more possessive, should one see the slight nuances of his body language or expression, than it perhaps ought to be. "Or something along those lines," Jem responds with a smile. Of course he isn't going to admit that 75% of his reasoning for coming over here was hoping that Skye would be around the game section. He knows her well enough to have been correct, it appears. "Hopefully I have more luck than Jae, though," he adds with a smile, beginning to enjoy [as the initial nervousness fades] having his arm around Skye.

Mel raises an eyebrow at Belinda, but humor still sparkles in her eyes. "Not entirely sure on what your definition of a little is, Bel, but you're probably right all the same," she agrees, but is already moving on to the next topic mentally. The girl has never exactly been one for sticking to one subject for too long, and figures that how much Theo and Chris are getting isn't something that she's actually particularly interested in.

Mel glances over at Derrick, grinning, when Bel looks up from her phone to announce the two debts which apparently must be paid. It's just like the girl to already have guys 'owing' her things- Bel always has had this way of washing people up in her energy and attitude. It's something Mel grew into, but Bel, she's always thought, was born with. In childhood, this was worth envying. Luckily, Melanie has since moved on from such petty jealousies. They aren't worth the time, and are never very productive, anyway.

Unsurprisingly, after her announcement, Belinda proceeds to drag Derrick and Mel after her towards the games center, in pursuit of a teddy bear. Mel's nearly certain that the girl has at least three already, given her occasionally childish tastes, but smiles indulgently all the same. It can sometimes be hard to take Belinda seriously when she acts so child-like, no matter how short she makes her shorts, but Mel loves her all the more for this. After all, this fun-seeking attitude is one which the two happen to have in common, besides being the two female selkie in their general age range. It's a rather small town.

-~-~-~-~-

While Bel moons over the teddy bear, Mel's gaze wanders, sliding from face to face of the people, young and old, who walk through the stands. Some hold prizes, others look frustrated, and more still are being drawn towards one game or another. All seem animated, and that's what makes the brief people watching worth it. Her eyes latch onto a familiar face, surrounded by more friendly expressions. It's Jae, of course, accompanied by what appears to be Jem, CJ, and Skye. Mel raises her arm, her natural height helping it to extend above the crowd, and waves it about, before finally bringing her hand to her mouth and whistling, low but loud. It briefly grabs the attention of people in the vicinity, and while most look away immediately after, the intent is that Jae's attention will be captured.

Hot. Hot. Hot.

Adding the energy expended in running with her brother into the heat that radiated from Summer’s hand, all combined with the heat of the summer day, May was already at the brink of her toleration for the heat. When you want to do something at least warn me! She could hear her brother pushing the thought toward her, her laughter ringing like droplets of ice shards throughout the town as the two zipped past the crowds. To tell the truth, she did not hold an ounce of guilt for the prank the twins have just pulled. However, she never did feel much guilt, her icy nature not allowing her to feel for anyone except her other half, who worked perfectly with her on their little game with the witch.

“I think we have just played a very dangerous game, Summer,” Even though it was a dangerous game, playing with a witch of voodoo magic, her voice did not hold a hint of fear, simply amusement.

Without much of a warning, she let go of her brother’s hand after catching sight of one of the booths on the side. A few murmurs, an exchange of currency and a weird glance from the booth’s owner later, May returned to her brother’s side, now with a small white umbrella. Strange, to say the least, for even the owner she was speaking to gave her a questioning glance when she asked for the umbrella, but to her, it was necessary. However, she held it as if it was common spectacle, opening the umbrella and raising it above her head, the umbrella casting a shadow over her small body despite the already setting sun. Much better. Although she did not exactly want to make her twin feel bad by showing her discomfort to the heat he enjoys so much, the feeling of unease was still apparent, especially after the umbrella practically rubbed her dislike for his season in his face.

A single whistle broke through the air and her head turned with annoyance at the sudden disturbance in the already chaotic environment she was not taking much amusement in. She no longer had a sense of where the two of them have wandered to, but simply keeping him within her proximity gave her a sense of comfort. However, her annoyance eased to simple curiosity the second she saw who the whistle was directed at, the two groups on the side included people she knew disliked her with passion, especially that spring faerie she held a unknown grudge against. I've found a new target. Her icy gaze flickered with mischievousness, her hand tugged slightly at the corner of Summer’s sleeves.

The already chilly air around her dropped significantly in temperature as she felt people passing by giving the girl with the umbrella a wary glance. The ground underneath her feet frosted slightly at the sudden drop in temperature. However, her eyes were focused on something else, the teddy bear that stood in the faerie’s hands. "You want a warning, Summer? It's about to get very cold.." Her icy voice broke through the chaotic sounds that roamed the festival and within seconds, spikes of ice grew on the bear, morphing it slightly away from the cute appearance it held, frozen horns and a devil’s tail grew onto its body.

“It looks so much better that way doesn’t it?” She whispered to her twin, that smile forming on the corner of her lips.

After enjoying the festival, some danced all night, some went home [alone or with another], etc. A few witches stayed behind to make quick work of clean help, though they did receive help from some volunteers. Now, it is afternoon of the next day, 12pm. As it is summertime, few people have classes, unless they are taking summer courses of course, but some do have jobs, appointments, etc. Some are dealing with hangovers, headaches, and morning afters, while for others it is simply just another morning to wake up to. All of this depends, of course, on the individual character.

Common Places to Find People At This Time:
The Beach [Surfing, Tanning, Swimming, Beach Volleyball]
Downtown [Shops, Cafes, The Public Library]
The Park [Picnics, Frisbee, etc.]
