Introduction

The ship began its descent. You felt the pull of gravity start to affect you as the Dropship neared Octanus III. You felt a bump as you entered the atmosphere, but moments later, the ride began to smooth out. After you pass though the heat barrier the window burn shields retract and small traces of light enters the Emperor-Class Dropship. You walk towards the window to take your first look at the planet. Dawn was approaching, and in the faint light you could see derelict metropolis in the distance.
It was Hurobios, the fallen city. Plagued with a horrible parasite, it was quarantined to prevent the deaths of trillions. In a short period of only 3 years, a simple parasite had evolved from a simple multi-cellular parasite species to become collective intelligence , which means whatever the original cell broadcasts, all of the other parasites must obey. Evolving to a state in which it can control the bodies of it’s infected, it began to attack the walls encapsulating and preventing the parasite from infecting the rest of human kind. They were able to break small portions of the walls and gain more sources of food. Dogs, Humans, livestock, none could resist the parasite's will.
The parasite also has acquired the ability to steal the memories of its victims, so it is as smart as anyone it controlled. It began to lead more coordinated attacks against the walls, causing much more damage than ever before.
Every time it broke out new walls were erected farther away, and the surrounding areas were burned to the ground, and over time, more and more land was sacrificed to make sure no infected creature escaped, but now the wall extends for over 200 miles, and supplies are running low to rebuild the wall.
The COSC (Central Octanus Spatial Council) was about to issue the order to burn the planet down to the mantle, and when the fate of the planet seemed hopeless, a distress signal came from the top floor of the Council’s Spire, where order was once held within the city. It was Marcov Vasidik, the lead scientist of the Hurobios Research and Development Department. He said he was able to engineer a cure for the parasite. At first the Council was skeptic that a scientist could live so long without dying in the derelict city, so initially ignored the finding. But 2 days later that wasn’t their main concern.
Octanus IV had began to show signs of the parasite. Havoc struck the planet with a powerful blow. With a second planet under siege, they were left with no choice. All 17 council members decided that Vlasidik’s Cure was worth the effort to obtain. They so they assembled a team of Special Ops. Soldier to retrieve the man, but more importantly the cure at any cost,.
The Dropship changed course and headed for the city. As you pass over the mile high quarantine wall a light ignites from inside a building. The light becomes brighter and starts approaching your ship. An alarm sounds as the Ship's AI identifies the projectile as an RPG but reacts too late to dodge the explosive. A bright flame erupts through the ship as an ear-shattering sound pierces your ears, making them ring. The roar of the engines decreased to a slight wine as they give out.
You feel the sensation of falling.
A man screamed over the mic, as you felt the loss of altitude. You hear a scraping sound as the ship bounced off a high road suspended 500 feet above the ground, which was the last ditch effort of the pilot to land, but the ship was at too high of a velocity to securely land, and it bounced off the makeshift runway, and plummeted to the city's floor. You secure yourself to the seat and begin to pray. Next thing you know, a blinding white light fills your HUD.

"Am I dead?" You think to yourself. The light fades. You survived the crash. You look around to see your comrades scattered in the torn hull of the ship, some dead, some alive. All around you hear loud howls. The infected are coming.

Rules

1. Please obey RPGateway's rules.
2. Please obey this RP's rules and my directions.
3. No god-modding. This will also get you removed if you do it more than once. If you want to do something with another player, you must PM them for approval, and if you have their permission PM me and I'll let you.
4. Keep it realistic, for this is a Sci-Fi roleplay. Therefore, everything must be explainable. No guy strapped to a bomb can be cut free by throwing a razor-sharp boomerang from one hundred feet away.
5. You should post at least once a week. I have a life outside of this, you have a life outside of this, and it's not asking that much. If you can't post for one week, PM me and I'll excuse you. If you go missing then I'll have to remove your character. The story has to go on.
6. Literacy and a high standard of writing are needed. No posts less than five sentences, otherwise you will be warned and if you do it again, you will be removed. The minimum post length is a paragraph.
7. Along with your character, you will need to send a writing sample. Both of these will be judged. PM your writing sample to HMC. Your sample can be anything that's fictional and not poetry, and doesn't need to be from the point of view of your character.
8. No flaming or insulting other players.
9.This RP is set in the year of 3471, where many technological advances and new species have been discovered, and your character must be one of them:
Allowed Races in which your character can be:

Ka'aroa,
A humanoid race with one distinctive feature: Cat ears and tail. Although these creatures appear docile, they can be ruthless creatures in the field of war. Their superior speed and agility gives them the ability to run up to 45 mph and run up walls, and because of their stealth abilities they have many different fighting styles. These traits have made them of interest to the COSC Sniper Corps., because they are able to pick off a target, speed to a new location. Pick off another target, and speed to a new location. But some of them have abandoned this approach, and use silenced weapons, and their natural stealth, to their advantage. Traveling in packs of 2 or 3, they have been known to go "ninja" on their opponents.


Mar'trea
This breed of warriors is nearly unbeatable in any battle. Towering over their opposers, they prize their gigantic size.
They range from being 6-13 feet tall, depending on their gender. Their strength however, is much more impressive, for they can pick up objects 10 times their own body weight. They also are a very aggressive race, and love to fight.

Tar’iea
This race is extremely interesting. They are the only creatures we discovered that cannot die due to old age. They take childlike forms that stop growing between the ages of 6 to 12, and they also possess the ability of telekinesis. Able to bend the world around them, most of them believe themselves better than humans. However, they only can use their telekinesis 3 minutes a day without suffering damage to their lifeforce so once that’s depleted they usually pass out, Surrender or run to hide from their now superior enemy.
But there is one advantage they have over every other race. Something they keep secret from other races, a magical ability that only few of them can do: They call it the "Calling of Death" which sacrifices their immortality to open a rift from the afterlife to draw infinite power. After the spell wears off, they become human, and rapidly age, and live a lifespan of only 70 years after the spell.

Husk
Husks are humanoid creatures with a grey leather hide. Their hide is so strong, that most gun rounds do not penetrate the skin. Because of this fact, they like to fight in ways which normally endanger the lives of humans. They also are masters of all human fighting arts, and are extremely powerful in hand-to-hand combat.

Lileern
Much like the elves of legends, they are one of the rarest races in the galaxy. However they should not be taken lightly. Superior at all forms of weaponry they never miss their target, and always make a clean cut. Their pointed ears give them a sharp sense of hearing, and their powerful eyes let them see in the dark. No team is complete without one of these.

Cyborgs
These creatures are extremely complex, due to the fact that they were designed too specific tasks by their master race, humanity. They have nearly superhuman abilities, and come in two types: the V7 and the V6. The V6 is an outdated machine which actually is a bulky 10ft tall humanoid capable of minimal intelligence and the V7, a human-sized superior model, able to fake emotions, simulate life support functions, and talk in every known language possible. They also are extremely intelligent. Both models are great at ranged combat.
