Description

A Sercian male named for the color of his wings as the sun hits them, Rani decided at a young age to learn what he could of magic. As such, he followed the Fire magic path. He keeps his auburn hair longer, but tied back in a low ponytail at the nape of his neck. It tapers off at his shoulder blades. His wings are a red bronze color in normal light, and it's only when the sun hit's them that the gold shows. His skin is a dark tan from too much time in the air on sunny days.

His eyes are a deep brown, rich with life and have a tendency to darken to a near black when he grows angry or upset. It is this tendency which is a rather bothersome tell to him. After all, he prides himself on his control of his emotions.

Rani is of average height in comparison to most of his species, being neither a towering giant or diminutive dwarf. This Sercian knows that the frigid air of the upper atmosphere can harm, so tends to wear his flying leathers, simple trousers made of cowhide un-dyed leather and a vest to go other a long sleeved heavy cotton shirt. He is at the prime of his life and knows that the lean muscles he has worked to develop will serve him well.

Personality

Rani is a cunning male that enjoys putting on a charming veneer. He is the very picture of a gentleman, and works to maintain that illusion in all circumstances. Most of his life he has tried to appear as the good guy, and a ladies man. The truth is not so pretty. A vain and petty man at heart, he plots carefully to get his way in all things, and tends to be very spoiled. However his act is nearly flawless so he never worries about this being discovered.

Indeed, his tells are seldom. His eyes flash when he grows angry with some fools incompetence. His nose twitches once when he coems across someone he dislikes. To the best of his knowledge, no ones knows these tells however, and he works hard to suppress them as best he can. The young man aspires to be Master of the Court of Air, and wont' let anything in his way. After all, as a Sercian male of such fine quality, he surely deserves it.

Equipment

An archer, Rani prefers the long bow for it's distance and power. He also can shoot a crossbow, though that he does not carry upon his person except when hunting. As he fully respected was a bow can do, but knows that heavy metal armor is too much for flying, Rani wears leather padded armor to protect himself, in addition to his flight leathers.

He knows a 'few tricks' with fire as well, including how to add fire to his arrows for increased harm and how to fashion a bow and arrow entirely out of fire, though that one he rarely uses.

History

Rani comes from a respected family of archers from the mountainous region. Flying among the cliffs and mountain tops as a young one, he was taught archery early one. It wasn't until he brought down his first kill at age ten however that he earned the name Flamewings. One of the many watchers of this significant event in his life had noticed that as he angled low to hit the large beast, the sun hit the wings just so to bring out the red and gold that were otherwise hidden. He makes his living off the land, and selling many of his kills to those who cannot hunt.

Except during times of fighting. Then he earns his living by fighting, and has developed a reputation as an accurate shot, no matter how fast he flies, and is known for the deadly arrows of fire he shoots. Proud of this reputation, this Sercian man has entered many competitions to prove his abilities to others. Now, he aspires to be more than just an archer. He is determined to be the Master of the court of Air. and nothing will get in his way.
