Saint Night;(okay before I start let me say I came up with this in school so sorry if it's choppy....)
Before daybreak the world is a completely different place, with one lone protector... Can Nightingale live up to her family Legacy? And still get the boy of her dreams...? Only time will tell....
The Nightingale has been protecting the city for as long as crime has been a part of the city. But normal humans don’t know the “Scum” they think is causing the panic in the streets are really Demons, Mutants, and various other creatures. After Kitty Jacklyn Atkinson’s mother Cornelia Evangeline Atkinson died mysteriously before telling young Kitty the family trade. Kitty is now trapped between a world of creatures and humans. Will sparks fly when she meets her new assistant, the devilish new boy who was making eyes at her during school? Only Time will tell what this story will turn out as…

Kitty woke up in a state of dismay, ever since she discovered her mother’s secret her whole world has been spiraling out of control. Getting out of bed she got dressed in her school uniform and headed down staires, she could smell her dad making pancakes. “What’s going on?” she asked.
“I just thought you would need a pick me up.” Her dad said,
“Well I don’t have time” she said “Nandee will be here soon…” she sighed gulping down the pancakes… Kitty wasn’t aware of what Nandee was yet, and to be honest she would never have guessed…

Nandee brushed her long dark hair out of her eyes hastily and set off out the door, checking the coast was clear first. She looked back at the dilapidated building that she resided in currently. She had moved out of her foster family's house two months before and hadn't done so well. She smoothed out the collar of her blouse and stepped onto the road, travelling through the suburbs until she reached the prim, tidy section of the city that Kitty lived in. She went up to the door and knocked quickly, smoothing her skirt down nervously while she waited. She checked her glamour hastily, making sure that her wings were well hidden beneath the layers of magic.

Kitty answered the door, and hugged her friend. "Hey Nan! "What did you get for the math homework anyway?" she asked then grabbed her bag and waved goodbye to her dad. Closing the door, "I think it was 5 but I keep feeling like i'm wrong"

Nandee hugged her friend back, waving quickly to Kitty's dad. "Uh, I got seven, but I'm not entirely sure either. You never know with these things do you? Did I smell waffles in there? Or pancakes? I can't really tell the difference." She said, her stomach rumbling at the smell. She smiled appologetically.
"Didn't have time for breakfast this morning, I was running late." She explained patting her pocket as if to make sure that something was still there. She was checking that the cash she had swiped from a cabby on a break was still in her pocket, but Kitty wasn't to know the situation she was in

"Umm... sure is" Kitty smiled, "Come on Dad made lots" she opened the door "Dad can Nan and I have breakfast now?"
"Thought you didn't want to eat..." he dad said.
"Changed my mind" Kitty muttered noticing Nan rubbing her pocket and felt like something wasn't right.

nandee smiled thankfully.
"Thanks. I normally wouldn't but I was in such a rush and everything." she said appologetically again. She smiled at kitty's dad. "hey, sorry to barge in but they smelt so good." She took the plate Kitty's dad handd to her and ate them so hastily that she could have inhaled them. Standing up she grabbed her backpack again and looked at Kitty. "Come on, we better get going. Thanks." She said to Kitty's dad, before starting towards the door. She felt a twinge of pain in her side and stopped for a split second but then shrugged it off. Nothing unusual now, she thought. She turned back to the kitchen. "Thanks again, but we gotta run or we'll be late." She said. She felt uncomfortable and trapped in the homey kitchen. that was one of the reasons she lived in the part of town that was falling down. more escape routes. Her back felt like it was being tickled with millions of tiny feathers and in truth, it was. She bit her lip, feeling the tingling of magic in the air. She was extremely susceptible to the feeling.
"Kit, we really gotta go." She said nervously, her eyes wide and the hairs on the back of her neck tingling. She could sense that she had been followed.

Nandee walked hastily out the door, scouting out the area before stepping fully outside. "I think someone's following us. Don't worry, it's probably nothing. I would just fel a whole lot better once we are in school." She said. she could sense the presence of a powerful being, but couldn't see them. She knew the school had some pretty powerful wards around it, her friend Ishmael had placd them there himself. The school was the safest place she knew, though the groups of people worried her. She decided to trust Kitty with her most important secret. Stopping under a maple tree she turned to her friend. "I'm going to tell you something very important and you can't tell anyone, no matter what. do you promise not to tell?"

Nandee took a deep breath and told Kitty. "I didn't really grow up travelling around the world, well I did but not in this lifetime. My parents were gypsies in the 16th century. I grew up travelling to different carnivals in europe and then a law got passed banning travelling performers like us. My parents were in a performance when the law was passed. they were captured and executed." She stopped for a moment, looking at her friend. "Me and my older siblings Jaheal and Kay-Lee heard the news and went as far as we could away from the land. We travelled here but we were killed in a massive fire in the forest. I've been dead for centuries. As new editions to haven we became novices. As novices we studied basic skills. Within haven there are rules. you break enough you get sent here to redeem yourself. That's why I'm here." She finished with a small sigh. She wasn't meant to tell anyone the truth about her, but Kitty needed to know.

Kitty looked at her friend, she wasn't sure yet if being the nightingale meant protecting all innocents or just humans but she didn't care Nandee was her friend and she'd protect her even if she wasn't supposed to. "why did you tell me?" she had to ask, "I mean do you know who I am, who my mother was?" she asked.

Nandee shook her head. "Sorry Kit. But you knew this would happen. you're the nightingale. Your mother would have warned you. I know you haven't done anything yet, you're still learning, but there are creatures out there that want to stop you before you start. That's why I was sent here. Your mother specifically requested my redemption method to be protecting you. I've known for ages, I'm sorry I didn't tell you what I was sooner." She looked at her hands and then stiffened, looking around warily.
"We've got to move. Let's get to school, now." I felt a crackling energy in the area and looked to my left just in time to see a blue energy ball come flying towards them.
"Look out!" She yelled, throwing herself towards Kitty and knocking her to the ground.

Kitty got up from the ground, "OH MY GOD!" She screamed, "Nan are you alright?" she asked as another energy thing came towards her. She backfliped out of the way, then looked at Nan, "how'd I do that?"

Nandee smiled. "You're the nightingale Kit. It's in your DNA. And don't worry about me, I'm fine. I don't think I can die again. But we should seriously get to school before another attack occurs." She said, picking herself up off the ground. She saw smoke rising in the distance and felt a shiver run down her spine.
"Something isn't right." She muttered and broke into a run, hoping Kitty would follow.

Kitty looked at the smoke for a second, then ran after Nan. She was right it wasn't right, and quickly caught up to her. "I wish my life was normal" she muttered and started to run faster. "you sure school is safe?" she asked. they were only a block away at this point.

Nandee came to a skidding halt at the corner before the school. The smoke was billowing out of the windows of the school buildings. Crimson and orange flames snaked around the walls of the coridoors. "No Kit, I'm pretty sure it isn't safe any more." She said after a moment. To anyone else the fire would seem like an accident, and Nandee had almost believed it herself, until she had sensed the tingling of magic. "Kit, we have to go. Now. Back to my place." She said in a hurried voice. Her voice was low, and her senses alert.

Kitty looked at the flames and felt palatalized, "Nan" she whimpered "I don't think I can move..." she said when a boy jumped down from the trees,
"Come on" he said looking at Kit and Nan in a single glance.
Kit didn't say anything still vary confused, and ended up passing out right there the boy caught her before she fell and looked to Nan. "After you Angel" he said with a smile.

Nadee narrowed her eyes at the boy. She had seen him around at school and was getting a weird vibe off of him. it wasn't bad as such, just weird. She didn't trust him completely, but her held Kitty and she was the reason that Nandee was in that town so she had to go along with the boy. "Don't call me angel. My name is Nandee, and I'd appreciate it if you would call me by it. Who are you?" She said in a suspicious voice. She didn't like him touching Kitty

The Boy laughed a bit, "Ok Nandee, I'm Raphael I'm here because I thought you could use some help with the Nightingale." he said offering Kitty to hold, "I know a place that is ten times more safe then your house, where no doubt they've already found." he paused and looked behind him making sure he wasn't followed. "But we have to get going"

Nandee let out a low hiss of annoyance and sighed, accepting that he was most likely right. "Fine, but we really should get further away and wake her." She said gesturing to her friend. She didn't trust Raphael but no matter. She had to. He said he was there to protect the nightingale and so that was all she needed to know. for now. "Lead the way." She said. She had a flash of recognission for him and couldn't place where she had seen him before, all she knew was it wasn't just at school.

Raphael nodded and guided her threw the busy streets, Kitty still knocked out in his arms. "Come on" he said as he crawled in a small Shake, setting Kitty on a cot agents the wall. Then looking back and Nan said, "you want to try and wake her up?" he asked, moving behind her "I'll keep watch" he said as he walked back out the door.

Nandee didn't hide her frown of annoyance, but did s he suggested. "Kitty, wake up." She said softly, but with a strange authority in her voice. She didn't tell anyone but she had funneled a small amount of angel magic into her command, just enough to force Kitty to wake up. Nandee looked over to where Raphael was keeping watch. Suddenly it clicked.
"I know you." She said slowly, suspician sliding into her words.
