This has got to be better...
Personality: Ian could be called a goth, though he doesn't bother to dress in black lace or wear make up, which he regards as a bit effeminate. All his life he has been fascinated by the arcane and bizarre - vampires were always top of his list. He tends to be cynical or dismissive, though he has a romantic streak, which he disguises as being sex-mad.
likes alcohol, being free, tobacco, American cars, British 70s music, books, anything to do with the mystic or occult
Dislikes: rules, restrictions, brussels sprouts, arrogant people
Fears: spending his life in a mundane or boring way
Hobbies: listening to music, reading books about the occult, building computer or music systems, looking up girls' dresses
Has the usual equipment - iphone, music system, clothes, etc.
History: Ian was left on the steps of a London orphanage as a baby, and claims his parents were British aristocrats, though there is no evidence for this at all. He tended to keep to himself, though he did develop an early interest in computers, and tended to hunt net cafes, where he met lots of people into things he was into - 70s Brit music like Bowie, The Stones, etc and also modern music (he has a real taste for Lady Gaga). He was heavily into the occult and such, which made the authorities at the orphanage view him with suspicion. He found out about the Rosalie academy on the net, and conceived an ambition to go there. He always hated the dreary, humdrum life of suburban Britain, and felt he had some kind of destiny. Every inmate of the orphanage receives an amount of money from a trust fund on their 18th birthday, and Ian decided to use his to travel to the United States and join the academy. The orphanage officials stood out against that, but he was determined, and after a long battle they had no choice but to let him have his way. Ian has not really thought through what it would be like to be in a relationship with a vampire, all he knows is that he finds human girls shallow and boring... kapow.
