Factions, Families, Clans, and Empires
Maya is about 5'5"-5'6" with shoulder length brown hair and deep set chocolate brown eyes. She's lean but strong due to her years of dancing(with every other girl in Bayville -_-).
She's the type of girl to sit down and watch the old T.V shows(I love Lucy, Mash etc) and not give a damn about what people say. She's a hopeless romantic and enjoys a good love story be it book or film. She's kind hearted toward most everyone but she's also not afraid to stand up for herself. She loves hot drinks(tea, coffee, hot chocolate) and drinks them quite often. She's also a thinker, staying up late into the night just thinking.
After a good tongue lashing, Inu sent Ria back on stage to run drills with the girls while she gathered her work things and headed into the lower half of the night club. Several of her workers were there, wiping down tables and cleaning dishes. Her bartenders were checking stock and readying themselves for the evening. Knowing that several of them had been there since the bar had closed at 4am, Inu took over, sending three bartenders home.
"You're feeling generous today." Inu looked up at the hispanic girl who came down the glass staircase from the offices, carrying a tray and a jar of tips.
"Not really, Maya, just avoiding Ria."
"What happened, Kitten?"
"She trashed my apartment last night with that damn party of hers." Maya shook her head.
"The party you were apart of?"
"I was already under the influence. My judgment was off."
Maya came out from the back room, a case of beer in her hands, stopping suddenly. "Gentlemen, how can we help you this morning?" She asked, stepping behind the bar. Inu turned from where she stood, fixing one a blown light bulb above the bar. She jumped down and glanced at Maya who just grinned.
"Sorry boys." Inu said, pointing to a table near the bar. "Happy hours are only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So, what can I get ya to drink?" Maya leaned against the bar, her back to the two and shook her head, stifling a laugh. Inu rolled her eyes.
"I'll go let Brick know in the kitchen." Maya said before disappearing behind the swinging double doors. Inu set to work on that drink. "Bit early for all this whiskey, don't you think?" she asked, circling the bar and setting the drink down on the table.
"I can tell." Inu returned to the bar and was in the middle of putting away a new bottle of Southern Comfort when she heard the upstairs doors closing. She sighed and whipped out seven shot glasses, popping open the So.Co. and pouring the shots. Maya came out of the kitchen with a tray and took the food to the table.
"Here ya go." She said, setting the burger and fries down. "Anything else I ca--" She was cut off as seven woman cam down the glass stair cases laughing and calling to each other. She sighed. "If I can get ya' anything else just let know." She said with a smile. Turning to the bar she said, "I hate rehearsal days." Inu laughed and poured an eighth shot.
"Give me thirty seconds." She called, raising her shot glass. All the girls-even Maya- mirrored her and they threw back their heads and downed the whiskey. "If you're going to be down here, you're going to work. If you don't want to work you can rehearse. Either way it benefits me and the club." She said, preparing a second drink. A couple of the girls set off to do odd jobs around the club while the rest returned to the upper portion. "How are the new girls doing?" Inu asked Ria. Ria shrugged.
"We could really use you up there tonight, Kitten."
"On a Saturday night? I don't think so. My bar is going to be packed. I think you can handle it." She delivered the drink, lifting the empty glass in her free hand. "Here ya go."
She paused. Ria turned from the bar and Maya choked on her soda.
"How in the hell..."Ria mumbled, her dark eyes finding Maya's brown ones. The brown eyed girl shrugged her shoulders. Inu just chuckled and shook her head. "Ria, pour me another shot, would ya?" She asked stepping away. /
She laughed. "The best night club in Bayview." She set the bill down on the table with a smirk. "How bout you come back here in a few hours and you can tell me where you think the best night club is." She turned and walked away. "Maya, will you take care of the bill. I have errands to run before we open tonight."
"Sure thing, Inu.'
Inu slid into a pair of gray skinny jeans, a black tank-top and a pair of black and red chucks. She pulled her hair back and grabbed her jacket and hurried from her apartment and down the street, the two blocks to The Dagger. The club was packed with bodies and people were rushing between tables in the bar area while the the dance floor was an ocean of bumping and grinding. "You gotta love the nightlife." She laughed, making her way toward the bar. Maya looked up from making a Jager bomb and sighed.
"Took you long enough." She said, thrusting a tray in Inu's direction. "Tallon is on the floor and Ria just left for the upstairs."
"Don't you just love Saturdays?"
"No. I hate them. That goes to table seven."
Maya looked up at him, surprised. She had figured that a guy like Tony would have had woman throwing themselves at him. "Really? You've been alone that long?"
Inu raised an eyebrow and grabbed a glass off the shelf. "Here." She called, filling the glass with whiskey. "What ever it is thats on your mind, you look like you really want it to be gone. This'll help."
"Ang please." Ria pleaded.
"First of all," Inu snapped. "Don't call me that. I hate it when you call me that. Second off...look at my bar Ria. I can't just leave."
"The bar will be fine without you, your dancers however..." Inu hesitated. The bar was packed, but Maya and Rob seemed to be doing just fine on their own, and Tallon was flying by tables...but still.
"Alright fine." She removed her apron and threw it on her tray which she handed to a passing waitress. "Sorry boys, gotta cut this short." She mumbled. "I've got another club to save." She winked and dove into the crowd after Ria.
Maya stood behind the bar and shook her head. She would always give in when Ria pulled the act. When would that girl learn?
"Straight vodka?" Maya chuckled. "If you're starting baby steps, I suggest not tossing rubbing alcohol down your throats." She pulled out a couple shot glasses. "I would suggest a smoother drink...but if you want to do straight vodka." She poured the shots and slid them across the bar before pulling out a third glass and pouring herself a drink. "Then it's on the house." She raised her glass before taking the shot.
"Who? Inu?" She questioned. With a shrug she pointed toward the staircase. "Upstairs. There's a second club up there where she dances." She said. "And for the record, her hair is legitimately white. Just so you know."
"No offense to your friend or anything, but he seems like someone I would want to punch in the face if I spent to much time around him." Maya said with a laugh.
"Let's move it ladies. We're already behind schedule." Inu barked, slipping her arms through a leather biker vest over a lacy, black bra. She hurried from the dressing room to the stage door, the heels of her custom made, steel toed stilettos clicked on the wood flooring. A silver chain slung across her hips over a black leather skirt which hung low, exposing the black rose tattooed on her left hip.
"I forgot she's a nazi when she's not on time." One of the dancers mumbled. Inu laughed, pushed open the stage door and let the girls file in. The music started, the lights flared to life and everything became a blur of bright lights, cool metal and faces in the crowd.
"Hmmm." Maya said, shaking her head. "I'll keep that in mind in case I ever get to know him." She looked from the stairs to Tony and smiled. "What are you staring at?"
"Oh this is just the beginning." Maya stated before mixing a drink and sending it down the bar. "It's still early. Usually around one or two we get the people who are already drunk. They come in, dance, drink. They things get rowdy." She scanned the crowds around the bar. "Bar fights break out, mosh pits start on the dance floor. Some of these people are best friends with security." She couldn't help but smile. "But despite all that, it's fun."
The lights died and girls vanished from stage for a costume change. Inu just shrugged out of her vest and tossed it aside. She cued her tech support guy and hurried back up the stairs before the lights once again flared to life and Buckcherry's "Crazy Bitch" started playing. She danced alone, keeping the boys entertained while her girls got ready. She jumped up, wrapping her legs around one of the bars and flipping upside down, sliding to the floor and executing a slow back bend. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she tensed.
Something bad was going to happen...and soon.
Maya blinked in surprise. She had never seen herself as one to stand out to anyone. She was always the one the blended into the background. The quiet girl with a book in high school, the quiet neighbor in her apartment building, even the quiet one at work. Her curiosity peaked and she couldn't help but ask, "How so?"
Girls flooded onto the stage and Inu switched out with Ria, heading down the dull hallway for a costume change.
Maya smiled. "I never really saw a point in worrying." She leaned against the bar. "Speaking of not being like others..." She jabbed her thumb in the direction of the staircase. "You and you're buddy are nothing alike. He seems like the...brash type where you aren't. Where'd you pick a guy like him up?"
From her point on stage, Ria had a perfect view of the backstage door. Her eye brows knitted together as she noticed a familiar blond head heading away from the door. 'What on Earth....' she thought.
Inu sat at her mirror and slid on a pair of fingerless, elbow length fishnet gloves. She leaned back in her chair, listening intently for a change in the music that cued her return.
"Maya." She said with a gentle smile.
When her song didn't cue her in, Inu stood up and stepped into the hallway. She waited, listening. Nothing. The door from the stage opened and Ria appeared down the hall.
"What the hell is going on out there."
"I cued them to skip your next dance."
"So you beg me to come up here then you have them skip my dance. What the fu--"
"You blue eyed blond admirer followed you up here." Inu just stared at Ria.
"You're joking, right?" Ria shook her head.
Maya smiled and opened her mouth to speak but the words died on her lips. She saw it before anyone else did. The first punch thrown just feet away. The body of a young man sailed through the air and crashed into a group of girls, causing them to spill their drinks with a scream. Their boyfriends, acting all tough, threw a couple punches themselves.
"Shit!" Maya muttered as that one punch started an all out brawl.
Even over the music, Inu could hear the shouting. She and Ria glanced at each other and burst through the stage doors. "Cut the power to the stage!" Inu ordered as she pushed through people, trying to get to the stair case. The fist hand that reached out to grab her made contact with her upper thigh. She spun and in one swift motion threw a punch that knocked the drunken bastard out cold. Without missing a beat she continued toward the stairs.
"Well it wouldn't be Saturday without a fight or.....seven." She looked up in time to see Inu appear at the top of the stairs. Her golden eyes danced over the scene and she locked gazes with Maya and nodded. Maya signaled to the DJ's who quickly covered their equipment with blue tarps.
"Hope you don't mind getting wet." Maya mumbled, reaching over to pull the fire alarms. Cries of surprise erupted around them as the sprinklers turned on, showering everyone with cold water. From her spot at the top of the stairs, Maya heard Inu whistle.
"That's it!" She screamed. "Everyone clear out before I sick security on your sorry asses!"
Maya shook her wet hair out from in front of her eyes. "No. You're good. She just wants the brawlers out...and everyone else for that matter." She watched as people flooded out the doors until there was no one left but a few stragglers, Tony and the employees.
"Well, that was fun." Tallon mumbled, showing up soaking wet and smelling like beer. "Some idiot tipped my tray when the sprinklers went off."
"At least you got a shower." Maya smiled.
"Yeah well, that's bound to happen when ninety percent of the employment are all females. But we learn to take care of ourselves in this place, and with Inu stalking around...well...people tend not to touch. And those who do learn real fast not to."
Inu walked down the rest of the stairs, shivering slightly as water droplets ran down her bare skin. "I hate it when this has to happen." She muttered to herself.
"Ah, her bark is worse than her bite most of the time." Maya said, ringing water from her hair. "She's just got a thing about guys. She doesn't trust them."
